1. We turned back and started out toward the desert. We went along the road that leads to the Red Sea. That's how the Lord had directed me. For a long time we made our way around the hill country of Seir.

2. అంతట యెహోవా నాకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను మీరు ఈ మన్నెముచుట్టు తిరిగినకాలము చాలును;

2. Then the Lord spoke to me. He said,

3. ఉత్తరదిక్కుకు తిరుగుడి. మరియు నీవు ప్రజలతో ఇట్లనుము

3. 'You have made your way around this hill country long enough. So now turn north.

4. 'Here are the orders I want you to give the people. Tell them, 'You are about to pass through the territory of your relatives. They are from the family line of Esau. They live in Seir. They will be afraid of you. But be very careful.

5. Do not make them angry. If you do, they will go to war against you. I will not give you any of their land. You will not have even enough to put your foot on. I have given Esau the hill country of Seir as his own.

6. మీరు రూకలిచ్చి వారియొద్ద ఆహారము కొని తినవచ్చును. రూకలిచ్చి వారియొద్ద నీళ్లు సంపాదించుకొని త్రాగవచ్చును.

6. Pay them with silver for the food you eat and the water you drink.' '

7. నీ చేతుల పనులన్నిటిలోను నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నిన్ను ఆశీర్వ దించెను. ఈ గొప్ప అరణ్యములో నీవు ఈ నలువది సంవత్సరములు సంచరించిన సంగతి ఆయన యెరుగును. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా నీకు తోడై యున్నాడు, నీకేమియు తక్కువకాదు.

7. The Lord your God has blessed you in everything your hands have done. He watched over you when you traveled through that huge desert. For these 40 years the Lord your God has been with you. So you have had everything you need.

8. అప్పుడు శేయీరులో నివసించు ఏశావు సంతానపు వారైన మన సహోదరులను విడిచి, ఏలతు ఎసోన్గెబెరు అరాబా మార్గమునుండి మనము ప్రయాణము చేసితివిు.

8. We went on past our relatives. They are from the family line of Esau. They live in Seir. We turned away from the Arabah Valley road. It comes up from Elath and Ezion Geber. We traveled along the desert road of Moab.

9. మనము తిరిగి మోయాబు అరణ్యమార్గమున ప్రయా ణము చేయుచుండగా యెహోవా నాతో ఇట్లనెనుమోయాబీయులను బాధింపవద్దు; వారితో యుద్ధముచేయ వద్దు. లోతు సంతానమునకు ఆరు దేశమును స్వాస్థ్య ముగా ఇచ్చితిని, వారి భూమిలో ఏదియు నీకు స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇయ్యను.

9. Then the Lord said to me, 'Do not attack the Moabites. Do not even make them angry. If you do, they will go to war against you. I will not give you any part of their land. I have given Moab to the people in the family line of Lot. I have given it to them as their own.'

10. పూర్వకాలమున ఏమీయులనువారు ఆరు దేశములో నివసించిరి. వారు అనాకీయులవలె, ఉన్నత దేహులు, బలవంతులైన బహు జనులు. వారును అనాకీయులవలె రెఫాయీయులుగా ఎంచబడిన వారు.

10. The Emites used to live there. They were strong people. There were large numbers of them. They were as tall as the Anakites.

11. మోయాబీయులు వారికి ఏమీయులని పేరు పెట్టిరి.

11. Like the Anakites, they too were thought of as Rephaites. But the Moabites called them Emites.

12. పూర్వకాలమున హోరీయులు శేయీరులో నివసించిరి. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు యెహోవా తమకిచ్చిన స్వాస్థ్యమైన దేశములో చేసినట్లు ఏశావు సంతానపువారు హోరీయుల దేశమును స్వాధీన పరచుకొని తమ యెదుటనుండి వారిని నశింపజేసి వారి దేశములో నివసించిరి.

12. The Horites used to live in Seir. But the people of Esau drove them out. They destroyed the Horites to make room for themselves. Then they settled in their territory. They did just as Israel has done in the land the Lord gave them as their own.

13. కాబట్టిమీరు లేచి జెరెదు ఏరుదాటుడి అని యెహోవా సెలవియ్యగా జెరెదు ఏరు దాటి తివిు.

13. The Lord said, 'Now get up. Go across the Zered Valley.' So we went across it.

14. మనము కాదేషు బర్నేయలోనుండి బయలు దేరి జెరెదు ఏరుదాటువరకు, అనగా యెహోవా వారిని గూర్చి ప్రమాణము చేసినట్లు సైనికులైన ఆ మనుష్యుల తరమువారందరు సేనలోనుండకుండ నశించువరకు మనము నడిచిన కాలము ముప్పది యెనిమిది సంవత్సరములు. అంతేకాదు, వారు నశించువరకు

14. Between the time we left Kadesh Barnea and the time we went across the Zered Valley, 38 years passed. By then, all of the fighting men who had been in our camp from the beginning had died. The Lord had warned them with an oath that it would happen.

15. సేన మధ్యనుండి వారిని సంహరించుటకు యెహోవా బాహువు వారికి విరోధముగా నుండెను.

15. He used his power against them until he had gotten rid of all of them. Not one was left in the camp.

16. సైనికులైన వారందరు ప్రజలలోనుండి లయమైపోయిన తరువాత యెహోవా నాకు ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను.

16. Finally, the last of the fighting men among the people died.

17. నేడు నీవు మోయాబునకు సరిహద్దుగానున్న ఆరు దేశము దాటబోవుచున్నావు.

17. Then the Lord spoke to me. He said,

18. అమ్మోనీయుల మార్గమున వెళ్లునప్పుడు

18. 'Today you must pass near the border of Moab. Moab is also called Ar.

19. వారిని బాధింపవద్దు, వారితో యుద్ధము చేయవద్దు. ఏలయనగా లోతు సంతానమునకు దానిని స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇచ్చినందున అమ్మోనీయుల దేశములో నీకు స్వాస్థ్యము నియ్యను.

19. 'When you come to the Ammonites, do not attack them. Do not make them angry. If you do, they will go to war against you. I will not give you any of their land as your own. I have given it to the people in the family line of Lot. I have given it to them as their own.'

20. అదియు రెఫాయీయుల దేశమని యెంచబడుచున్నది. పూర్వమందు రెఫాయీ యులు అందులో నివసించిరి. అమ్మోనీయులు వారిని జంజుమీ్మయులందురు.

20. That land was also thought of as a land of the Rephaites. They used to live there. But the Ammonites called them Zamzummites.

21. వారు అనాకీయులవలె ఉన్నత దేహులు, బలవంతు లైన బహు జనులు. అయితే యెహోవా అమ్మోనీయుల యెదుటనుండి వారిని వెళ్లగొట్టెను గనుక అమ్మోనీయులు వారి దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొని వారి చోట నివసించిరి.

21. The Rephaites were strong people. There were large numbers of them. They were as tall as the Anakites. The Lord destroyed the Rephaites to make room for the Ammonites. So the Ammonites drove them out. Then they settled in the territory of the Rephaites.

22. అట్లు ఆయన శేయీరులో నివసించు ఏశావు సంతానముకొరకు చేసెను. ఎట్లనగా ఆయన వారి యెదుటనుండి హోరీయులను నశింపజేసెను గనుక వారు హోరీయుల దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొని నేటి వరకు వారిచోట నివసించుచున్నారు.

22. The Lord had done the same thing for the people of Esau. They lived in Seir. He destroyed the Horites to make room for them. They drove the Horites out. So the people of Esau have lived in Seir in the territory of the Horites to this very day.

23. గాజావరకు గ్రామములలో నివసించిన ఆవీయులను కఫ్తోరులోనుండి బయలుదేరి వచ్చిన కఫ్తారీయులు నశింపజేసి వారిచోట నివసించిరి.

23. The Avvites lived in villages as far away as Gaza. But people came from Crete. They destroyed the Avvites. Then they settled in the territory of the Avvites.

24. మీరు లేచి సాగి అర్నోను ఏరుదాటుడి; ఇదిగో అమోరీయుడైన హెష్బోను రాజగు సీహోనును అతని దేశమును నీ చేతికి అప్పగించితిని. దాని స్వాధీన పరచుకొన మొదలుపెట్టి అతనితో యుద్ధము చేయుడి.

24. The Lord said, 'Start out and go across the valley of the Arnon River. I have handed Sihon over to you. He is the Amorite king of Heshbon. I have also given you his country. Begin to take it as your own. Go to war against him.

25. నేడు నేను నీవలని భయము నీవలని వెరపు ఆకాశము క్రిందనున్న సమస్త దేశముల వారికిని పుట్టింప మొదలు పెట్టుచున్నాను. వారు నిన్నుగూర్చిన సమాచారము విని నీయెదుట వణకి మనోవేదన నొందుదురు.

25. 'This very day I will bring fear and terror on all of the nations because of you. They will hear about you. They will tremble with fear. Pain and suffering will take hold of them because of you.'

26. అప్పుడు నేను కెదేమోతు అరణ్యములోనుండి హెష్బోను రాజైన సీహోనునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపి

26. I sent messengers from the Desert of Kedemoth. I told them to go to Sihon, the king of Heshbon. They offered him peace. They said,

27. నన్ను నీ దేశముగుండ దాటిపోనిమ్ము, కుడియెడమలకు తిరుగక త్రోవనే నడిచిపోవుదును.

27. 'Let us pass through your country. We'll stay on the main road. We won't turn off it to one side or the other.

28. నాయొద్ద రూకలు తీసికొని తినుటకు భోజనపదార్థములు నా కిమ్ము; నాయొద్ద రూకలు తీసికొని త్రాగుటకు నీళ్లిమ్ము.

28. We'll pay you the right amount of silver for food to eat and water to drink. Just let us walk through your country.

29. శేయీరులో నివసించు ఏశావు సంతాన పువారును ఆరులో నివసించు మోయాబీయులును నాకు చేసినట్లు, మా దేవుడైన యెహోవా మాకిచ్చుచున్న దేశములో ప్రవేశించుటకై యొర్దాను దాటువరకు కాలి నడకచేతనే నన్ను వెళ్లనిమ్మని సమాధానపు మాటలు పలికించితిని.

29. The people of Esau, who live in Seir, allowed us to do that. The people of Moab, who live in Ar, also allowed us to do it. So let us walk through until we go across the Jordan River. Then we'll be able to go into the land the Lord our God is giving us.'

30. అయితే హెష్బోను రాజైన సీహోను మనలను తన దేశమార్గమున వెళ్ల నిచ్చు టకు సమ్మతింపలేదు. నేడు జరిగినట్లు నీ చేతికి అతని అప్పగించుటకు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా అతని మనస్సును కఠినపరచి అతని హృదయమునకు తెగింపు కలుగజేసెను.

30. But Sihon, the king of Heshbon, refused to let us walk through. The Lord your God had made his heart and spirit stubborn. The Lord wanted to hand him over to you. And that's exactly what he has done.

31. అప్పుడు యెహోవాచూడుము; సీహోనును అతని దేశమును నీకు అప్పగింప మొదలు పెట్టియున్నాను. అతని దేశము నీదగునట్లు నీవు దాని స్వాధీనపరచుకొన మొదలు పెట్టుమని నాతో చెప్పెను.

31. The Lord said to me, 'I have begun to hand Sihon and his country over to you. So begin the battle to take his land as your own.'

32. సీహోనును అతని సమస్త జనమును యాహసులో యుద్ధము చేయుటకై మనకు ఎదు రుగా బయలుదేరి రాగా

32. Sihon and his whole army came out to fight against us at Jahaz.

33. మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా అతనిని మనకు అప్పగించెను గనుక మనము అతనిని అతని కుమారులను అతని సమస్త జనమును హతము చేసి

33. But the Lord our God handed him over to us. We struck him down together with his sons and his whole army.

34. ఆ కాల మున అతని సమస్త పురములను పట్టుకొని, ప్రతి పురమును అందలి స్త్రీ పురుషులను పిల్లలను శేషమేమియులేకుండ నాశనము చేసితివిు.

34. At that time we took all of his towns. We completely destroyed them. We killed all of the men, women and children. We didn't leave any of them alive.

35. పశువులను మనము పట్టుకొనిన పురముల సొమ్మును దోపిడిగా దోచుకొంటిమి.

35. But we took for ourselves the livestock and everything else from the towns we had captured.

36. అర్నోను ఏటిలోయ దరినున్న అరోయేరును ఆ యేటియొద్దనున్న పురము మొదలుకొని గిలాదువరకు మనకు అసాధ్యమైన నగర మొకటియు లేకపోయెను. మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా అన్నిటిని మనకు అప్పగించెను.

36. Not a single town was too strong for us. That includes all of the towns from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon River valley all the way to Gilead. It also includes the town in the valley. The Lord our God gave us all of them.

37. అయితే అమ్మోనీయుల దేశమునకైనను యబ్బోకు ఏటి లోయలోని యే ప్రాంత మునకైనను ఆ మన్నెములోని పురములకైనను మన దేవు డైన యెహోవా పోకూడదని చెప్పిన మరి ఏ స్థలమున కైనను నీవు సమీపింపలేదు.

37. And you obeyed the Lord's command. You didn't go near any part of the land of the Ammonites. That includes the land along the Jabbok River. It also includes the land around the towns that are in the hills.
