1. Reuben was the first-born son of Israel but because he sinned against his father's marriage bed, his birth-right was given to the sons of Joseph the son of Israel. Reuben is not written down in the family names by his birth-right.

9. He lived as far east as the beginning of the desert this side of the Euphrates River, because their cattle had become too many for the land of Gilead.

10. సౌలు దినములలో వారు హగ్రీ యీలతో యుద్ధము జరిగించి వారిని హతముచేసి గిలాదు తూర్పువైపువరకు వారి గుడారములలో కాపురముండిరి.

10. In the days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites and killed them. So they lived in their tents over all the land east of Gilead.

11. గాదు వంశస్థులు వారికెదురుగా బాషాను దేశమందు సల్కావరకు కాపురముండిరి.

11. The sons of Gad lived beside them in the land of Bashan as far as Salecah.

12. Joel was the leader. Then there was Shapham, then Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan.

17. వీరందరు యూదా రాజైన యోతాము దినములలోను ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన యరోబాము దినములలోను తమ వంశావళుల వరుసను లెక్కలో చేర్చబడిరి.

17. All of these were added to the family names in the days of King Jotham of Judah and King Jeroboam of Israel.

18. రూబేనీయులలోను గాదీయులలోను మనష్షే అర్ధ గోత్రమువారిలోను బల్లెమును ఖడ్గమును ధరించుటకును అంబువేయుటకును నేర్చినవారు, యుద్ధమందు నేర్పరులై దండుకు పోతగినవారు నలువది నాలుగువేల ఏడువందల అరువదిమంది యుండిరి.

18. The sons of Reuben, the Gadites and the half-family group of Manasseh were powerful soldiers. They carried the battle-covering and the sword, and shot with the bow. They were able men in battle. There were 44,760 of them who went to war.

19. వీరు హగ్రీయీలతోను యెతూరువారితోను నాపీషు వారితోను నోదాబువారితోను యుద్ధముచేసిరి.

19. They made war against the Hagrites, Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.

20. They were given help against them, and the Hagrites and all who were with them were given into their hand. They cried out to God in the battle. He gave them what they asked for, because they trusted in Him.

21. They took away their animals, 50,000 camels, 250,000 sheep, 2000 donkeys, and 100,000 men.

22. యుద్ధమందు దేవుని సహాయము వారికి కలుగుటచేత శత్రువులు అనేకులు పడిపోయిరి; తాము చెరతీసికొని పోబడు వరకు రూబేనీయులును గాదీయులును మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారును వీరి స్థానములయందు కాపురముండిరి.

22. Many were killed, because the war was of God. They lived in their place until they were taken away by Assyria.

23. మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారును ఆ దేశమందు కాపుర ముండి వర్ధిల్లుచు, బాషాను మొదలుకొని బయల్హెర్మోను వరకును శెనీరువరకును హెర్మోను పర్వతము వరకును వ్యాపించిరి.

23. The sons of the half-family group of Manasseh lived in the land. There were many of them from Bashan to Baal-hermon, Senir and Mount Hermon.

24. వారి పితరుల యిండ్లకు పెద్దలైనవారెవరనగా ఏఫెరు ఇషీ ఎలీయేలు అజ్రీయేలు యిర్మీయా హోదవ్యా యహదీయేలు; వీరు కీర్తిపొందిన పరాక్రమశాలులై తమ పితరుల యిండ్లకు పెద్దలైరి.

24. The heads of their fathers' houses were Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were powerful soldiers, men whose names were well-known. And they were heads of their fathers' houses.

25. అయితే వారు తమ పితరుల దేవునిమీద తిరుగుబాటుచేసి, దేవుడు తమ ముందర నాశనము చేసిన జనసమూహముల దేవతలతో వ్యభిచరించిరి.

25. But they sinned against the God of their fathers. They sold themselves to the gods of the people of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.

26. కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడు అష్షూరు రాజైన పూలు మనస్సును అష్షూరు రాజైన తిగ్లత్పిలేసెరు మనస్సును రేపగా అతడు రూబేనీయులను గాదీయులను మనష్షే అర్ధగోత్రమువారిని చెరపట్టి నేటికిని కనబడు చున్నట్లుగా హాలహునకును హాబోరునకును హారాకును గోజాను నదీప్రాంతములకును వారిని కొనిపోయెను.

26. So the God of Israel moved the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, also known as Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria. And he carried the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-family group of Manasseh away to a strange land. He brought them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan. And they are there to this day.
