1. శారా జీవించిన కాలము, అనగా శారా బ్రదికిన యేండ్లు నూట ఇరువది యేడు.

1. When Sarah was an hundreth twentie and seuen yeere olde (so long liued she).

2. శారా కనాను దేశమందలి హెబ్రోనను కిర్యతర్బాలో మృతిబొందెను; అప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము శారా నిమిత్తము అంగలార్చుటకును ఆమెను గూర్చి యేడ్చుటకును వచ్చెను.

2. Then Sarah dyed in Kiriath-arba: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. and Abraham came to mourne for Sarah and to weepe for her.

3. తరువాత అబ్రాహాము మృతిబొందిన తన భార్య యెదుట నుండి లేచి హేతు కుమారులను చూచి

3. Then Abraham rose vp from the sight of his corps, and talked with the Hittites, saying,

4. మీ మధ్య నేను పరదేశినిగాను పరవాసినిగాను ఉన్నాను. మృతిబొందిన నా భార్య నా కన్నుల యెదుట ఉండకుండ, ఆమెను పాతి పెట్టుటకు మీ తావున నాకొక శ్మశానభూమిని స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇయ్యుడని అడుగగా

4. I am a stranger, and a forreiner among you, giue me a possession of buriall with you, that I may burie my dead out of my sight.

5. హేతు కుమారులు అయ్యా మా మాట వినుము. నీవు మా మధ్యను మహారాజవై యున్నావు;

5. Then the Hittites answered Abraham, saying vnto him,

6. మా శ్మశాన భూములలో అతి శ్రేష్టమైన దానియందు మృతిబొందిన నీ భార్యను పాతిపెట్టుము; నీవు మృతిబొందిన నీ భార్యను పాతి పెట్టునట్లు మాలో తన శ్మశానభూమి ఇయ్యనొల్లనివాడు ఎవడును లేడని అబ్రాహాము కుత్తరమిచ్చిరి.

6. Heare vs, my lorde: thou art a prince of God among vs: in the chiefest of our sepulchres bury thy dead: none of vs shall forbid thee his sepulchre, but thou mayest bury thy dead therein.

7. అప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము లేచి ఆ దేశపు ప్రజలైన హేతు కుమారులకు సాగిలపడి

7. Then Abraham stoode vp, and bowed him selfe before the people of the land of the Hittites.

8. మృతిబొందిన నా భార్యను నా యెదుట ఉండకుండ నేను పాతి పెట్టుట మీకిష్టమైతే నా మాట వినుడి.

8. And he communed with them, saying, If it be your minde, that I shall bury my dead out of my sight, heare me, and intreate for me to Ephron the sonne of Zohar,

9. సోహరు కుమారుడైన ఎఫ్రోను తన పొలము చివరను తనకు కలిగియున్న మక్పేలా గుహను నాకిచ్చునట్లు నా పక్షముగా అతనితో మనవిచేయుడి. మీ మధ్యను శ్మశాన భూమిగా నుండుటకు నిండు వెలకు అతడు దానిని నాకు స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇయ్యవలెనని వారితో చెప్పెను.

9. That he would giue me ye caue of Machpelah, which he hath in the ende of his field: that he would giue it me for as much money as it is worth, for a possession to bury in among you.

10. అప్పుడు ఎఫ్రోను హేతు కుమారులమధ్యను కూర్చుండి యుండెను. హిత్తీయుడైన ఎఫ్రోను తన ఊరి గవిని ప్రవేశించువారందరి యెదుట హేతు కుమారులకు వినబడునట్లు అబ్రాహాముతో చెప్పిన ప్రత్యుత్తరమేమనగా

10. (For Ephron dwelt among the Hittites) Then Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of all the Hittites that went in at the gates of his citie, saying,

11. అయ్యా అట్లు కాదు నా మనవి నాలకించుము, ఆ పొలమును నీకిచ్చుచున్నాను; దానిలో నున్న గుహను నీకిచ్చుచున్నాను; నా ప్రజల యెదుట అది నీకిచ్చుచున్నాను; మృతిబొందిన నీ భార్యను పాతి పెట్టుమనెను

11. No, my Lord, heare me: the fielde giue I thee, and the caue, that therein is, I giue it thee: euen in the presence of the sonnes of my people giue I it thee, to bury thy dead.

12. అప్పుడు అబ్రాహాము ఆ దేశపు ప్రజల యెదుట సాగిలపడి

12. Then Abraham bowed himselfe before the people of the land,

13. సరేకాని నా మనవి ఆలకించుము. ఆ పొలమునకు వెల యిచ్చెదను; అది నాయొద్ద పుచ్చుకొనిన యెడల మృతిబొందిన నా భార్యను పాతి పెట్టెదనని ఆ దేశ ప్రజలకు వినబడు నట్లు ఎఫ్రోనుతో చెప్పెను.

13. And spake vnto Ephron in the audience of the people of the countrey, saying, Seeing thou wilt giue it, I pray thee, heare me, I will giue the price of the fielde: receiue it of me, and I will bury my dead there.

14. అందుకు ఎఫ్రోను అయ్యా నా మాట వినుము; ఆ భూమి నాలుగు వందల తులముల వెండి చేయును;

14. Ephron then answered Abraham, saying vnto him,

15. నాకు నీకు అది యెంత? మృతిబొందిన నీ భార్యను పాతిపెట్టుమని అబ్రాహామున కుత్తరమిచ్చెను;

15. My lord, hearken vnto me: ye land is worth foure hundreth shekels of siluer: what is that betweene me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.

16. అబ్రాహాము ఎఫ్రోను మాట వినెను. కాబట్టి హేతు కుమారులకు వినబడునట్లు ఎఫ్రోను చెప్పిన వెల అనగా వర్తకులలో చెల్లు నాలుగు వందల తులముల వెండి అబ్రాహాము తూచి అతని కిచ్చెను.

16. So Abraham hearkened vnto Ephron, and Abraham weyed to Ephron the siluer, which he had named, in the audience of the Hittites, euen foure hundreth siluer shekels of currant money among marchants.

17. ఆలాగున మమ్రే యెదుటనున్న మక్పేలా యందలి ఎఫ్రోను పొలము, అనగా ఆ పొలమును దానియందలి గుహయు దాని పొలిమేర అంతటి లోనున్న ఆ పొలము చెట్లన్నియు,

17. So the fielde of Ephron which was in Machpelah, and ouer against Mamre, euen the field and the caue that was therein, and all the trees that were in the fielde, which were in all the borders round about, was made sure

18. అతని ఊరి గవిని ప్రవేశించు వారందరిలో హేతు కుమారుల యెదుట అబ్రాహామునకు స్వాస్థ్యముగా స్థిరపరచబడెను.

18. Vnto Abraham for a possession, in ye sight of the Hittites, euen of all that went in at the gates of his citie.

19. ఆ తరువాత అబ్రాహాము కనాను దేశములో హెబ్రోనను మమ్రే యెదుట నున్న మక్పేలా పొలము గుహలో తన భార్యయైన శారాను పాతిపెట్టెను.

19. And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the caue of the fielde of Machpelah ouer against Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan.

20. ఆ పొలమును దానిలోనున్న గుహయు హేతు కుమారుల వలన శ్మశానము కొరకు అబ్రాహామునకు స్వాస్థ్యముగా స్థిరపరచబడెను.

20. Thus the fielde and the caue, that is therein, was made sure vnto Abraham for a possession of buriall by the Hittites.
