1. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు తనకు కలిగినదంతయు తీసికొని ప్రయాణమై బెయేర్షెబాకు వచ్చి తన తండ్రియైన ఇస్సాకు దేవునికి బలులనర్పించెను.

1. So Israel set out on the journey with everything he owned. He arrived at Beersheba and worshiped, offering sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.

2. అప్పుడు రాత్రి దర్శనములయందు దేవుడు - యాకోబూ యాకోబూ అని ఇశ్రాయేలును పిలిచెను. అందుకతడు - చిత్తము ప్రభువా అనెను.

2. God spoke to Israel in a vision that night: 'Jacob! Jacob!' 'Yes?' he said. 'I'm listening.'

3. ఆయన నేనే దేవుడను, నీ తండ్రి దేవుడను, ఐగుప్తునకు వెళ్లుటకు భయపడకుము, అక్కడ నిన్ను గొప్పజనముగా చేసెదను.

3. God said, 'I am the God of your father. Don't be afraid of going down to Egypt. I'm going to make you a great nation there.

4. నేను ఐగుప్తునకు నీతోగూడ వచ్చెదను, అంతేకాదు నేను నిశ్చయముగా నిన్ను తిరిగి తీసికొని వచ్చెదను, యోసేపు నీ కన్నుల మీద తన చెయ్యియుంచునని సెలవియ్యగా

4. I'll go with you down to Egypt; I'll also bring you back here. And when you die, Joseph will be with you; with his own hand he'll close your eyes.'

5. యాకోబు లేచి బెయేర్షెబా నుండి వెళ్లెను. ఫరో అతని నెక్కించి తీసికొని వచ్చుటకు పంపిన బండ్లమీద ఇశ్రాయేలు కుమారులు తమ తండ్రియైన యాకోబును తమ పిల్లలను తమ భార్యలను ఎక్కించిరి.

5. Then Jacob left Beersheba. Israel's sons loaded their father and their little ones and their wives on the wagons Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

6. వారు, అనగా యాకోబును అతని యావత్తు సంతానమును, తమ పశువులను తాము కనానులో సంపాదించిన సంపద యావత్తును తీసికొని ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిరి.

6. They arrived in Egypt with the livestock and the wealth they had accumulated in Canaan. Jacob brought everyone in his family with him--

7. అతడు తన కుమారులను తన కుమారుల కుమారులను తన కుమార్తెలను తన కుమారుల కుమార్తెలను తన యావత్తు సంతానమును ఐగుప్తునకు తనతోకూడ తీసికొనివచ్చెను.

7. sons and grandsons, daughters and granddaughters. Everyone.

8. యాకోబును అతని కుమారులును ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిరి. ఇశ్రాయేలు కుమారుల పేళ్లు ఇవే;

8. These are the names of the Israelites, Jacob and his descendants, who went to Egypt: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.

9. యాకోబు జ్యేష్ఠ కుమారుడు రూబేను. రూబేను కుమారులైన హనోకు పల్లు హెస్రోను కర్మీ.

9. Reuben's sons: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

10. షిమ్యోను కుమారులైన యెమూయేలు యామీను ఓహదు యాకీను సోహరు కనానీయురాలి కుమారుడైన షావూలు.

10. Simeon's sons: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman.

11. లేవి కుమారులైన గెర్షోను కహాతు మెరారి

11. Levi's sons: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

12. యూదా కుమారులైన ఏరు ఓనాను షేలా పెరెసు జెరహు. ఆ ఏరును ఓనానును కనాను దేశములో చనిపోయిరి. పెరెసు కుమారులైన హెస్రోను హామూలు.

12. Judah's sons: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (Er and Onan had already died in the land of Canaan). The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.

13. ఇశ్శాఖారు కుమారులైన తోలా పువ్వా యోబు షిమ్రోను.

13. Issachar's sons: Tola, Puah, Jashub, and Shimron.

14. జెబూలూను కుమారులైన సెరెదు ఏలోను యహలేలు.

14. Zebulun's sons: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.

15. These are the sons that Leah bore to Jacob in Paddan Aram. There was also his daughter Dinah. Altogether, sons and daughters, they numbered thirty-three.

17. ఆషేరు కుమారులైన ఇమ్నా ఇష్వా ఇష్వీ బెరీయా; వారి సహోదరియైన శెరహు. ఆ బెరీయా కుమారులైన హెబెరు మల్కీయేలు.

17. Asher's sons: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, and Beriah. Also their sister Serah, and Beriah's sons, Heber and Malkiel.

18. లాబాను తన కుమార్తెయైన లేయా కిచ్చిన జిల్పా కుమారులు వీరే . ఆమె యీ పదునారు మందిని యాకోబునకు కనెను.

18. These are the children that Zilpah, the maid that Laban gave to his daughter Leah, bore to Jacob--sixteen of them.

19. యాకోబు భార్యయైన రాహేలు కుమారులైన యోసేపు బెన్యామీను.

19. The sons of Jacob's wife Rachel were Joseph and Benjamin.

20. యోసేపునకు మనష్షే ఎఫ్రాయిములు పుట్టిరి. వారిని ఐగుప్తు దేశమందు ఓనుకు యాజకుడగు పోతీఫెర కుమార్తెయైన ఆసెనతు అతనికి కనెను.

20. Joseph was the father of two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim, from his marriage to Asenath daughter of Potiphera, priest of On. They were born to him in Egypt.

21. బెన్యామీను కుమారులైన బెల బేకెరు అష్బేలు గెరా నయమాను ఏహీరోషు ముప్పీము హుప్పీము ఆర్దు.

21. Benjamin's sons were Bela, Beker, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.

22. యాకోబునకు రాహేలు కనిన కుమారులగు వీరందరు పదునలుగురు.

22. These are the children born to Jacob through Rachel--fourteen.

23. దాను కుమారుడైన హుషీము.

23. Dan's son: Hushim.

24. నఫ్తాలి కుమారులైన యహనేలు గూనీ యేసెరు షిల్లేము.

24. Naphtali's sons: Jahziel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.

25. లాబాను తన కుమార్తెయైన రాహేలునకు ఇచ్చిన బిల్హా కుమారులు వీరే. ఆమె వారిని యాకోబునకు కనెను. వారందరు ఏడుగురు.

25. These are the children born to Jacob through Bilhah, the maid Laban had given to his daughter Rachel--seven.

26. యాకోబు కోడండ్రను వినాయించి అతని గర్భవాసమున పుట్టి యాకోబుతో ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిన వారందరు అరువది ఆరుగురు.

26. Summing up, all those who went down to Egypt with Jacob--his own children, not counting his sons' wives--numbered sixty-six.

27. ఐగుప్తులో అతనికి పుట్టిన యోసేపు కుమారులిద్దరు; ఐగుప్తునకు వచ్చిన యాకోబు కుటుంబపు వారందరు డెబ్బది మంది.

27. Counting in the two sons born to Joseph in Egypt, the members of Jacob's family who ended up in Egypt numbered seventy.

28. అతడు గోషెనుకు త్రోవ చూపుటకు యోసేపు నొద్దకు తనకు ముందుగా యూదాను పంపెను. వారు గోషెను దేశమునకు రాగా

28. Jacob sent Judah on ahead to get directions to Goshen from Joseph. When they got to Goshen,

29. యోసేపు తన రథమును సిద్ధము చేయించి తన తండ్రియైన ఇశ్రాయేలును ఎదుర్కొనుటకు గోషెనుకు వెళ్లి అతనికి కనబడెను. అప్పుడతడు అతని మెడమీద పడి అతని మెడ పట్టుకొని యెంతో ఏడ్చెను.

29. Joseph gave orders for his chariot and went to Goshen to meet his father Israel. The moment Joseph saw him, he threw himself on his neck and wept. He wept a long time.

30. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు యోసేపుతో - నీవింక బ్రదికియున్నావు; నీ ముఖము చూచితిని గనుక నేనికను చనిపోవుదునని చెప్పెను.

30. Israel said to Joseph, 'I'm ready to die. I've looked into your face--you are indeed alive.'

31. యోసేపు తన సహోదరులను తన తండ్రి కుటుంబపు వారినిచూచి - నేను వెళ్లి యిది ఫరోకు తెలియచేసి, కనాను దేశములో ఉండిన నా సహోదరులును నా తండ్రి కుటుంబపువారును నాయొద్దకు వచ్చిరి;

31. Joseph then spoke to his brothers and his father's family. 'I'll go and tell Pharaoh, 'My brothers and my father's family, all of whom lived in Canaan, have come to me.

32. ఆ మనుష్యులు పశువులు గలవారు, వారు గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరులు. వారు తమ గొఱ్ఱెలను పశువులను తమకు కలిగినదంతయు తీసికొనివచ్చిరని అతనితో చెప్పెదను.

32. The men are shepherds; they've always made their living by raising livestock. And they've brought their flocks and herds with them, along with everything else they own.'

33. గొఱ్ఱెల కాపరియైన ప్రతివాడు ఐగుప్తీయులకు హేయుడు గనుక ఫరో మిమ్మును పిలిపించి మీ వృత్తి యేమిటని అడిగినయెడల

33. When Pharaoh calls you in and asks what kind of work you do,

34. మీరు గోషెను దేశమందు కాపురముండునట్లు - మా చిన్నతనమునుండి ఇదివరకు నీ దాసులమైన మేమును మా పూర్వికులును పశువులు గల వారమై యున్నామని ఉత్తరమియ్యుడని చెప్పెను.

34. tell him, 'Your servants have always kept livestock for as long as we can remember--we and our parents also.' That way he'll let you stay apart in the area of Goshen--for Egyptians look down on anyone who is a shepherd.'
