1. రాహేలు తాను యాకోబునకు పిల్లలు కనక పోవుట చూచి తన అక్కయందు అసూయపడి యాకోబుతో - నాకు గర్భఫలమునిమ్ము; లేనియెడల నేను చచ్చెదననెను.

1. Now Rachel, because she had no children, was full of envy of her sister; and she said to Jacob, If you do not give me children I will not go on living.

2. యాకోబు కోపము రాహేలుమీద రగులుకొనగా అతడు - నేను నీకు గర్భఫలమును ఇయ్యక పోయిన దేవునికి ప్రతిగా నున్నానా అనెను.

2. But Jacob was angry with Rachel, and said, Am I in the place of God, who has kept your body from having fruit?

3. అందుకామె - నా దాసియైన బిల్హా ఉన్నది గదా; ఆమెతో పొమ్ము; ఆమె నా కొరకు పిల్లలను కనును; ఆలాగున ఆమె వలన నాకును పిల్లలు కలుగుదురని చెప్పి

3. Then she said, Here is my servant Bilhah, go in to her, so that she may have a child on my knees, and I may have a family by her.

4. తన దాసియైన బిల్హాను అతనికి భార్యగా ఇచ్చెను. యాకోబు ఆమెతో పోగా

4. So she gave him her servant Bilhah as a wife, and Jacob went in to her.

5. బిల్హా గర్భవతియై యాకోబునకు కుమారుని కనెను.

5. And Bilhah became with child, and gave birth to a son.

6. అప్పుడు రాహేలు దేవుడు నాకు తీర్పుతీర్చెను; ఆయన నా మొరను విని నాకు కుమారుని దయ చేసెననుకొని అతనికి దాను అని పేరు పెట్టెను.

6. Then Rachel said, God has been my judge, and has given ear to my voice, and has given me a son; so he was named Dan.

7. రాహేలు దాసియైన బిల్హా తిరిగి గర్భవతియై యాకోబుకు రెండవ కుమారుని కనెను.

7. And again Bilhah, Rachel's servant, was with child, and gave birth to a second son.

8. అప్పుడు రాహేలు దేవుని కృప విషయమై నా అక్కతో పోరాడి గెలిచితిననుకొని అతనికి నఫ్తాలి అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

8. And Rachel said, I have had a great fight with my sister, and I have overcome her: and she gave the child the name Naphtali.

9. లేయా తనకు కానుపు ఉడుగుట చూచి తన దాసియైన జిల్పాను తీసికొని యాకోబునకు ఆమెను భార్యగా ఇచ్చెను.

9. When it was clear to Leah that she would have no more children for a time, she gave Zilpah, her servant, to Jacob as a wife.

10. లేయా దాసియైన జిల్పా యాకోబునకు కుమారుని కనగా

10. And Zilpah, Leah's servant, gave birth to a son.

11. లేయా - ఇది అదృష్టమే గదా అనుకొని అతనికి గాదు అను పేరుపెట్టెను.

11. And Leah said, It has gone well for me: and she gave him the name Gad.

12. లేయా దాసియైన జిల్పా యాకోబునకు రెండవ కుమారుని కనగా

12. And Zilpah, Leah's servant, gave birth to a second son.

13. లేయా నేను భాగ్యవంతురాలను - స్త్రీలు నన్ను భాగ్యవతి అందురు గదా అని అతనికి ఆషేరు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

13. And Leah said, Happy am I! and all women will give witness to my joy: and she gave him the name Asher.

14. గోధుమల కోతకాలములో రూబేను వెళ్లి పొలములో పుత్రదాత వృక్షపు పండ్లు చూచి తన తల్లియైన లేయాకు తెచ్చి యిచ్చెను. అప్పుడు రాహేలు - నీ కుమారుని పుత్ర దాతవృక్షపు పండ్లలో కొన్ని నాకు దయచేయుమని లేయాతో అనగా

14. Now at the time of the grain-cutting, Reuben saw some love-fruits in the field, and took them to his mother Leah. And Rachel said to her, Let me have some of your son's love-fruits.

15. ఆమె - నా భర్తను తీసికొంటివే అది చాలదా? ఇప్పుడు నా కుమారుని పుత్రదాత వృక్షపు పండ్లను తీసికొందువా అని చెప్పెను. అందుకు రాహేలు - కాబట్టి నీ కుమారుని పుత్రదాత వృక్షపు పండ్ల నిమిత్తము అతడు ఈ రాత్రి నీతో శయనించునని చెప్పెను.

15. But Leah said to her, Is it a small thing that you have taken my husband from me? and now would you take my son's love-fruits? Then Rachel said, You may have him tonight in exchange for your son's love-fruits.

16. సాయంకాలమందు యాకోబు పొలము నుండి వచ్చునప్పుడు లేయా అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బోయి - నీవు నా యొద్దకు రావలెను, నా కుమారుని పుత్రదాతవృక్షపు పండ్లతో నిన్ను కొంటినని చెప్పెను. కాబట్టి అతడు ఆ రాత్రి ఆమెతో శయనించెను.

16. In the evening, when Jacob came in from the field, Leah went out to him and said, Tonight you are to come to me, for I have given my son's love-fruits as a price for you. And he went in to her that night.

17. దేవుడు లేయా మనవి వినెను గనుక ఆమె గర్భవతియై యాకోబునకు అయిదవ కుమారుని కనెను.

17. And God gave ear to her and she became with child, and gave Jacob a fifth son.

18. లేయా నేను నా పెనిమిటికి నా దాసి నిచ్చినందున దేవుడు నాకు ప్రతిఫలము దయచేసెననుకొని అతనికి ఇశ్శాఖారు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

18. Then Leah said, God has made payment to me for giving my servant-girl to my husband: so she gave her son the name Issachar.

19. లేయా మరల గర్భవతియై యాకోబునకు ఆరవ కుమారుని కనెను.

19. And again Leah became with child, and she gave Jacob a sixth son.

20. అప్పుడు లేయా దేవుడు మంచి బహుమతి నాకు దయచేసెను; నా పెనిమిటికి ఆరుగురు కుమారులను కనియున్నాను గనుక అతడికను నాతో కాపురము చేయుననుకొని అతనికి జెబూలూను అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

20. And she said, God has given me a good bride-price; now at last will I have my husband living with me, for I have given him six sons: and she gave him the name Zebulun.

21. ఆ తరువాత ఆమె కొమార్తెను కని ఆమెకు దీనా అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

21. After that she had a daughter, to whom she gave the name Dinah.

22. దేవుడు రాహేలును జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొని ఆమె మనవి విని ఆమె గర్భము తెరిచెను.

22. Then God gave thought to Rachel, and hearing her prayer he made her fertile.

23. అప్పుడామె గర్భవతియై కుమారుని కని - దేవుడు నా నింద తొలగించెననుకొనెను.

23. And she was with child, and gave birth to a son: and she said, God has taken away my shame.

24. మరియు ఆమె - యెహోవా మరియొక కుమారుని నాకు దయచేయునుగాక అనుకొని అతనికి యోసేపు అను పేరు పెట్టెను.

24. And she gave him the name Joseph, saying, May the Lord give me another son.

25. రాహేలు యోసేపును కనిన తరువాత యాకోబు లాబానుతో - నన్ను పంపివేయుము; నా చోటికిని నా దేశమునకును వెళ్లెదను.

25. Now after the birth of Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, Let me go away to my place and my country.

26. నా భార్యలను నా పిల్లలను నాకప్పగించుము; అప్పుడు నేను వెళ్లెదను; వారి కోసము నీకు కొలువుచేసితిని; నేను నీకు కొలువు చేసిన విధమును నీ వెరుగుదువుగదా అని చెప్పెను.

26. Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have been your servant, and let me go: for you have knowledge of all the work I have done for you.

27. అందుకు లాబాను అతనితో నీ కటాక్షము నా మీదనున్న యెడల నా మాట వినుము; నిన్ను బట్టి యెహోవా నన్ను ఆశీర్వదించెనని శకునము చూచి తెలిసికొంటినని చెప్పెను.

27. And Laban said, If you will let me say so, do not go away; for I have seen by the signs that the Lord has been good to me because of you.

28. మరియు అతడు నీ జీతమింతయని నాతో స్పష్టముగా చెప్పుము అది యిచ్చెదననెను.

28. Say then what your payment is to be and I will give it.

29. అందుకు యాకోబు అతని చూచి నేను నీకెట్లు కొలువు చేసితినో నీ మందలు నాయొద్ద ఎట్లుండెనో అది నీకు తెలియును;

29. Then Jacob said, You have seen what I have done for you, and how your cattle have done well under my care.

30. నేను రాకమునుపు నీకుండినది కొంచెమే; అయితే అది బహుగా అభివృద్ధి పొందెను; నేను పాదముపెట్టిన చోటెల్ల యెహోవా నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించెను; నేను నా యింటి వారికొరకు ఎప్పుడు సంపాద్యము చేసికొందుననెను.

30. For before I came you had little, and it has been greatly increased; and the Lord has given you a blessing in everything I have done; but when am I to do something for my family?

31. అప్పుడతడు నేను నీకేమి ఇయ్యవలెనని యడిగినందుకు యాకోబు నీవు నాకేమియు ఇయ్యవద్దు; నీవు నాకొరకు ఈ విధముగా చేసినయెడల నేను తిరిగి నీ మందను మేపి కాచెదను.

31. And Laban said, What am I to give you? And Jacob said, Do not give me anything; but I will again take up the care of your flock if you will only do this for me:

32. నేడు నేను నీ మంద అంతటిలో నడచి చూచి పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను గల ప్రతి గొఱ్ఱెను, గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలలో నల్లని ప్రతిదానిని, మేకలలో మచ్చలైనను పొడలైనను గలవాటిని వేరుపరచెదను; అట్టివి నాకు జీతమగును.

32. Let me go through all your flock today, taking out from among them all the sheep which are marked or coloured or black, and all the marked or coloured goats: these will be my payment.

33. ఇకమీదట నాకు రావలసిన జీతమును గూర్చి నీవు చూడవచ్చినప్పుడు నా న్యాయ ప్రవర్తనయే నాకు సాక్ష్యమగును; మేకలలో పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను లేనివన్నియు, గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలలో నలుపు లేనివన్నియు నా యొద్దనున్న యెడల నేను దొంగిలితినని చెప్పవచ్చుననెను.

33. And so you will be able to put my honour to the test in time to come; if you see among my flocks any goats which are not marked or coloured, or any sheep which is not black, you may take me for a thief.

34. అందుకు లాబాను మంచిది, నీ మాటచొప్పుననే కానిమ్మనెను.

34. And Laban said, Let it be as you say.

35. ఆ దినమున లాబాను చారయైనను మచ్చయైనను గల మేకపోతులను, పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను గల పెంటిమేకలన్నిటిని కొంచెము తెలుపుగల ప్రతిదానిని గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలలో నల్లవాటి నన్నిటిని వేరుచేసి తన కుమారుల చేతి కప్పగించి

35. So that day he took all the he-goats which were banded or coloured, and all the she-goats which were marked or coloured or had white marks, and all the black sheep, and gave them into the care of his sons;

36. తనకును యాకోబునకును మధ్య మూడు దినముల ప్రయాణమంత దూరము పెట్టెను; లాబానుయొక్క మిగిలిన మందను యాకోబు మేపుచుండెను.

36. And sent them three days' journey away: and Jacob took care of the rest of Laban's flock.

37. యాకోబు చినారు జంగి సాలు అను చెట్ల చువ్వలను తీసికొని ఆ చువ్వలలో తెల్లచారలు కనబడునట్లు అక్కడక్కడ వాటి తొక్కలు ఒలిచి

37. Then Jacob took young branches of trees, cutting off the skin so that the white wood was seen in bands.

38. మందలు నీళ్లు త్రాగ వచ్చినప్పుడు అవి చూలు కట్టుటకు అతడు తాను ఒలిచిన చువ్వలను మందలు త్రాగుటకు వచ్చు కాలువలలోను నీళ్లగాళ్లలోను వాటియెదుట పెట్టగా

38. And he put the banded sticks in the drinking-places where the flock came to get water; and they became with young when they came to the water.

39. మందలు ఆ చువ్వల యెదుట చూలు కట్టి చారలైనను పొడలైనను మచ్చలైనను గల పిల్లలను ఈనెను.

39. And because of this, the flock gave birth to young which were marked with bands of colour.

40. యాకోబు ఆ గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లలను వేరుచేసి, చారలుగల వాటి తట్టును లాబాను మందలలో నల్లని వాటి తట్టును మందల ముఖములు త్రిప్పి తన మందలను లాబాను మందలతో నుంచక వాటిని వేరుగా ఉంచెను.

40. These lambs Jacob kept separate; and he put his flock in a place by themselves and not with Laban's flock.

41. మందలో బలమైనవి చూలు కట్టినప్పుడెల్లను అవి ఆ చువ్వల యెదుట చూలు కట్టునట్లు యాకోబు మంద కన్నుల యెదుట కాలువలలో ఆ చువ్వలు పెట్టెను.

41. And whenever the stronger ones of the flock became with young, Jacob put the sticks in front of them in the drinking-places, so that they might become with young when they saw the sticks.

42. మంద బలహీనమైనప్పుడు పెట్టలేదు. అట్లు బలహీనమైనవి లాబానుకును బలమైనవి యాకోబు నకును వచ్చెను.

42. But when the flocks were feeble, he did not put the sticks before them; so that the feebler flocks were Laban's and the stronger were Jacob's.

43. ఆ ప్రకారము ఆ మనుష్యుడు అత్యధికముగా అభివృద్ధిపొంది విస్తారమైన మందలు దాసీలు దాసులు ఒంటెలు గాడిదలు గలవాడాయెను.

43. So Jacob's wealth was greatly increased; he had great flocks and women-servants and men-servants and camels and asses.
