1. మీ ఎదుట నున్నప్పుడు మీలో అణకువగలవాడనైనట్టియు, ఎదుట లేనప్పుడు మీయెడల ధైర్యము గలవాడనైనట్టియు, పౌలను నేనే యేసుక్రీస్తుయొక్క సాత్వికమును మృదుత్వమునుబట్టి మిమ్మును వేడుకొను చున్నాను.

1. And I, Paul, myself, do call upon you -- through the meekness and gentleness of the Christ -- who in presence, indeed [am] humble among you, and being absent, have courage toward you,

2. శరీరప్రకారము నడుచుకొనువారమని మమ్మునుగూర్చి కొందరనుకొనుచున్నారు కారా? అట్టి వారియెడల నేను తెగించి కాఠిన్యము చూపవలెనని తలంచుకొనుచున్నాను గాని, నేను వచ్చినప్పుడు అట్లు కాఠిన్యమును చూపకుండునట్లు చేయుడని నేను మిమ్మును బతిమాలుకొనుచున్నాను.

2. and I beseech [you], that, being present, I may not have courage, with the confidence with which I reckon to be bold against certain reckoning us as walking according to the flesh;

3. మేము శరీరధారులమై నడుచు కొనుచున్నను శరీరప్రకారము యుద్ధముచేయము.

3. for walking in the flesh, not according to the flesh do we war,

4. మా యుద్ధోపకరణములు శరీరసంబంధమైనవి కావుగాని, దేవుని యెదుట దుర్గములను పడద్రోయజాలినంత బలముకలవై యున్నవి.

4. for the weapons of our warfare [are] not fleshly, but powerful to God for bringing down of strongholds,

5. మేము వితర్కములను, దేవునిగూర్చిన జ్ఞానమును అడ్డగించు ప్రతి ఆటంకమును పడద్రోసి, ప్రతి ఆలోచనను క్రీస్తుకు లోబడునట్లు చెరపట్టి

5. reasonings bringing down, and every high thing lifted up against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of the Christ,

6. మీరు సంపూర్ణ విధేయతను కనుపరచినప్పుడు సమస్తమైన అవిధేయతకు ప్రతిదండనచేయ సిద్ధపడి యున్నాము.

6. and being in readiness to avenge every disobedience, whenever your obedience may be fulfilled.

7. సంగతులను పైపైననే మీరు చూచుచున్నారు, ఎవడైనను తాను క్రీస్తువాడనని నమ్ముకొనినయెడల, అతడేలాగు క్రీస్తువాడో ఆలాగే మేమును క్రీస్తువారమని తన మనస్సులో తాను తిరిగి ఆలోచించుకొనవలెను.

7. The things in presence do ye see? if any one hath trusted in himself to be Christ's, this let him reckon again from himself, that according as he is Christ's, so also we [are] Christ's;

8. పడ ద్రోయుటకు కాక మిమ్మును కట్టుటకే ప్రభువు మాకు అనుగ్రహించిన అధికారమునుగూర్చి నేనొకవేళ కొంచెము అధికముగా అతిశయపడినను నేను సిగ్గుపరచబడను.

8. for even if also anything more abundantly I shall boast concerning our authority, that the Lord gave us for building up, and not for casting you down, I shall not be ashamed;

9. నేను వ్రాయు పత్రికలవలన మిమ్మును భయపెట్టవలెనని యున్నట్టు కనబడకుండ ఈ మాట చెప్పుచున్నాను.

9. that I may not seem as if I would terrify you through the letters,

10. అతని పత్రికలు ఘనమైనవియు బలీయమైనవియు నైయున్నవి గాని అతడు శరీరరూపమునకు బలహీనుడు, అతని ప్రసంగము కొరగానిదని యొకడు అనును.

10. 'because the letters indeed -- saith one -- [are] weighty and strong, and the bodily presence weak, and the speech despicable.'

11. మేమెదుటలేనప్పుడు పత్రికల ద్వారా మాటలయందెట్టి వారమైయున్నామో, యెదుట ఉన్నప్పుడు క్రియయందు అట్టివారమై యుందుమని అట్లనువాడు తలంచుకొనవలెను.

11. This one -- let him reckon thus: that such as we are in word, through letters, being absent, such also, being present, [we are] in deed.

12. తమ్మును తామే మెచ్చుకొను కొందరితో జతపరచుకొనుట కైనను వారితో సరిచూచుకొనుటకైనను మేము తెగింప జాలము గాని, వారు తమలోనే యొకరిని బట్టి యొకరు ఎన్నికచేసికొని యొకరితోనొకరు సరి చూచుకొను చున్నందున, గ్రహింపులేక యున్నారు.

12. For we do not make bold to rank or to compare ourselves with certain of those commending themselves, but they, among themselves measuring themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are not wise,

13. మేమైతే మేరకు మించి అతిశయపడము గాని మీరున్న స్థలము వరకును రావలెనని దేవుడు మాకు కొలిచి యిచ్చిన మేరకు లోబడియుండి అతిశయించుచున్నాము.

13. and we in regard to the unmeasured things will not boast ourselves, but after the measure of the line that the God of measure did appoint to us -- to reach even unto you;

14. మేము క్రీస్తు సువార్త ప్రకటించుచు, మీవరకును వచ్చియుంటిమి గనుక మీయొద్దకు రానివారమైనట్టు మేము మా మేర దాటి వెళ్లుచున్న వారము కాము.

14. for not as not reaching to you do we stretch ourselves overmuch, for even unto you did we come in the good news of the Christ,

15. మేము మేరకు మించి యితరుల ప్రయాసఫలములలో భాగస్థులమనుకొని అతిశయ పడము. మీ విశ్వాసము అభివృద్ధియైనకొలది మాకనుగ్ర హింపబడిన మేరలకు లోపలనే సువార్త మరి విశేషముగా వ్యాపింపజేయుచు,

15. not boasting of the things not measured, in other men's labours, and having hope -- your faith increasing -- in you to be enlarged, according to our line -- into abundance,

16. మీ ఆవలి ప్రదేశములలో కూడ సువార్త ప్రకటించునట్లుగా, మేము మీ మూలముగా ఘనపరచబడుదుమని నిరీక్షించుచున్నామే గాని, మరియొకని మేరలో చేరి, సిద్ధమైయున్నవి మావియైనట్టు అతిశయింపగోరము.

16. in the [places] beyond you to proclaim good news, not in another's line in regard to the things made ready, to boast;

17. అతిశయించువాడు ప్రభువునందే అతిశయింపవలెను.

17. and he who is boasting -- in the Lord let him boast;

18. ప్రభువు మెచ్చుకొనువాడే యోగ్యుడు గాని తన్ను తానే మెచ్చుకొనువాడు యోగ్యుడుకాడు.

18. for not he who is commending himself is approved, but he whom the Lord doth commend.
