1. దావీదునకు మరణకాలము సమీపింపగా అతడు తన కుమారుడైన సొలొమోనునకు ఈలాగు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను

1. Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

2. లోకులందరు పోవలసిన మార్గమున నేను పోవుచున్నాను; కాబట్టి నీవు ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని నిబ్బరము గలిగి

2. I go the way of all the earth. Be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man;

3. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా అప్పగించినదానిని కాపాడి, ఆయన మార్గముల ననుసరించిన యెడల నీవు ఏ పని పూనుకొనినను ఎక్కడ తిరిగినను అన్నిటిలో వివేకముగా నడుచుకొందువు. మోషే ధర్మశాస్త్రములో వ్రాయబడియున్న దేవుని కట్టడలను ఆయన నియమించిన ధర్మమంతటిని ఆయన న్యాయ విధులను శాసనములను గైకొనుము;

3. and keep the charge of the LORD thy God to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, and His commandments, and His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest and whithersoever thou turnest thyself,

4. అప్పుడునీ పిల్లలు తమ ప్రవర్తన విషయములో జాగ్రత్తగా నుండి నాయెదుట తమ పూర్ణహృద యముతోను పూర్ణమనస్సుతోను సత్యము ననుసరించి నడుచుకొనిన యెడల ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల రాజ్య సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడగు ఒకడు నీకు ఉండక మానడని యెహోవా నన్ను గూర్చి ప్రమాణము చేసిన మాటను స్థిరపరచును.

4. that the LORD may continue His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, `If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee,' said He, `a man on the throne of Israel.'

5. అయితే సెరూయా కుమారుడైన యోవాబు నాకు చేసిన దానిని, ఇశ్రాయేలు సేనాధిపతులగు నేరు కుమారుడైన అబ్నేరు యెతెరు కుమారుడైన అమాశాయను వారిద్దరికి అతడు చేసినదానిని నీ వెరుగుదువు; అతడు వారిని చంపి యుద్ధసమయమందైనట్లుగా సమాధానకాలమందు రక్తము చిందించి దానిని తన నడికట్టుమీదను తన పాదరక్షల మీదను పడజేసెను.

5. Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins and in his shoes that were on his feet.

6. నీకు తోచినట్లు అతనికి చేయవచ్చును గాని అతని నెరసిన తలవెండ్రుకలను సమాధికి నెమ్మదిగా దిగనియ్యవద్దు.

6. Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoary head go down to the grave in peace.

7. నేను నీ సహోదరుడైన అబ్షా లోము ముందరనుండి పారిపోగా, గిలాదీయుడైన బర్జిల్లయి కుమారులు నా సహాయమునకు వచ్చిరి, నీవు వారిమీద దయయుంచి నీ బల్లయొద్ద భోజనము చేయువారిలో వారిని చేర్చుము.

7. But show kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be among those who eat at thy table; for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom thy brother.

8. మరియు బెన్యామీనీయుడైన గెరా కుమారుడును బహూరీము ఊరి వాడునైన షిమీ నీయొద్ద నున్నాడు; నేను మహనయీమునకు వెళ్లుచుండగా అతడు నన్ను శపించెను. నన్ను ఎదుర్కొనుటకై అతడు యొర్దాను నదియొద్దకు దిగి రాగాయెహోవాతోడు కత్తి చేత నేను నిన్ను చంపనని ప్రమాణము చేసితిని.

8. And behold, thou hast with thee Shimei the son of Gera, a Benjamite of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by the LORD, saying, `I will not put thee to death with the sword.'

9. వానిని నిర్దోషిగా ఎంచవద్దు; నీవు సుబుద్ధిగలవాడవు గనుక వాని నేమి చేయవలెనో అది నీకు తెలియును; వాని నెరసిన తలవెండ్రుకలు రక్తముతో సమాధికి దిగజేయుము.

9. Now therefore hold him not guiltless, for thou art a wise man and knowest what thou oughtest to do unto him; but his hoary head bring thou down to the grave with blood.'

10. తరు వాత దావీదు తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రపొంది, దావీదు పట్టణమందు సమాధిలో పెట్టబడెను.

10. So David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David.

11. దావీదు ఇశ్రా యేలీయులను ఏలిన కాలము నలువది సంవత్సరములు, హెబ్రోనులో అతడు ఏడు సంవత్సరములును యెరూష లేములో ముప్పది మూడు సంవత్సరములును ఏలెను.

11. And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

12. అప్పుడు సొలొమోను తన తండ్రియైన దావీదు సింహా సనముమీద ఆసీనుడాయెను. అతని రాజ్యము నిలుకడగా స్థిరపరచబడెను.

12. Then sat Solomon upon the throne of David his father, and his kingdom was established greatly.

13. అంతలో హగ్గీతు కుమారుడైన అదో నీయా సొలొమోను తల్లియగు బత్షెబయొద్దకు రాగా ఆమె సమాధానముగా వచ్చుచున్నావా అని అతని నడిగెను. అతడు సమాధానముగానే వచ్చుచున్నానని చెప్పి

13. And Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. And she said, 'Comest thou peaceably?' And he said, 'Peaceably.'

14. నీతో చెప్పవలసిన మాటయొకటి యున్నదనెను. ఆమె అది చెప్పుమనగా

14. He said moreover, 'I have something to say unto thee.' And she said, 'Say on.'

15. And he said, 'Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign. However the kingdom is turned about and has become my brother's, for it was his from the LORD.

16. ఇప్పుడు నేను నీతో ఒక మనవి చేసికొనుచున్నాను, కాదనకుము.

16. And now I ask one petition of thee; deny me not.' And she said unto him, 'Say on.'

17. ఆమెచెప్పుమనగా అతడురాజగు సొలొమోను షూనే మీయురాలైన అబీషగును నాకు పెండ్లికిచ్చునట్లు దయచేసి అతనితో నీవు చెప్పవలెను, అతడు నీతో కాదనిచెప్ప డనెను.

17. And he said, 'Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king (for he will not say `nay' to thee), that he give me Abishag the Shunammite for a wife.'

18. బత్షెబమంచిది, నిన్ను గూర్చి రాజుతో చెప్పెద ననెను.

18. And Bathsheba said, 'Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.'

19. బత్షెబ రాజైన సొలొమోనునొద్దకు అదోనీయా పక్షమున చెప్పుటకు వచ్చినప్పుడు, రాజులేచి ఆమెకు ఎదురుగా వచ్చి ఆమెకు నమస్కారము చేసి సింహాసనము మీద ఆసీనుడై తన తల్లికొరకు ఆసనము ఒకటి వేయింపగా, ఆమె అతని కుడిపార్శ్వమున కూర్చుండెను.

19. Bathsheba therefore went unto King Solomon to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her and bowed himself unto her, and sat down on his throne and caused a seat to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.

20. ఒక చిన్న మనవిచేయ గోరుచున్నాను; నా మాట త్రోసి వేయకుమని ఆమె చెప్పగా రాజునా తల్లీ చెప్పుము, నీ మాట త్రోసివేయననగా

20. Then she said, 'I desire one small petition of thee; I pray thee, say not `nay' to me.' And the king said unto her, 'Ask on, my mother, for I will not say to thee `nay.''

21. ఆమెషూనేమీయురాలైన అబీషగును నీ సహోదరుడైన అదోనీయాకు పెండ్లి కిప్పింప వలెననెను.

21. And she said, 'Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother for a wife.'

22. అందుకు రాజైన సొలొమోనుషూనే మీయురాలైన అబీషగును మాత్రమే అదోనీయాకొరకు అడుగుట యేల? అతడు నా అన్న కాబట్టి అతనికొరకును, యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారుకొరకును, సెరూయా కుమారు డైన యోవాబుకొరకును రాజ్యమును అడుగుమని తన తల్లితో చెప్పెను.

22. And King Solomon answered and said unto his mother, 'And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also, for he is mine elder brother -- even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.'

23. మరియు రాజైన సొలొమోనుయెహోవా తోడు అదోనీయా పలికిన యీ మాటవలన అతని ప్రాణమునకు నష్టము రాకపోయినయెడల దేవుడు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయును గాక.

23. Then King Solomon swore by the LORD, saying, 'God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

24. నన్ను స్థిరపరచి, నా తండ్రి సింహాసనముమీద నన్ను ఆసీనునిగా చేసి, తన వాగ్దానము ప్రకారము నాకు కుటుంబము కలుగజేసిన యెహోవా జీవముతోడు, అదోనీయా యీ దినమున మరణమవునని చెప్పి

24. Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, who hath established me and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me a house, as He promised, Adonijah shall be put to death this day.'

25. యెహోయాదా కుమారు డైన బెనాయాను పంపగా ఇతడు అదోనీయా మీద పడినందున అతడు చనిపోయెను.

25. And King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him so that he died.

26. తరువాత రాజు యాజకుడైన అబ్యాతారునకు సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగా అనా తోతులో నీకు కలిగిన పొలములకు వెళ్లుము; నీవు మరణ మునకు పాత్రుడవైతివి గాని నీవు నా తండ్రియైన దావీదు ముందర దేవుడైన యెహోవా మందసమును మోసి, నా తండ్రికి ప్రాప్తించిన శ్రమలన్నిటిలో శ్రమ పొందితివి గనుక ఈవేళ మరణశిక్ష నీకు విధింపను.

26. And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, 'Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields, for thou art worthy of death; but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou didst bear the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.'

27. తరువాత సొలొమోను అబ్యాతారును యెహోవాకు యాజకుడుగా ఉండకుండ తీసివేసెను, అందువలన యెహోవా ఏలీ కుటుంబికులను గూర్చి షిలోహులో ప్రమాణముచేసిన మాట నెరవేరెను.

27. So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD, that he might fulfill the word of the LORD which He spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

28. యోవాబు అబ్షా లోము పక్షము అవలంబింపక పోయినను అదోనీయాపక్షము అవలంబించి యుండెను గనుక ఈ వర్తమానములు అతనికి రాగా అతడు పారిపోయి యెహోవా గుడారమునకు వచ్చి బలిపీఠపు కొమ్ములను పట్టుకొనెను.

28. Then tidings came to Joab; for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

29. యోవాబు పారిపోయి యెహోవా గుడారమునకు వచ్చి బలిపీఠమునొద్ద నున్నాడను సంగతి రాజగు సొలొమోనునకు వినబడగా సొలొమోను యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాను పిలిపించినీవు వెళ్లి వానిమీద పడుమని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చినందున

29. And it was told King Solomon that Joab had fled unto the tabernacle of the LORD; and behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying, 'Go, fall upon him.'

30. బెనాయా యెహోవా గుడారమునకు వచ్చిరాజు నిన్ను బయటికి రమ్మని సెలవిచ్చెనని యోవా బుతో చెప్పెను. అతడు అదికాదు, నేనిక్కడనే చచ్చెద ననగా, బెనాయా తిరిగి రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చి యోవాబు తనతో చెప్పిన మాట రాజునకు తెలియజేసెను.

30. And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the LORD, and said unto him, 'Thus saith the king, `Come forth!'' And he said, 'Nay, but I will die here.' And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, 'Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.'

31. అందుకు రాజు ఇట్లనెను అతడు నీతో చెప్పినట్లుగా చేయుము; అతడు ధారపోసిన నిరపరాధుల రక్తమును నామట్టుకును నా తండ్రి కుటుంబికులమట్టుకును పరిహారము చేయుటకై అతని చంపి పాతిపెట్టుము.

31. And the king said unto him, 'Do as he hath said, and fall upon him and bury him, that thou mayest take away the innocent blood which Joab shed from me and from the house of my father.

32. నేరు కుమారుడును ఇశ్రాయేలు వారి సమూహాధిపతియునైన అబ్నేరును, యెతెరు కుమారుడును యూదావారి సేనాధిపతియునైన అమాశాయును అను తన కంటె నీతిపరులును యోగ్యులు నగు ఈ ఇద్దరు మనుష్యులమీద పడి యోవాబు నా తండ్రియైన దావీదు ఎరుగకుండ కత్తిచేత వారిని చంపి వేసెను గనుక అతడు ధారపోసిన రక్తము యెహోవా అతని తలమీదికే రప్పించును.

32. And the LORD shall return his blood upon his own head, who fell upon two men more righteous and better than he and slew them with the sword -- to wit, Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah -- my father David not knowing thereof.

33. మరియు వీరు ప్రాణ దోషమునకు యోవాబును అతని సంతతివారును సదాకాలము ఉత్తరవాదులు గాని, దావీదునకును అతని సంతతి కిని అతని కుటుంబికులకును అతని సింహాసనమునకును సమాధానము యెహోవావలన ఎన్నటెన్నటికిని కలిగి యుండును.

33. Their blood shall therefore return upon the head of Joab and upon the head of his seed for ever; but upon David, and upon his seed, and upon his house, and upon his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.'

34. కాబట్టి యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయా వచ్చి అతనిమీద పడి అతని చంపగా అతడు అరణ్యమందుండు తన యింటిలో పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

34. So Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him and slew him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

35. రాజు అతనికి బదులుగా యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాను సేనాధిపతిగా నియమించెను. మరియు రాజు అబ్యాతారునకు బదులుగా యాజకుడైన సాదోకును నియ మించెను.

35. And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his place over the host, and Zadok the priest did the king put in the place of Abiathar.

36. తరువాత రాజు షిమీని పిలువనంపించి అతనికి ఈ మాట సెలవిచ్చెను. నీవు యెరూషలేములో ఇల్లు కట్టించుకొని బయట ఎక్కడికైనను వెళ్లక అందులో కాపురముండుము.

36. And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, 'Build thee a house in Jerusalem and dwell there, and go not forth from thence anywhere.

37. నీవు ఏ దినమున బయలుదేరి కిద్రోను ఏరు వాగు దాటుదువో ఆ దినమున నీవు చచ్చుట నిశ్చయమని రూఢిగా తెలిసికొనుము, నీ ప్రాణమునకు నీవే ఉత్తరవాదివనగా

37. For it shall be that on the day thou goest out and passest over the Brook Kidron, thou shalt know for certain that thou shalt surely die; thy blood shall be upon thine own head.'

38. షిమీతమరు సెలవిచ్చినది మంచిదేను; నా యేలినవారైన రాజగు తమరు చెప్పిన ప్రకారము తమ సేవకుడనైన నేను చేసెదనని రాజుతో చెప్పెను. షిమీ యెరూషలేములో అనేక దినములు నివాసము చేయుచుండెను.

38. And Shimei said unto the king, 'The saying is good. As my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do.' And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

39. అయితే మూడు సంవత్సరము లైన తరు వాత షిమీయొక్క పనివారిలో ఇద్దరు పారిపోయి మయకా కుమారుడైన ఆకీషు అను గాతు రాజు నొద్దకు చేరిరి. అంతటనీవారు గాతులో ఉన్నారనిషిమీకి వర్తమానము కాగా

39. And it came to pass, at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish son of Maachah, king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying, 'Behold, thy servants are in Gath.'

40. షిమీ లేచి గాడిదకు గంతకట్టి తన పనివారిని వెదకుటకై గాతులోని ఆకీషునొద్దకు పోయెను. ఈలాగున షిమీ పోయి గాతులోనుండి తన పని వారిని తీసికొనివచ్చెను.

40. And Shimei arose and saddled his ass, and went to Gath to Achish to seek his servants; and Shimei went and brought his servants from Gath.

41. షిమీ యెరూషలేములో నుండి గాతునకు పోయి వచ్చెనని సొలొమోనునకు వర్తమానము కాగా

41. And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and had come back.

42. రాజు షిమీని పిలువనంపించి అతనితో ఇట్లనెనునీవు ఏ దినమందు బయలుదేరి ఏ స్థలమునకైనను వెళ్లుదువో ఆ దినమున నీవు మరణమగుదువని నిశ్చయముగా తెలిసికొన వలెనని యెహోవా తోడని నేను నీకు ఖండితముగా ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి నీ చేత ప్రమాణము చేయించితిని గదా? మరియు తమరు సెలవిచ్చినదే మంచిదని నీవు ఒప్పుకొంటివి;

42. And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, 'Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, saying, `Know for certain, on the day thou goest out and walkest abroad anywhere, that thou shalt surely die'? And thou said unto me, `The word that I have heard is good.'

43. కాబట్టి యెహోవాతోడని నీవు చేసిన ప్రమాణమును మేము నీకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన ఆజ్ఞను నీవు గైకొనక పోతివేమి అని అడిగి

43. Why then hast thou not kept the oath of the LORD and the commandment that I have charged thee with?'

44. నీవు మా తండ్రియైన దావీదునకు చేసినట్టు నీ హృదయములో మెదులుచున్న కీడంతయు నీకు తెలి యును. నీవు చేసిన కీడు యెహోవా నీ తలమీదికే రప్పించును.

44. The king said moreover to Shimei, 'Thou knowest all the wickedness which thine heart is privy to, that thou did to David my father. Therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head;

45. అయితే రాజైన సొలొమోను ఆశీర్వాదము పొందును, దావీదు సింహా సనము యెహోవా సముఖమందు సదాకాలము స్థిరపరచబడునని షిమీతో చెప్పి

45. and King Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.'

46. రాజు యెహోయాదా కుమారుడైన బెనాయాకు సెలవియ్యగా అతడు బయలుదేరి వానిమీద పడి వాని చంపెను. ఈ ప్రకారము రాజ్యము సొలొమోను వశమున స్థిరపరచబడెను.

46. So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, who went out and fell upon him so that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
