1. కావున యెహోవా నాతానును దావీదునొద్దకు పంపెను; అతడు వచ్చి దావీదుతో ఇట్లనెనుఒకానొక పట్టణమందు ఇద్దరు మనుష్యులు ఉండిరి.

1. The Lord sent Nathan to David. Nathan went to him and said, 'There were two men in a city. One man was rich, but the other man was poor.

2. ఒకడు ఐశ్వర్య వంతుడు ఒకడు దరిద్రుడు. ఐశ్వర్యవంతునికి విస్తారమైన గొఱ్ఱెలును గొడ్లును కలిగియుండెను.

2. The rich man had lots of sheep and cattle.

3. అయితే ఆ దరిద్రునికి తాను కొనుక్కొనిన యొక చిన్న ఆడు గొఱ్ఱె పిల్ల తప్ప ఏమియు లేకపోయెను. వాడు దానిని పెంచు కొనుచుండగా అది వానియొద్దను వాని బిడ్డలయొద్దను ఉండి పెరిగి వాని చేతిముద్దలు తినుచు వాని గిన్నెలోనిది త్రాగుచు వాని కౌగిట పండుకొనుచు వానికి కుమార్తెవలె ఉండెను.

3. But the poor man had nothing except one little female lamb that he bought. The poor man fed the lamb, and the lamb grew up with this poor man and his children. She ate from the poor man's food and drank from his cup. The lamb slept on the poor man's chest. The lamb was like a daughter to the poor man.

4. అట్లుండగా మార్గస్థుడొకడు ఐశ్వర్యవంతుని యొద్దకు వచ్చెను. అతడు తనయొద్దకు వచ్చిన మార్గస్థునికి ఆయత్తము చేయుటకు తన గొఱ్ఱెలలోగాని గొడ్లలోగాని దేనిని ముట్టనొల్లక, ఆ దరిద్రుని గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లను పట్టుకొని, తన యొద్దకు వచ్చినవానికి ఆయత్తము చేసెను.

4. Then a traveler stopped to visit the rich man. The rich man wanted to give food to the traveler, but he did not want to take any of his own sheep or cattle to feed the traveler. No, the rich man took the lamb from the poor man and cooked it for his visitor.'

5. దావీదు ఈ మాట విని ఆ మనుష్యునిమీద బహుగా కోపించు కొనియెహోవా జీవముతోడు నిశ్చయముగా ఈ కార్యము చేసినవాడు మరణపాత్రుడు.

5. David became very angry with the rich man. He said to Nathan, 'As the Lord lives, the man who did this should die!

6. వాడు కని కరము లేక యీ కార్యము చేసెను గనుక ఆ గొఱ్ఱె పిల్లకు ప్రతిగా నాలుగు గొఱ్ఱెపిల్లల నియ్యవలెనని నాతానుతో అనెను.

6. He must pay four times the price of the lamb because he did this terrible thing and because he had no mercy.'

7. నాతాను దావీదును చూచిఆ మనుష్యుడవు నీవే. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమ నగాఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద నేను నిన్ను రాజుగా పట్టాభిషేకముచేసి సౌలు చేతిలోనుండి నిన్ను విడిపించి నీ యజమానుని నగరిని నీకను గ్రహించి

7. Then Nathan said to David, 'You are that rich man! This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'I chose you to be the king of Israel. I saved you from Saul.

8. నీ యజమానుని స్త్రీలను నీ కౌగిట చేర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని యూదా వారిని నీ కప్పగించితిని. ఇది చాలదని నీవనుకొనినయెడల నేను మరి ఎక్కువగా నీకిచ్చియుందును.

8. I let you take his family and his wives, and I made you king of Israel and Judah. As if that had not been enough, I would have given you more and more.

9. నీవు యెహోవా మాటను తృణీకరించి ఆయన దృష్టికి చెడుతనము చేసితి వేమి? హిత్తీయుడగు ఊరియాను కత్తిచేత చంపించి అతని భార్యను నీకు భార్య యగునట్లుగా నీవు పట్టుకొని యున్నావు; అమ్మోనీయులచేత నీవతని చంపించితివి గదా?

9. So why did you ignore my command? Why did you do what I say is wrong? You let the Ammonites kill Uriah the Hittite, and you took his wife. It is as if you yourself killed Uriah in war.

10. నీవు నన్ను లక్ష్యము చేయక హిత్తీయుడగు ఊరియా భార్యను నీకు భార్య యగునట్లు తీసికొనినందున నీ యింటివారికి సదాకాలము యుద్ధము కలుగును.

10. So your family will never have peace! When you took Uriah's wife, you showed that you did not respect me.'

11. నా మాట ఆలకించుము; యెహోవానగు నేను సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగానీ యింటివారి మూలముననే నేను నీకు అపా యము పుట్టింతును; నీవు చూచుచుండగా నేను నీ భార్యలను తీసి నీ చేరువ వానికప్పగించెదను.

11. This is what the Lord says: 'I am bringing trouble against you. This trouble will come from your own family. I will take your wives from you and give them to someone who is very close to you. He will have sexual relations with your wives, and everyone will know it!

12. పగటియందు వాడు వారితో శయనించును. నీవు ఈ కార్యము రహస్యముగా చేసితివిగాని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరు చూచుచుండగా పగటియందే నేను చెప్పినదానిని చేయింతును అనెను.

12. You had sexual relations with Bathsheba in secret, but I will punish you so that all the people of Israel can see it.''

13. నేను పాపముచేసితినని దావీదు నాతానుతో అనగా నాతానునీవు చావకుండునట్లు యెహోవా నీ పాపమును పరిహరించెను.

13. Then David said to Nathan, 'I have sinned against the Lord.' Nathan said to David, 'The Lord will forgive you, even for this sin. You will not die.

14. అయితే ఈ కార్యము వలన యెహోవాను దూషించుటకు ఆయన శత్రువులకు నీవు గొప్ప హేతువు కలుగజేసితివి

14. But you did things that made the Lord's enemies lose their respect for him, so your new baby son will die.'

15. గనుక నీకు పుట్టిన బిడ్డ నిశ్చయముగా చచ్చునని దావీదుతో చెప్పి తన యింటికి వెళ్లెను.

15. Then Nathan went home. And the Lord caused the baby boy who was born to David and Uriah's wife to become very sick.

16. యెహోవా ఊరియా భార్య దావీదునకు కనిన బిడ్డను మొత్తినందున అది బహు జబ్బుపడెను.

16. David prayed to God for the baby. David refused to eat or drink. He went into his house and stayed there and lay on the ground all night.

17. దావీదు ఉప వాసముండి లోపలికి పోయి రాత్రి అంతయు నేలపడి యుండి బిడ్డకొరకు దేవుని బతిమాలగా, ఇంటిలో ఎన్నిక యైనవారు లేచి అతనిని నేలనుండి లేవనెత్తుటకు వచ్చిరిగాని అతడు సమ్మతింపక వారితోకూడ భోజనము చేయక యుండెను.

17. The leaders of David's family came and tried to pull David up from the ground, but he refused to get up. He refused to eat with these leaders.

18. ఏడవ దినమున బిడ్డ చావగాబిడ్డ ప్రాణముతో ఉండగా మేము అతనితో మాటిలాడినప్పుడు అతడు మా మాటలు వినక యుండెను.

18. On the seventh day the baby died. David's servants were afraid to tell him that the baby was dead. They said, 'Look, we tried to talk to David while the baby was alive, but he refused to listen to us. If we tell David that the baby is dead, he might do something bad to himself.'

19. ఇప్పుడు బిడ్డ చనిపోయెనని మనము అతనితో చెప్పినయెడల తనకుతాను హాని చేసికొనునేమో యనుకొని, దావీదు సేవకులు బిడ్డ చనిపోయెనను సంగతి అతనితో చెప్ప వెరచిరి. అయితే దావీదు తన సేవకులు గుసగుసలాడుట చూచి బిడ్డ చనిపోయెనను సంగతి గ్రహించిబిడ్డ చనిపోయెనా అని తన సేవకుల నడుగగా వారుచని పోయెననిరి.

19. David saw his servants whispering and understood that the baby was dead. So David asked his servants, 'Is the baby dead?' The servants answered, 'Yes, he is dead.'

20. అప్పుడు దావీదు నేలనుండి లేచి స్నానముచేసి తైలము పూసికొని వేరు వస్త్రములు ధరించి యెహోవా మందిరములో ప్రవేశించి మ్రొక్కి తన యింటికి తిరిగి వచ్చి భోజనము తెమ్మనగా వారు వడ్డించిరి; అప్పుడు అతడు భోజనము చేసెను.

20. Then David got up from the floor. He washed himself. He changed his clothes and got dressed. Then he went into the Lord's house to worship. After that he went home and asked for something to eat. His servants gave him some food, and he ate.

21. అతని సేవకులుబిడ్డ జీవముతో ఉండగా ఉప వాసముండి దానికొరకు ఏడ్చుచుంటివి గాని అది మరణ మైనప్పుడు లేచి భోజనము చేసితివి. నీవీలాగున చేయుట ఏమని దావీదు నడుగగా

21. David's servants asked him, 'Why are you doing this? When the baby was alive, you cried and refused to eat. But when the baby died you got up and ate food.'

22. అతడుబిడ్డ ప్రాణముతో ఉన్నప్పుడు దేవుడు నాయందు కనికరించి వాని బ్రదికించునేమో యనుకొని నేను ఉపవాసముండి యేడ్చు చుంటిని.

22. David said, 'While the baby was still living, I cried and refused to eat because I thought, 'Who knows? Maybe the Lord will feel sorry for me and let the baby live.'

23. ఇప్పుడు చనిపోయెను గనుక నేనెందుకు ఉప వాసముండవలెను? వానిని తిరిగి రప్పించగలనా? నేను వానియొద్దకు పోవుదును గాని వాడు నాయొద్దకు మరల రాడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

23. But now the baby is dead, so why should I refuse to eat? Can I bring the baby back to life? No. Some day I will go to him, but he cannot come back to me.'

24. తరువాత దావీదు తన భార్యయైన బత్షెబను ఓదార్చి ఆమెయొద్దకు పోయి ఆమెను కూడగా ఆమె యొక కుమారుని కనెను. దావీదు అతనికి సొలొమోను అని పేరు పెట్టెను.

24. Then David comforted Bathsheba his wife. He slept with her and had sexual relations with her. Bathsheba became pregnant again and had another son. David named the boy Solomon. The Lord loved Solomon.

25. యెహోవా అతనిని ప్రేమించి నాతాను అను ప్రవక్తను పంపగా అతడు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞనుబట్టి యదీద్యా అని అతనికి పేరు పెట్టెను.

25. The Lord sent word through Nathan the prophet. Nathan gave Solomon the name, Jedidiah. Nathan did this for the Lord.

26. యోవాబు రబ్బా అను అమ్మోనీయుల పట్టణముమీద యుద్ధము చేసి రాజనగరిని పట్టుకొనెను.

26. Rabbah was the capital city of the Ammonites. Joab fought against Rabbah and captured it.

27. దావీదునొద్దకు అతడు దూతలను పంపినేను రబ్బామీద యుద్ధముచేసి జలములమీది పట్టణమును పట్టుకొంటిని;

27. Joab sent messengers to David and said, 'I have fought against Rabbah and have captured its water supply.

28. నేను పట్టణమును పట్టుకొని నా పేరు దానికి పెట్టకుండునట్లు మిగిలిన దండువారిని సమకూర్చి నీవు పట్టణమును పట్టుకొనవలెనని వర్తమానము చేయగా

28. Now bring the rest of the army together and attack Rabbah. Capture this city before I do, or else it will be called by my name.'

29. దావీదు యోధులను సమకూర్చి రబ్బాకు వచ్చి దానిమీద యుద్ధముచేసి దానిని పట్టుకొని, వారి రాజు కిరీటమును అతని తలమీదనుండి తీయించగా అది దావీదు తలమీద పెట్టబడెను. అది విలువగల రత్నములు చెక్కినదై రెండు బంగారు మనుగులంత యెత్తుండెను.

29. So David gathered all of the soldiers together and went to Rabbah. He fought against Rabbah and captured the city.

30. మరియు అతడు పట్టణములోనుండి బహు విస్తారమైన దోపుసొమ్ము పట్టుకొని పోయెను.

30. David took the crown off their king's head. The crown was gold and weighed about 75 pounds. This crown had precious stones in it. They put the crown on David's head. David took many valuable things out of the city.

31. పట్టణములో ఉన్నవారిని బయటికి తెప్పించి రంపములచేతను పదును గల యినుప పనిముట్లచేతను ఇనుప గొడ్డండ్లచేతను వారిని తుత్తునియలుగా చేయించి వారిని ఇటుక ఆవములో వేసెను. అమ్మోనీయుల పట్టణములన్నిటికి అతడు ఈలాగు చేసెను. ఆ తరువాత దావీదును జనులందరును తిరిగి యెరూషలేమునకు వచ్చిరి.

31. David also brought out the people of the city of Rabbah and made them work with saws, iron picks, and axes. He also forced them to build things with bricks. He did the same thing to all of the Ammonite cities. Then David and the army went back to Jerusalem.
