1. రాజు ఇట్టి నమ్మకమైన చర్య చూపిన తరువాత అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు వచ్చి, యూదాదేశములో చొరబడి ప్రాకారపురములయెదుట దిగి వాటిని లోపరచుకొన జూచెను.

1. After these things and [after] this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities and thought to break them up.

2. సన్హెరీబు దండెత్తి వచ్చి యెరూషలేముమీద యుద్ధము చేయనుద్దేశించి యున్నాడని హిజ్కియాచూచి

2. And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,

3. పట్టణముబయటనున్న ఊటల నీళ్లను అడ్డవలెనని తలచి, తన యధిపతులతోను పరాక్రమశాలులతోను యోచనచేయగా వారతనికి సహాయము చేసిరి.

3. he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which [were] outside the city, and they helped him.

4. బహుజనులు పోగై అష్షూరు రాజులు రానేల? విస్తారమైనజలము వారికి దొరుక నేల? అనుకొని ఊటలన్నిటిని దేశమధ్యముగుండ పారు చున్న కాలువను అడ్డిరి.

4. So many people gathered together, and they stopped up all the fountains and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come and find much water?

5. మరియు రాజు ధైర్యము తెచ్చు కొని, పాడైన గోడ యావత్తు కట్టించి, గోపురములవరకు దానిని ఎత్తు చేయించి, బయట మరియొక గోడను కట్టించి, దావీదు పట్టణములో మిల్లో దుర్గమును బాగు చేయించెను. మరియు ఈటెలను డాళ్లను విస్తారముగా చేయించెను.

5. Also he strengthened himself and built up all the wall that was broken and caused the towers to be raised up, and another wall outside, and repaired Millo [in] the city of David, and made swords and shields in abundance.

6. జనులమీద సైన్యాధిపతులను నియమించి పట్టణపు గుమ్మములకు పోవు రాజవీధిలోనికి వారిని తన యొద్దకు రప్పించి వారిని ఈలాగు హెచ్చరికచేసెను

6. And he set captains of war over the people and gathered them together to him in the plaza of the gate of the city and spoke unto their heart, saying,

7. మీరు దిగులుపడకుడి, ధైర్యము విడువకుడి; అష్షూరు రాజుకైనను అతనితో కూడనున్న సైన్యమంతటికైనను మీరు భయపడవద్దు, విస్మయమొందవద్దు, అతనికి కలిగియున్న సహాయముకంటె ఎక్కువ సహాయము మనకు కలదు.

7. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria nor for all the multitude that [is] with him, for [there are] more with us than with him.

8. మాంససంబంధమైన బాహువే అతనికి అండ, మనకు సహాయము చేయుటకును మన యుద్ధములను జరిగించుట కును మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా మనకు తోడుగా ఉన్నాడని చెప్పగా జనులు యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియా చెప్పిన మాటలయందు నమ్మికయుంచిరి.

8. With him [is] an arm of flesh, but with us [is] the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles. And the people were upheld by the words of Hezekiah, king of Judah.

9. ఇదియైన తరువాత అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు తన బలగ మంతటితో లాకీషును ముట్టడివేయుచుండి, యెరూషలేమునకు యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియా యొద్దకును, యెరూషలేమునందున్న యూదావారందరియొద్దకును తన సేవకులను పంపి ఈలాగు ప్రకటన చేయించెను

9. After this Sennacherib, king of Assyria, sent his servants to Jerusalem (but he [himself laid siege] against Lachish, and all his power with him) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that [were] at Jerusalem, saying,

10. అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా దేని నమ్మి మీరు ముట్టిడివేయబడియున్న యెరూషలేములో నిలుచు చున్నారు?

10. Thus hath said Sennacherib, king of Assyria, In whom do ye trust that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?

11. కరవుచేతను దాహముచేతను మిమ్మును చంపు టకైమన దేవుడైన యెహోవా అష్షూరురాజు చేతిలో నుండి మనలను విడిపించునని చెప్పి హిజ్కియా మిమ్మును ప్రేరేపించుచున్నాడు గదా?

11. Does not Hezekiah deceive you to give yourselves over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

12. ఆ హిజ్కియా, మీరు ఒక్క బలిపీఠము ఎదుట నమస్కరించి దానిమీద ధూపము వేయవలెనని యూదావారికిని యెరూషలేమువారికిని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి, యెహోవా ఉన్నతస్థలములను బలిపీఠములను తీసి వేసినవాడుకాడా?

12. Has not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar and burn incense upon it?

13. నేనును నా పితరులును ఇతరదేశముల జనుల కందరికిని ఏమేమి చేసితిమో మీరెరుగరా? ఆ దేశ జనుల దేవతలు వారి దేశములను నా చేతిలోనుండి యేమాత్రమైనను రక్షింప చాలియుండెనా?

13. Have ye not known what I and my fathers have done unto all the people of [other] lands? Could peradventure the gods of the Gentiles of those lands deliver their lands out of my hand?

14. మీ దేవుడు మిమ్మును నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపింపగలడనుకొనుటకు, నా పితరులు బొత్తిగా నిర్మూలము చేసిన ఆ యా దేశస్థుల సకల దేవతలలోను తన జనులను నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపింప గలిగిన దేవుడొకడైన యుండెనా?

14. Who [was there] among all the gods of those Gentiles that my fathers utterly destroyed that could deliver his people out of my hands? Why should your God be able to deliver you out of my hand?

15. కాబట్టి యిప్పుడు హిజ్కియాచేత మీరు మోసపోకుడి, మీరు ఇట్టి ప్రేరేపణకు లోబడకుడి, అతని నమ్ముకొనకుడి, యే జనుల దేవు డైనను ఏ రాజ్యపు దేవుడైనను తన జనులను నా చేతిలో నుండి గాని నా పితరుల చేతిలోనుండి గాని విడిపింపలేక పోగా, మీ దేవుడు నా చేతిలోనుండి మిమ్మును మొదలే విడిపింపలేక పోవునుగదా అనెను.

15. Now, therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you nor persuade you in this matter neither believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hands and out of the hands of my fathers; how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?

16. అతని సేవకులు దేవు డైన యెహోవామీదను ఆయన సేవకుడైన హిజ్కియా మీదను ఇంకను పేలాపనలు పేలిరి.

16. And his servants spoke yet [more] against the LORD God and against his servant Hezekiah.

17. అదియుగాక ఇతర దేశముల జనుల దేవతలు తమ జనులను నా చేతిలోనుండి యేలాగున విడిపింపలేకపోయిరో ఆలాగున హిజ్కియా సేవించు దేవుడును తన జనులను నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపింప లేకపోవునని ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన యెహోవాను నిందించుటకును, ఆయనమీద అపవాదములు పలుకుటకును అతడు పత్రికలు వ్రాసి పంపెను.

17. In addition to this, he wrote letters that blasphemed the LORD God of Israel and spoke against him, saying, As the gods of the Gentiles of [other] lands could not deliver their people out of my hand, neither shall the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of my hand.

18. అప్పుడు వారు పట్టణమును పట్టుకొనవలెనన్న యోచనతో, ప్రాకారము మీదనున్న యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులను బెదరించుటకును నొప్పించుటకును, యూదాభాషలో బిగ్గరగా వారితో ఆ మాటలు పలికిరి.

18. Then they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' speech unto the people of Jerusalem that [were] on the wall, to make them afraid and to trouble them, that they might take the city.

19. మరియు వారు మనుష్యుల చేతిపనియైన భూజనుల దేవతలమీద తాము పలికిన దూషణలను యెరూషలేముయొక్క దేవునిమీద కూడను పలికిరి.

19. And they spoke against the God of Jerusalem as against the gods of the peoples of the earth, [which were] the work of the hands of man.

20. రాజైన హిజ్కియాయును ఆమోజు కుమారుడైన యెషయా అను ప్రవక్తయును ఇందును గురించి ప్రార్థించి ఆకాశముతట్టు చూచి మొఱ్ఱపెట్టగా

20. And for this [cause] Hezekiah, the king, and the prophet Isaiah, the son of Amoz, prayed and cried to heaven.

21. యెహోవా ఒక దూతను పంపెను. అతడు అష్షూరు రాజు దండులోని పరాక్రమశాలులనందరిని సేనా నాయకులను అధికారులను నాశనముచేయగా అష్షూరురాజు సిగ్గునొందినవాడై తన దేశమునకు తిరిగిపోయెను. అంతట అతడు తన దేవునిగుడిలో చొచ్చినప్పుడు అతని కడుపున పుట్టినవారే అతని అక్కడ కత్తిచేత చంపిరి.

21. And the LORD sent an angel who cut off all the mighty men of valour and the captains and the princes in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And as he entered into the house of his god, those that had come forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.

22. ఈ ప్రకారము యెహోవా హిజ్కియాను యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులను అష్షూరు రాజైన సన్హెరీబు చేతిలోనుండియు అందరిచేతిలోనుండియు రక్షించి, అన్నివైపులను వారిని కాపాడినందున

22. Thus, the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hands of Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, and from the hands of all [others] and guided them concerning everything.

23. అనేకులు యెరూషలేములో యెహోవాకు అర్పణలను యూదా రాజైన హిజ్కియాకు కానుకలను తెచ్చి యిచ్చిరి. అందు వలన అతడు అప్పటినుండి సకల జనముల దృష్టికి ఘనత నొందిన వాడాయెను.

23. And many brought a present unto the LORD to Jerusalem and precious gifts unto Hezekiah, king of Judah, so that he was magnified in the sight of all the Gentiles from then on.

24. ఆ దినములలో హిజ్కియా రోగియై మరణదశలో నుండెను. అతడు యెహోవాకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టగా ఆయన అతనికి తన చిత్తమును తెలియపరచి అతనికి సూచన యొకటి దయచేసెను.

24. In those days Hezekiah was sick unto the death and prayed to the LORD, who responded to him and gave him a sign.

25. అయితే హిజ్కియా మనస్సున గర్వించి తనకు చేయబడిన మేలుకు తగినట్లు ప్రవర్తింపనందున అతని మీదికిని యూదా యెరూషలేముల వారిమీదికిని కోపము రాగా

25. But Hezekiah did not render again according to the benefit [done] unto him, for his heart lifted itself up; therefore there was wrath against him and against Judah and Jerusalem.

26. హిజ్కియా హృదయగర్వము విడచి, తానును యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులును తమ్మును తాము తగ్గించుకొనిరి గనుక హిజ్కియా దినములలో యెహోవా కోపము జనుల మీదికి రాలేదు.

26. Notwithstanding, Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, [both] he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of the LORD did not come upon them in the days of Hezekiah.

27. హిజ్కియాకు అతివిస్తారమైన ఐశ్వర్యమును ఘనతయు కలిగెను. అతడు వెండి బంగార ములను రత్నములను సుగంధద్రవ్యములను డాళ్లను నానా విధములగు శ్రేష్ఠమైన ఉపకరణములను సంపాదించి వాటికి బొక్కసములను కట్టించెను.

27. And Hezekiah had exceedingly great riches and honour, and he made himself treasures of silver and of gold and of precious stones and of spices and of shields and of all manner of pleasant vessels,

28. ధాన్యమును ద్రాక్షా రసమును తైలమును ఉంచుటకు కొట్లను, పలువిధముల పశువులకు శాలలను మందలకు దొడ్లను కట్టించెను.

28. storehouses also for the increase of grain and wine and oil and stalls for all manner of beasts and places for cattle.

29. మరియు దేవుడు అతనికి అతి విస్తారమైన కలిమి దయచేసినందున పట్టణములను విస్తారమైన గొఱ్ఱెలమందలను పసులమందలను అతడు సంపాదించెను.

29. Moreover, he made himself cities and possessions of sheep and cows in abundance, for God had given him great substance.

30. ఈ హిజ్కియా గిహోను కాలువకు ఎగువను కట్టవేయించి దావీదు పట్టణపు పడమటి వైపునకు దాని తెప్పించెను, హిజ్కియా తాను పూనుకొనిన సర్వప్రయత్నములయందును వృద్ధిపొందెను.

30. This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper watercourse of Gihon and brought it straight down to the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah was prospered in all that he did.

31. అతని దేశము ఆశ్చర్యముగా వృద్ధినొందుటను గూర్చి విచారించి తెలిసికొనుటకై బబులోను అధిపతులు అతనియొద్దకు పంపిన రాయబారుల విషయములో అతని శోధించి, అతని హృద యములోని ఉద్ధేశమంతయు తెలిసికొనవలెనని దేవుడతని విడచిపెట్టెను.

31. However, because of the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to enquire of the wonder that had happened in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all [that was] in his heart.

32. హిజ్కియా చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చూపిన భక్తినిగూర్చియు, ప్రవక్త యును ఆమోజు కుమారుడునగు యెషయాకు కలిగిన దర్శనముల గ్రంథము నందును యూదా ఇశ్రాయేలుల రాజుల గ్రంథమునందును వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

32. Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah and his mercy, behold, they [are] written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, [and] in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.

33. హిజ్కియా తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించగా జనులు దావీదు సంతతివారి శ్మశానభూమి యందు కట్టబడిన పైస్థానమునందు అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి. అతడు మరణ మొందినప్పుడు యూదావారందరును యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులందరును అతనికి ఉత్తర క్రియలను ఘనముగా జరిగించిరి. అతని కుమారుడైన మనష్షే అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

33. And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David; and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh, his son, reigned in his stead.:
