1. యాసేపును ఐగుప్తునకు తీసికొని వచ్చినప్పుడు ఫరో యొక్క ఉద్యోగస్థుడును రాజసంరక్షక సేనాధిపతియు నైన పోతీఫరను నొక ఐగుప్తీయుడు, అక్కడికి అతని తీసికొని వచ్చిన ఇష్మాయేలీయులయొద్ద నతని కొనెను.

1. Now, Joseph, was taken down to Egypt, and Potiphar, courtier of Pharaoh, chief of the royal executioners, an Egyptian bought him, at the hand of the Ishmaelites, who had brought him down thither.

2. యెహోవా యోసేపునకు తోడైయుండెను గనుక అతడు వర్ధిల్లుచు తన యజమానుడగు ఆ ఐగుప్తీయుని యింట నుండెను.

2. And it came to pass that Yahweh, was with Joseph, so that he became a prosperous man, and was in the house of his lord the Egyptian.

3. యెహోవా అతనికి తోడై యుండెననియు, అతడు చేసినదంతయు అతని చేతిలో యెహోవా సఫలము చేసెననియు అతని యజమానుడు చూచినప్పుడు

3. And his lord saw, that, Yahweh, was with him and that whatsoever, he was doing, Yahweh, was causing to prosper in his hand.

4. యోసేపు మీద అతనికి కటాక్షము కలిగెను గనుక అతని యొద్ద పరిచర్య చేయువాడాయెను. మరియు అతడు తన యింటిమీద విచారణకర్తగా అతని నియమించి తనకు కలిగినదంతయు అతనిచేతి కప్పగించెను.

4. So Joseph found favour in his eyes and waited upon him, and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had, gave he into his hand.

5. And it came to pass from the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, that Yahweh blessed the house of the Egyptian, for Joseph's sake, yea it came to pass, that the blessing of Yahweh, was with all that he had, in the house and in the field;

6. అతడు తనకు కలిగినదంతయు యోసేపు చేతి కప్పగించి, తాను ఆహారము తినుట తప్ప తనకేమి ఉన్నదో ఏమి లేదో విచారించినవాడు కాడు. యోసేపు రూపవంతుడును సుందరుడునై యుండెను.

6. so that he left all that he had in the hand of Joseph, and took note with him of nothing, save only the bread which, he himself, was eating. And so it was that Joseph was comely in form and comely in countenance.

7. అటు తరువాత అతని యజమానుని భార్య యోసేపు మీద కన్నువేసి - తనతో శయనించుమని చెప్పెను

7. And it came to pass after these things, that his lord's wife lifted up her eyes unto Joseph, and she said Come! lie with me.

8. అయితే అతడు ఒప్పక నా యజమానుడు తనకు కలిగిన దంతయు నా చేతి కప్పగించెనుగదా, నా వశమున తన యింటిలో ఏమి ఉన్నదో అతడెరుగడు; ఈ యింటిలో నాకంటె పైవాడు ఎవడును లేడు.

8. And he refused and said unto his lord's wife, Lo! my lord, taketh no note with me as to what is in the house, but, all that pertaineth to him, hath he delivered into my hand:

9. నీవు అతని భార్యవైనందున నిన్ను తప్ప మరి దేనిని నా కప్పగింపక యుండలేదు. కాబట్టి నేనెట్లు ఇంత ఘోరమైన దుష్కార్యము చేసి దేవునికి విరోధముగా పాపము కట్టుకొందునని తన యజమానుని భార్యతో అనెను.

9. There is no one greater in this house than I, neither hath he withheld from me anything, save only thyself in that thou, art his wife, how, then could I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

10. దిన దినము ఆమె యోసేపుతో మాటలాడుచుండెను గాని అతడు ఆమెతో శయనించుటకైనను ఆమెతో నుండుటకైనను ఆమె మాట విన్నవాడుకాడు.

10. And it came to pass, that although she Spake unto Joseph day after day, yet hearkened he not unto her to lie beside her to be with her.

11. అట్లుండగా ఒక నాడు అతడు తన పనిమీద ఇంటిలోపలికి వెళ్లినప్పుడు ఇంటి మనుష్యులలో ఎవరును అక్కడ లేరు.

11. And it came to pass, when, on a certain day, he went into the house to attend to his business, and there was no man of the household, there in the house,

12. అప్పుడామె ఆతని వస్త్రము పట్టుకొని తనతో శయనింపుమని చెప్పగా అతడు తన వస్త్రమును ఆమె చేతిలో విడిచి పెట్టి తప్పించుకొని బయటికి పారిపోయెను.

12. that she caught him by his garment, saying Come! lie with me. Then left he his garment in her hand, and fled and gut forth outside,

13. అతడు తన వస్త్రమును ఆమె చేతిలో విడిచి తప్పించుకొనిపోవుట ఆమె చూచినప్పుడు

13. And it came to pass when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and fled forth outside,

14. తన యింటి మనుష్యులను పిలిచిచూడుడి, అతడు మనలను ఎగతాళి చేయుటకు ఒక హెబ్రీయుని మనయొద్దకు తెచ్చియున్నాడు. నాతో శయనింపవలెనని వీడు నా యొద్దకురాగా నేను పెద్దకేక వేసితిని.

14. that she cried out to the men of her house and spake to them, saying, Look ye! he hath brought in to us a Hebrew man to insult us, He came in unto me, to lie with me, so I cried out with a loud voice.

15. నేను బిగ్గరగా కేకవేయుట వాడు విని నా దగ్గర తన వస్త్రమును విడిచిపెట్టి తప్పించుకొని బయటికి పారిపోయెనని వారితో చెప్పి

15. And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted high my voice, and cried out, then left he his garment beside me, and fled and gut forth outside.

16. అతని యజమానుడు ఇంటికి వచ్చువరకు అతని వస్త్రము తనదగ్గర ఉంచుకొనెను.

16. So she laid by his garment beside her, until his lord should come into his house,

17. అప్పుడామె తన భర్తతో ఈ మాటల చొప్పున చెప్పెను నీవు మనయొద్దకు తెచ్చిన ఆ హెబ్రీదాసుడు నన్ను ఎగతాళి చేయుటకు నాయొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

17. Then spake she unto him, according to these words, saying, He hath been in unto me the Hebrew servant whom thou didst bring in to us to insult me.

18. నేను బిగ్గరగా కేక వేసినప్పుడు వాడు తన వస్త్రము నా దగ్గర విడిచిపెట్టి తప్పించుకొని బయటికి పారి పోయెననెను

18. And it came to pass when I lifted high my voice and cried out, then left he his garment beside me, and fled outside.

19. కాబట్టి అతని యజమానుడు ఇట్లు నీ దాసుడు నన్ను చేసెనని తన భార్య తనతో చెప్పిన మాటలు విన్నప్పుడు కోపముతో మండిపడి

19. And it came to pass, when his lord heard the words of his wife which she spake unto him saying, According to these words, hath thy servant done to me, Then was kindled his anger.

20. అతనిని పట్టుకొని రాజు ఖైదీలు బంధింపబడు చెరసాలలో వేయించెను. అతడక్కడ చెరసాలలో ఉండెను.

20. So Joseph's lord took him and delivered him up to the prison,: the place where, the prisoners of the king, were imprisoned, so he was there, in the prison.

21. అయితే యెహోవా యోసేపునకు తోడైయుండి, అతని యందు కనికరపడి అతనిమీద ఆ చెరసాలయొక్క అధిపతికి కటాక్షము కలుగునట్లుచేసెను.

21. And it came to pass that, Yahweh, was with Joseph, and extended unto him lovingkindness, and gave him his favour in the eyes of the chief of the prison.

22. చెరసాల అధిపతి ఆ చెరసాలలోనున్న ఖైదీలనందరిని యోసేపు చేతి కప్పగించెను. వారక్కడ ఏమి చేసిరో అదంతయు అతడే చేయించువాడు.

22. So the chief of the prison delivered up, into Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison, and of all that was doing them, he, was the doer.

23. యెహోవా అతనికి తోడైయుండెను గనుక ఆ చెరసాల అధిపతి అతని చేతికి అప్పగింపబడిన దేనిగూర్చియు విచారణ చేయక యుండెను. అతడు చేయునది యావత్తు యెహోవా సఫలమగునట్లు చేసెను.

23. After nothing, was the chief of the prison looking, of whatever was in his hand, in that Yahweh, was with him, and whatsoever, he was doing, Yahweh, was causing to prosper.
