1. దావీదు కాలమున మూడు సంవత్సరములు విడువ కుండ కరవుకలుగగా దావీదు యెహోవాతో మనవి చేసెను. అందుకు యెహోవా ఈలాగున సెల విచ్చెనుసౌలు గిబియోనీయులను హతముచేసెను గనుక అతనిని బట్టియు, నరహంతకులగు అతని యింటివారినిబట్టియు శిక్షగా ఈ కరవు కలిగెను.

1. Then there was an hunger in the dayes of Dauid three yeres together: And Dauid enquired of ye Lorde. And the Lorde aunswered: It is for Saul, and the house of blood, because he slue the Gibeonites.

2. గిబియోనీయులు ఇశ్రా యేలీయుల సంబంధికులు కారు, వారు అమోరీయులలో శేషించినవారు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు మిమ్మును చంపమని ప్రమాణపూర్వకముగా వారితో చెప్పియుండిరి గాని సౌలు ఇశ్రాయేలు యూదాల వారియందు ఆసక్తిగలవాడై వారిని హతము చేయ చూచుచుండెను.

2. And the king called the Gibeonites, and saide vnto them: (Now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but a remnaunt of the Amorites, and the children of Israel sware vnto them: And Saul sought to slay them, for a zeale that he had to the children of Israel and of Iuda.)

3. రాజగు దావీదు గిబియోనీయులను పిలువనంపినేను మీకేమి చేయగోరు దురు? యెహోవా స్వాస్థ్యమును మీరు దీవించునట్లు దోష నివృత్తికై దేనిచేత నేను ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము చేయుదునని వారిని అడుగగా

3. Wherefore Dauid saide vnto the Gibeonites: What shall I do for you, & wherewith shall I make the attonement, that ye may blesse ye inheritaunce of the Lorde?

4. గిబియోనీయులుసౌలు అతని యింటి వారును చేసిన దాని నిమిత్తము ప్రాయశ్చిత్తము కలుగుటకై వెండి బంగారులే గాని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో ఎవరినైనను చంపుటయే గాని మేము కోరుట లేదనిరి. అంతట దావీదు మీరేమి కోరుదురో దానిని నేను మీకు చేయుదుననగా

4. The Gibeonites aunswered him: We will haue no siluer nor golde of Saul nor of his house, neither is it our mind that thou shouldest kil any man in Israel. He saide: What you shall say, that will I do for you.

5. వారుమాకు శత్రువులై మమ్మును నాశనము చేయుచు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల సరిహద్దులలో ఉండకుండ మేము లయమగునట్లు మాకు హానిచేయ నుద్దేశించినవాని కుమారులలో ఏడుగురిని మాకప్పగించుము.

5. They aunswered the king: The man that consumed vs, and imagined to bring vs to naught, that we are destroyed from remaining in any of the coastes of Israel:

6. యెహోవా ఏర్పరచు కొనిన సౌలు గిబియా పట్టణములో యెహోవా సన్నిధిని మేము వారిని ఉరితీసెదమని రాజుతో మనవి చేయగా రాజునేను వారిని అప్పగించెదననెను.

6. Let seuen men of his sonnes be deliuered vnto vs, & we will hang them vp vnto the Lorde in Gibeah of Saul whom ye Lord did choose. And the king saide: I will geue them you.

7. తానును సౌలు కుమారుడగు యోనాతానును యెహోవా నామ మునుబట్టి ప్రమాణము చేసియున్న హేతువుచేత రాజు సౌలు కుమారుడగు యోనాతానునకు పుట్టిన మెఫీబోషెతును అప్పగింపక

7. But the king had compassion on Miphiboseth the sonne of Ionathan the sonne of Saul, because of the Lordes oth that was betweene them, euen betweene Dauid & Ionathan the sonne of Saul.

8. అయ్యా కుమార్తెయగు రిస్పా సౌలునకు కనిన యిద్దరు కుమారులగు అర్మోనిని మెఫీబోషెతును, సౌలు కుమార్తెయగు మెరాబు మెహూలతీయుడగు బర్జిల్లయి కుమారుడైన అద్రీయేలునకు కనిన అయిదుగురు కుమారులను పట్టుకొని గిబియోనీయుల కప్పగించెను.

8. But the king toke the two sonnes of Rispha the daughter of Aia whom she bare vnto Saul, euen Armoni and Miphiboseth, and the fiue sonnes of Michol the daughter of Saul, whom she bare to Adriel the sonne of Barzellai the Meholathite.

9. వారు ఈ యేడు గురిని తీసికొనిపోయి కొండమీద యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఉరితీసిరి. ఆ యేడుగురు ఏకరీతినే చంపబడిరి; కోతకాలమున యవలకోత యారంభమందు వారు మరణమైరి.

9. And he deliuered them vnto ye handes of the Gibeonites, which hanged them in the hill before the Lorde: And they fell all seuen together, and were slaine in the dayes of haruest, euen in the first dayes, and in the beginning of barlye haruest.

10. అయ్యా కుమార్తెయగు రిస్పా గోనెపట్ట తీసికొని కొండపైన పరచుకొని కోత కాలారంభము మొదలుకొని ఆకాశమునుండి వర్షము ఆ కళేబరములమీద కురియువరకు అచ్చటనే యుండి, పగలు ఆకాశపక్షులు వాటిమీద వాలకుండను రాత్రి అడవిమృగములు దగ్గరకు రాకుండను వాటిని కాచుచుండగా

10. And Rispha the daughter of Aia, toke sackcloth, & hanged it vp for her vpon the rocke [euen] from the beginning of haruest, vntill water dropped vpon them out of heauen, & suffered neither the byrdes of the ayre to lyght on them by day, nor beastes of ye fielde by night.

11. అయ్యా కుమార్తెయగు రిస్పా అను సౌలు ఉపపత్ని చేసినది దావీదునకు వినబడెను.

11. And it was tolde Dauid what Rispha the daughter of Aia the concubine of Saul, had done.

12. కాబట్టి దావీదు పోయి సౌలు ఎముకలను అతని కుమారుడైన యోనాతాను ఎముకలను యాబేష్గిలాదు వారియొద్దనుండి తెప్పించెను. ఫిలిష్తీయులు గిల్బోవలో సౌలును హతము చేసినప్పుడు వారు సౌలును యోనా తానును బేత్షాను పట్టణపు వీధిలో వ్రేలాడగట్టగా యాబేష్గిలాదు వారు వారి యెముకలను అచ్చటనుండి దొంగిలి తెచ్చి యుండిరి.

12. And Dauid went and toke the bones of Saul and of Ionathan his sonne, from the citezins of Iabes in Gilead, which had stolen them from the streate of Bethsan where the Philistines had hanged them, whe the Philistines had slaine Saul in Gilboa:

13. కావున దావీదు వారియొద్దనుండి సౌలు ఎముకలను అతని కుమారుడైన యోనాతాను ఎముకలను తెప్పించెను, రాజాజ్ఞనుబట్టి ఉరితీయబడినవారి యెముకలను జనులు సమకూర్చిరి.

13. And he brought thence the bones of Saul, and the bones of Ionathan his sonne, and they gathered the bones of them that were hanged.

14. సౌలు ఎముకలను అతని కుమారుడైన యోనాతాను ఎముకలను బెన్యామీనీయుల దేశమునకు చేరిన సేలాలోనున్న సౌలు తండ్రియగు కీషు సమాధియందు పాతిపెట్టిరి. రాజు ఈలాగు చేసిన తరువాత దేశముకొరకు చేయబడిన విజ్ఞాపనమును దేవు డంగీకరించెను.

14. And the bones of Saul & Ionathan his sonne buryed they in the countrey of Beniamin, in Zela, in the sepulchre of Cis his father: And when they had perfourmed al that the king commaunded, God was then at one with the land.

15. ఫిలిష్తీయులకును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకును యుద్ధము మరల జరుగగా దావీదు తన సేవకులతోకూడ దిగిపోయి ఫిలిష్తీయులతో యుద్ధము చేయునప్పుడు అతడు సొమ్మ సిల్లెను.

15. Moreouer, yt Philistines had yet warre againe with Israel, and Dauid went downe and his seruauntes with him, & fought against the Philistines: And Dauid waxed faintie.

16. అప్పుడు రెఫాయీయుల సంతతివాడగు ఇష్బిబేనోబ అను ఒకడు ఉండెను. అతడు ధరించియున్న ఖడ్గము క్రొత్తది, వాని యీటె మూడువందల తులముల యెత్తు యిత్తడిగలదినేను దావీదును చంపెదనని అతడు చెప్పియుండెను.

16. And Iesbi benob one of the sonnes of the giauntes (the iron of whose speare wayed three hundred sicles of brasse) and he being gyrded with a new sword, thought to haue slaine Dauid.

17. సెరూయా కుమారుడైన అబీషై రాజును ఆదుకొని ఆ ఫిలిష్తీయుని కొట్టి చంపెను. దావీదు జనులు దీనిచూచి, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు దీపమగు నీవు ఆరిపోకుండునట్లు నీవు ఇకమీదట మాతోకూడ యుద్ధమునకు రావద్దని అతనిచేత ప్రమాణము చేయించిరి.

17. But Abisai the sonne of Zaruia succoured him, & smote the Philistine, and killed him. Then the seruauntes of Dauid sware vnto him, saying: Thou shalt go no more out with vs to battaile, that thou quenche not the light of Israel.

18. అటుతరువాత ఫిలిష్తీయులతో గోబుదగ్గర మరల యుద్ధము జరుగగా హూషాతీయుడైన సిబ్బెకై రెఫా యీయుల సంతతివాడగు సఫును చంపెను.

18. And yet after this, there was a battaile with the Philistines at Gob, and then Sibbechai the Husathite slue Saph which was one of ye sonnes of the giauntes.

19. తరువాత గోబుదగ్గర ఫిలిష్తీయులతో ఇంకొకసారి యుద్ధము జరుగగా అక్కడ బేత్లెహేమీయుడైన యహరేయోరెగీము కుమారుడగు ఎల్హానాను గిత్తీయుడైన గొల్యాతు సహోదరుని చంపెను; వాని యీటెకఱ్ఱనేతగాని దోనె అంత గొప్పది.

19. And there was another battaile in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the sonne of Iaere Oregim a Beth lehennite slue Goliath ye Gethite: the staffe of whose speare was as great as a weauers clothbeame.

20. ఇంకొక యుద్ధము గాతుదగ్గర జరిగెను. అక్కడ మంచి యెత్తరి యొక డుండెను, ఒక్కొక చేతికి ఆరేసి వ్రేళ్లును, ఇరువది నాలుగు వ్రేళ్లు అతని కుండెను. అతడు రెఫాయీయుల సంతతివాడు.

20. And there was yet another battaile in Geth, wher was a man of a great stature, and had on euery hand sixe fingers, & on euery foote sixe toes, foure & twentie in number, and was borne also of the kindred of the giauntes in Geth.

21. అతడు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులను తిరస్కరించుచుండగా దావీదు సహోదరుడైన షిమ్యాకు పుట్టిన యోనాతాను అతనిని చంపెను.

21. And when he defyed Israel, Ionathan the sonne of Simea the brother of Dauid slue him.

22. ఈ నలుగురును గాతులోనున్న రెఫాయీయుల సంతతివారై దావీదువలనను అతని సేవకులవలనను హతులైరి.

22. These foure were borne to the giaunt in Geth, and dyed by the hand of Dauid, & by the handes of his seruauntes.
