1. యహోవా మందసము ఏడు నెలలు ఫిలిష్తీయుల దేశమందుండిన తరువాత

1. And it came to pass, that the ark of Yahweh was in the country of the Philistines, seven months.

2. ఫిలిష్తీయుల యాజకులను శకు నము చూచువారిని పిలువనంపించియెహోవా మందస మును ఏమి చేయుదుము? ఏమి చేసి స్వస్థలమునకు దానిని పంపుదుమో తెలియజెప్పుడనగా

2. Then called the Philistines for the priests and for the diviners, saying, What shall we do with the ark of Yahweh? Let us know, wherewith we shall send it to its own place.

3. వారుఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుని మందసమును పంపివేయ నుద్దేశించినయెడల ఊరకయే పంపక, యే విధముచేతనైనను ఆయనకు అప రాధార్థమైన అర్పణము చెల్లించి పంపవలెను. అప్పుడు మీరు స్వస్థతనొంది ఆయన హస్తము మీ మీదనుండి యెందుకు తియ్యబడక యుండెనో మీరు తెలిసికొందు రనిరి.

3. And they said If ye are going to send away the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it away, empty, but ye must, surely return, to him, a guilt-offering, then, shall ye be healed, and it shall be known to you, wherefore his hand would not turn away from you.

4. ఫలిష్తీయులుమనము ఆయనకు చెల్లింపవలసిన అపరాధార్థమైన అర్పణమేదని వారినడుగగా వారుమీ అందరిమీదను మీ సర్దారులందరి మీదను ఉన్నతెగులు ఒక్కటే గనుక, ఫిలిష్తీయుల సర్దారుల లెక్క చొప్పున అయిదు బంగారపు గడ్డల రూపములను, అయిదు బంగారపు పందికొక్కులను చెల్లింపవలెను.

4. And they said What shall be the guilt-offering, that we shall return to him? And they said By the number of the lords of the Philistines, five tumours of gold, and five mice of gold, for, one plague, was on you all, and on your lords.

5. కాబట్టి మీకు కలిగిన గడ్డలుగాను భూమిని పాడుచేయు పంది కొక్కులుగాను నిరూపించబడిన గడ్డలను చుంచులను చేసి పంపించి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవునికి మహిమను చెల్లింప వలెను. అప్పుడు మీ మీదను మీ దేవతలమీదను మీ భూమిమీదను భారముగా నున్న తన హస్తమును ఆయన తీసివేయును కాబోలు.

5. Wherefore ye shall make likenesses of your turnouts, and likenesses of your mice that are laying waste the land, and shall, give unto the, God of Israel, glory, Peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your god, and from off your land.

6. ఐగుప్తీయులును ఫరోయును తమ హృదయములను కఠినపరచుకొనినట్లు మీ హృద యములను మీరెందుకు కఠినపరచుకొందురు? ఆయన వారిలో అద్భుతకార్యములను చేయగా వారు ఈ జనులను పోనిచ్చిరి; ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు వెళ్లిపోయిరి గదా.

6. Wherefore, then, should ye make your heart dull, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh made their heart dull! When he had done his great doings upon them, did they not let them go, and they departed?

7. కాబట్టి మీరు క్రొత్త బండి ఒకటి చేయించి, కాడిమోయని పాడి ఆవులను రెంటిని తోలితెచ్చి బండికి కట్టి వాటి దూడలను వాటి దగ్గరనుండి యింటికి తోలి

7. Now, therefore, take and get ready, one new waggon, and two milch kine, whereon hath never come yoke, then shall ye fasten the kine in the waggon, and withdraw their calves from them, into the shed;

8. యెహోవా మందసమును ఆ బండిమీద ఎత్తి, అపరా ధార్థముగా ఆయనకు మీరు అర్పింపవలసిన బంగారపు వస్తువులను దాని ప్రక్కనే చిన్న పెట్టెలో ఉంచి అది మార్గమున పోవునట్లుగా విడిచిపెట్టుడి.

8. and ye shall take the ark of Yahweh, and place it in the waggon, also, the jewels of gold which ye send back to him as a guilt-offering, shall ye put into a coffer, at the side thereof, so shall ye let it go, and it shall depart.

9. అది బేత్షెమెషుకు పోవు మార్గమున బడి యీ దేశపు సరిహద్దు దాటిన యెడల ఆయనే యీ గొప్పకీడు మనకు చేసెనని తెలిసి కొనవచ్చును; ఆ మార్గమున పోనియెడల ఆయన మనలను మొత్తలేదనియు, మన అదృష్టవశముచేతనే అది మనకు సంభవించెననియు తెలిసికొందు మనిరి.

9. Then shall ye look if, by the way of its own boundary, it goeth up to Beth-shemesh, he, it was who caused us this great affliction, but, if not, then shall we know that it was not, his hand, that smote us, a chance, it was, that befell us.

10. వారు ఆలా గున రెండు పాడి ఆవులను తోలితెచ్చి బండికి కట్టి వాటి దూడలను ఇంటిలోపల పెట్టి

10. The men, therefore, did so, and took two milch kine, and fastened them in the waggon, but, their calves, shut they up in the shed.

11. యెహోవా మందసమును బంగారు గడ్డలును పందికొక్కు రూపములును గల ఆ చిన్న పెట్టెను బండిమీద ఎత్తగా

11. And they put the ark of Yahweh, into the waggon, also the coffer, with the mice of gold, and the likenesses of their tumours.

12. ఆ ఆవులు రాజ మార్గమునబడి చక్కగా పోవుచు అరచుచు, బేత్షెమెషు మార్గమున నడిచెను. ఫిలిష్తీయుల సర్దారులు వాటి వెంబ డియే బేత్షెమెషు సరిహద్దు వరకు పోయిరి.

12. And the kine went straight along the road, on the way to Beth-shemesh, yea, along the main highway, they went, lowing as they went, turning not aside, to the right hand or to the left. And, the lords of the Philistines, went along after them, as far as the bounds of Beth-shemesh.

13. బేత్షెమెషువారు లోయలో తమ గోధుమచేలను కోయుచుండిరి; వారు కన్నులెత్తి చూడగా మందసము వారికి కనబడెను, దానిని చూచి వారు సంతోషించిరి.

13. Now, they of Beth-shemesh, were reaping their wheat-harvest in the vale, so they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to meet it.

14. ఆ బండి బేత్షెమెషు వాడైన యెహోషువయొక్క పొలములోనికి వచ్చి అక్కడనున్న ఒక పెద్ద రాతిదగ్గర నిలువగా, వారు బండి యొక్క కఱ్ఱలను చీల్చి ఆవులను యెహోవాకు దహన బలిగా అర్పించిరి.

14. And, the waggon, entered into the field of Joshua, a man of Beth-shemesh, and stood still, there, where also, was a great stone, so they clave into pieces the planks of the waggon, and, the kine, offered they up as an ascending-sacrifice, unto Yahweh.

15. లేవీయులు యెహోవా మందసమును బంగారపు వస్తువులుగల ఆ చిన్న పెట్టెను దించి ఆ పెద్ద రాతిమీద ఉంచగా, ఆ దినమున బేత్షెమెషువారు యెహోవాకు దహనబలులను అర్పించి బలులను వధించిరి.

15. And, the Levites, took down the ark of Yahweh, and the coffer that was with it, wherein were the jewels of gold, and put them upon the great stone, and, the men of Beth-shemesh, caused to go up ascending-offerings and offered sacrifices, that day, unto Yahweh.

16. ఫిలిష్తీయుల సర్దారులు అయిదుగురు అంతవరకు చూచి నాడే ఎక్రోనునకు తిరిగి వెళ్లిరి

16. And, the five lords of the Philistines, saw it, and returned unto Ekron, the same day.

17. అపరాధార్థమైన అర్పణగా ఫిలిష్తీయులు చెల్లించిన బంగారపు గడ్డలు ఏవనగా, అష్డోదువారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, గాజావారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, అష్కెలోను వారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, గాతువారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి, ఎక్రోనువారి నిమిత్తము ఒకటి.

17. Now, these, are the golden boils which, the Philistines returned as a guilt-offering unto Yahweh, For Ashdod, one, for Gaza, one, for Ashkelon, one, for Gath, one, for Ekron, one;

18. ప్రాకారముగల పట్టణములవారేమి పొలములోని గ్రామములవారేమి ఫిలిష్తీయుల అయిదుగురు సర్దారుల పట్టణములన్నిటి లెక్క చొప్పున బంగారపు పంది కొక్కులను అర్పించిరి. వారు యెహోవా మందసమును దింపిన పెద్దరాయి దీనికి సాక్ష్యము. నేటివరకు ఆ రాయి బేత్షెమెషు వాడైన యెహోషువయొక్క పొలములో నున్నది.

18. And the golden mice, by the number of all the cities of the Philistines, pertaining to the five lords, both fortified cities, and country villages, yea, even the great meadow whereon they rested the ark of Yahweh, until this day, is in the field-land of Joshua, the man of Beth-shemesh.

19. బేత్షెమెషువారు యెహోవా మందసమును తెరచి చూడగా దేవుడు వారిని హతముచేసి ఆ జనులలో ఏబది వేల డెబ్బదిమందిని మొత్తెను. యెహోవా గొప్ప దెబ్బతో అనేకులను మొత్తగా జనులు దుఃఖా క్రాంతులైరి.

19. And, when he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they looked into the ark of Yahweh, yea smote of the people seventy men and fifty thousand men, the people mourned, for that Yahweh had smitten the people with a great smiting.

20. అప్పుడు బేత్షెమెషువారు పరిశుద్ధదేవుడైన యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఎవరు నిలువగలరు? మనయొద్దనుండి ఆయన ఎవరియొద్దకు పోవలెనని చెప్పి

20. Then said the men of Beth-shemesh, Who is able to stand before Yahweh, this holy God? and, unto whom, shall he go up from us?

21. కిర్యత్యారీము కాపురస్థులకు దూతలను పంపిఫిలిష్తీయులు యెహోవా మందసమును మరల తీసికొని వచ్చిరి; మీరు వచ్చి మీ దాపునకు దానిని తీసికొని పోవలెనని వర్తమానము పంపిరి.

21. And they sent messengers unto the inhabitants of Kiriath-jearim, saying, The Philistines have returned the ark of Yahweh, come down, fetch it up unto you.
