1. యాజకులైన లేవీయులకు, అనగా లేవీగోత్రీయుల కందరికి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో పాలైనను స్వాస్థ్యమైనను ఉండదు, వారు యెహోవా హోమద్రవ్యములను తిందురు; అది వారి హక్కు.
1 కోరింథీయులకు 9:13

1. The priests the Levites, all the tribe of Levi shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel. The offerings of the LORD and his inheritance they shall eat,

2. వారి సహోదరులతో వారికి స్వాస్థ్యము కలుగదు; యెహోవా వారితో చెప్పి నట్లు ఆయనే వారికి స్వాస్థ్యము. జనులవలన, అనగా ఎద్దుగాని గొఱ్ఱెగాని మేకగాని బలిగా అర్పించువారి వలన

2. but shall have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD he is their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.

3. యాజకులు పొందవలసిన దేదనగా, కుడిజబ్బను రెండు దవడలను పొట్టను యాజకుని కియ్యవలెను.

3. And this is the duty of the priests, of the people and of them that offer, whether it be ox or sheep: They must give unto the priest, the shoulder and the two cheeks and the maw,

4. నీ ధాన్యములోను నీ ద్రాక్షారసములోను నీ నూనెలోను ప్రథమ ఫలములను నీ గొఱ్ఱెల మొదటి బొచ్చును అతని కియ్యవలెను.

4. the first fruits of thy corn, wine and oil, and the first of thy sheep shearing must thou give him.

5. నిత్యము యెహోవా నామమున నిలిచి సేవచేయుటకు నీ గోత్రములన్నిటిలోను అతనిని అతని సంతతివారిని నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఏర్పరచుకొని యున్నాడు.

5. For the LORD thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes to stand and to minister in the name of the LORD: both him and his sons for ever.

6. ఒక లేవీయుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేశమున తాను విదేశిగా నివసించిన నీ గ్రామములలో ఒకదానినుండి యెహోవా ఏర్పరచుకొను స్థలమునకు మిక్కిలి మక్కువతో వచ్చినప్పుడు

6. If a Levite come out of any of thy cities or any place of Israel, where he is a sojourner, and come with all the lust of his heart unto the place which the LORD hath chosen:

7. అక్కడ యెహోవా సన్నిధిని నిలుచు లేవీయులైన తన గోత్రపువారు చేయునట్లు అతడు తన దేవుడైన యెహోవా నామమున సేవచేయవలెను.

7. he shall there minister in the name of the LORD his God as all his brethren the Levites do which stand there before the LORD.

8. అమ్మబడిన తన పిత్రార్జితమువలన తనకు వచ్చినది గాక అతడు ఇతరులవలె వంతు అనుభవింపవలెను.

8. And they shall have like portions to eat, beside that which cometh to him of the patrimony of his elders.

9. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకిచ్చుచున్న దేశమున నీవు ప్రవేశించిన తరువాత ఆ జనముల హేయకృత్యములను నీవు చేయ నేర్చుకొనకూడదు.

9. When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, see that thou learn not to do after the abominations of these nations.

10. తన కుమారునైనను తన కుమార్తెనైనను అగ్నిగుండము దాటించు వానినైనను, శకు నముచెప్పు సోదెగానినైనను, మేఘ శకునములనుగాని సర్ప శకునములను గాని చెప్పు వానినైనను, చిల్లంగివానినైనను, మాంత్రికునినైనను, ఇంద్రజాలకునినైనను

10. Let there not be found among you that maketh his son or his daughter go thorow fire, either a bruterar or a maker of dismal days or that useth witchcraft(or that useth withcraft, or a chooser out of days or that regardeth the flyeng of souls) or a sorcerer,

11. కర్ణపిశాచి నడుగువానినైనను, దయ్యములయొద్ద విచారణచేయు వాని నైనను మీ మధ్య ఉండనియ్యకూడదు.

11. or a charmer, or that speaketh(counseleth) with a spirit, or a soothsayer or that talketh with them that are dead.(prophesiar or that asketh the advise of the dead.)

12. వీటిని చేయు ప్రతివాడును యెహోవాకు హేయుడు. ఆ హేయము లైన వాటినిబట్టి నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీ యెదుటనుండి ఆ జనములను వెళ్లగొట్టుచున్నాడు.

12. For all that do such things are abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doeth cast them out before thee,

13. నీవు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాయొద్ద యథార్థపరుడవై యుండవలెను.
మత్తయి 5:48

13. be pure therefore with the LORD thy God.

14. నీవు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనబోవు జనములు మేఘశకునములను చెప్పువారి మాటను సోదెగాండ్ర మాటను విందురు. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నిన్ను ఆలాగున చేయనియ్యడు.

14. For these nations which thou shalt conquer, hearken unto makers(choosers out) of dismal days and bruterars.(prophesyars, or profit-seers) But the LORD thy God permitteth not that to thee.

15. హోరేబులో ఆ సమాజదినమున నీవునేను చావక యుండునట్లు మళ్లి నా దేవుడైన యెహోవా స్వరము నాకు విన బడకుండును గాక,

15. The LORD thy God will stir up a Prophet among you: even of thy brethren like unto me: and unto him ye shall hearken

16. ఈ గొప్ప అగ్ని నాకు ఇకను కనబడకుండునుగాక అని చెప్పితివి. ఆ సమయ మున నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను నీవు అడిగిన వాటన్నిటి చొప్పున నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీ మధ్యను నావంటి ప్రవక్తను నీ సహోదరులలో నీకొరకు పుట్టించును, ఆయన మాట నీవు వినవలెను.

16. according to all that thou desiredest of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day when the people were gathered saying: Let me hear the voice of my LORD God no more, nor see this great fire any more, that I die not.

17. మరియు యెహోవా నాతో ఇట్లనెను. వారు చెప్పిన మాట మంచిది;

17. And the LORD said unto me: they have well spoken,

18. వారి సహో దరులలోనుండి నీవంటి ప్రవక్తను వారికొరకు పుట్టించెదను; అతని నోట నా మాటల నుంచుదును; నేను అతని కాజ్ఞా పించునది యావత్తును అతడు వారితో చెప్పును.

18. I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren like unto thee and will put my words into his mouth and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

19. అతడు నా నామమున చెప్పు నా మాటలను విననివానిని దాని గూర్చి విచారణ చేసెదను.

19. And whosoever will not hearken unto the words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

20. అంతేకాదు, ఏ ప్రవక్తయు అహంకారము పూని, నేను చెప్పుమని తన కాజ్ఞాపించని మాటను నా నామమున చెప్పునో, యితర దేవతల నామమున చెప్పునో ఆ ప్రవక్తయును చావవలెను.

20. But the prophet which shall presume to speak ought in my name which I commanded him not to speak, and he that speaketh in the name of strange gods, the same prophet shall die.

21. మరియు ఏదొకమాట యెహోవా చెప్పినది కాదని మేమెట్లు తెలిసికొనగలమని మీరనుకొనిన యెడల,

21. And if thou say in thine heart, how shall I know that which the LORD hath not spoken?

22. ప్రవక్త యెహోవా నామమున చెప్పినప్పుడు ఆ మాట జరుగక పోయిన యెడలను ఎన్నడును నెరవేరకపోయిన యెడ లను అది యెహోవా చెప్పిన మాట కాదు, ఆ ప్రవక్త అహంకారముచేతనే దాని చెప్పెను గనుక దానికి భయ పడవద్దు.

22. When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken. But the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: be not afeared therefore of him.
