1. King David was now very old. He couldn't keep warm even when blankets were spread over him.

2. So his servants spoke to him. They said, 'You are our king and master. Please let us try to find a young virgin to help you. She can take care of you. She can lie down beside you. Then you can keep warm.'

3. So David's servants looked all over Israel for a beautiful young woman. They found Abishag. She was from the town of Shunem. They brought her to the king.

4. ఈ చిన్నది బహు చక్కనిదై యుండి రాజును ఆదరించి ఉపచారము చేయు చుండెను గాని రాజు దానిని కూడలేదు.

4. The woman was very beautiful. She took care of the king and served him. But the king didn't have sex with her.

5. హగ్గీతు కుమారుడైన అదోనీయా గర్వించిన వాడైనేనే రాజు నగుదునని అనుకొని, రథములను గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులను తనకు ముందుగా పరుగెత్తుటకు ఏబదిమంది మనుష్యులను ఏర్ప రచుకొనెను.

5. Adonijah was the son of David and his wife Haggith. He came forward and announced, 'I'm going to be the next king.' So he got chariots and horses ready. He also got 50 men to run in front of him.

6. అతని తండ్రినీవు ఈలాగున ఏల చేయు చున్నావని అతనిచేత ఎప్పుడును విచారించి అతనికి నొప్పి కలుగజేయలేదు. చూచుటకు అతడు బహు సౌంద ర్యము గలవాడు, అబ్షాలోము తరువాత పుట్టినవాడు.

6. His father had never tried to stop him from doing what he wanted to. His father had never asked him, 'Why are you acting the way you do?' Adonijah was also very handsome. Now that Absalom was dead, Adonijah was David's oldest son.

8. But the priest Zadok and Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, didn't join Adonijah. The prophet Nathan didn't join him. Shimei and Rei didn't join him. And neither did David's special guard.

9. అదోనీయా ఏన్‌రోగేలు సమీప మందుండు జోహెలేతు అను బండదగ్గర గొఱ్ఱెలను ఎడ్లను క్రొవ్విన దూడలను బలిగా అర్పించి, రాజకుమారు లగు తన సహోదరులనందరిని యూదావారగు రాజు యొక్క సేవకులనందరిని పిలిపించెను గాని

9. Adonijah sacrificed sheep, cattle and fat calves. He sacrificed them at the Stone of Zoheleth near En Rogel. He invited all of his brothers, the king's sons, and all of the men of Judah who were royal officials.

10. ప్రవక్తయగు నాతానును బెనాయనును దావీదు శూరులను తనకు సహోదరుడైన సొలొమోనును పిలువలేదు.

10. But he didn't invite Benaiah or the prophet Nathan. He didn't invite the special guard or his brother Solomon either.

11. అప్పుడు నాతాను సొలొమోను తల్లియైన బత్షెబతో చెప్పిన దేమనగాహగ్గీతు కుమారుడైన అదోనీయా యేలుచున్న సంగతి నీకు వినబడలేదా? అయితే ఈ సంగతి మనయేలినవాడైన దావీదునకు తెలియకయే యున్నది.

11. Nathan spoke to Solomon's mother Bathsheba. He asked, 'Haven't you heard? Adonijah, the son of Haggith, has made himself king. And King David doesn't even know about it.

12. కాబట్టి నీ ప్రాణమును నీ కుమారుడైన సొలొమోను ప్రాణమును రక్షించుకొనుటకై నేను నీకొక ఆలోచన చెప్పెదను వినుము.

12. 'So let me tell you what to do to save your life. It will also save the life of your son Solomon.

13. నీవు రాజైన దావీదునొద్దకు పోయినా యేలినవాడా, రాజా, అవశ్యముగా నీ కుమారుడైన సొలొమోను నా వెనుక ఏలువాడై నా సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడగునని నీ సేవకురాలనైన నాకు నీవు ప్రమాణ పూర్వకముగా సెలవిచ్చితివే; అదోనీయా యేలుచుండుట యేమని అడుగవలెను.

13. Go in and see King David. Say to him, 'You are my king and master. You took an oath. You promised me, 'You can be sure that your son Solomon will be king after me. He will sit on my throne.' If that's really true, why has Adonijah become king?'

14. రాజుతో నీవు మాటలాడుచుండగా నేను నీవెనుక లోపలికి వచ్చి నీవు విన్నవించిన మాటలను రూఢిపరచుదునని చెప్పెను.

14. 'While you are still talking to the king, I'll come in. I'll tell him that what you have said is true.'

15. కాబట్టి బత్షెబ గదిలోనున్న రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చెను. రాజు బహు వృద్ధుడైనందున షూనేమీయురాలైన అబీషగు రాజును కనిపెట్టు చుండెను.

15. So Bathsheba went to see the old king in his room. Abishag, the Shunammite, was taking care of him there.

16. బత్షెబ వచ్చి రాజు ఎదుట సాగిలపడి నమస్కారము చేయగా రాజునీ కోరిక ఏమని అడిగి నందుకు ఆమె యీలాగు మనవి చేసెను

16. Bathsheba bowed low. She got down on her knees in front of the king. 'What do you want?' the king asked.

17. నా యేలిన వాడా, నీవు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాతోడని నీ సేవకు రాలనైన నాకు ప్రమాణము చేసి అవశ్యముగా నీ కుమారు డైన సొలొమోను నా వెనుక ఏలువాడై నా సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడగునని సెలవిచ్చితివే,

17. She said to him, 'My master, you took an oath in the name of the Lord your God. You promised me, 'Your son Solomon will be king after me. He will sit on my throne.'

18. ఇప్పుడైతే అదోనీయా యేలుచున్నాడు. ఈ సంగతి నా యేలినవాడవును రాజవునగు నీకు తెలియకయే యున్నది.

18. 'But now Adonijah has made himself king. And you don't even know about it.

19. అతడు ఎడ్లను క్రొవ్విన దూడలను గొఱ్ఱెలను బలిగా అర్పించి రాజ కుమారులనందరిని యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారును సైన్యాధి పతియైన యోవాబును పిలిపించెను గాని నీ సేవకుడైన సొలొమోనును పిలువలేదు.

19. He has sacrificed large numbers of cattle, fat calves and sheep. He has invited all of the king's sons. He has also invited the priest Abiathar and Joab, the commander of the army. But he hasn't invited your son Solomon.

20. నా యేలినవాడవైన రాజా, నా యేలినవాడవైన రాజవగు నీ తరువాత సింహాసనము మీద ఎవడు ఆసీనుడగునో అందునుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలీయు లందరును కనిపెట్టియున్నారు.

20. 'You are my king and master. All of the people of Israel are watching to see what you will do. They want to find out from you who will sit on the throne after you.

21. ఇదిగాక నా యేలినవాడ వైన రాజవగు నీవు నీ పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రపొందిన తరువాత నేనును నా కుమారుడైన సొలొమోనును అప రాధులముగా ఎంచబడుదుము.

21. If you don't do something, I and my son Solomon will be treated like people who have committed crimes. That will happen as soon as you join the members of your family who have already died.'

22. ఆమె రాజుతో మాట లాడుచున్నప్పుడు ప్రవక్తయగు నాతానును లోపలికిరాగాప్రవక్తయగు నాతాను వచ్చి యున్నాడని సేవకులు రాజునకు తెలియజేసిరి.

22. While she was still speaking with the king, the prophet Nathan arrived.

23. అతడు రాజు సన్నిధికి వచ్చి నమస్కారము చేసి సాష్టాంగపడి

23. The king was told, 'The prophet Nathan is here.' So Nathan went to the king. He bowed down with his face toward the ground.

24. నా యేలినవాడవైన రాజా, అదోనీయా నీ తరువాత ఏలువాడై నీ సింహాసనముమీద కూర్చుండునని నీవు సెలవిచ్చితివా?

24. Nathan said, 'You are my king and master. Have you announced that Adonijah will be king after you? Have you said he will sit on your throne?

25. Today he has gone down outside the city. He has sacrificed large numbers of cattle, fat calves and sheep. He has invited all of the king's sons. He has also invited the commanders of the army and the priest Abiathar. Even now they are eating and drinking with him. They are saying, 'May King Adonijah live a long time!'

26. అయితే నీ సేవకుడనైన నన్నును యాజకుడైన సాదోకును యెహో యాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాను నీ సేవకుడైన సొలొమోనును అతడు పిలిచినవాడు కాడు.

26. 'But he didn't invite me. He didn't invite the priest Zadok or Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada. He didn't invite your son Solomon either.

27. నా యేలినవాడ వును రాజవునగు నీ తరువాత నీ సింహాసనముమీద ఎవడు ఆసీనుడై యుండునో అది నీ సేవకుడనైన నాతో చెప్పక యుందువా? ఈ కార్యము నా యేలినవాడవును రాజవు నగు నీ సెలవు చొప్పున జరుగుచున్నదా? అని యడిగెను.

27. 'King David, have you allowed all of that to happen? Did you do it without letting us know about it? Why didn't you tell us who is going to sit on your throne after you?'

28. దావీదు బత్షెబను పిలువుమని సెలవియ్యగా ఆమె రాజు సన్నిధికి వచ్చి రాజు ఎదుట నిలువబడెను.

28. King David said, 'Tell Bathsheba to come in.' So she came and stood in front of the king.

29. అప్పుడు రాజు ప్రమాణ పూర్వకముగా చెప్పినదేమనగాసకలమైన ఉపద్రవములలోనుండి నన్ను విడిపించిన యెహోవా జీవముతోడు

29. Then the king took an oath and made a promise. He said, 'The Lord has saved me from all of my troubles. You can be sure that he lives.

30. అవశ్యముగా నీ కుమారుడైన సొలొమోను నా తరువాత ఏలువాడై నాకు ప్రతిగా నా సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడగునని ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా నామము తోడని నేను నీకు ప్రమాణము చేసినదానిని ఈ దినముననే నెరవేర్చుదునని చెప్పగా

30. And you can be just as sure that I will do today what I promised in the name of the Lord. He is the God of Israel. I promised you that your son Solomon would be king after me. He will sit on my throne in my place.'

31. బత్షెబ సాగిల పడి రాజునకు నమస్కారము చేసినా యేలినవాడైన రాజగు దావీదు సదాకాలము బ్రదుకును గాక అనెను.

31. Then Bathsheba bowed low with her face toward the ground. She got down on her knees in front of the king. She said, 'King David, you are my master. May you live forever!'

32. అప్పుడు రాజైన దావీదుయాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్త యైన నాతానును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనా యాను నాయొద్దకు పిలువుమని సెలవియ్యగా వారు రాజు సన్నిధికి వచ్చిరి.

32. King David said, 'Tell the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan to come in. Also tell Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, to come.' So they came to the king.

33. అంతట రాజుమీరు మీ యేలిన వాడనైన నా సేవకులను పిలుచుకొని పోయి నా కుమారు డైన సొలొమోనును నా కంచర గాడిదమీద ఎక్కించి గిహోనునకు తీసికొనిపోయి

33. He said to them, 'Take my officials with you. Put my son Solomon on my own mule. Take him down to the Gihon spring.

34. యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును అక్కడ ఇశ్రాయేలీయులమీద రాజుగా అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకము చేసిన తరువాత మీరు బాకానాదము చేసిరాజైన సొలొమోను చిరంజీవి యగునుగాక అని ప్రకటన చేయవలెను.

34. Have the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan anoint him as king over Israel there. Blow a trumpet. Shout, 'May King Solomon live a long time!'

35. ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమీదను యూదావారిమీదను నేనతనిని అధికారిగా నియమించి యున్నాను గనుక పిమ్మట మీరు యెరూష లేమునకు అతని వెంటరాగా అతడు నా సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడై నాకు ప్రతిగా రాజగును అని సెలవిచ్చెను.

35. Then come back up to the city with him. Have him sit on my throne. He will rule in my place. I've appointed him ruler over Israel and Judah.'

36. అందుకు యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయా రాజు నకు ప్రత్యుత్తరముగా ఇట్లనెనుఆలాగు జరుగును గాక, నా యేలినవాడవును రాజవునగు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఆ మాటను స్థిరపరచును గాక.

36. Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, answered the king. 'Amen!' he said. 'May the Lord your God make it come true.

37. యెహోవా నా యేలిన వాడవును రాజవునగు నీకు తోడుగా నుండినట్లు ఆయన సొలొమోనునకు తోడుగానుండి, నా యేలినవాడైన రాజగు దావీదుయొక్క రాజ్యముకంటె అతని రాజ్యము ఘనముగా చేయునుగాక అనెను;

37. You are my king and master. The Lord has been with you. May he also be with Solomon. King David, may the Lord make Solomon's kingdom even greater than yours!'

38. కాబట్టి యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాయును కెరేతీయులును పెలేతీయు లును రాజైన దావీదు కంచరగాడిదమీద సొలొమోనును ఎక్కించి గిహోనునకు తీసికొని రాగా

38. So the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan left the palace. Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, went with them. So did the Kerethites and Pelethites. They put Solomon on King David's mule. And they brought him down to the Gihon spring.

39. యాజకుడైన సాదోకు గుడారములోనుండి తైలపు కొమ్మును తెచ్చి సొలొమోనునకు పట్టాభిషేకము చేసెను. అప్పుడు వారు బాకా ఊదగా కూడిన జనులందరునురాజైన సొలొమోను చిరంజీవియగునుగాక అని కేకలువేసిరి

39. The priest Zadok had gotten an animal horn that was filled with olive oil. He had taken it from the sacred tent. He anointed Solomon with the oil. The trumpet was blown. All of the people shouted, 'May King Solomon live a long time!'

40. మరియు ఆ జనులందరును అతని వెంబడివచ్చి పిల్లనగ్రోవులను ఊదుచు, వాటి నాదముచేత నేల బద్దలగునట్లు అత్యధిక ముగా సంతోషించిరి.

40. Then they went up toward the city. Solomon was leading the way. The people were playing flutes. They were filled with great joy. The ground shook because of all of the noise.

41. అదోనీయాయును అతడు పిలిచిన వారందరును విందులో ఉండగా విందు ముగియబోవు సమయమున ఆ చప్పుడు వారికి వినబడెను. యోవాబు బాకానాదము వినిపట్టణమునందు ఈ అల్లరి యేమని యడుగగా

41. Adonijah and all of his guests heard it. They were just finishing their meal. Joab heard the sound of the trumpet. So he asked, 'What does all of that noise in the city mean?'

42. యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారు కుమారుడైన యోనాతాను వచ్చెను. అదోనీయాలోపలికి రమ్ము, నీవు ధైర్యవంతుడవు, నీవు శుభ సమాచారములతో వచ్చుచున్నావనగా

42. While Joab was still speaking, Jonathan arrived. Jonathan was the son of the priest Abiathar. Adonijah said, 'Come in. I have respect for you. You must be bringing good news.'

43. యోనాతాను అదోనీయాతో ఇట్లనెనునిజముగా మన యేలినవాడును రాజునగు దావీదు సొలొమోనును రాజుగా నియమించియున్నాడు.

43. 'No! I'm not!' Jonathan answered. 'Our master King David has made Solomon king.

44. రాజు యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనా యానును కెరేతీయులను పెలేతీయులను అతనితోకూడ పంపగా వారు రాజు కంచరగాడిదమీద అతని నూరే గించిరి;

44. David sent the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan along with Solomon. He also sent Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada, with him. He sent the Kerethites and Pelethites with him too. They put him on the king's mule.

45. యాజకుడైన సాదోకును ప్రవక్తయైన నాతానును గిహోను దగ్గర అతనికి పట్టాభిషేకము చేసిరి; అక్కడ నుండి వారు సంతోషముగా వచ్చియున్నారు; అందువలన పట్టణము అల్లరి ఆయెను; మీకు వినబడిన ధ్వని యిదే.

45. They took him down to the Gihon spring. There the priest Zadok and the prophet Nathan anointed him as king. Now they've gone back up to the city. They were cheering all the way. The city is filled with the sound of it. That's the noise you hear.

46. మరియు సొలొమోను రాజ్యాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడై యున్నాడు;

46. 'And that's not all. Solomon has taken his seat on the royal throne.

47. అందుకై రాజు సేవకులు మన యేలినవాడును రాజునగు దావీదునకు కృతజ్ఞతలు చెల్లింప వచ్చి, నీకు కలిగిన ఖ్యాతి కంటె సొలొమోనునకు ఎక్కువైన ఖ్యాతి కలుగునట్లును, నీ రాజ్యముకంటె అతని రాజ్యము ఘనముగా ఉండునట్లును దేవుడు దయచేయును గాక అని చెప్పగా రాజు మంచముమీద సాగిలపడి నమ స్కారము చేసి యిట్లనెను

47. The royal officials came to give their blessing to our master King David. They said, 'May your God make Solomon's name more famous than yours! May he make Solomon's kingdom greater than yours!' 'While King David was sitting on his bed, he bowed in worship.

48. నేను సజీవినై యుండగా ఈ దినమున జరిగినట్లు నా సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడగుటకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఒకని నాకు దయచేసినందుకు ఆయనకు స్తోత్రము కలుగునుగాక అనెను.

48. He said, 'I praise the Lord. He is the God of Israel. He has let me live to see my son sitting on my throne today as the next king.' '

49. అందుకు అదోనీయా పిలిచిన వారు భయపడి లేచి తమ తమ యిండ్లకు వెళ్లిపోయిరి.

49. When all of Adonijah's guests heard that, they were terrified. So they got up and scattered.

50. అదోనీయా సొలొమోనునకు భయపడి లేచి బయలుదేరి బలిపీఠపు కొమ్ములను పట్టుకొనెను.

50. Adonijah was afraid of what Solomon might do to him. So he went and grabbed hold of the horns that stuck out from the upper corners of the altar for burnt offerings.

51. అదోనీయా రాజైన సొలొ మోనునకు భయపడి బలిపీఠపు కొమ్ములను పట్టుకొనిరాజైన సొలొమోను తన సేవకుడనైన నన్ను కత్తిచేత చంపకుండ ఈ దినమున నాకు ప్రమాణము చేయవలెనని మనవి చేయుచున్నట్లు సొలొమోనునకు సమాచారము రాగా

51. Then Solomon was told, 'King Solomon, Adonijah is afraid of you. He's holding onto the horns of the altar. He says, 'I want King Solomon to take an oath today. I want him to promise that he won't kill me with his sword.' '

52. సొలొమోను ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను అతడు తన్ను యోగ్యునిగా అగుపరచుకొనిన యెడల అతని తల వెండ్రుకలలో ఒకటైనను క్రిందపడదు గాని అతనియందు దౌష్ట్యము కనబడిన యెడల అతనికి మరణశిక్ష వచ్చునని సెలవిచ్చి

52. Solomon replied, 'Let him show that he's a man people can respect. Then not even one hair on his head will fall to the ground. But if I find out he's done something evil, he will die.'

53. బలిపీఠమునొద్దనుండి అతని పిలువనంపించెను; అతడు వచ్చి రాజైన సొలొమోను ఎదుట సాష్టాంగపడగా సొలొమోను అతనితోనీ యింటికి పొమ్మని సెలవిచ్చెను.

53. King Solomon got some men to bring Adonijah down from the altar. He came and bowed down to King Solomon. Solomon said, 'Go on home.'
