1. అహాబు మరణమైన తరువాత మోయాబీయులు ఇశ్రాయేలువారిమీద తిరుగబడిరి.

1. Then Moab revolted against Israel, after the death of Ahab.

2. అహజ్యా షోమ్రో నులోనున్న తన మేడగది కిటికీలోనుండి క్రిందపడి రోగియైమీరు ఎక్రోను దేవతయగు బయల్జెబూబు నొద్దకు పోయిఈ వ్యాధి పోగొట్టుకొని నేను స్వస్థ పడుదునో లేదో విచారించుడని దూతలను పంపగా

2. And Ahaziah fell through the lattice in his upper chamber, which was in Samaria, and became sick, so he sent messengers, and said unto them Go enquire of Baalzebub, god of Ekron, whether I shall recover from this sickness.

3. యెహోవా దూత తిష్బీయుడైన ఏలీయాతో ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనునీవులేచి షోమ్రోనురాజు పంపిన దూతలను ఎదుర్కొనబోయి యిట్లనుముఇశ్రాయేలువారిలో దేవు డన్నవాడు లేడనుకొని ఎక్రోను దేవతయైన బయల్జె బూబునొద్ద మీరు విచారించబోవుచున్నారా?

3. But, the messenger of Yahweh, spake unto Elijah the Tishbite, Rise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them Is it, because there is no God in Israel, that, ye, are going to enquire of Baalzebub, god of Ekron?

4. కాగా యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగానీవెక్కిన మంచము మీదనుండి దిగిరాకుండ నీవు నిశ్చయముగా మరణమవు దువు అని ఏలీయా వారితో చెప్పి వెళ్లిపోయెను.

4. Wherefore, Thus, saith Yahweh, From the bed whereunto thou hast gone up, shalt thou not come down, for thou shalt, surely die. And Elijah departed.

5. తరు వాత ఆ దూతలు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చిరి. మీరెందుకు తిరిగి వచ్చితిరని అతడు వారి నడుగగా

5. And, when the messengers returned unto him, he said unto them How is it that ye have returned?

6. And they said unto him A man, came up to meet us, and said unto us Go, return unto the king who sent you, and ye shall say unto him, Thus, saith Yahweh Is it, because there is no God in Israel, that, thou, art sending to enquire of Baalzebub, god of Ekron? Therefore, from the bed whereunto thou hast gone up, shalt thou not come down, for thou shalt, surely die.

7. మిమ్మును ఎదుర్కొనవచ్చి యీ మాట చెప్పినవాడు ఏలాటివాడని రాజు అడిగెను.

7. And he said unto them, What was the manner of the man who came up to meet you, and spake unto you these words?

8. అందుకు వారు అతడు గొంగళి ధరించుకొని నడుమునకు తోలుదట్టి కట్టుకొనినవాడని ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యగాఆ మనుష్యుడు తిష్బీయుడైన ఏలీయా అని అతడు చెప్పెను.

8. And they said unto him A hairy man, with a leathern girdle girt about his loins. And he said Elijah the Tishbite, it was.

9. వెంటనే రాజు ఏబదిమందికి అధిపతియైన యొకనిని వాని యేబదిమందితో కూడ ఏలీయా యొద్దకు పంపెను. అతడు కొండమీద కూర్బుని యుండగా అధిపతి యెక్కి అతని సమీపమునకు పోయిదైవజనుడా, నీవు దిగిరావలెనని రాజు ఆజ్ఞాపించుచున్నాడనెను.

9. Then sent he unto him a captain of fifty, with his fifty, and he went up unto him, and lo! he abode on the top of the mountain, and he said unto him, O man of God! the king, hath said, Come down!

10. అందుకు ఏలీయానేను దైవజనుడనైతే అగ్ని ఆకాశమునుండి దిగివచ్చి నిన్ను నీ యేబదిమందిని దహించునుగాక అని యేబదిమందికి అధిపతియైన వానితో చెప్పగా, అగ్ని ఆకాశమునుండి దిగి వానిని వాని యేబదిమందిని దహించెను.

10. And Elijah responded and said unto the captain of fifty, If, then, a man of God, I am, let fire come down out of the heavens, and devour thee and thy fifty. So there came down fire out of the heavens, and devoured him and his fifty.

11. మరల రాజు ఏబది మందిమీద అధిపతియైన మరియొకనిని వాని యేబదిమందితోకూడ పంపగా వీడువచ్చిదైవజనుడా, త్వరగా దిగి రమ్మని రాజు ఆజ్ఞాపించుచున్నాడనెను.

11. Then he again sent unto him another captain of fifty, with his fifty. And he also spake and said unto him, O man of God! thus, saith the king, Haste thee, come down!

12. అందుకు ఏలీయానేను దైవజనుడనైతే అగ్ని ఆకాశము నుండి దిగివచ్చి నిన్ను నీ యేబదిమందిని దహించునుగాక అని చెప్పగా, ఆకాశమునుండి దేవుని అగ్ని దిగి వానిని వాని యేబదిమందిని దహించెను.

12. And Elijah responded and said unto them If, a man of God, I am, let fire come down out of the heavens, and devour thee and thy fifty. And there came down a fire of God, out of the heavens, and devoured him and his fifty.

13. ఇంకను రాజు ఏబది మందికి అధిపతియైన యొకనిని వాని ఏబదిమందితో కూడ పంపగా ఏబదిమంది మీద అధిపతియైన ఆ మూడవవాడు వచ్చి ఏలీయా యెదుట మోకాళ్లూనిదైవజనుడా, దయ చేసి నా ప్రాణమును నీదాసులైన యీ యేబదిమంది ప్రాణములను నీ దృష్టికి ప్రియమైనవిగా ఉండనిమ్ము.

13. Then he again sent a third captain of fifty, with his fifty, and the third captain of fifty ascended and came near, and bowed down upon his knees before Elijah, and made supplication unto him, and said unto him, O man of God! let my life, I pray thee, and the lives of these thy fifty servants, be precious in thine eyes.

14. చిత్తగించుము; ఆకాశమునుండి అగ్ని దిగి వెనుకటి పంచ దశాధిపతులను ఇద్దరిని వానివాని యేబది మందితో కూడ దహించెను; అయితే నా ప్రాణము నీ దృష్టికి ప్రియ మైనదిగా ఉండనిమ్మని మనవి చేయగా

14. Lo! there hath come down fire out of the heavens, and devoured the captains of the former fifties, with their fifties, now, therefore, let my life be precious in thine eyes.

15. యెహోవా దూతవానికి భయపడక వానితోకూడ దిగిపొమ్మని ఏలీ యాకు సెలవిచ్చెను గనుక అతడు లేచి వానితోకూడ రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

15. And the messenger of Yahweh said unto Elijah, Go down with him, do not fear because of him, So he arose, and went down with him, unto the king;

16. అతడు వచ్చి రాజును చూచివిచారణచేయుటకు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిమధ్య దేవుడన్న వాడు లేడనుకొని నీవు ఎక్రోను దేవతయగు బయల్జెబూబునొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకై దూతలను పంపితివే; నీవెక్కిన మంచముమీదనుండి దిగి రాకుండ నిశ్చయముగా నీవు మరణమవుదువు అని చెప్పెను.

16. and said unto him Thus, saith Yahweh For that thou didst send messengers to enquire of Baalzebub, god of Ekron, was it because there was no God in Israel, for whose word thou couldst enquire? Therefore, from the bed whereunto thou hast gone up, shalt thou not come down, for thou shalt, surely die.

17. ఏలీయా ద్వారా యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాటప్రకారము అతడు చనిపోయెను. అతనికి కుమారుడు లేనందున యూదా రాజైన యెహోషాపాతు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము ఏలుబడిలో రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహోరాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

17. And he died, according to the word of Yahweh which, Elijah, had spoken, and Jehoram reigned in his stead, in the second year of Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, because he had no son.

18. అహజ్యా చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చి ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

18. Now, the rest of the story of Ahaziah, the things that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
