1. దావీదు కీషు కుమారుడైన సౌలునకు భయపడియింకను దాగియుండగా సౌలు బంధువులగు బెన్యామీనీ యులలో పరాక్రమశాలులు కొందరు దావీదునకు యుద్ధ సహాయము చేయుటకై అతనియొద్దకు సిక్లగునకు వచ్చిరి.

1. Following are the men who joined David at Ziklag while he was still being kept away from Sha'ul the son of Kish; they were among the warriors who helped him fight his battles.

2. వీరు విలుకాండ్రయి కుడి యెడమ చేతులతో వడిసెలచేత రాళ్లు రువ్వుటకును వింటిచేత అంబులు విడుచుటకును సమర్థులైన వారు.

2. They were archers who could use either hand to sling stones or shoot arrows from a bow; they were Sha'ul's kinsmen from Binyamin.

15. యొర్దాను గట్టులమీదుగా పొర్లి పారుచుండు మొదటి నెలయందు దానిని దాటిపోయి తూర్పులోయలలోను పడమటిలోయలలోను ఉన్న వారినందరిని తరిమివేసినవారు వీరే.

15. These descendants of Gad were army commanders; the least of them was worth a hundred, and the greatest worth a thousand.

16. These are the men who crossed the Yarden during the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks, and drove out all those who lived in the valleys, both to the east and to the west.

17. దావీదు బయలుదేరి వారికి ఎదురుగా పోయి వారితో ఇట్లనెనుమీరు సమాధానము కలిగి నాకు సహాయముచేయుటకై నాయొద్దకు వచ్చియున్నయెడల నా హృదయము మీతో అతికియుండును; అట్లుగాక నా వలన మీకు అపకారమేదియు కలుగలేదని యెరిగి యుండియు, నన్ను నా శత్రువులచేతికి అప్పగింపవలెనని మీరు వచ్చియున్నయెడల మన పితరులయొక్క దేవుడు దీనిని చూచి మిమ్మును గద్దించును గాక.

17. From the descendants of Binyamin and Y'hudah a number came to David at the fortress.

18. అప్పుడు ముప్పదిమందికి అధిపతియైన అమాశై ఆత్మవశుడైదావీదూ, మేము నీవారము; యెష్షయి కుమారుడా, మేము నీ పక్షమున ఉన్నాము; నీకు సమాధానము కలుగునుగాక, సమా ధానము కలుగునుగాక, నీ సహకారులకును సమాధానము కలుగునుగాక, నీ దేవుడే నీకు సహాయము చేయునని పలు కగా దావీదు వారిని చేర్చుకొని వారిని తన దండునకు అధిపతులుగా చేసెను.

18. When David went out to meet them, he said, 'If you are coming to me in peace to help me, my heart will be bonded to yours. But if you are coming to betray me to my enemies, then, since I have done nothing wrong, may the God of our fathers see it and judge.'

19. సౌలుమీద యుద్ధముచేయబోయిన ఫిలిష్తీయులతో కూడ దావీదు వచ్చినప్పుడు మనష్షే సంబం ధులలో కొందరును అతని పక్షముచేరిరి; దావీదు ఫిలిష్తీ యులకు సహాయము చేయకపోయెను, ఏలయనగా అతడు తన యజమానుడైన సౌలు పక్షమునకు మరలి తమకు ప్రాణ హాని చేయునని యెంచి ఫిలిష్తీయుల అధికారులు అతని పంపివేసిరి.

19. Then the Spirit covered 'Amasai the chief commander, and he said: 'We are yours, David; on your side, son of Yishai! Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers; for your God helps you.' David welcomed them and made them senior officers.

20. From M'nasheh some defected to David when he was about to go with the P'lishtim to fight against Sha'ul; but they ended up not helping them; because the rulers of the P'lishtim, after consultation, sent David away, saying, 'He will defect to his master Sha'ul at the cost of our heads.'

21. వారందరును పరాక్రమ శాలులును సైన్యాధిపతులునై యుండిరి; ఆ దండును హతముచేయుటకు వారు దావీదునకు సహాయముచేసిరి.

21. As he was on his way to Ziklag, those who defected to him from M'nasheh included 'Adnach, Yozavad, Y'dia'el, Mikha'el, Yozavad, Elihu and Tziltai, commanders of thousands from M'nasheh.

22. దావీదు దండు దేవుని సైన్యమువలె మహాసైన్యమగునట్లు ప్రతిదినమున అతనికి సహాయము చేయువారు అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చు చుండిరి.

22. They helped David against the raiding band, for they were all strong, brave men who were commanders in the army.

23. యెహోవా నోటిమాట ప్రకారము సౌలుయొక్క రాజ్యమును దావీదుతట్టు త్రిప్పవలెనన్న ప్రయత్నముతో యుద్ధమునకై ఆయుధములను ధరించి అతనియొద్దకు హెబ్రోనునకు వచ్చిన అధిపతుల లెక్క యెంతయనగా

23. Indeed, reinforcements to assist David reached him daily, until there was a great army, like the army of God.

24. యూదావారిలో డాలును ఈటెను పట్టుకొని యుద్ధసన్నద్ధులై యున్నవారు ఆరువేల ఎనిమిదివందలమంది.

24. Following are the numbers of those who came armed for war to David in Hevron, in order to transfer to him the kingdom of Sha'ul, according to what ADONAI had said.

25. షిమ్యోనీయులలో యుద్ధ మునకు తగినశూరులు ఏడువేల నూరుమంది.

25. The descendants of Y'hudah bearing shields and spears numbered 6,800, armed for war.

26. లేవీయులలో అట్టివారు నాలుగువేల ఆరువందలమంది.

26. Of the descendants of Shim'on, strong, brave men for war, there were 7,100.

27. అహరోను సంతతివారికి యెహోయాదా అధిపతి, అతనితోకూడ ఉన్నవారు మూడువేల ఏడు వందలమంది.

27. Of the descendants of Levi, there were 4,600.

28. Y'hoyada was the leader of the house of Aharon, and with him were 3,700;

30. Of the descendants of Binyamin the kinsmen of Sha'ul, there were 3,000; for up until then, the majority of them had remained loyal to the house of Sha'ul.

31. మనష్షే యొక్క అర్ధగోత్రపు వారిలో దావీదును రాజుగా చేయుటకై రావలెనని పేరు పేరుగా నియమింపబడినవారు పదునెనిమిదివేలమంది.

31. Of the descendants of Efrayim, there were 20,800 strong, brave men, well known in their fathers' families.

32. ఇశ్శాఖారీయులలో సమయోచిత జ్ఞానముకలిగి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చేయతగినదేదో దాని నెరిగియున్న అధిపతులు రెండువందలు; వీరి గోత్రపు వారందరును వీరి యాజ్ఞకు బద్ధులైయుండిరి.

32. Of the half-tribe of M'nasheh, 18,000 were designated by name to come and make David king.

33. జెబూలూ నీయులలో సకలవిధమైన యుద్ధాయుధములను ధరించి యుద్ధమునకు పోదగినవారును యుద్ధపు నేర్పుగలవారును మనస్సునందు పొరపులేకుండ యుద్ధము చేయగలవారును ఏబదివేలమంది.

33. Of the descendants of Yissakhar, men who understood the times and knew what Isra'el ought to do, there were 200 leaders, and all their kinsmen were under their command.

34. నఫ్తాలీయులలో వెయ్యిమంది అధిపతులు, వారితోకూడ డాలును ఈటెను పట్టుకొనిన వారు ముప్పది యేడువేలమంది.

34. Of Z'vulun, 50,000 men were fit for military service, experienced in war and able to use all kinds of weapons; they were brave, and none was doubleminded.

35. దానీయులలో యుద్ధ సన్నద్ధులైన వారు ఇరువది యెనిమిదివేల ఆరు వందల మంది.

35. Of Naftali, there were 1,000 officers, and with them 37,000 troops having shields and spears.

36. ఆషేరీయులలో యుద్ధపు నేర్పుగల యుద్ధ సన్నద్ధులు నలువది వేలమంది.

36. Of Dan, 28,600 were experienced in war.

37. Of Asher, 40,000 men were fit for military service and experienced in war.

38. ఇశ్రాయేలులో కడమ వారందరును ఏకమనస్కులై దావీదును రాజుగా నియ మింపవలెనని కోరియుండిరి.

38. On the other side of the Yarden, from the Re'uveni, the Gadi and the half-tribe of M'nasheh, there were 120,000 with all kinds of weapons for battle.

39. వారి సహోదరులు వారికొరకు భోజనపదార్థములను సిద్ధము చేసియుండగా వారు దావీదుతోకూడ అచ్చట మూడు దినములుండి అన్న పానములు పుచ్చుకొనిరి.

39. All these soldiers who were experienced in war came to Hevron wholeheartedly to make David king over all Isra'el, and all the rest from Isra'el were single-hearted in wanting to make David king.

40. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు సంతోషము కలిగియుండెను గనుక ఇశ్శాఖారు జెబూలూను నఫ్తాలి అనువారి పొలిమేరలవరకు వారికి సమీపమైనవారు గాడిదలమీదను ఒంటెలమీదను కంచరగాడిదల మీదను ఎద్దుల మీదను ఆహారవస్తువులైన పిండివంటకములను అంజూరపు అడలను ఎండిన ద్రాక్షపండ్ల గెలలను ద్రాక్షారసమును నూనెను గొఱ్ఱెలను పశువులను విస్తార ముగా తీసికొనివచ్చిరి.

40. They remained there with David for three days, eating and drinking, for their kinsmen had prepared for them.
