1. ఆసా యేలుబడియందు ముప్పది ఆరవ సంవత్సర మున ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన బయెషా యూదావారిమీద దండెత్తి బయలుదేరి యూదా రాజైన ఆసాయొద్దకు రాక పోకలు జరుగకుండునట్లు రామాను కట్టింపగా

1. But in the thirty-sixth year of Asa's reign, Baasha king of Israel attacked. He started it by building a fort at Ramah and closing the border between Israel and Judah to keep Asa king of Judah from leaving or entering.

2. ఆసా యెహోవా మందిరమందును రాజనగరునందును ఉన్న బొక్కసములలోని వెండి బంగారములను తీసి, దమస్కులో నివాసముచేయు సిరియా రాజగు బెన్హదదు నొద్దకు దూతలచేత పంపించి

2. Asa took silver and gold from the treasuries of The Temple of GOD and the royal palace and sent it to Ben-Hadad, king of Aram who lived in Damascus, with this message:

3. నా తండ్రికిని నీ తండ్రికిని కలిగియున్నట్లు నాకును నీకును సంధి కలిగియున్నది, వెండిని బంగారమును నీకు పంపి యున్నాను, ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన బయెషా నన్ను విడిచి ఆవలికి పోవునట్లుగా నీవు అతనితో చేసియున్న సంధిని భంగము చేయుమని వర్తమానము చేసెను.

3. 'Let's make a treaty like the one between our fathers. I'm showing my good faith with this gift of silver and gold. Break your deal with Baasha king of Israel so he'll quit fighting against me.'

4. బెన్హదదు రాజైన ఆసా మాట అంగీ కరించి, తన సైన్యముల అధిపతులను ఇశ్రాయేలువారి పట్టణములమీదికి పంపగా వీరు ఈయోనును దానును ఆబేల్మాయీమును నఫ్తాలి ప్రదేశమునకు చేరిన పట్టణముల లోని కొట్లను కొల్లపెట్టిరి.

4. Ben-Hadad went along with King Asa and sent his troops against the towns of Israel. They sacked Ijon, Dan, Abel Maim, and all the store-cities of Naphtali.

5. బయెషా అది విని రామాను ప్రాకారములతో కట్టించుట మానివేసి తాను చేయు చున్న పని చాలించెను.

5. When Baasha got the report, he quit fortifying Ramah.

6. అప్పుడు రాజైన ఆసా యూదా వారినందరిని సమకూర్చెను; వీరు పోయి బయెషా కట్టించు చుండిన రామాపట్టణపు రాళ్లను దూలములను తీసికొని వచ్చిరి, వాటితో ఆసా గెబను మిస్పాను ప్రాకార పురములుగా కట్టించెను.

6. Then King Asa issued orders to his people in Judah to haul away the logs and stones Baasha had used in the fortification of Ramah and used them himself to fortify Geba and Mizpah.

7. ఆ కాలమందు దీర్ఘదర్శియైన హనానీ యూదా రాజైన ఆసాయొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితో ఈలాగు ప్రకటించెనునీవు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను నమ్ముకొ నక సిరియా రాజును నమ్ముకొంటివే? సిరియా రాజుయొక్క సైన్యము నీ వశము నుండి తప్పించుకొనిపోయెను.

7. Just after that, Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said, 'Because you went for help to the king of Aram and didn't ask GOD for help, you've lost a victory over the army of the king of Aram.

8. బహు విస్తారమైన రథము లును గుఱ్ఱపు రౌతులునుగల కూషీయులును లూబీయులును గొప్ప దండై వచ్చిరిగదా? అయినను నీవు యెహోవాను నమ్ముకొనినందున ఆయన వారిని నీచేతి కప్పగించెను.

8. Didn't the Ethiopians and Libyans come against you with superior forces, completely outclassing you with their chariots and cavalry? But you asked GOD for help and he gave you the victory.

9. తనయెడల యథార్థహృదయముగలవారిని బలపరచుటకై యెహోవా కనుదృష్టి లోకమందంతట సంచారము చేయుచున్నది; యీ విషయమందు నీవు మతి తప్పి ప్రవర్తించితివి గనుక ఇది మొదలుకొని నీకు యుద్ధములే కలుగును.

9. GOD is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him. You were foolish to go for human help when you could have had God's help. Now you're in trouble--one round of war after another.'

10. ఆ దీర్ఘదర్శి అట్లు ప్రకటించినందుకు ఆసా అతనిమీద కోపగించి రౌద్రము చూపి అతనిని బందీగృహ ములో వేసెను, ఇదియు గాక ఆ సమయమందే ఆసా జనులలో కొందరిని బాధపరచెను.

10. At that, Asa lost his temper. Angry, he put Hanani in the stocks. At the same time Asa started abusing some of the people.

11. ఆసా చేసిన కార్యము లన్నిటినిగూర్చి యూదా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

12. ఆసా తన యేలుబడియందు ముప్పది తొమ్మిదవ సంవత్సరమున పాదములలో జబ్బుపుట్టి తాను బహు బాధపడినను దాని విషయములో అతడు యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయక వైద్యులను పట్టుకొనెను.

12. In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa came down with a severe case of foot infection. He didn't ask GOD for help, but went instead to the doctors.

13. ఆసా తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించి తన యేలుబడియందు నలువది యొకటవ సంవత్సరమున మృతి నొందగా

13. Then Asa died; he died in the forty-first year of his reign.

14. అత్తరు పనివారిచేత సిద్ధము చేయబడిన సుగంధ వర్గములతోను పరిమళద్రవ్యములతోను నిండిన పడకమీద జనులు అతని ఉంచి, అతని నిమిత్తము బహు విస్తారమైన గంధవర్గములను దహించి, దావీదు పట్టణమందు అతడు తన కొరకై తొలిపించు కొనిన సమాధియందు అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి.

14. They buried him in a mausoleum that he had built for himself in the City of David. They laid him in a crypt full of aromatic oils and spices. Then they had a huge bonfire in his memory.
