1. మోయాబీయులు ఎదోమీయులు అమ్మోనీయులు సీదోనీయులు హిత్తీయులు అను జనులు మీ హృదయ ములను తమ దేవతలతట్టు త్రిప్పుదురు గనుక వారితో సహవాసము చేయకూడదనియు, వారిని మీతో సహవాసము చేయనియ్యకూడదనియు యెహోవా ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులకు సెలవిచ్చియున్నాడు. అయితే రాజైన సొలొమోను ఫరో కుమార్తెనుగాక ఆ జనులలో ఇంక అనేక మంది పరస్త్రీలను మోహించి

1. King Solomon loved many women who were not from Israel. He loved the daughter of the king of Egypt, as well as women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites.

2. కామాతురత గలవాడై వారిని ఉంచుకొనుచు వచ్చెను.

2. The Lord had told the Israelites, 'You must not marry people of other nations. If you do, they will cause you to follow their gods.' But Solomon fell in love with these women.

3. అతనికి ఏడు వందలమంది రాజకుమార్తెలైన భార్యలును మూడువందల మంది ఉప పత్నులును కలిగియుండిరి; అతని భార్యలు అతని హృదయ మును త్రిప్పివేసిరి.

3. He had seven hundred wives who were from royal families and three hundred slave women who gave birth to his children. His wives caused him to turn away from God.

4. సొలొమోను వృద్ధుడైనప్పుడు అతని భార్యలు అతని హృదయమును ఇతర దేవతలతట్టు త్రిప్పగా అతని తండ్రియైన దావీదు హృదయమువలె అతని హృదయము దేవుడైన యెహోవాయెడల యథార్థము కాక పోయెను.

4. As Solomon grew old, his wives caused him to follow other gods. He did not follow the Lord completely as his father David had done.

5. సొలొమోను అష్తారోతు అను సీదోనీయుల దేవతను మిల్కోము అను అమ్మోనీయుల హేయమైన దేవతను అనుసరించి నడిచెను.

5. Solomon worshiped Ashtoreth, the goddess of the people of Sidon, and Molech, the hated god of the Ammonites.

6. ఈ ప్రకారము సొలొమోను యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడు నడత నడచి తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు అనుసరించినట్లు యథార్థహృదయముతో యెహోవాను అనుసరింపలేదు.

6. So Solomon did what the Lord said was wrong and did not follow the Lord completely as his father David had done.

7. సొలొమోను కెమోషు అను మోయాబీయుల హేయమైన దేవతకును మొలెకు అను అమ్మోనీయుల హేయమైన దేవతకును యెరూష లేము ఎదుటనున్న కొండమీద బలిపీఠములను కట్టించెను.

7. On a hill east of Jerusalem, Solomon built two places for worship. One was a place to worship Chemosh, the hated god of the Moabites, and the other was a place to worship Molech, the hated god of the Ammonites.

8. తమ దేవతలకు ధూపము వేయుచు బలుల నర్పించుచుండిన పరస్త్రీలైన తన భార్యల నిమిత్తము అతడు ఈలాగు చేసెను.

8. Solomon did the same thing for all his foreign wives so they could burn incense and offer sacrifices to their gods.

9. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా అతనికి రెండు మారులు ప్రత్యక్షమై

9. The Lord had appeared to Solomon twice, but the king turned away from following the Lord, the God of Israel. The Lord was angry with Solomon,

10. నీవు ఇతర దేవతలను వెంబడింప వలదని అతనికి ఆజ్ఞాపించినను సొలొమోను హృదయము ఆయన యొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోయెను. యెహోవా తన కిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞను అతడు గైకొనకపోగా యెహోవా అతని మీద కోపగించి

10. because he had commanded Solomon not to follow other gods. But Solomon did not obey the Lord's command.

11. సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగానేను నీతో చేసిన నా నిబంధనను కట్టడలను నీవు ఆచరింపక పోవుట నేను కనుగొనుచున్నాను గనుక యీ రాజ్యము నీకుండ కుండ నిశ్చయముగా తీసివేసి నీ దాసునికిచ్చెదను.

11. So the Lord said to Solomon, 'Because you have chosen to break your agreement with me and have not obeyed my commands, I will tear your kingdom away from you and give it to one of your officers.

12. అయి నను నీ తండ్రియైన దావీదు నిమిత్తము నీ దినములయందునేను ఆలాగున చేయక నీ కుమారుని చేతిలోనుండి దాని తీసివేసెదను.

12. But I will not take it away while you are alive because of my love for your father David. I will tear it away from your son when he becomes king.

13. రాజ్యమంతయు తీసివేయను; నా దాసుడైన దావీదు నిమిత్తమును నేను కోరుకొనిన యెరూషలేము నిమిత్తమును ఒక గోత్రము నీ కుమారునికిచ్చెదను.

13. I will not tear away all the kingdom from him, but I will leave him one tribe to rule. I will do this because of David, my servant, and because of Jerusalem, the city I have chosen.'

14. యెహోవా ఎదోమీయుడైన హదదు అను ఒకని సొలొమోనునకు విరోధిగా రేపెను; అతడు ఎదోము దేశపు రాజవంశస్థుడు.

14. The Lord caused Hadad the Edomite, a member of the family of the king of Edom, to become Solomon's enemy.

15. దావీదు ఎదోము దేశముమీద యుద్ధము చేయుచుండగా, సైన్యాధిపతియైన యోవాబు చంపబడిన వారిని పాతిపెట్టుటకు వెళ్లి యున్నప్పుడు ఎదోము దేశమందున్న మగవారినందరిని హతము చేసెను.

15. Earlier, David had defeated Edom. When Joab, the commander of David's army, went into Edom to bury the dead, he killed all the males.

16. ఎదోములో నున్న మగవారినందరిని హతము చేయువరకు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరితో కూడ యోవాబు ఆరు నెలలు అచ్చట నిలిచెను.

16. Joab and all the Israelites stayed in Edom for six months and killed every male in Edom.

17. అంతట హదదును అతనితోకూడ అతని తండ్రి సేవకులలో కొందరు ఎదోమీయులును ఐగుప్తు దేశములోనికి పారిపోయిరి; హదదు అప్పుడు చిన్న వాడై యుండెను.

17. At that time Hadad was only a young boy, so he ran away to Egypt with some of his father's officers.

18. వారు మిద్యాను దేశములోనుండి బయలుదేరి పారాను దేశమునకు వచ్చి, పారాను దేశమునుండి కొందరిని తోడుకొని ఐగుప్తులోనికి ఐగుప్తురాజగు ఫరోనొద్దకు రాగా, ఈ రాజు అతనికి ఇల్లును భూమియు ఇచ్చి ఆహారము నిర్ణయించెను.

18. They left Midian and went to Paran, where they were joined by other men. Then they all went to Egypt to see the king, who gave Hadad a house, some food, and some land.

19. హదదు ఫరో దృష్టికి బహు దయపొందగా తాను పెండ్లిచేసికొనిన రాణియైన తహ్పెనేసు సహోదరిని అతనికి ఇచ్చి పెండ్లిచేసెను.

19. The king liked Hadad so much he gave Hadad a wife -- the sister of Tahpenes, the king's wife.

20. ఈ తహ్పెనేసుయొక్క సహోదరి అతనికి గెనుబతు అను కుమారుని కనెను; ఫరోయింట తహ్పెనేసు వీనికి పాలు విడిపించెను గనుక గెనుబతు ఫరో కుటుంబికులలో నివసించి ఫరో కుమారులలో ఒకడుగా ఎంచబడెను.

20. They had a son named Genubath. Queen Tahpenes brought him up in the royal palace with the king's own children.

21. అంతట దావీదు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రపొందిన సంగతిని, సైన్యాధిపతియైన యోవాబు మరణమైన సంగతిని ఐగుప్తు దేశమందు హదదు వినినేను నా స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్లుటకు సెలవిమ్మని ఫరోతో మనవిచేయగా

21. While he was in Egypt, Hadad heard that David had died and that Joab, the commander of the army, was dead also. So Hadad said to the king, 'Let me go; I will return to my own country.'

22. ఫరోనీవు నీ స్వదేశమునకు వెళ్ల కోరుటకు నాయొద్ద నీకేమి తక్కువైనది అని యడిగెను. అందుకు హదదుతక్కువైన దేదియు లేదు గాని యేలాగుననైనను నన్ను వెళ్లనిమ్మనెను.

22. Why do you want to go back to your own country?' the king asked. 'What haven't I given you here?' 'Nothing,' Hadad answered, 'but please, let me go.'

23. మరియు దేవుడు అతనిమీదికి ఎల్యాదా కుమారుడైన రెజోను అను ఇంకొక విరోధిని రేపెను. వీడు సోబా రాజైన హదదెజరు అను తన యజమానుని యొద్దనుండి పారిపోయినవాడు.

23. God also caused another man to be Solomon's enemy -- Rezon son of Eliada. Rezon had run away from his master, Hadadezer king of Zobah.

24. దావీదు సోబావారిని హతము చేసి నప్పుడు ఇతడు కొందరిని సమకూర్చి, కూడిన యొక సైన్య మునకు అధిపతియై దమస్కునకు వచ్చి అచ్చట నివాసము చేసి దమస్కులో రాజాయెను.

24. After David defeated the army of Zobah, Rezon gathered some men and became the leader of a small army. They went to Damascus and settled there, and Rezon became king of Damascus.

25. హదదు చేసిన యీ కీడు గాక సొలొమోను బ్రదికిన దినములన్నియు ఇతడు అరాముదేశమందు ఏలినవాడై ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు విరో ధియైయుండి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులయందు అసహ్యతగలవాడై యుండెను.

25. Rezon ruled Aram, and he hated Israel. So he was an enemy of Israel all the time Solomon was alive. Both Rezon and Hadad made trouble for Israel.

26. మరియు సొలొమోను సేవకుడైన యరొబాము సహా రాజుమీదికి లేచెను. ఇతడు జెరేదా సంబంధమైన ఎఫ్రాయీమీయుడైన నెబాతు కుమారుడు, ఇతని తల్లిపేరు జెరూహా, ఆమె విధవరాలు.

26. Jeroboam son of Nebat was one of Solomon's officers. He was an Ephraimite from the town of Zeredah, and he was the son of a widow named Zeruah. Jeroboam turned against the king.

27. ఇతడు రాజుమీదికి లేచుటకు హేతువేమనగా, సొలొమోను మిల్లో కట్టించి తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు పురమునకు కలిగిన బీటలు బాగు చేయుచుండెను.

27. This is the story of how Jeroboam turned against the king. Solomon was filling in the land and repairing the wall of Jerusalem, the city of David, his father.

28. అయితే యరొబాము అను ఇతడు మహా బలాఢ్యుడైయుండగా ¸యౌవనుడగు ఇతడు పనియందు శ్రద్ధగలవాడని సొలొమోను తెలిసికొని, యోసేపు సంతతివారు చేయవలసిన భారమైన పనిమీద అతనిని అధికారిగా నిర్ణయించెను.

28. Jeroboam was a capable man, and Solomon saw that this young man was a good worker. So Solomon put him over all the workers from the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh.

29. అంతట యరొబాము యెరూషలేములోనుండి బయలు వెడలిపోగా షిలోనీయు డును ప్రవక్తయునగు అహీయా అతనిని మార్గమందు కను గొనెను; అహీయా క్రొత్తవస్త్రము ధరించుకొని యుండెను, వారిద్దరు తప్ప పొలములో మరి యెవడును లేకపోయెను.

29. One day as Jeroboam was leaving Jerusalem, Ahijah, the prophet from Shiloh, who was wearing a new coat, met him on the road. The two men were alone out in the country.

30. అంతట అహీయా తాను ధరించుకొని యున్న క్రొత్త వస్త్రమును పట్టుకొని పండ్రెండు తునకలుగా చింపి యరొబాముతో ఇట్లనెనుఈ పది తునకలను నీవు తీసికొనుము;

30. Ahijah took his new coat and tore it into twelve pieces.

31. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగాజనులు నన్ను విడిచి పెట్టి అష్తారోతు అను సీదోనీయుల దేవతకును కెమోషు అను మోయాబీయుల దేవతకును మిల్కోము అను అమ్మో నీయుల దేవతకును మ్రొక్కి,

31. Then he said to Jeroboam, 'Take ten pieces of this coat for yourself. The Lord, the God of Israel, says: 'I will tear the kingdom away from Solomon and give you ten tribes.

32. సొలొమోను తండ్రియైన దావీదు చేసినట్లు నా దృష్టికి యోగ్యమైన దాని చేయకయు, నా కట్టడలను నా విధులను అనుసరింపకయు, నేను ఏర్పరచిన మార్గములలో నడవకయు నున్నారు గనుక సొలొమోను చేతిలోనుండి రాజ్యమును కొట్టివేసి పది గోత్రములను నీకిచ్చెదను.

32. But I will allow him to control one tribe. I will do this for the sake of my servant David and for Jerusalem, the city I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel.

33. అయితే నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు నిమిత్తమును, నేను యెరూషలేము పట్టణమును కోరుకొని నందునను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల గోత్ర ములలోనుండి వానికి ఒక గోత్రము ఉండనిత్తును.

33. I will do this because Solomon has stopped following me and has worshiped the Sidonian god Ashtoreth, the Moabite god Chemosh, and the Ammonite god Molech. Solomon has not obeyed me by doing what I said is right and obeying my laws and commands, as his father David did.

34. రాజ్యము వానిచేతిలోనుండి బొత్తిగా తీసివేయక నేను కోరుకొనిన నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు నా ఆజ్ఞలను అనుసరించి నా కట్టడలను ఆచ రించెను గనుక దావీదును జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొని అతని దినము లన్నియు అతనిని అధికారిగా ఉండనిత్తును.

34. 'But I will not take all the kingdom away from Solomon. I will let him rule all his life because of my servant David, whom I chose, who obeyed all my commands and laws.

35. అయితే అతని కుమారుని చేతిలోనుండి రాజ్యమును తీసివేసి అందులో నీకు పది గోత్రముల నిచ్చెదను;

35. But I will take the kingdom away from his son, and I will allow you to rule over the ten tribes.

36. నా నామమును అక్కడ ఉంచుటకు నేను కోరుకొనిన పట్టణమైన యెరూషలేములో నా యెదుట ఒక దీపము నా సేవకుడైన దావీదునకు ఎల్లప్పుడు నుండునట్లు అతని కుమారునికి ఒక గోత్రము ఇచ్చెదను.

36. I will allow Solomon's son to continue to rule over one tribe so that there will always be a descendant of David, my servant, in Jerusalem, the city where I chose to be worshiped.

37. నేను నిన్ను అంగీకరించి నందున నీ కోరిక యంతటి చొప్పున నీవు ఏలుబడి చేయుచు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీద రాజవై యుందువు.

37. But I will make you rule over everything you want. You will rule over all of Israel,

38. నేను నీకు ఆజ్ఞాపించినదంతయు నీవు విని, నా మార్గముల ననుసరించి నడచుచు, నా దృష్టికి అనుకూలమైనదానిని జరింగిచుచు నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు చేసినట్లు నా కట్టడలను నా ఆజ్ఞలను గైకొనినయెడల, నేను నీకు తోడుగా ఉండి దావీదు కుటుంబమును శాశ్వతముగా నేను స్థిరపరచి నట్లు నిన్నును స్థిరపరచి ఇశ్రాయేలువారిని నీకు అప్ప గించెదను.

38. and I will always be with you if you do what I say is right. You must obey all my commands. If you obey my laws and commands as David did, I will be with you. I will make your family a lasting family of kings, as I did for David, and give Israel to you.

39. వారు చేసిన క్రియలనుబట్టి నేను దావీదుసంతతివారిని బాధ పరచుదును గాని నిత్యము బాధింపను.

39. I will punish David's children because of this, but I will not punish them forever.''

40. జరిగినదానిని విని సొలొమోను యరొబామును చంపచూడగా యరొబాము లేచి ఐగుప్తుదేశమునకు పారిపోయి ఐగుప్తు రాజైన షీషకునొద్ద చేరి సొలొమోను మరణమగు వరకు ఐగుప్తులోనే యుండెను.

40. Solomon tried to kill Jeroboam, but he ran away to Egypt, to Shishak king of Egypt, where he stayed until Solomon died.

41. సొలొమోను చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు అతడు చేసినదంతటిని గూర్చియు, అతని జ్ఞానమును గూర్చియు, సొలొమోను కార్యములను గూర్చిన గ్రంథ మందు వ్రాయబడి యున్నది.

41. Everything else King Solomon did, and the wisdom he showed, is written in the book of the history of Solomon.

42. సొలొమోను యెరూష లేమునందు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులందరిని ఏలిన కాలము నలువది సంవత్సరములు.

42. Solomon ruled in Jerusalem over all Israel for forty years.

43. అంతట సొలొమోను తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి, తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు పురమందు సమాధిచేయబడెను; తరువాత అతని కుమారుడైన రెహబాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

43. Then he died and was buried in Jerusalem, the city of David, his father. And his son Rehoboam became king in his place.
