1. భూమియందంతట ఒక్క భాషయు ఒక్క పలుకును ఉండెను.

1. The whole world had only one language. All people spoke it.

2. వారు తూర్పున ప్రయాణమై పోవుచుండగా షీనారు దేశమందొక మైదానము వారికి కనబడెను. అక్కడ వారు నివసించి

2. They moved to the east and found a broad valley in Babylonia. There they settled down.

3. మనము ఇటికలు చేసి బాగుగా కాల్చుదము రండని ఒకనితో ఒకడు మాటలాడుకొనిరి. రాళ్లకు ప్రతిగా ఇటికలును, అడుసునకు ప్రతిగా మట్టికీలును వారికుండెను.

3. They said to each other, 'Come. Let's make bricks and bake them well.' They used bricks instead of stones. They used tar to hold the bricks together.

4. మరియు వారు మనము భూమియందంతట చెదిరిపోకుండ ఒక పట్టణమును ఆకాశమునంటు శిఖరము గల ఒక గోపురమును కట్టుకొని, పేరు సంపాదించుకొందము రండని మాటలాడుకొనగా

4. Then they said, 'Come. Let's build a city for ourselves. Let's build a tower that reaches to the sky. We'll make a name for ourselves. Then we won't be scattered over the face of the whole earth.'

5. యెహోవా నరుల కుమారులు కట్టిన పట్టణమును గోపురమును చూడ దిగి వచ్చెను.

5. But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building.

6. అప్పుడు యెహోవా ఇదిగో జనము ఒక్కటే; వారికందరికి భాష ఒక్కటే; వారు ఈ పని ఆరంభించి యున్నారు. ఇకమీదట వారు చేయదలచు ఏపని యైనను చేయకుండ వారికి ఆటంకమేమియు నుండదు.

6. The Lord said, 'They are one people. And all of them speak the same language. That is why they can do this. Now they will be able to do anything they plan to.

7. గనుక మనము దిగిపోయి వారిలో ఒకని మాట ఒకనికి తెలియకుండ అక్కడ వారి భాషను తారుమారు చేయుదము రండని అనుకొనెను.

7. Come. Let us go down and mix up their language. Then they will not understand each other.'

8. ఆలాగు యెహోవా అక్కడ నుండి భూమియందంతట వారిని చెదరగొట్టెను గనుక వారు ఆ పట్టణమును కట్టుటమానిరి.

8. So the Lord scattered them from there over the whole earth. And they stopped building the city.

9. దానికి బాబెలు అను పేరు పెట్టిరి; ఎందుకనగా అక్కడ యెహోవా భూజనులందరి భాషను తారుమారుచేసెను. అక్కడ నుండి యెహోవా భూమియందంతట వారిని చెదరగొట్టెను.

9. The Lord mixed up the language of the whole world there. That's why the city was named Babel. From there the Lord scattered them over the face of the whole earth.

10. షేము వంశావళి ఇది. షేము నూరేండ్లుగలవాడై జలప్రవాహము గతించిన రెండేండ్లకు అర్పక్షదును కనెను.

10. Here is the story of Shem. It was two years after the flood. When Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad.

11. షేము అర్పక్షదును కనిన తరువాత ఐదువందలయేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

11. After Arphaxad was born, Shem lived 500 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

12. అర్పక్షదు ముప్పది యైదేండ్లు బ్రదికి షేలహును కనెను.

12. When Arphaxad had lived 35 years, he became the father of Shelah.

13. అర్పక్షదు షేలహును కనిన తరువాత నాలుగు వందల మూడేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

13. After Shelah was born, Arphaxad lived 403 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

14. షేలహు ముప్పది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి ఏబెరును కనెను.

14. When Shelah had lived 30 years, he became the father of Eber.

15. షేలహు ఏబెరును కనిన తరువాత నాలుగు వందల మూడేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

15. After Eber was born, Shelah lived 403 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

16. ఏబెరు ముప్పది నాలుగేండ్లు బ్రదికి పెలెగును కనెను.

16. When Eber had lived 34 years, he became the father of Peleg.

17. ఏబెరు పెలెగును కనిన తరువాత నాలుగువందల ముప్పది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

17. After Peleg was born, Eber lived 430 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

18. పెలెగు ముప్పది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి రయూను కనెను.

18. When Peleg had lived 30 years, he became the father of Reu.

19. పెలెగు రయూను కనిన తరువాత రెండువందల తొమ్మిది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

19. After Reu was born, Peleg lived 209 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

20. రయూ ముప్పది రెండేండ్లు బ్రదికి సెరూగును కనెను.

20. When Reu had lived 32 years, he became the father of Serug.

21. రయూ సెరూగును కనిన తరువాత రెండు వందల ఏడేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

21. After Serug was born, Reu lived 207 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

22. సెరూగు ముప్పది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి నాహోరును కనెను.

22. When Serug had lived 30 years, he became the father of Nahor.

23. సెరూగు నాహోరును కనిన తరువాత రెండువందల యేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

23. After Nahor was born, Serug lived 200 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

24. నాహోరు ఇరువది తొమ్మిది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి తెరహును కనెను.

24. When Nahor had lived 29 years, he became the father of Terah.

25. నాహోరు తెరహును కనిన తరువాత నూటపం దొమ్మిది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి కుమారులను కుమార్తెలను కనెను.

25. After Terah was born, Nahor lived 119 years. And he had other sons and daughters.

26. తెరహు డెబ్బది యేండ్లు బ్రదికి అబ్రామును నాహోరును హారానును కనెను.

26. Terah lived for 70 years. Then he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran.

27. తెరహు వంశావళి ఇది; తెరహు అబ్రామును నాహోరును హారానును కనెను. హారాను లోతును కనెను.

27. Here is the story of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.

28. హారాను తాను పుట్టిన దేశమందలి కల్దీయుల ఊరను పట్టణములో తన తండ్రియైన తెరహు కంటె ముందుగా మృతి బొందెను.

28. Haran died in Ur in Babylonia. That was the land where he had been born. Haran died while his father Terah was still alive.

29. అబ్రామును నాహోరును వివాహము చేసికొనిరి. అబ్రాము భార్య పేరు శారయి; నాహోరు భార్య పేరు మిల్కా, ఆమె మిల్కాకును ఇస్కాకును తండ్రియైన హారాను కుమార్తె.

29. Abram and Nahor both got married. The name of Abram's wife was Sarai. The name of Nahor's wife was Milcah. She was the daughter of Haran. Haran was the father of Milcah and Iscah.

30. శారయి గొడ్రాలై యుండెను. ఆమెకు సంతానములేదు.

30. But Sarai wasn't able to have children.

31. తెరహు తన కుమారుడగు అబ్రామును, తన కుమారుని కుమారుడు, అనగా హారాను కుమారుడగు లోతును, తన కుమారుడగు అబ్రాము భార్యయయిన శారయి అను తన కోడలిని తీసికొని కనానుకు వెళ్ళుటకు కల్దీయుల ఊరను పట్టణములో నుండి వారితోకూడ బయలుదేరి హారాను మట్టుకు వచ్చి అక్కడ నివసించిరి.

31. Terah started out from Ur in Babylonia. He took his son Abram with him. He also took his grandson Lot. Lot was the son of Haran. And Terah took his daughter-in-law Sarai. She was the wife of his son Abram. All of them left together to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled down.

32. తెరహు బ్రదికిన దినములు రెండువందల యైదేండ్లు. తెరహు హారానులో మృతి బొందెను.

32. Terah lived for 205 years. He died in Haran.
