1. మీ ఎదుట నున్నప్పుడు మీలో అణకువగలవాడనైనట్టియు, ఎదుట లేనప్పుడు మీయెడల ధైర్యము గలవాడనైనట్టియు, పౌలను నేనే యేసుక్రీస్తుయొక్క సాత్వికమును మృదుత్వమునుబట్టి మిమ్మును వేడుకొను చున్నాను.

1. NOW I myself, Paul, beseech you, by the gentleness and consideration of Christ [Himself; I] who [am] lowly enough [so they say] when among you face to face, but bold (fearless and outspoken) to you when [I am] absent from you!

2. శరీరప్రకారము నడుచుకొనువారమని మమ్మునుగూర్చి కొందరనుకొనుచున్నారు కారా? అట్టి వారియెడల నేను తెగించి కాఠిన్యము చూపవలెనని తలంచుకొనుచున్నాను గాని, నేను వచ్చినప్పుడు అట్లు కాఠిన్యమును చూపకుండునట్లు చేయుడని నేను మిమ్మును బతిమాలుకొనుచున్నాను.

2. I entreat you when I do come [to you] that I may not [be driven to such] boldness as I intend to show toward those few who suspect us of acting according to the flesh [on the low level of worldly motives and as if invested with only human powers].

3. మేము శరీరధారులమై నడుచు కొనుచున్నను శరీరప్రకారము యుద్ధముచేయము.

3. For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons.

4. మా యుద్ధోపకరణములు శరీరసంబంధమైనవి కావుగాని, దేవుని యెదుట దుర్గములను పడద్రోయజాలినంత బలముకలవై యున్నవి.

4. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,

5. మేము వితర్కములను, దేవునిగూర్చిన జ్ఞానమును అడ్డగించు ప్రతి ఆటంకమును పడద్రోసి, ప్రతి ఆలోచనను క్రీస్తుకు లోబడునట్లు చెరపట్టి

5. [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

6. మీరు సంపూర్ణ విధేయతను కనుపరచినప్పుడు సమస్తమైన అవిధేయతకు ప్రతిదండనచేయ సిద్ధపడి యున్నాము.

6. Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.

7. సంగతులను పైపైననే మీరు చూచుచున్నారు, ఎవడైనను తాను క్రీస్తువాడనని నమ్ముకొనినయెడల, అతడేలాగు క్రీస్తువాడో ఆలాగే మేమును క్రీస్తువారమని తన మనస్సులో తాను తిరిగి ఆలోచించుకొనవలెను.

7. Look at [this obvious fact] which is before your eyes. If anyone is confident that he is Christ's, let him reflect and remind himself that even as he is Christ's, so too are we.

8. పడ ద్రోయుటకు కాక మిమ్మును కట్టుటకే ప్రభువు మాకు అనుగ్రహించిన అధికారమునుగూర్చి నేనొకవేళ కొంచెము అధికముగా అతిశయపడినను నేను సిగ్గుపరచబడను.

8. For even though I boast rather freely about our power and authority, which the Lord gave for your upbuilding and not for demolishing you, yet I shall not be put to shame [for exceeding the truth],

9. నేను వ్రాయు పత్రికలవలన మిమ్మును భయపెట్టవలెనని యున్నట్టు కనబడకుండ ఈ మాట చెప్పుచున్నాను.

9. Neither would I seem to be overawing or frightening you with my letters;

10. అతని పత్రికలు ఘనమైనవియు బలీయమైనవియు నైయున్నవి గాని అతడు శరీరరూపమునకు బలహీనుడు, అతని ప్రసంగము కొరగానిదని యొకడు అనును.

10. For they say, His letters are weighty and impressive and forceful and telling, but his personality and bodily presence are weak, and his speech and delivery are utterly contemptible (of no account).

11. మేమెదుటలేనప్పుడు పత్రికల ద్వారా మాటలయందెట్టి వారమైయున్నామో, యెదుట ఉన్నప్పుడు క్రియయందు అట్టివారమై యుందుమని అట్లనువాడు తలంచుకొనవలెను.

11. Let such people realize that what we say by letters when we are absent, [we put] also into deeds when we are present--

12. తమ్మును తామే మెచ్చుకొను కొందరితో జతపరచుకొనుట కైనను వారితో సరిచూచుకొనుటకైనను మేము తెగింప జాలము గాని, వారు తమలోనే యొకరిని బట్టి యొకరు ఎన్నికచేసికొని యొకరితోనొకరు సరి చూచుకొను చున్నందున, గ్రహింపులేక యున్నారు.

12. Not that we [have the audacity to] venture to class or [even to] compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonials for themselves! However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely.

13. మేమైతే మేరకు మించి అతిశయపడము గాని మీరున్న స్థలము వరకును రావలెనని దేవుడు మాకు కొలిచి యిచ్చిన మేరకు లోబడియుండి అతిశయించుచున్నాము.

13. We, on the other hand, will not boast beyond our legitimate province and proper limit, but will keep within the limits [of our commission which] God has allotted us as our measuring line and which reaches and includes even you.

14. మేము క్రీస్తు సువార్త ప్రకటించుచు, మీవరకును వచ్చియుంటిమి గనుక మీయొద్దకు రానివారమైనట్టు మేము మా మేర దాటి వెళ్లుచున్న వారము కాము.

14. For we are not overstepping the limits of our province and stretching beyond our ability to reach, as though we reached not (had no legitimate mission) to you, for we were [the very first] to come even as far as to you with the good news (the Gospel) of Christ.

15. మేము మేరకు మించి యితరుల ప్రయాసఫలములలో భాగస్థులమనుకొని అతిశయ పడము. మీ విశ్వాసము అభివృద్ధియైనకొలది మాకనుగ్ర హింపబడిన మేరలకు లోపలనే సువార్త మరి విశేషముగా వ్యాపింపజేయుచు,

15. We do not boast therefore, beyond our proper limit, over other men's labors, but we have the hope and confident expectation that as your faith continues to grow, our field among you may be greatly enlarged, still within the limits of our commission,

16. మీ ఆవలి ప్రదేశములలో కూడ సువార్త ప్రకటించునట్లుగా, మేము మీ మూలముగా ఘనపరచబడుదుమని నిరీక్షించుచున్నామే గాని, మరియొకని మేరలో చేరి, సిద్ధమైయున్నవి మావియైనట్టు అతిశయింపగోరము.

16. So that [we may even] preach the Gospel in lands [lying] beyond you, without making a boast of work already done in another [man's] sphere of activity [before we came on the scene].

17. అతిశయించువాడు ప్రభువునందే అతిశయింపవలెను.

17. However, let him who boasts and glories boast and glory in the Lord. [Jer. 9:24.]

18. ప్రభువు మెచ్చుకొనువాడే యోగ్యుడు గాని తన్ను తానే మెచ్చుకొనువాడు యోగ్యుడుకాడు.

18. For [it is] not [the man] who praises and commends himself who is approved and accepted, but [it is the person] whom the Lord accredits and commends.
