1. తరువాత దావీదు కుమారుడగు అబ్షాలోమునకు తామారను నొక సుందరవతియగు సహోదరియుండగా దావీదు కుమారుడగు అమ్నోను ఆమెను మోహించెను.

1. And it happened after this that Absalom the son of David had a very beautiful sister, and her name [was] Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.

2. తామారు కన్యయైనందున ఆమెకు ఏమి చేయవలెనన్నను దుర్లభమని అమ్నోను గ్రహించి చింతాక్రాంతుడై తన చెల్లెలైన తామారునుబట్టి చిక్కిపోయెను.

2. And Amnon was distressed even to sickness, because of Tamar his sister; for she was a virgin, and it seemed very difficult for Amnon to do anything to her.

3. అమ్నోనునకు మిత్రుడొకడుండెను. అతడు దావీదు సహోదరుడైన షిమ్యా కుమారుడు, అతని పేరు యెహోనాదాబు. ఈ యెహోనాదాబు బహు కపటముగలవాడు. అతడు

3. Now Amnon had a friend, and his name [was] Jonadab, the son of Shimeah the brother of David: and Jonadab [was] a very cunning man.

4. రాజకుమారుడవైన నీవు నానాటికి చిక్కిపోవుటకు హేతువేమి? సంగతి నాకు తెలియజెప్పవా అని అమ్నోనుతో అనగా అమ్నోనునా తమ్ముడగు అబ్షాలోము సహోదరియైన తామారును నేను మోహించియున్నానని అతనితో అనెను.

4. And he said to him, What ails you, that you are weak like this? O son of the king, morning by morning? Will you not tell me? And Amnon said, I love Tamar the sister of my brother Absalom.

5. యెహోనాదాబు­నీవు రోగివైనట్టువేషము వేసికొని నీ మంచముమీద పండుకొనియుండుము. నీ తండ్రి నిన్ను చూచుటకు వచ్చినప్పుడు నీవు­నా చెల్లెలైన తామారుచేత సిద్ధపరచబడిన భోజనము నేను భుజించునట్లు ఆమె వచ్చి నేను చూచుచుండగా దానిని సిద్ధము చేసి నాకు పెట్టునట్లు సెలవిమ్మని అడుగుమని అతనికి బోధింపగా అమ్నోను పడకమీద పండుకొనెను.

5. And Jonadab said to him, Lie upon your bed, and make yourself sick, and your father shall come in to see you; and you shall say to him, Let Tamar my sister come, and feed me with morsels, and let her prepare food before my eyes, that I may see and eat at her hands.

6. అమ్నోను కాయిలాపడెనని రాజు అతని చూడ వచ్చినప్పుడు అమ్నోనునా చెల్లెలగు తామారు చేతి వంటకము నేను భుజించునట్లు ఆమె వచ్చి నేను చూచుచుండగా నాకొరకు రెండు అప్పములు చేయుటకు సెల విమ్మని రాజుతో మనవి చేయగా

6. So Ammon laid down and made himself sick; and the king came in to see him. And Amnon said to the king, Let my sister Tamar come to me, and make a couple of cakes in my sight, and I will eat them at her hand.

7. దావీదునీ అన్నయగు అమ్నోను ఇంటికి పోయి అతనికొరకు భోజనము సిద్ధము చేయుమని తామారు ఇంటికి వర్తమానము పంపెను.

7. And David sent to Tamar to the house, saying, Go now to your brother's house, and prepare food for him.

8. కాబట్టి తామారు తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోను ఇంటికి పోయెను.

8. And Tamar went to the house of her brother Amnon, and he [was] lying down: and she took the dough and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and baked the cakes.

9. అతడు పండుకొనియుండగా ఆమె పిండితీసికొని కలిపి అతని యెదుట అప్పములు చేసి వాటిని కాల్చి బొరుసు పట్టుకొని అతనికి వడ్డింపగా అతడునాకు వద్దని చెప్పిఉన్నవారందరు నాయొద్ద నుండి అవతలకు పొండ నెను.

9. And she took the frying pan and poured them out before him, but he would not eat. And Amnon said, Send out every man from about me. And they removed every man from about him.

10. వారందరు బయటికి పోయిన తరువాత అమ్నోనునీచేతి వంటకము నేను భుజించునట్లు దానిని గదిలోనికి తెమ్మనగా, తామారు తాను చేసిన అప్పములను తీసికొని గదిలోపలనున్న తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోను నొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

10. And Amnon said to Tamar, Bring in the food into the closet, and I will eat of your hand. And Tamar took the cakes which she had made, and brought them to her brother Amnon into the chamber.

11. అయితే అతడు భుజింపవలెనని ఆమె వాటిని తీసికొనివచ్చినప్పుడు అతడు ఆమెను పట్టుకొనినా చెల్లీ రమ్ము, నాతో శయనించుము అని చెప్పగా

11. And she brought [them] to him to eat, and he caught hold of her, and said to her, Come, lie with me, my sister.

12. ఆమెనా అన్నా, నన్ను అవమానపరచకుము; ఈలాగు చేయుట ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు తగదు, ఇట్టి జారకార్యము నీవు చేయవద్దు, నా యవమానము నేనెక్కడ దాచు కొందును?

12. And she said to him, No, my brother, do not humble me, for it ought not to be so done in Israel; do not do this disgraceful thing!

13. నీవును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో దుర్మార్గుడవగు దువు; అయితే ఇందునుగూర్చి రాజుతో మాటలాడుము;

13. And I, where shall I remove my reproach? And you shall be as one of the fools in Israel. And now, speak to the king, for surely he will not keep me from you.

14. అతడు నన్ను నీకియ్యక పోడు అని చెప్పినను అతడు ఆమె మాట వినక ఆమెను బలవంతముచేసి అవమానపరచి ఆమెతో శయనించెను.

14. But Amnon would not hearken to her voice; and he prevailed against her, and humbled her, and lay with her.

15. అమ్నోను ఈలాగు చేసిన తరువాత ఆమెయెడల అత్యధికమైన ద్వేషము పుట్టి అదివరకు ఆమెను ప్రేమించినంతకంటె అతడు మరి యెక్కువగా ఆమెను ద్వేషించి లేచి పొమ్మని ఆమెతో చెప్పగా

15. Then Amnon hated her with very great hatred; for the hatred with which he hated her was greater than the love with which he had loved her, for the last wickedness was greater than the first. And Amnon said to her, Get up, and get out!

16. ఆమెనన్ను బయటకు తోసివేయుటవలన నాకు నీవిప్పుడు చేసిన కీడుకంటె మరి యెక్కువకీడు చేయకుమని చెప్పినను

16. And Tamar spoke to him concerning this great mischief, [saying,] this is greater than the other that you did to me, to send me away. But Amnon would not hearken to her voice.

17. అతడు ఆమె మాట వినక తన పని వారిలో ఒకని పిలిచిదీనిని నాయొద్దనుండి వెళ్లగొట్టి తలుపు గడియ వేయుమని చెప్పెను.

17. And he called his servant who had charge of the house, and said to him, Put this [woman] out from me, and shut the door behind her.

18. కన్యకలైన రాజకుమార్తెలు వివిధ వర్ణములుగల చీరలు ధరించువారు ఆమె యట్టి చీరయొకటి ధరించి యుండెను. పనివాడు ఆమెను బయటికి వెళ్లగొట్టి మరల రాకుండునట్లు తలుపు గడియవేసెను.

18. And she had on herself a multi-colored robe, for so were the king's daughters that were virgins attired in their apparel. And his servant led her forth, and shut the door behind her.

19. అప్పుడు తామారు నెత్తిమీద బుగ్గిపోసికొని తాను కట్టుకొనిన వివిధ వర్ణములుగల చీరను చింపి నెత్తి మీద చెయ్యిపెట్టుకొని యేడ్చుచు పోగా
మత్తయి 26:65

19. And Tamar took ashes, and put them on her head. And she tore the robe that was on her, and she laid her hands on her head, and went crying continually.

20. ఆమె అన్నయగు అబ్షాలోము ఆమెను చూచినీ అన్నయగు అమ్నోను నిన్ను కూడినాడు గదా? నా చెల్లీ నీవు ఊర కుండుము; అతడు నీ అన్నే గదా, యిందునుగూర్చి చింతపడవద్దనెను. కావున తామారు చెరుపబడినదై తన అన్నయగు అబ్షాలోము ఇంట నుండెను.

20. And Absalom her brother said to her, Has your brother Amnon been with you? Now then, my sister, be silent, for he is your brother: be not careful to mention this matter. So Tamar dwelt as a widow in the house of her brother Absalom.

21. ఈ సంగతి రాజగు దావీదునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు బహురౌద్రము తెచ్చుకొనెను.

21. And King David heard of all these things, and was very angry; but he did not grieve the spirit of his son Amnon, because he loved him, for he was his firstborn.

22. అబ్షాలోము తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోనుతో మంచి చెడ్డ లేమియు మాటలాడక ఊరకుండెను గాని, తన సహోదరియగు తామారును బలవంతము చేసి నందుకై అతనిమీద పగయుంచెను.

22. And Absalom spoke not to Amnon, [neither] good or bad, because Absalom hated Amnon, on account of his humbling of his sister Tamar.

23. రెండు సంవత్సరములైన తరువాత ఎఫ్రాయిమునకు సమీపమందుండు బయల్దాసోరులో అబ్షాలోము గొఱ్ఱెల బొచ్చు కత్తిరించుకాలము రాగా అబ్షాలోము రాజకుమారుల నందరిని విందునకు పిలిచెను.

23. And it came to pass at the end of two whole years, that they were shearing [sheep] for Absalom in Baal Hazor, near Ephraim. And Absalom invited all the king's sons.

24. అబ్షాలోము రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చిచిత్తగించుము, నీ దాసుడనైన నాకు గొఱ్ఱె బొచ్చు కత్తిరించు కాలము వచ్చెను; రాజవైన నీవును నీ సేవకులును విందునకు రావలెనని నీ దాసుడనైన నేను కోరుచున్నానని మనవి చేయగా

24. And Absalom came to the king, and said, Behold, your servant has a sheep-shearing; let now the king and his servants go with your servant.

25. రాజునా కుమారుడా, మమ్మును పిలువవద్దు; మేము నీకు అధిక భారముగా ఉందుము; మేమందరము రాతగదని చెప్పినను అబ్షాలోము రాజును బలవంతము చేసెను.

25. And the king said to Absalom, No, my son, let us not all go, and let us not be burdensome to you. And he pressed him; but he would not go, but blessed him.

26. అయితే దావీదు వెళ్ల నొల్లక అబ్షాలోమును దీవించి పంపగా అబ్షాలోమునీవు రాకపోయిన యెడల నా అన్నయగు అమ్నోను మాతోకూడ వచ్చునట్లు సెలవిమ్మని రాజుతో మనవి చేసెను. అతడు నీయొద్దకు ఎందుకు రావలెనని రాజు అడుగగా

26. And Absalom said to him, And if not, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, Why should he go with you?

27. అబ్షాలోము అతని బతిమాలినందున రాజు అమ్నోనును తన కుమారులందరును అతని యొద్దకు పోవచ్చు నని సెలవిచ్చెను.

27. And Absalom pressed him, and he sent with him Amnon and all the king's sons; and Absalom made a banquet like the banquet of the king.

28. అంతలో అబ్షాలోము తన పనివారిని పిలిచి, అమ్నోను ద్రాక్షారసమువలన సంతోషియై యుండుట మీరు కనిపెట్టియుండి అమ్నోనును హతము చేయుడని నేను మీతో చెప్పు నప్పుడు భయపడక అతని చంపుడి, నేను గదా మీకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి యున్నాను, ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని పౌరుషము చూపుడి అని గట్టిగా ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

28. And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Take notice when the heart of Amnon shall be merry with wine, and I shall say to you, Smite Amnon, and kill him: fear not; for is it not I that command you? Be courageous, and be valiant.

29. అబ్షాలోము ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞచొప్పునవారు చేయగా రాజకుమారులందరును లేచి తమ కంచరగాడిదల నెక్కి పారిపోయిరి.

29. And the servants of Absalom did to Amnon as Absalom commanded them. And all the sons of the king rose up, and they mounted every man his mule, and fled.

30. వారు మార్గములో ఉండగానే యొకడును లేకుండ రాజకుమారులను అందరిని అబ్షాలోము హతముచేసెనని దావీదునకు వార్త రాగా

30. And it came to pass, when they were in the way, that a report came to David, saying, Absalom has slain all the king's sons, and there is not one of them left.

31. అతడు లేచి వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని నేలపడియుండెను; మరియు అతని సేవకులందరు వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని దగ్గర నిలువబడియుండిరి.

31. Then the king arose, and tore his clothes, and lay upon the ground. And all his servants that were standing round him tore their clothes.

32. దావీదు సహోదరుడైన షిమ్యాకు పుట్టిన యెహోనాదాబు దీనిని చూచిరాజకుమారులైన ¸యవ నులనందరిని వారు చంపిరని నా యేలినవాడవగు నీవు తలంచవద్దు; అమ్నోను మాత్రమే మరణమాయెను; ఏల యనగా అతడు అబ్షాలోము చెల్లెలైన తామారును బలవంతము చేసిననాటనుండి అబ్షా లోము అతని చంపవలెనను తాత్పర్యముతో ఉండెనని అతని నోటి మాటనుబట్టి నిశ్చ యించుకొనవచ్చును.

32. And Jonadab the son of Shimeah, David's brother, answered and said, Let not my Lord the king say that he has slain all the young men the sons of the king, for Amnon alone is dead; for he was appointed [to death] by the mouth of Absalom from the day that he humbled his sister Tamar.

33. కాబట్టి నా యేలినవాడవగు నీవు రాజకుమారులందరును మరణమైరని తలచి విచారపడవద్దు; అమ్నోను మాత్రమే మరణమాయెననెను.

33. And now let not my lord the king take the matter to heart, saying, All the king's sons are dead: for Amnon alone is dead.

34. అబ్షాలోము ఇంతకు ముందు పారిపోయి యుండెను. కావలియున్న పని వాడు ఎదురుచూచుచున్నప్పుడు తన వెనుక కొండ ప్రక్కనున్న మార్గమున వచ్చుచున్న అనేక జనులు కనబడిరి.

34. And Absalom escaped. And the watchman lifted up his eyes and looked; and behold, many people went in the way behind him from the side of the mountain in the descent. And the watchman came and told the king, and said, I have seen men by the way of Horonaim, by the side of the mountain.

35. యెహోనాదాబు అదిగో రాజకుమారులు వచ్చియున్నారు; నీ దాసుడనైన నేను చెప్పిన ప్రకారము గానే ఆయెనని రాజుతో చెప్పెను.

35. And Jonadab said to the king, Behold, the king' sons are present: according to the word of your servant, so has it happened.

36. అతడు ఆమాటలాడ చాలింపగానే రాజకుమారులు వచ్చి బిగ్గరగా ఏడ్వ సాగిరి, రాజును అతని సేవకులందరును దీనిని చూచి బహుగా ఏడ్చిరి.

36. And it came to pass when he had finished speaking, that behold, the king's sons came, and lifted up their voices and wept; and the king also and all his servants wept with a very great weeping.

37. అయితే అబ్షాలోము పారిపోయి అమీహూదు కుమారుడైన తల్మయి అను గెషూరు రాజునొద్ద చేరెను. దావీదు అనుదినమును తన కుమారునికొరకు అంగలార్చుచుండెను.

37. But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai son of Ammihud the king of Geshur, to the land of Hamaachad: and King David mourned for his son continually.

38. అబ్షాలోము పారిపోయి గెషూరునకు వచ్చి అక్కడ మూడు సంవత్సరములున్న తరువాత

38. So Absalom fled, and departed to Geshur, and was there three years.

39. రాజైన దావీదు అమ్నోను మరణమాయెననుకొని అతనినిగూర్చి యోదార్పు నొందినవాడై అబ్షాలోమును పట్టుకొనవలెనన్న ఆలోచన మానెను.

39. And King David ceased to go out after Absalom, for he was comforted concerning Amnon, regarding his death.
