1. యోషీయా యేలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఎనిమిదేండ్ల వాడై యెరూషలేమునందు ముప్పదియొక సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను, అతని తల్లి బొస్కతు ఊరి వాడగు అదాయాకు కుమార్తెయైన యెదీదా.

3. రాజైన యోషీయా యేలుబడిలో పదునెనిమిదవ సంవత్సరమందు, మెషుల్లామునకు పుట్టిన అజల్యా కుమారు డును శాస్త్రియునైన షాఫానును యెహోవా మందిరమునకు పొమ్మని చెప్పి రాజు అతనితో ఈలాగు సెల విచ్చెను.

4. నీవు ప్రధాన యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా యొద్దకు పోయి, ద్వారపాలకులు జనుల యొద్ద వసూలు చేసి యెహోవా మందిరములో ఉంచిన రొక్కపు మొత్తము చూడుమని అతనితో చెప్పుము.

4. and seide to him, Go thou to Elchie, the grete preest, that the money, which is borun in to the temple of the Lord, be spendid, which money the porteris of the temple han gaderid of the puple;

5. యెహోవా మందిరపు పనికి అధికారులై పని జరిగించువారిచేతికి ఆ ద్రవ్యమును అప్పగించిన తరువాతయెహోవా మందిర మందలి శిథిలమైన స్థలములను బాగుచేయుటకై యెహోవా మందిరపు పనిచేయు కూలివారికి వారు దాని నియ్యవలెననియు

5. and that it be youun to crafti men bi the souereyns of the hows of the Lord; which also departide that money to hem that worchen in the temple of the Lord, to reparele the rooues of the temple of the Lord,

6. వడ్లవారికిని శిల్పకారులకును కాసెపని వారికిని మందిరమును బాగుచేయుటకై మ్రానులనేమి చెక్కిన రాళ్లనేమి కొనుటకును ఇయ్యవలెననియు తెలియ జెప్పుము.

6. that is, to carpenteris, and to masouns, and to hem that maken brokun thingis, and that trees and stoonus of quarieris be bouyt, to reparele the temple of the Lord;

7. ఆ అధికారులు నమ్మకస్థులని వారి చేతికి అప్ప గించిన ద్రవ్యమునుగూర్చి వారియొద్ద లెక్క పుచ్చుకొన కుండిరి.

8. అంతట ప్రధానయాజకుడైన హిల్కీయాయెహోవా మందిరమందు ధర్మశాస్త్రగ్రంథము నాకు దొరికెనని షాఫాను అను శాస్త్రితో చెప్పి ఆ గ్రంథ మును షాఫానునకు అప్పగించెను. అతడు దానిని చదివి

10. యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయా నాకు ఒక గ్రంథము అప్పగించెనని రాజుతో చెప్పి ఆగ్రంథమును రాజు సముఖమందు చదివెను.

10. Also Saphan, the scriueyn, telde to the kyng, and seide, Helchie, the preest of God, yaf to me a book; and whanne Saphan hadde red that book bifor the kyng,

11. రాజు ధర్మశాస్త్రము గల ఆ గ్రంథపుమాటలు వినినప్పుడు తన బట్టలు చింపుకొనెను.

11. and the kyng hadde herd the wordis of the book of the lawe of the Lord, he to-rente hise clothis.

12. తరువాత రాజు యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయాను, షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకామును, మీకాయా కుమారుడైన అక్బోరును, షాఫాను అను శాస్త్రిని, అశాయా అను రాజసేవకులలో ఒకనిని పిలిచి ఆజ్ఞాపించినదేమనగా

12. And he comaundide to Elchie, the preest, and to Aicham, sone of Saphan, and to Achabor, sone of Mycha, and to Saphan, the scryuen, and to Achia, seruaunt of the kyng,

13. మీరు పోయి దొరికిన యీ గ్రంథపు మాటలను గూర్చి నా విషయములోను జనుల విషయములోను యూదావారందరి విషయములోను యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయుడి; మన పితరులు తమ విషయములో వ్రాయబడియున్న దానంతటి ప్రకారము చేయక యీ గ్రంథపు మాటలను విననివారైరి గనుక యెహోవా కోపాగ్ని మనమీద ఇంత అధికముగా మండుచున్నది.

13. and seide, Go ye, and `counsele ye the Lord on me, and on the puple, and on al Juda, of the wordis of this book, which is foundun; for greet ire of the Lord is kyndlid ayens vs, for oure fadris herden not the wordis of this book, to do al thing which is writun to vs.

14. కాబట్టి యాజకుడైన హిల్కీయాయును, అహికామును, అక్బోరును, షాఫానును, అశాయా యును ప్రవక్త్రియగు హుల్దాయొద్దకు వచ్చిరి. ఈమె వస్త్ర శాలకు అధికారియగు హర్హషుకు పుట్టిన తిక్వాకు కుమారుడైన షల్లూమునకు భార్యయై యెరూషలేములో రెండవ భాగమందు కాపురస్థురాలై యుండెను. ఈమెయొద్దకు వారు వచ్చి మాటలాడగా

15. ఈమె వారితో ఇట్లనెనుమిమ్మును నాయొద్దకు పంపిన వానితో ఈ మాట తెలియ జెప్పుడి

15. And sche answeride to hem, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Seie ye to the man,

16. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాయూదా రాజు చదివించిన గ్రంథములో వ్రాయబడియున్న కీడంతటిని ఏదియు విడిచిపెట్టకుండ నేను ఈ స్థలముమీదికిని దాని కాపురస్థులమీదికిని రప్పింతును.

16. that sente you to me, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal brynge yuelis on this place, and on the dwelleris therof, alle the wordis `of the lawe, whiche the kyng of Juda redde;

17. ఈ జనులు నన్ను విడిచి యితరదేవతలకు ధూపము వేయుచు, తమ సకల కార్యములచేత నాకు కోపము పుట్టించి యున్నారు గనుక నా కోపము ఆరిపోకుండ ఈ స్థలముమీద రగులుకొను చున్నది.

17. for thei forsoken me, and maden sacrifice to alien goddis, and terriden me to ire in alle the werkis of her hondis; and myn indignacioun schal be kyndlid in this place, and schal not be quenchid.

18. యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణ చేయుటకై మిమ్మును పంపిన యూదారాజునకు ఈ మాట తెలియపరచుడి

18. Sotheli to the kyng of Juda, that sente you, that ye schulen `counsele the Lord, ye schulen seie thus, The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, For thou herdist the wordis of the book,

19. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగాఈ స్థలము పాడగుననియు, దాని కాపురస్థులు దూషణాస్పదులగుదురనియు, నేను చెప్పిన మాటలను నీవు ఆలకించి, మెత్తని మనస్సుకలిగి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని దీనత్వము ధరించి, నీ బట్టలు చింపుకొని నా సన్నిధిని కన్నీళ్లు రాల్చితివి గనుక నీవు చేయు మనవిని నేను అంగీ కరించియున్నాను.

19. and thin herte was aferd, and thou were maad meke bifor the Lord, whanne the wordis weren herd ayens this place and ayens the dwelleris therof, that is, that thei schulden be maad in to wondryng, and in to cursyng, and thou to-rentist thi clothis, and weptist bifor me, and Y herde, seith the Lord;

20. నేను నిన్ను నీ పితరులయొద్ద చేర్చు దును; నీవు నెమ్మది నొందినవాడవై సమాధికి చేర్చబడుదువు. నేను ఈ స్థలముమీదికి రప్పింపబోవు కీడును నీవు నీ కన్నులతో చూడనే చూడవు; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు. అంతట వారు ఈ వర్తమానమును రాజు నొద్దకు తెచ్చిరి.

20. herfor Y schal gadere thee to thi fadris, and thou schalt be gaderid to thi sepulcre in pees; that thin iyen se not alle the yuelis, whiche Y schal brynge yn on this place.
