1. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తమలో ఎవడును తన కుమార్తెను బెన్యామీనీయుని కియ్యకూడదని మిస్పాలో ప్రమాణము చేసికొనియుండిరి.

1. Now the Israelites had sworn at Mizpah, No one of us shall give his daughter in marriage to Benjamin.

2. ప్రజలు బేతేలుకు వచ్చి దేవుని సన్ని ధిని సాయంకాలమువరకు కూర్చుండి

2. And the people came to Bethel, and sat there until evening before God, and they lifted up their voices and wept bitterly.

3. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవా, నేడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ఒక గోత్రము లేకపోయెను. ఇది ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు సంభ వింపనేల అని బహుగా ఏడ్చిరి.

3. They said, O LORD, the God of Israel, why has it come to pass that today there should be one tribe lacking in Israel?

4. మరునాడు జనులు వేకువనే లేచి అక్కడ బలిపీఠమును కట్టి దహనబలులను సమాధానబలులను అర్పించిరి.

4. On the next day, the people got up early, and built an altar there, and offered burnt offerings and sacrifices of well-being.

5. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములన్నిటిలో మిస్పాలో యెహోవా పక్షమున రాకపోయినవారెవరని విచారించిరి. ఏలయనగా అట్టివారికి నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష విధింప వలెనని ఖండితముగా ప్రమాణము చేసియుండిరి.

5. Then the Israelites said, Which of all the tribes of Israel did not come up in the assembly to the LORD? For a solemn oath had been taken concerning whoever did not come up to the LORD to Mizpah, saying, That one shall be put to death.

6. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు తమ సహోదరులైన బెన్యామీనీయులను గూర్చి పశ్చాత్తాపపడినేడు ఒక గోత్రము ఇశ్రా యేలీయులలో నుండకుండ కొట్టివేయబడియున్నది;

6. But the Israelites had compassion for Benjamin their kin, and said, One tribe is cut off from Israel this day.

7. మిగిలియున్నవారికి భార్యలు దొరుకునట్లు మనము మన కుమార్తెలను వారికి పెండ్లి చేయమని యెహోవా తోడని ప్రమాణము చేసితివిుగదా; వారి విషయములో ఏమి చేయ గలము? అని చెప్పుకొనిరి.

7. What shall we do for wives for those who are left, since we have sworn by the LORD that we will not give them any of our daughters as wives?

8. మరియు వారు ఇశ్రాయేలీ యుల గోత్రములలో యెహోవా పక్షమున మిస్పాకు రానిది ఏదని విచా రింపగా

8. Then they said, Is there anyone from the tribes of Israel who did not come up to the LORD to Mizpah? It turned out that no one from Jabesh-gilead had come to the camp, to the assembly.

9. సమాజమునకుచేరిన యాబేష్గి లాదునుండి సేనలోనికి ఎవడును రాలేదని తేలెను. జన సంఖ్య చేసినప్పుడు యాబేష్గిలాదు నివాసులలో ఒకడును అక్కడ ఉండలేదు.

9. For when the roll was called among the people, not one of the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead was there.

10. కాబట్టి సమాజపు వారు పరా క్రమవంతులైన పండ్రెండు వేలమంది మనుష్యులను పంపించి మీరు పోయి స్త్రీల నేమి పిల్లల నేమి యాబేష్గిలాదు నివాసులనందరిని కత్తివాతను హతము చేయుడి.

10. So the congregation sent twelve thousand soldiers there and commanded them, Go, put the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead to the sword, including the women and the little ones.

11. మీరు చేయవలసినదేమనగా, ప్రతి పురుషుని పురుషసంయోగము నెరిగిన ప్రతి స్త్రీని నశింపజేయవలెనని చెప్పిరి.

11. This is what you shall do; every male and every woman that has lain with a male you shall devote to destruction.

12. యాబేష్గి లాదు నివాసులలో పురుషసంయోగము నెరుగని నాలుగు వందలమంది కన్యలైన స్త్రీలు దొరుకగా కనాను దేశ మందలి షిలోహులోనున్న సేనలోనికి వారిని తీసికొనివచ్చిరి.

12. And they found among the inhabitants of Jabesh-gilead four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man and brought them to the camp at Shiloh, which is in the land of Canaan.

13. ఆ సర్వసమాజము రిమ్మోను కొండలోనున్న బెన్యా మీనీయులతో మాటలాడుటకును వారిని సమాధానపరచు టకును వర్తమానము పంపగా

13. Then the whole congregation sent word to the Benjaminites who were at the rock of Rimmon, and proclaimed peace to them.

14. ఆ వేళను బెన్యా మీనీ యులు తిరిగి వచ్చిరి. అప్పుడు వారు తాము యాబేష్గి లాదు స్త్రీలలో బ్రదుకనిచ్చినవారిని వారికిచ్చి పెండ్లి చేసిరి. ఆ స్త్రీలు వారికి చాలక పోగా

14. Benjamin returned at that time; and they gave them the women whom they had saved alive of the women of Jabesh-gilead; but they did not suffice for them.

15. యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్రములలో లోపము కలుగజేసి యుండుట జనులు చూచి బెన్యామీనీయులనుగూర్చి పశ్చాత్తాపపడిరి.

15. The people had compassion on Benjamin because the LORD had made a breach in the tribes of Israel.

16. సమాజప్రధానులు బెన్యామీను గోత్రములో స్త్రీలు నశించియుండుట చూచి మిగిలినవారికి భార్యలు దొరుకు నట్లు మనమేమి చేయుదమని యోచించుకొని

16. So the elders of the congregation said, What shall we do for wives for those who are left, since there are no women left in Benjamin?

17. ఇశ్రా యేలీయులలోనుండి ఒక గోత్రము తుడిచివేయ బడకుండు నట్లు బెన్యామీనీయులలో తప్పించుకొనిన వారికి స్వాస్థ్య ముండవలెననిరి.

17. And they said, There must be heirs for the survivors of Benjamin, in order that a tribe may not be blotted out from Israel.

18. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ఎవడైనను తన కుమార్తెను బెన్యామీనీయునికి ఇచ్చిన యెడల వాడు నిర్మూలము చేయబడునని ప్రమాణము చేసియున్నాము గనుక మనము మన కుమార్తెలను వారికి పెండ్లి చేయకూడ దని చెప్పుకొనుచుండిరి.

18. Yet we cannot give any of our daughters to them as wives. For the Israelites had sworn, Cursed be anyone who gives a wife to Benjamin.

19. కాగా వారు బెన్యామీనీయు లతో ఇట్లనిరిఇదిగో బేతేలుకు ఉత్తరదిక్కున బేతేలు నుండి షెకెమునకు పోవు రాజమార్గమునకు తూర్పుననున్న లెబోనాకు దక్షిణ దిక్కున యెహోవాకు పండుగ ఏటేట షిలోహులో జరుగునని చెప్పి బెన్యామీనీయులను చూచి

19. So they said, Look, the yearly festival of the LORD is taking place at Shiloh, which is north of Bethel, on the east of the highway that goes up from Bethel to Shechem, and south of Lebonah.

20. మీరు వెళ్లి ద్రాక్షతోటలలో మాటుననుండి షిలోహు స్త్రీలు నాట్యమాడువారితో కలిసి నాట్యమాడుటకు బయలు దేరగా

20. And they instructed the Benjaminites, saying, Go and lie in wait in the vineyards,

21. ద్రాక్షతోటలలోనుండి బయలు దేరివచ్చి పెండ్లి చేసికొనుటకు ప్రతివాడును షిలోహు స్త్రీలలో ఒకదాని పట్టుకొని బెన్యామీనీయుల దేశమునకు పారిపోవుడి.

21. and watch; when the young women of Shiloh come out to dance in the dances, then come out of the vineyards and each of you carry off a wife for himself from the young women of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.

22. తరువాత వారి తండ్రులైనను సహో దరులైనను వాదించుటకు మీయొద్దకు వచ్చినయెడల మేము ఆ యుద్ధమును బట్టి వారిలో ప్రతివానికిని పెండ్లికి స్త్రీ దొరకలేదు గనుక ఈ స్త్రీలను దయచేసి మాకియ్యుడి, ఈ సమయమున వారికిచ్చినయెడల మీరు అపరాధులగుదురు గనుక మాకిచ్చినట్లుగా ఇయ్యుడని వారితో చెప్పెద మనిరి.

22. Then if their fathers or their brothers come to complain to us, we will say to them, 'Be generous and allow us to have them; because we did not capture in battle a wife for each man. But neither did you incur guilt by giving your daughters to them.'

23. కాగా బెన్యామీనీయులు అట్లు చేసి తమ లెక్క చొప్పున నాట్యమాడిన వారిలోనుండి స్త్రీలను పట్టుకొని వారిని తీసికొని పోయి తమ స్వాస్థ్యమునకు వెళ్లి పట్టణములను కట్టి వాటిలో నివసించిరి.

23. The Benjaminites did so; they took wives for each of them from the dancers whom they abducted. Then they went and returned to their territory, and rebuilt the towns, and lived in them.

24. అటుపిమ్మట ఇశ్రా యేలీయులలో ప్రతివాడును అక్కడనుండి తమ గోత్ర స్థానములకును కుటుంబములకును పోయెను. అందరును అక్కడనుండి బయలుదేరి తమ స్వాస్థ్యములకు పోయిరి.

24. So the Israelites departed from there at that time by tribes and families, and they went out from there to their own territories.

25. ఆ దినములలో ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు రాజు లేడు; ప్రతి వాడును తన తన ఇష్టానుసారముగా ప్రవర్తించుచువచ్చెను.

25. In those days there was no king in Israel; all the people did what was right in their own eyes.
