1. అరబీయులతో కూడ దండు విడియుచోటికివచ్చిన వారు పెద్దవారినందరిని చంపిరి గనుక యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులు అతని కడగొట్టు కుమారుడైన అహజ్యాను అతనికి బదులుగా రాజునుచేసిరి. ఈ ప్రకారము యూదారాజగు యెహోరాము కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా రాజ్యము బొందెను.

1. And the inhabitants of Ierusalem made Ahaziah his yongest sonne King in his steade: for the armie that came with the Arabians to the campe, had slayne all the eldest: therefore Ahaziah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah reigned.

2. అహజ్యా యేలనారంభించినప్పుడు నలువది రెండేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేములో ఒక సంవత్సరము ఏలెను; అతని తల్లి ఒమీ కుమార్తె, ఆమె పేరు అతల్యా

2. Two and fourtie yeere olde was Ahaziah when he began to reigne, and he reigned one yeere in Ierusalem. and his mothers name was Athaliah the daughter of Omri.

3. దుర్మార్గముగా ప్రవర్తించుటకు అతని తల్లి అతనికి నేర్పుచు వచ్చెను గనుక అతడును అహాబు సంతతివారి మార్గములందు నడచెను.

3. He walked also in the wayes of the house of Ahab: for his mother counselled him to doe wickedly.

4. అహాబు సంతతివారివలెనే అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడునడత నడచెను; అతని తండ్రి మరణమైన తరువాత వారు అతనికి ఆలోచనకర్తలై అతని నాశమునకు కారుకులైరి.

4. Wherefore he did euill in the sight of the Lord, like the house of Ahab: for they were his counsellers after the death of his father, to his destruction.

5. వారి ఆలోచన చొప్పున అతడు ప్రవర్తించి, రామోత్గిలాదులో సిరియారాజైన హజాయేలుతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకై అహాబు కుమారుడైన ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజగు యెహోరాముతోకూడ పోయెను; సిరియనులచేత యెహోరామునకు గాయములు తగిలెను.

5. And he walked after their counsel, and went with Iehoram the sonne of Ahab King of Israel to fight against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead: and the Aramites smote Ioram.

6. సిరియారాజైన హజాయేలుతో తాను రామాలో చేసిన యుద్ధమునందు తనకు తగిలిన గాయములను బాగుచేసి కొనుటకై అతడు యెజ్రెయేలునకు మరల వచ్చెను. అహాబు కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము రోగియైయున్నాడని విని యూదా రాజైన యెహోరాము కుమారుడగు అహజ్యా అతని దర్శించుటకై యెజ్రెయేలునకు పోయెను.

6. And he returned to be healed in Izreel, because of the woundes wherewith they had wounded him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael King of Aram. Nowe Azariah the sonne of Iehoram King of Iudah went downe to see Iehoram the sonne of Ahab at Izreel, because hee was diseased.

7. యెహోరాము నొద్దకు అతడు వచ్చుటచేత దేవునివలన అతనికి నాశము కలిగెను; ఎట్లనగా అతడు వచ్చినప్పుడు అహాబు సంతతివారిని నిర్మూలము చేయుటకై యెహోవా అభిషేకించిన నింషీకుమారుడైన యెహూమీదికి అతడు యెహోరాముతోకూడ పోగా

7. And the destruction of Ahaziah came of God in that he went to Ioram: for when he was come, he went forth with Iehoram against Iehu the sonne of Nimshi, whom the Lord had anointed to destroy the house of Ahab.

8. యెహూ అహాబు సంతతి వారిమీద తీర్పు తీర్చుటకై వచ్చినప్పుడు అతడు యూదావారి అధిపతులను, అహజ్యాకు పరిచారకులుగా నున్న అహజ్యా సహోదరుల కుమారులను చూచి వారిని హతముచేసెను.

8. Therefore when Iehu executed iudgement vpon the house of Ahab, and found the princes of Iudah and the sonnes of the brethren of Ahaziah that waited on Ahaziah, he slew them also.

9. అతడు అహజ్యాను వెదకెను. అతడు షోమ్రోనులో దాగియుండగా వారు అతని పట్టుకొని యెహూనొద్దకు తీసికొనివచ్చిరి; వారు అతని చంపిన తరువాత ఇతడు యెహోవాను హృదయపూర్వకముగా వెదకిన యెహోషాపాతు కుమారుడు గదా అనుకొని అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి; కాగా రాజ్యమేలుటకు అహజ్యా యింటి వారు ఇక నెవరును లేకపోయిరి.

9. And he sought Ahaziah, and they caught him where he was hid in Samaria, and brought him to Iehu, and slewe him, and buryed him, because, sayd they, he is the sonne of Iehoshaphat, which sought the Lord with all his heart. So the house of Ahaziah was not able to reteine the kingdome.

10. అహజ్యా తల్లియైన అతల్యా తన కుమారుడు చనిపోయె నని వినినప్పుడు ఆమె లేచి యూదావారి సంబంధులగు రాజవంశజులనందరిని హతము చేసెను.

10. Therefore when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah sawe that her sonne was dead, shee arose and destroyed all the Kings seede of the house of Iudah.

11. అయితే రాజునకు కుమార్తెయైన యెహోషబతు అహజ్యా కుమారుడైన యోవాషును హతులైన రాజకుమారులలోనుండి దొంగిలించి, అతనిని అతని దాదిని ఒక పడకటింటిలో ఉంచెను. యెహోరాము రాజు కుమార్తెయును యెహోయాదా అను యాజకుని భార్యయునైన యెహోషబతు అతల్యాకు కనబడకుండ అతని దాచిపెట్టెను గనుక ఆమె అతని చంపలేకపోయెను; ఈ యెహోషబతు అహజ్యాకు సహోదరి.

11. But Iehoshabeath the daughter of ye King, tooke Ioash the sonne of Ahaziah, and stale him from among the Kings sonnes, that shoulde be slayne, and put him and his nource in the bed chamber: so Iehoshabeath the daughter of King Iehoram the wife of Iehoiada the Priest (for shee was the sister of Ahaziah) hid him from Athaliah: so she slew him not.

12. ఆరు సంవత్సరములు అతడు వారితోకూడ దేవుని మందిర ములో దాచబడియుండెను; ఆ కాలమున అతల్యా దేశమును పాలించెను.

12. And hee was with them hid in the house of God sixe yeeres, whiles Athaliah reigned ouer the land.
