1. అబ్రాహాము దినములలో వచ్చిన మొదటి కరవు గాక మరియొక కరవు ఆ దేశములో వచ్చెను. అప్పడు ఇస్సాకు గెరారులోనున్న ఫిలిష్తీయుల రాజైన అబీమెలెకు నొద్దకు వెళ్లెను.

1. And there came to be a famine in the land, besides the first famine which happened in the days of Abraham, so Isaac went his way unto Abimelech, king of the Philistines towards Gerar;

2. అక్కడ యెహోవా అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమై నీవు ఐగుప్తులోనికి వెళ్లక నేను నీతో చెప్పు దేశమందు నివసించుము.

2. and Yahweh appeared unto him, and said, do not go down towards Egypt, Make thy habitation in the land, which I may name unto thee:

3. ఈ దేశమందు పరవాసివై యుండుము. నేను నీకు తోడైయుండి నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించెదను;
హెబ్రీయులకు 11:9

3. Sojourn in this land, that I may be with thee and bless thee, for, to thee, and to thy seed, will I give all these lands, So will I establish the oath which I sware to Abraham thy father;

4. ఏలయనగా నీకును నీ సంతానమునకును ఈ దేశములన్నియు ఇచ్చి, నీ తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాముతో నేను చేసిన ప్రమాణము నెరవేర్చి, ఆకాశ నక్షత్రములవలె నీ సంతానమును విస్తరింపచేసి ఈ దేశములన్నియు నీ సంతానమునకు ఇచ్చెదను. నీ సంతానమువలన సమస్త భూలోకములోని సమస్త జనులు ఆశీర్వదింపబడుదురు.

4. and will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heavens, and will give to thy seed, all these lands, And all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves in thy seed:

5. ఏలయనగా అబ్రాహాము నా మాట విని నేను విధించిన దాని నా ఆజ్ఞలను నా కట్టడలను నా నియమములను గైకొనెనని చెప్పెను.

5. Because that Abraham hearkened unto my voice, and so kept my charge, my commandments my statutes and my laws.

6. ఇస్సాకు గెరారులో నివసించెను.

6. So Isaac dwelt in Gerar.

7. ఆ చోటి మనుష్యులు అతని భార్యను చూచి - ఆమె యెవరని అడిగినప్పుడు అతడు ఆమె నా సహోదరి అని చెప్పెను; ఎందుకనగా - రిబ్కా చక్కనిది గనుక ఈ చోటి మనుష్యులు ఆమె నిమిత్తము నన్ను చంపుదురేమో అనుకొని తన భార్య అని చెప్పుటకు భయపడెను.

7. Then asked the men of the place as to his wife, and he said, My sister, is she, For he feared to say My wife, lest said he the men of the place should slay me on account of Rebekah, for fair to Nook on, she is.

8. అక్కడ అతడు చాలా దినములుండిన తరువాత ఫిలిష్తీయుల రాజైన అబీమెలెకు కిటికీలో నుండి చూచినప్పుడు ఇస్సాకు తన భార్యయైన రిబ్కాతో సరసమాడుట కనబడెను.

8. And it came to pass when the days had lengthened out to him there, that Abimelech king of the Philistines, looked out through the lattice of a window, and he beheld and lo! Isaac laughing with Rebekah his wife.

9. అప్పుడు అబీమెలెకు ఇస్సాకును పిలిపించి ఇదిగో ఆమె నీ భార్యయే ఆమె నా సహోదరి అని యేల చెప్పితివని అడుగగా ఇస్సాకు ఆమెను బట్టి నేను చనిపోవుదు నేమో అనుకొంటినని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

9. So Abimelech called for Isaac, and said, But to she is, thy wife! How then, saidst thou, She is, my sister? And Isaac said unto him, Because, I said, Lest I die on her account.

10. అందుకు అబీమెలెకు నీవు మాకు చేసిన యీ పని యేమి? ఈ జనులలో ఎవడైన ఆమెతో నిర్భయముగా శయనించవచ్చునే. అప్పుడు నీవు మామీదికి పాతకము తెచ్చిపెట్టు వాడవుగదా అనెను.

10. Then, said, Abimelech, What is this thou hast done to us? A little more, and one of the people might have lien with thy wife, so shouldst thou have brought upon us, guilt.

11. అబీమెలెకు ఈ మనుష్యుని జోలికైనను ఇతని భార్య జోలికైనను వెళ్లు వాడు నిశ్చయముగా మరణశిక్ష పొందునని తన ప్రజల కందరికి ఆజ్ఞాపింపగా

11. And Abimelech commanded all the people saying, He that toucheth this man or his wife, shall surely be put to death

12. ఇస్సాకు ఆ దేశమందున్నవాడై విత్తనము వేసి ఆ సంవత్సరము నూరంతలు ఫలము పొందెను. యెహోవా అతనిని ఆశీర్వదించెను గనుక ఆ మనుష్యుడు గొప్పవాడాయెను.

12. And Isaac sowed in that land, and found in the same year, a hundredfold, seeing that Yahweh had blessed him.

13. అతడు మిక్కిలి గొప్పవాడగు వరకు క్రమ క్రమముగా అభివృద్ధి పొందుచు వచ్చెను.

13. So the man waxed great, and went on and on waxing great until that he had waxed exceeding great.

14. అతనికి గొఱ్ఱెల ఆస్తియు గొడ్ల ఆస్తియు దాసులు గొప్ప సమూహమును కలిగినందున ఫిలిష్తీయులు అతనియందు అసూయ పడిరి.

14. So he came to have possessions of flocks gild possessions of herds, and a large body of servants, and the Philistines envied him.

15. అతని తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము దినములలో అతని తండ్రి దాసులు త్రవ్విన బావులన్నిటిని ఫిలిష్తీయులు మన్ను పోసి పూడ్చివేసిరి.

15. And as for all the wells which the servants of his father digged, in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines stepped them up, and filled them with dust.

16. అబీమెలెకు నీవు మాకంటె బహు బలము గలవాడవు గనుక మాయొద్ద నుండి వెళ్లిపొమ్మని ఇస్సాకుతో చెప్పగా

16. And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Get thee from us, for thou hast become far mightier than we.

17. ఇస్సాకు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి గెరారు లోయలో గుడారము వేసికొని అక్కడ నివసించెను.

17. So Isaac went from thence, and encamped in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

18. అప్పుడు తన తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము దినములలో త్రవ్విన నీళ్ల బావులు ఇస్సాకు తిరిగి త్రవ్వించెను; ఏలయనగా అబ్రాహాము మృతిబొందిన తరువాత ఫిలిష్తీయులు వాటిని పూడ్చివేసిరి. అతడు తన తండ్రి వాటికి పెట్టిన పేళ్ల చొప్పున తిరిగి వాటికి పేర్లు పెట్టెను.

18. And Isaac again digged the wells of water which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father, and which the Philistines stopped up after the death of Abraham, and he called their names, after the names which his father called them.

19. మరియు ఇస్సాకు దాసులు ఆ లోయలో త్రవ్వగా జెలలుగల నీళ్లబావి దొరికెను.

19. And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of living water.

20. అప్పుడు గెరారు కాపరులు ఇస్సాకు కాపరులతో జగడమాడి ఈ నీరు మాదే అని చెప్పిరి గనుక వారు తనతో కలహించినందున అతడు ఆ బావికి ఏశెకు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

20. And the herdmen of Gerar disputed with the herdmen of Isaac saying, Ours, is thee, water! So he called the name of the well Esek, because they had stirred up a quarrel with him.

21. వారు మరియొక బావి త్రవ్వినప్పుడు దానికొరకును జగడమాడిరి గనుక దానికి శిత్నా అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

21. And they digged another well, and they disputed over that also, so he called the name thereof Sitnah.

22. అతడు అక్కడనుండి వెళ్లి మరియొక బావి త్రవ్వించెను. దాని విషయమై వారు జగడమాడలేదు గనుక అతడు ఇప్పుడు యెహోవా మనకు ఎడము కలుగజేసియున్నాడు గనుక యీ దేశమందు అభివృద్ధి పొందుదుమనుకొని దానికి రహెబోతు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

22. And he moved on from thence and digged another well, and they disputed not for it, so he called the name thereof. Rehoboth, and said, For, now, hath Yahweh made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.

23. అక్కడనుండి అతడు బెయేర్షెబాకు వెళ్లెను.

23. And be went up from thence, to Beer-sheba.

24. ఆ రాత్రియే యెహోవా అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమై నేను నీ తండ్రియైన అబ్రాహాము దేవుడను, నేను నీకు తోడైయున్నాను గనుక భయపడకుము; నా దాసుడైన అబ్రాహామును బట్టి నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించి నీ సంతానమును విస్తరింపచేసెదనని చెప్పెను.

24. And Yahweh appeared unto him the same night, and said, I, am the God of Abraham thy father, Do not fear for with thee, am, I, And I will bless thee and multiply thy seed, For the sake of Abraham my servant.

25. అక్కడ అతడొక బలిపీఠము కట్టించి యెహోవా నామమున ప్రార్థనచేసి అక్కడ తన గుడారము వేసెను. అప్పుడు ఇస్సాకు దాసులు అక్కడ బావి త్రవ్విరి.

25. So he builded there all altar and called on the name of Yahweh, and spread out there, his rent, and the servants of Isaac cut out there a well.

26. అంతట అబీమెలెకును అతని స్నేహితుడైన అహుజతును అతని సేనాధిపతియైన ఫీకోలును గెరారు నుండి అతని యొద్దకు వచ్చిరి.

26. And, Abimelech, came unto him from Gerar, with Ahuzzath his friend, and Phicol, commander of his host.

27. ఇస్సాకు - మీరు నామీద పగపట్టి మీయొద్దనుండి నన్ను పంపివేసిన తరువాత ఎందునిమిత్తము నా యొద్దకు వచ్చియున్నారని వారినడుగగా

27. And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore have ye come in mite me, seeing that, ye, hated me, and sent me away from you?

28. వారు నిశ్చయముగా యెహోవా నీకు తోడైయుండుట చూచితివిు గనుక మనకు, అనగా మాకును నీకును మధ్య నొక ప్రమాణముండవలెననియు

28. And they said: We, saw plainly, that Yahweh was with thee, so we said, Let there be we pray thee an oath betwixt us both, betwixt us and thee, and let us solemnise a covenant with thee:

29. మేము నిన్ను ముట్టక నీకు మేలే తప్ప మరేమియు చేయక నిన్ను సమాధానముగా పంపివేసితివిు గనుక నీవును మాకు కీడు చేయకుండునట్లు నీతో నిబంధన చేసికొందుమనియు అనుకొంటిమి; ఇప్పుడు నీవు యెహోవా ఆశీర్వాదము పొందిన వాడవనిరి.

29. That, thou wilt not do wrong by us, according as we touched not thee, and according as we did by thee nothing but good, and then sent thee away in peace, thee who, now, art blessed of Yahweh!

30. అతడు వారికి విందుచేయగా వారు అన్నపానములు పుచ్చుకొనిరి.

30. So he made for them a banquet, and they did eat and drink,

31. తెల్లవారినప్పుడు వారు లేచి ఒకనితో ఒకడు ప్రమాణము చేసికొనిరి; తరువాత ఇస్సాకు వారిని సాగనంపగా వారు అతని యొద్దనుండి సమాధానముగా వెళ్లిరి.

31. and rose up early in the morning, and took an oath each man to his brother, so Isaac let them go, and they departed from him in peace.

32. ఆ దినమందే ఇస్సాకు దాసులు వచ్చి తాము త్రవ్విన బావినిగూర్చి అతనికి తెలియచేసి మాకు నీళ్లు కనబడినవని చెప్పిరి గనుక

32. And it came to pass, on the same day, that the servants of Isaac came in, and told him concerning the well which they had digged, and said to him, We have found water!

33. దానికి షేబ అను పేరు పెట్టెను. కాబట్టి నేటి వరకు ఆ ఊరి పేరు బెయేర్షెబా.

33. So he called it, Shibah. For this cause, hath the name of the city, been Beer-sheba, unto this day.

34. ఏశావు నలువది సంవత్సరముల వాడైనప్పుడు హిత్తీయుడైన బేయేరీ కుమార్తెయగు యహూదీతును హిత్తీయుడైన ఏలోను కుమార్తెయగు బాశెమతును పెండ్లిచేసికొనెను.

34. And when Esau was forty years old, he took to wife Judith, daughter of Beeri. the Hittite; and Basemath, daughter of Elon, the Hittite;

35. వీరు ఇస్సాకునకును రిబ్కాకును మనోవేదన కలుగజేసిరి.

35. and they became a bitterness of spirit, to Isaac and to Rebekah.
