1. బాలుడైన సమూయేలు ఏలీయెదుట యెహోవాకుపరిచర్య చేయుచుండెను. ఆ దినములలో యెహోవా వాక్కు ప్రత్యక్షమగుట అరుదు, ప్రత్యక్షము తరుచుగా తటస్థించుటలేదు.

1. The boy Samuel was Eli's helper and served the Lord with him. At that time the Lord did not speak directly to people very often. There were very few visions.

2. ఆ కాలమందు ఏలీ కన్నులు మంద దృష్టి గలవైనందున అతడు చూడలేక తనస్థలమందు పండు కొనియుండగాను

2. Eli's eyes were getting so weak that he was almost blind. One night he went to his room to go to bed.

3. దీపము ఆరిపోకమునుపు సమూయేలు దేవుని మందసమున్న యెహోవా మందిరములో పండు కొనియుండగాను

3. The special lamp in the temple was still burning, so Samuel lay down in the temple near where the Holy Box was.

4. యెహోవా సమూయేలును పిలిచెను. అతడుచిత్తమండి నేనున్నానని చెప్పి

4. The Lord called Samuel, and Samuel answered, 'Here I am.'

5. ఏలీదగ్గరకు పోయినీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివి గదా నేను వచ్చినాననెను. అతడునేను పిలువలేదు, పోయి పండుకొమ్మని చెప్పగా అతడు పోయి పండుకొనెను.

5. Samuel thought Eli was calling him, so he ran to Eli and said, 'Here I am. You called me.' But Eli said, 'I didn't call you. Go back to bed.' So Samuel went back to bed.

6. యెహోవా మరల సమూ యేలును పిలువగా సమూయేలు లేచి ఏలీయొద్దకు పోయిచిత్తము నీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివి గనుక వచ్చితిననెను. అయితే అతడు నా కుమారుడా, నేను నిన్ను పిలువలేదు, పోయి పండుకొమ్మనెను.

6. Again the Lord called, 'Samuel!' Again Samuel ran to Eli and said, 'Here I am. You called me.' Eli said, 'I didn't call you. Go back to bed.'

7. సమూయేలు అప్పటికి యెహో వాను ఎరుగకుండెను, యెహోవా వాక్కు అతనికి ఇంక ప్రత్యక్షము కాలేదు.

7. Samuel did not yet know the Lord because the Lord had not spoken directly to him before.

8. యెహోవా మూడవ మారు సమూయేలును పిలువగా అతడు లేచి ఏలీ దగ్గరకు పోయిచిత్తము నీవు నన్ను పిలిచితివే; యిదిగో వచ్చితిననగా, ఏలీ యెహోవా ఆ బాలుని పిలిచెనని గ్రహించి

8. The Lord called Samuel the third time. Again Samuel got up and went to Eli and said, 'Here I am. You called me.' Finally, Eli understood that the Lord was calling the boy.

9. నీవు పోయి, పండుకొమ్ము, ఎవరైన నిన్ను పిలిచినయెడలయెహోవా, నీ దాసుడు ఆలకించుచున్నాడు, ఆజ్ఞనిమ్మని చెప్పుమని సమూయేలుతో అనగా సమూయేలు పోయి తన స్థలమందు పండుకొనెను.

9. Eli told Samuel, 'Go to bed. If he calls you again, say, 'Speak, Lord. I amyour servant, and I am listening.'' So Samuel went back to bed.

10. తరువాత యెహోవా ప్రత్యక్షమై నిలిచి ఆ రీతిగాసమూయేలూ సమూ యేలూ, అని పిలువగా సమూయేలునీ దాసుడు ఆల కించుచున్నాడు ఆజ్ఞయిమ్మనెను.

10. The Lord came and stood there. He called as he did before, saying, 'Samuel, Samuel!' Samuel said, 'Speak. I am your servant, and I am listening.'

11. అంతట యెహోవా సమూయేలుతో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనుఇశ్రాయేలులో నేనొకకార్యము చేయబోవుచున్నాను; దానిని వినువారందరి చెవులు గింగురుమనును.

11. The Lord said to Samuel, 'I will soon do things in Israel that will shock anyone who hears about them.

12. ఆ దినమున ఏలీయొక్క యింటివారినిగురించి నేను చెప్పినదంతయు వారిమీదికి రప్పింతును. దాని చేయ మొదలుపెట్టి దాని ముగింతును.

12. I will do everything I said I would do against Eli and his family, everything from the beginning to the end.

13. తన కుమారులు తమ్మును తాము శాపగ్రస్తులగా చేసికొను చున్నారని తానెరిగియు వారిని అడ్డగించలేదు గనుక అతని యింటికి నిత్యమైన శిక్ష విధింతునని నేను అతనికి తెలియజేయుచున్నాను.

13. I told Eli I would punish his family forever. I will do this because Eli knew his sons were saying and doing bad things against God. But he failed to control them.

14. కాబట్టి ఏలీ యింటివారి దోషమునకు బలిచేతనైనను నైవేద్యముచేతనైనను ఎన్నటికిని ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము జేయబడదని నేను ప్రమాణపూర్వకముగా ఆజ్ఞా పించితిని.

14. That is why I swore an oath that sacrifices and grain offerings will never take away the sins of the people in Eli's family. '

15. తరువాత సమూయేలు ఉదయమగువరకు పండుకొని, లేచి యెహోవా మందిరపు తలుపులను తీసెనుగాని, భయపడి తనకు కలిగిన దర్శన సంగతి ఏలీతో చెప్పక పోయెను.

15. Samuel lay down in bed until the morning came. He got up early and opened the doors of the Lord's house. Samuel was afraid to tell Eli about the vision.

16. అయితే ఏలీసమూయేలూ నా కుమారుడా, అని సమూయేలును పిలువగా అతడు చిత్తము నేనిక్కడ ఉన్నాననెను.

16. But Eli said to Samuel, 'Samuel, my son.' Samuel answered, 'Yes, sir.'

17. ఏలీనీతో యెహోవా యేమి సెలవిచ్చెనో మరుగుచేయక దయచేసి నాతో చెప్పుము. ఆయన నీతో సెలవిచ్చిన సంగతులలో ఏదైన నీవు మరుగుచేసినయెడల అంతకంటె అధికమైన కీడు ఆయన నీకు కలుగజేయునుగాకని చెప్పగా

17. Eli asked, 'What did the Lord say to you? Don't hide it from me. God will punish you if you hide anything from the message he spoke to you.'

18. సమూయేలు దేనిని మరుగుచేయక సంగతి అంతయు అతనికి తెలియజెప్పెను. ఏలీ వినిసెలవిచ్చినవాడు యెహోవా; తన దృష్ఠికి అనుకూలమైనదానిని ఆయన చేయునుగాక అనెను.

18. So Samuel told Eli everything. He did not hide anything from Eli. Eli said, 'He is the Lord. Let him do whatever he thinks is right.'

19. సమూయేలు పెద్దవాడు కాగా యెహోవా అతనికి తోడైయున్నందున అతని మాటలలో ఏదియు తప్పిపోలేదు.

19. The Lord was with Samuel while he grew up. He did not let any of Samuel's messages prove false.

20. కాబట్టి సమూయేలు యెహోవాకు ప్రవక్తగా స్థిరపడెనని దాను మొదలుకొని బెయేర్షెబా వరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు తెలిసికొనిరి

20. Then all Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, knew that Samuel was a true prophet of the Lord.

21. మరియు షిలోహులో యెహోవా మరల దర్శనమిచ్చుచుండెను. షిలోహులో యెహోవా తన వాక్కు చేత సమూయేలునకు ప్రత్యక్షమగుచు వచ్చెను. సమూయేలుమాట ఇశ్రా యేలీయులందరిలో వెల్లడియాయెను.

21. And the Lord continued to appear to Samuel at Shiloh. He revealed himself to Samuel as the word of the Lord.
