1. ఇశ్రాయేలువారి సకల గోత్రములవారు హెబ్రోనులో దావీదునొద్దకు వచ్చిచిత్తగించుము; మేము నీ ఎముకనంటినవారము రక్తసంబంధులము;

1. And all the tribes of Israel came to David to Hebron, and they said to him, Behold, we [are] your bone and your flesh.

2. పూర్వ కాలమున సౌలు మామీద రాజై యుండగా నీవు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను నడిపించువాడవై ఉంటివి. అయితే ఇప్పుడునీవు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులనుబట్టి నా జనులను పాలించి వారిమీద అధిపతివై యుందువని యెహోవా నిన్నుగురించి సెల విచ్చియున్నాడని చెప్పిరి.

2. And before, when Saul was king over us, you were the one who led Israel out and brought them in; and the Lord said to you, You shall feed My people Israel, and you shall be for a leader to My people Israel.

3. మరియు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి పెద్దలందరు హెబ్రోనులో రాజునొద్దకు రాగా రాజైన దావీదు హెబ్రోనులో యెహోవా సన్నిధిని వారితో నిబంధన చేసెను గనుక ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీద రాజగుటకై వారు దావీదునకు పట్టాభిషేకము చేసిరి.

3. And all the elders of Israel come to the king at Hebron; and King David made a covenant with them at Hebron before the Lord; and they anointed David king over all Israel.

4. దావీదు ముప్పది యేండ్లవాడై యేల నారంభించి నలు వది సంవత్సరములు పరిపాలనచేసెను.

4. David [was] thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

5. హెబ్రోనులో అతడు యూదా వారందరిమీద ఏడు సంవత్సరములు ఆరు మాసములు, యెరూషలేములో ఇశ్రాయేలు యూదాల వారందరిమీద ముప్పదిమూడు సంవత్సరములు పరిపాలన చేసెను.

5. Seven years and six months he reigned in Hebron over Judah, and thirty-three years he reigned over all Israel and Judah in Jerusalem.

6. యెబూసీయులు దేశములో నివాసులై యుండగా రాజును అతని పక్షమువారును యెరూ షలేమునకు వచ్చిరి.

6. And David and his men departed to Jerusalem, to the Jebusite that inhabited the land. And it was said to David, You shall not come in here (for the blind and the lame withstood him, saying, David shall not come in here).

7. యెబూసీయులు దావీదు లోపలికి రాలేడని తలంచినీవు వచ్చినయెడల ఇచ్చటి గ్రుడ్డి వారును కుంటివారును నిన్ను తోలివేతురని దావీదునకు వర్తమానము పంపియుండిరి అయినను దావీదు పురమన బడిన సీయోను కోటను దావీదు స్వాధీన పరచుకొనెను. ఆ దినమున అతడు

7. And David first took hold of Zion (that [is], the City of David).

8. యెబూసీయులను హతము చేయు వారందరు నీటి కాలువపైకి వెళ్లి, దావీదునకు హేయులైన గ్రుడ్డివారిని కుంటివారిని హతము చేయవలెనని చెప్పెను. అందును బట్టి గ్రుడ్డివారును కుంటివారును ఉన్నారు; అతడు ఇంటిలోనికి రాలేడని సామెతపుట్టెను.

8. And David said on that day, Everyone that smites the Jebusite, let him attack with the dagger both the lame and the blind, and those that hate the soul of David. Therefore they say, The lame and the blind shall not enter into the house of the Lord.

9. దావీదు ఆ కోటలో కాపురముండి దానికి దావీదుపురమను పేరు పెట్టెను. మరియు మిల్లోనుండి దిగువకు దావీదు ఒక ప్రాకారమును కట్టించెను.

9. And David dwelt in the stronghold, and it was called the City of David, and he built the city itself round about from the citadel, and [he built] his own house.

10. దావీదు అంతకంతకు వర్ధిల్లెను. సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా అతనికి తోడుగా ఉండెను.

10. And David advanced and became great, and the Lord Almighty [was] with him.

11. తూరురాజగు హీరాము, దూతలను దేవదారు మ్రాను లను వడ్రంగులను కాసెపనివారిని పంపగా వారు దావీదు కొరకు ఒక నగరిని కట్టిరి.

11. And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar wood, and carpenters, and stone masons; and they built a house for David.

12. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద యెహోవా తన్ను రాజుగా స్థిరపరచెననియు, ఇశ్రా యేలీయులనుబట్టి ఆయన జనుల నిమిత్తము, రాజ్యము ప్రబలము చేయుననియు దావీదు గ్రహించెను.

12. And David knew that the Lord had prepared him to be king over Israel, and that his kingdom was exalted for the sake of His people Israel.

13. దావీదు హెబ్రోనునుండి వచ్చిన తరువాత యెరూష లేములోనుండి యింక అనేకమైన ఉపపత్నులను భార్యలను చేసికొనగా దావీదునకు ఇంకను పెక్కుమంది కుమారులును కుమార్తెలును పుట్టిరి

13. And David took again wives and concubines out of Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron: and David had still more sons and daughters born to him.

14. యెరూషలేములో అతనికి పుట్టినవారెవరనగా షమ్మూ యషోబాబు

14. And these [are] the names of those that were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

15. నాతాను సొలొమోను ఇభారు ఏలీషూవ నెపెగు యాఫీయ

15. Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia,

16. ఎలీషామా ఎల్యాదా ఎలీపేలెటు అనువారు.

16. Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet.

17. జనులు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద రాజుగా దావీదునకు పట్టాభిషేకము చేసిరని ఫిలిష్తీయులకు వినబడినప్పుడు దావీదును పట్టుకొనుటకై ఫిలిష్తీయులందరు వచ్చిరి. దావీదు ఆ వార్తవిని ప్రాకారస్థలమునకు వెళ్లిపోయెను.

17. And the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over Israel; and all the Philistines went up to seek David. And David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold.

18. ఫలిష్తీయులు దండెత్తివచ్చి రెఫాయీము లోయలో వ్యాపింపగా

18. And the Philistines came, and assembled in the Valley of Giants.

19. దావీదునేను ఫిలిష్తీయుల కెదురుగా పోయెదనా? వారిని నా చేతికప్పగింతువా? అని యెహోవా యొద్దవిచారించినప్పుడుపొమ్ము, నిస్సందేహముగా వారిని నీ చేతికప్పగించుదునని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చెను.

19. And David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? And will You deliver them into my hands? And the Lord said to David, Go up, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.

20. కాబట్టి దావీదు బయల్పెరాజీమునకు వచ్చి అచ్చట వారిని హతముచేసి, జలప్రవాహములు కొట్టుకొనిపోవునట్లు యెహోవా నాశత్రువులను నా యెదుట నిలువకుండ నాశనము చేసెననుకొని ఆ స్థలమునకు బయల్పెరాజీమను పేరు పెట్టెను.

20. And David came from the Upper Breaches, and attacked the Philistines there. And David said, The Lord has destroyed the hostile Philistines from before me, as water is dispersed; therefore the name of that place was called Over Breaches.

21. ఫలిష్తీయులు తమ బొమ్మలను అచ్చట విడిచిపెట్టి పారిపోగా దావీదును అతని వారును వాటిని పట్టు కొనిరి.

21. And they left their gods there, and David and his men took them.

22. ఫిలిష్తీయులు మరల వచ్చి రెఫాయీము లోయలో వ్యాపింపగా

22. And the Philistines came up yet again, and assembled in the Valley of Giants.

23. దావీదు యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణ చేసెను. అందుకు యెహోవానీవు వెళ్లవద్దుచుట్టు తిరిగిపోయి, కంబళిచెట్లకు ఎదురుగావారిమీద పడుము.

23. And David inquired of the Lord. And the Lord said, You shall not go up to meet them: turn from them, and you shall meet them near the Place of Weeping.

24. కంబళిచెట్ల కొనలను చప్పుడు వినగానే ఫిలిష్తీయులను హతముచేయుటకై యెహోవా బయలుదేరుచున్నాడు గనుక అప్పుడే నీవు త్వరగా బయలుదేరవలెనని సెల విచ్చెను.

24. And it shall come to pass when you hear the sound of a clashing together from the Grove of Weeping, then you shall go down to them, for then the Lord shall go forth before you to create havoc in the battle with the Philistines.

25. దావీదు యెహోవా తనకాజ్ఞాపించిన ప్రకారము చేసి, గెబనుండి గెజెరువరకు ఫిలిష్తీయులను తరుముచు హతముచేసెను.

25. And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Gibeon as far as the land of Gezer.
