1. ఈ సంగతులైన తరువాత ఇదిగో నీ తండ్రి కాయిలాగా ఉన్నాడని ఒకడు యోసేపుతో చెప్పెను. అప్పుడతడు మనష్షే ఎఫ్రాయిములు అను తన యిద్దరు కుమారులను వెంటబెట్టుకొని పోగా,

1. Now it came to pass after these things that Joseph was told, "Indeed your father [is] sick"; and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

2. ఇదిగో నీ కుమారుడైన యోసేపు నీ యొద్దకు వచ్చుచున్నాడని యాకోబునకు తెలుపబడెను. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలు బలము తెచ్చుకొని తన మంచముమీద కూర్చుండెను.

2. And Jacob was told, "Look, your son Joseph is coming to you"; and Israel strengthened himself and sat up on the bed.

3. యోసేపును చూచి కనాను దేశమందలి లూజులో సర్వశక్తిగల దేవుడు నాకు కనబడి నన్ను ఆశీర్వదించి

3. Then Jacob said to Joseph: "God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me,

4. ఇదిగో నీకు సంతానాభివృద్ధి పొందించి నిన్ను విస్తరింపచేసి నీవు జనముల సమూహ మగునట్లు చేసి, నీ తరువాత నీ సంతానమునకు ఈ దేశమును నిత్యస్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇచ్చెదనని సెలవిచ్చెను.

4. "and said to me, 'Behold, I will make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and give this land to your descendants after you [as] an everlasting possession.'

5. ఇదిగో నేను ఐగుప్తునకు నీ యొద్దకు రాకమునుపు ఐగుప్తు దేశములో నీకు పుట్టిన నీ యిద్దరు కుమారులు నా బిడ్డలే; రూబేను షిమ్యోనులవలె ఎఫ్రాయిము మనష్షే నా బిడ్డలై యుందురు.

5. "And now your two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, [are] mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

6. వారి తరువాత నీవు కనిన సంతానము నీదే; వారు తమ సహోదరుల స్వాస్థ్యమునుబట్టి వారి పేళ్ల చొప్పున పిలువబడుదురు.

6. "Your offspring whom you beget after them shall be yours; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance.

7. పద్దనరామునుండి నేను వచ్చుచున్నప్పుడు, ఎఫ్రాతాకు ఇంక కొంత దూరమున నుండగా మార్గమున రాహేలు కనాను దేశములో నా యెదుట మృతి పొందెను. అక్కడ బేత్లెహేమను ఎఫ్రాతా మార్గమున నేను ఆమెను పాతిపెట్టితినని యోసేపుతో చెప్పెను.

7. "But as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died beside me in the land of Canaan on the way, when [there was] but a little distance to go to Ephrath; and I buried her there on the way to Ephrath (that is, Bethlehem)."

8. ఇశ్రాయేలు యోసేపు కుమారులను చూచి-వీరెవరని అడుగగా

8. Then Israel saw Joseph's sons, and said, "Who [are] these?"

9. యోసేపు-వీరు నా కుమారులు, వీరిని ఈ దేశమందు దేవుడు నా కనుగ్రహించెనని తన తండ్రితో చెప్పెను. అందుకతడు-నేను వారిని దీవించుటకు నా దగ్గరకు వారిని తీసికొనిరమ్మనెను.

9. And Joseph said to his father, "They [are] my sons, whom God has given me in this [place."] And he said, "Please bring them to me, and I will bless them."

10. ఇశ్రాయేలు కన్నులు వృద్ధాప్యమువలన మందముగా ఉండెను గనుక అతడు చూడలేక పోయెను. యోసేపువారిని అతని దగ్గరకు తీసికొనివచ్చినప్పుడు అతడు వారిని ముద్దు పెట్టుకొని కౌగిలించుకొనెను.

10. Now the eyes of Israel were dim with age, [so that] he could not see. Then Joseph brought them near him, and he kissed them and embraced them.

11. ఇశ్రాయేలు యోసే పుతోనీ ముఖము చూచెదనని నేను అనుకొనలేదు గాని నీ సంతానమును దేవుడు నాకు కనుపరచియున్నాడనగా

11. And Israel said to Joseph, "I had not thought to see your face; but in fact, God has also shown me your offspring!"

12. యోసేపు అతని మోకాళ్ల మధ్యనుండి వారిని తీసికొని అతనికి సాష్టాంగ నమస్కారము చేసెను.

12. So Joseph brought them from beside his knees, and he bowed down with his face to the earth.

13. తరువాత యోసేపు ఇశ్రాయేలు ఎడమచేతి తట్టున తన కుడిచేత ఎఫ్రాయిమును, ఇశ్రాయేలు కుడిచేతి తట్టున తన యెడమ చేత మనష్షేను పట్టుకొని వారినిద్దరిని అతని దగ్గరకు తీసి కొనివచ్చెను.

13. And Joseph took them both, Ephraim with his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh with his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought [them] near him.

14. మనష్షే పెద్దవాడైనందున ఇశ్రాయేలు తన చేతులను యుక్తిగా చాచి చిన్నవాడైన ఎఫ్రాయిము తల మీద తన కుడిచేతిని మనష్షే తలమీద తన యెడమచేతిని ఉంచెను.

14. Then Israel stretched out his right hand and laid [it] on Ephraim's head, who [was] the younger, and his left hand on Manasseh's head, guiding his hands knowingly, for Manasseh [was] the firstborn.

15. అతడు యోసేపును దీవించి-నా పితరులైన అబ్రాహాము ఇస్సాకులు ఎవని యెదుట నడుచుచుండిరో ఆ దేవుడు, నేను పుట్టినది మొదలుకొని నేటివరకును ఎవడు నన్ను పోషించెనో ఆ దేవుడు,

15. And he blessed Joseph, and said: "God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, The God who has fed me all my life long to this day,

16. అనగా సమస్తమైన కీడులలోనుండి నన్ను తప్పించిన దూత యీ పిల్లలను ఆశీర్వదించునుగాక; నా పేరును అబ్రాహాము ఇస్సాకులను నా పితరుల పేరును వారికి పెట్టబడునుగాక; భూమియందు వారు బహుగా విస్తరించుదురుగాక అని చెప్పెను.

16. The Angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads; Let my name be named upon them, And the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."

17. యోసేపు ఎఫ్రాయిము తలమీద తన తండ్రి కుడిచెయ్యి పెట్టుట చూచినప్పుడు అది అతని కిష్టము కాకపోయెను గనుక అతడు మనష్షే తలమీద పెట్టించవలెనని తన తండ్రి చెయ్యి ఎఫ్రాయిము తలమీదనుండియెత్తి

17. Now when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand on the head of Ephraim, it displeased him; so he took hold of his father's hand to remove it from Ephraim's head to Manasseh's head.

18. నా తండ్రీ అట్లు కాదు; ఇతడే పెద్దవాడు, నీ కుడిచెయ్యి యితని తలమీద పెట్టుమని చెప్పెను.

18. And Joseph said to his father, "Not so, my father, for this [one is] the firstborn; put your right hand on his head."

19. అయినను అతని తండ్రి ఒప్పక అది నాకు తెలియును, నా కుమారుడా అది నాకు తెలియును; ఇతడును ఒక జనసమూహమై గొప్పవాడగును గాని యితని తమ్ముడు ఇతని కంటె గొప్పవాడగును, అతని సంతానము జనముల సమూహమగునని చెప్పెను.

19. But his father refused and said, "I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations."

20. ఆ దినమందు అతడు వారిని దీవించి ఎఫ్రాయిమువలెను మనష్షేవలెను దేవుడు నిన్ను చేయును గాకని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నీ పేరు చెప్పి దీవించెదరనెను. ఆలాగు అతడు మనష్షేకంటె ఎఫ్రాయిమును ముందుగా ఉంచెను.

20. So he blessed them that day, saying, "By you Israel will bless, saying, 'May God make you as Ephraim and as Manasseh!' " And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

21. మరియు ఇశ్రాయేలు-ఇదిగో నేను చనిపోవుచున్నాను, అయినను దేవుడు మీకు తోడైయుండి మీ పితరుల దేశమునకు మిమ్మును మరల తీసికొని పోవును.

21. Then Israel said to Joseph, "Behold, I am dying, but God will be with you and bring you back to the land of your fathers.

22. నేను నీ సహోదరులకంటె నీకు ఒక భాగము ఎక్కువగా ఇచ్చితిని. అది నా కత్తితోను నా వింటితోను అమోరీయుల చేతిలోనుండి తీసికొంటినని యోసేపుతో చెప్పెను.

22. "Moreover I have given to you one portion above your brothers, which I took from the hand of the Amorite with my sword and my bow."
