1. చుట్టునున్న వారి శత్రువులలో ఎవరును వారి మీదికి రాకుండ యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు నెమ్మది కలుగ జేసినమీదట అనేక దినములైన తరువాత యెహోషువ బహు సంవత్సరములుగల వృద్ధుడాయెను.

1. And it came to pass after many days after the Lord had given Israel rest from all his enemies round about, that Joshua was old and advanced in years.

2. అప్పు డతడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులనందరిని వారి పెద్దలను వారి ముఖ్యులను వారి న్యాయాధిపతులను వారి నాయకు లను పిలిపించి వారితో ఇట్లనెనునేను బహు సంవ త్సరములు గడచిన ముసలివాడను.

2. And Joshua called together all the children of Israel, and their elders, and their chiefs, and their judges, and their officers, and said to them, I am old and advanced in years.

3. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీ నిమిత్తము సమస్తజనములకు చేసిన దంతయు మీరు చూచితిరి. మీ నిమిత్తము యుద్ధము చేసినవాడు మీ దేవుడైన యెహో వాయే.

3. And you have seen all that the Lord our God has done to all these nations before us; [for it] is the Lord your God who has fought for you.

4. చూడుడి, యొర్దాను మొదలుకొని తూర్పు దిక్కున మహాసముద్రము వరకు నేను నిర్మూలము చేసిన సమస్త జనముల దేశమును, మీ గోత్రముల స్వాస్థ్యముమధ్య మిగిలియున్న యీ జనముల దేశమును మీకు వంతుచీట్లవలన పంచిపెట్టితిని.

4. See, that I have given to you these nations that are left to you by lots to your tribes, all the nations beginning at the Jordan; and [some] I have destroyed; and the boundaries shall be at the Great Sea westward.

5. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాయే వారిని మీ యెదుట నిలువ కుండ వెళ్లగొట్టిన తరువాత మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీతో సెలవిచ్చినట్లు మీరు వారి దేశమును స్వాధీన పరచుకొందురు.

5. And the Lord our God, He shall destroy them before us, until they utterly perish; and He shall send against them the wild beasts, until He has utterly destroyed them and their kings from before you; and you shall inherit their land, as the Lord our God said to you.

6. కాబట్టి మీరు మోషే ధర్మశాస్త్ర గ్రంథములో వ్రాయబడినదంతటిని గైకొని అనుసరించు టకు మనస్సు దృఢము చేసికొని, యెడమకు గాని కుడికి గాని దానినుండి తొలగిపోక

6. Therefore strive diligently to observe and do all things written in the Book of the Law of Moses, that you turn not to the right hand or to the left;

7. మీయొద్ద మిగిలియున్న యీజనుల సహవాసము చేయక వారి దేవతల పేళ్లను ఎత్తక వాటి తోడని ప్రమాణము చేయక వాటిని పూజింపక వాటికి నమస్కరింపక

7. that you go not in among these nations that are left; and the names of their gods shall not be named among you, neither shall you serve them, neither shall you bow down to them.

8. మీరు నేటివరకు చేసినట్లు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను హత్తుకొని యుండవలెను.

8. But you shall cleave to the Lord our God, as you have done until this day.

9. యెహోవా బలముగల గొప్ప జనములను మీ యెదుట నుండి కొట్టివేసియున్నాడు, మీ యెదుట నేటివరకును ఏ మనుష్యుడును నిలిచియుండలేదు.

9. And the Lord shall destroy them before you, [even] great and strong nations; and no one has stood before us until this day.

10. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీకిచ్చిన మాటచొప్పున తానే మీకొరకు యుద్ధము చేయువాడు గనుక మీలో ఒకడు వేయిమందిని తరుమును

10. One of you has chased a thousand, for the Lord our God, He fought for you, as He said to us.

11. కాబట్టి మీరు బహు జాగ్రత్తపడి మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవాను ప్రేమింపవలెను.

11. And take great heed to love the Lord our God.

12. అయితే మీరు వెనుకకు తొలగి మీయొద్ద మిగిలి యున్న యీ జనములను హత్తుకొని వారితో వియ్యమంది, వారితో మీరును మీతో వారును సాంగత్యము చేసిన యెడల

12. For if you shall turn aside and attach yourselves to these nations that are left with you, and make marriages with them, and become mingled with them and they with you,

13. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీ యెదుటనుండి యీ జనములను కొట్టివేయుట మానును. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీకిచ్చిన యీ మంచి దేశములో ఉండకుండ మీరు నశించువరకు వారు మీకు ఉరిగాను బోనుగాను మీ ప్రక్కల మీద కొరడాలుగాను మీ కన్నులలో ముళ్లుగాను ఉందురు.

13. know that the Lord will no more destroy these nations from before you; and they will be to you snares and stumbling blocks, and nails in your heels, and darts in your eyes, until you are destroyed from off this good land, which the Lord your God has given you.

14. ఇదిగో నేడు నేను సర్వ లోకుల మార్గమున వెళ్లుచున్నాను. మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీ విషయమై సెలవిచ్చిన మంచి మాటలన్నిటిలో ఒక్కటియైనను తప్పియుండలేదని మీరు అనుభవ పూర్వకముగా ఎరుగుదురు; అవి అన్నియు మీకు కలిగెను, వాటిలో ఒక్కటియైనను తప్పియుండలేదు.

14. But I hasten to go the way [of death], as all that are upon the earth also [do.] And you know in your heart and in your soul, that not one word has fallen [to the ground] of all the words which the Lord our God has spoken respecting all that concerns us; there has not one of them failed.

15. అయితే మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీతో చెప్పిన మేలంతయు మీకు కలిగిన ప్రకారము మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీ కిచ్చిన యీ మంచి దేశములో ఉండకుండ ఆయన మిమ్ము నశింపజేయువరకు యెహోవా మీ మీదికి కీడంతయు రాజేయును.

15. And it shall come to pass, that as all the good things have come upon us which the Lord God [promised you, so shall] He bring upon you all the evil things, until He has destroyed you from off this good land, which the Lord has given you,

16. మీరు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా మీకు నియ మించిన ఆయన నిబంధనను మీరి యితర దేవతలను పూజించి వాటికి నమస్కరించినయెడల యెహోవా కోపము మీ మీద మండును గనుక ఆయన మీకిచ్చిన యీ మంచి దేశ ములో నుండ కుండ మీరు శీఘ్రముగా నశించి పోవుదురు.

16. when you transgress the covenant of the Lord our God, which He has commanded us, and go and serve other gods, and bow down to them.
