1. జనులందరు యొర్దానును దాటుట తుదముట్టిన తరువాత యెహోవా యెహోషువతో నీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

1. And when the people had completely passed over the Jordan, the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,

2. ప్రతిగోత్రమునకు ఒక్కొక మనుష్యుని చొప్పున పన్ని ద్దరు మనుష్యులను ఏర్పరచి

2. Take men from the people, one of each tribe,

3. యాజకుల కాళ్లు నిలిచిన స్థలమున యొర్దాను నడుమనుండి పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను తీసి వాటిని ఇవతలకు తెచ్చి, మీరు ఈ రాత్రి బసచేయు చోట వాటిని నిలువబెట్టుడని వారి కాజ్ఞాపించుము

3. and charge them; and you shall take out of the midst of the Jordan twelve fit stones, and having carried them across together with yourselves, place them in your camp, where you shall encamp for the night.

4. కావున యెహోషువ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో సిద్ధపరచిన పన్నిద్దరు మనుష్యులను, అనగా ప్రతి గోత్రమునకు ఒక్కొక్క మనుష్యుని పిలిపించి

4. And Joshua, having called twelve men of distinction among the children of Israel, one of each tribe,

5. వారితో ఇట్లనెనుయొర్దాను నడుమనున్న మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవా మంద సము నెదుట దాటిపోయి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రముల లెక్క చొప్పున ప్రతివాడును ఒక్కొక రాతిని తన భుజముమీద పెట్టుకొని తేవలెను.

5. said to them, Advance before me in the presence of the Lord into the midst of the Jordan, and each having taken up a stone from there, let him carry it on his shoulders, according to the number of the twelve tribes of Israel,

6. ఇకమీదట మీ కుమారులుఈ రాళ్లెందు కని అడుగునప్పుడు మీరుయెహోవా మందసము నెదుట యొర్దాను నీళ్లు ఏకరాశిగా ఆపబడెను.

6. that these may be to you continually for an appointed sign, that when your son asks you in the future, saying, What are these stones to us?

7. అది యొర్దానును దాటుచుండగా యొర్దాను నీళ్లు ఆపబడెను గనుక యీ రాళ్లు చిరకాలము వరకు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులకు జ్ఞాపకార్థముగా నుండునని వారితో చెప్పవలెను. అది మీకు ఆనవాలై యుండును,

7. then you may explain to your son, saying, The River Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it crossed over; and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel forever.

8. అందుకే దీని చేయవలెను. యెహోషువ ఆజ్ఞాపించినట్లు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులు చేసిరి. యెహోవా యెహోషువతో చెప్పి నట్లు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రముల లెక్కచొప్పున యొర్దాను నడుమనుండి పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను తీసి తాము బసచేసిన చోటికి తెచ్చి అక్కడ నిలువబెట్టిరి.

8. And the children of Israel did so, as the Lord commanded Joshua; and they took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, (as the Lord commanded Joshua, when the children of Israel had completely passed over) and carried these stones with them into the camp, and laid them down there.

9. అప్పుడు యెహోషువ నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకుల కాళ్లు యొర్దాను నడుమ నిలిచిన చోట పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను నిలువ బెట్టించెను. నేటివరకు అవి అక్కడ నున్నవి.

9. And Joshua also set twelve other stones in the Jordan itself, in the place that was under the feet of the priests that bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord; and they are there to this day.

10. ప్రజలతో చెప్పవలెనని యెహోవా యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞా పించినదంతయు, అనగా మోషే యెహోషువకు ఆజ్ఞా పించినదంతయు, నెరవేరువరకు యాజకులు మందసమును మోయుచు యొర్దానునడుమ నిలుచుండగా జనులు త్వరపడి దాటిరి.

10. And the priests that bore the ark of the covenant stood in the Jordan, until Joshua [had] finished all that the Lord commanded him to report to the people; and the people hurried and passed over.

11. జనులందరు దాటిన తరువాత వారు చూచుచుం డగా యెహోవా మందసము మోయు యాజకులు దాటిరి.

11. And it came to pass when all the people had passed over, that the ark of the covenant of the Lord passed over, and the stones before them.

12. మరియు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చూచుచుండగా రూబేనీయు లును గాదీయులును మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రపు వారును మోషే వారితో చెప్పినట్లు యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై దాటిరి.

12. And the sons of Reuben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses commanded them.

13. సేనలో ఇంచుమించు నలువది వేలమంది యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై యుద్ధము చేయుటకు యెహోవా సన్నిధిని యెరికో మైదానములకు దాటివచ్చిరి.

13. Forty thousand armed for battle went over before the Lord to war, to the city of Jericho.

14. ఆ దినమున యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయు లందరి యెదుట యెహోషువను గొప్పచేసెను గనుక వారు మోషేను గౌరవపరచినట్లు అతని బ్రదుకు దినములన్నిటను అతని గౌరవపరచిరి.

14. In that day the Lord magnified Joshua before all the people of Israel; and they feared him, as [they did] Moses, as long as he lived.

15. యెహోవాసాక్ష్యపు మందసమును మోయు యాజ కులకు యొర్దానులోనుండి యివతలికి రండని

15. And the Lord spoke to Joshua, saying,

16. ఆజ్ఞాపించు మని యెహోషువతో సెలవియ్యగా

16. Command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant of the testimony of the Lord, to go up out of the Jordan.

17. యెహోషువ యొర్దానులోనుండి యెక్కి రండని ఆ యాజకుల కాజ్ఞా పించెను.

17. And Joshua charged the priests, saying, Come up from the Jordan.

18. యెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమును మోయు యాజకులు యొర్దాను నడుమనుండి యెక్కి వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆ యాజకుల అరకాళ్లు పొడినేలను నిలువగానే యొర్దాను నీళ్లు వాటిచోటికి ఎప్పటివలెనే మరలి దాని గట్లన్నిటి మీద పొర్లి పారెను.

18. And it came to pass when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord had come up from the midst of the Jordan, and set their feet upon the land, [that] the water of the Jordan returned impetuously to its place, and went as before over all its banks.

19. మొదటి నెల పదియవ తేదిని జనులు యొర్దానులోనుండి యెక్కి వచ్చి యెరికో తూర్పు ప్రాంతమందలి గిల్గాలులో దిగగా

19. And the people went up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month; and the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal in the region eastward from Jericho.

20. వారు యొర్దానులో నుండి తెచ్చిన పండ్రెండు రాళ్లను యెహోషువ గిల్గాలులో నిలువబెట్టించి

20. And Joshua set these twelve stones which he took out of the Jordan, in Gilgal,

21. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులతో ఇట్లనెనురాబోవు కాలమున మీ సంతతివారు ఈ రాళ్లెందుకని తమ తండ్రులను అడుగుదురుగదా;

21. saying, When your sons ask you, saying, What are these stones?

22. అప్పుడు మీరుఇశ్రా యేలీయులు ఆరిన నేలమీద ఈ యొర్దానును దాటిరి.

22. Tell your sons, that Israel went over this Jordan [River] on dry land,

23. ఎట్లనగా యెహోవా బాహువు బలమైనదని భూనివాసు లందరు తెలిసికొనుటకును,

23. when the Lord our God had dried up the water of the Jordan from before them, until they had passed over; as the Lord our God did to the Red Sea, which the Lord our God dried up from before us, until we passed over.

24. మీరు ఎల్లప్పుడును మీ దేవు డైన యెహోవాయందు భయభక్తులు నిలుపుటకును, మేము దాటువరకు మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా తానే మాయెదుట ఎఱ్ఱసముద్రమును ఎండచేసినట్లు మీరు దాటువరకు మీ యెదుట యొర్దాను నీళ్ళను ఎండచేసెనని చెప్పి యీ సంగతి వారికి తెలియపరచవలెను.

24. That all the nations of the earth might know, that the power of the Lord is mighty, and that you might worship the Lord our God in every work.
