1. ఈ నెల యిరువది నాలుగవ దినమందు ఇశ్రాయేలీ యులు ఉపవాసముండి గోనెపట్టలు కట్టుకొని తలమీద ధూళి పోసికొని కూడి వచ్చిరి.

1. Now, on the twenty-fourth day of this month, were the sons of Israel gathered together, with fasting and with sackcloth, having earth upon them.

2. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు అన్య జనులందరిలోనుండి ప్రత్యేకింపబడిన వారై నిలువబడి, తమ పాపములను తమ పితరుల పాపములను ఒప్పుకొనిరి.

2. And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all the sons of the foreigner, and stood and made confession over their own sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.

3. మరియు వారు ఒక జాముసేపు తామున్న చోటనే నిలువ బడి, తమ దేవుడైన యెహోవా ధర్మశాస్త్రగ్రంథమును చదువుచు వచ్చిరి, ఒక జాముసేపు తమ పాపములను ఒప్పు కొనుచు దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు నమస్కారము చేయుచు వచ్చిరి.

3. So they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of Yahweh their God, a fourth part of the day, and, a fourth part, they were making confession and bowing themselves down, unto Yahweh their God.

4. లేవీయులలో యేషూవ బానీ కద్మీయేలు షెబన్యా బున్నీ షేరేబ్యా బానీ కెనానీ అనువారు మెట్లమీద నిలువబడి, యెలుగెత్తి, తమ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు మొఱ్ఱ పెట్టిరి.

4. Then stood up on the platform of the Levites, Jeshua and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, Chenani, and made outcry, with a loud voice, unto Yahweh their God.

5. అప్పుడు లేవీయులైన యేషూవ కద్మీయేలు బానీ హషబ్నెయా షేరేబ్యా హోదీయా షెబన్యా పెతహయా అనువారునిలువబడి, నిరంతరము మీకు దేవుడైయున్న యెహోవాను స్తుతించుడని చెప్పి ఈలాగు స్తోత్రము చేసిరి - సకలాశీర్వచన స్తోత్రములకు మించిన నీ ఘనమైన నామము స్తుతింపబడునుగాక.

5. Then said the Levites Jeshua and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, Pethahiah, Stand up, bless Yahweh your God, from age to age, Yea let them bless thy glorious Name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.

6. నీవే, అద్వితీయుడవైన యెహోవా, నీవే ఆకాశమును మహాకాశములను వాటి సైన్యమును, భూమిని దానిలో ఉండునది అంతటిని, సముద్రములను వాటిలో ఉండునది అంతటిని సృజించి వాటినన్నిటిని కాపాడువాడవు. ఆకాశ సైన్యమంతయు నీకే నమస్కారము చేయుచున్నది.

6. Thou, art Yahweh, thou alone, Thou, didst make the heavens, the heavens of heavens, and all their host, the earth and all that is thereon, the seas and all that is therein, and, thou, holdest them all in life, and, the host of the heavens, unto thee, are bowing down.

7. దేవా యెహోవా, అబ్రామును ఏర్పరచుకొని, కల్దీయుల ఊరు అను స్థలము నుండి ఇవతలకు అతని రప్పించి అతనికి అబ్రాహామను పేరు పెట్టినవాడవు నీవే.

7. Thou, art Yahweh, God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and madest his name Abraham;

8. అతడు నమ్మకమైన మనస్సుగల వాడని యెరిగి, కనానీయులు హిత్తీయులు అమోరీయులు పెరిజ్జీ యులు యెబూసీయులు గిర్గాషీయులు అనువారి దేశమును అతని సంతతివారికిచ్చునట్లు ఆతనితో నిబంధన చేసినవాడవు నీవే.

8. and didst find his heart faithful before thee, and didst solemnize with him a covenant, to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it unto his seed, and didst confirm thy words, for, righteous, thou art.

9. నీవు నీతిమంతుడవై యుండి నీ మాటచొప్పున జరిగించితివి. ఐగుప్తులో మా పితరులు పొందిన శ్రమను నీవు చూచితివి, ఎఱ్ఱసముద్రమునొద్ద వారి మొఱ్ఱను నీవు వింటివి.

9. Yea thou sawest the affliction of our fathers, in Egypt, and, their outcry, thou heardest, by the Red Sea;

10. ఫరోయు అతని దాసులందరును అతని దేశపు జనులందరును వారియెడల బహు గర్వ ముగా ప్రవర్తించిరని నీకు తెలియగా నీవు వారియెదుట సూచకక్రియలను మహత్కార్యములను చూపించితివి. ఆలాగున చేయుటవలన నీవు ఈ దినమందున్నట్టుగా ప్రసిద్ధినొందితివి.

10. and didst grant signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land, for thou hadst taken note, that they ruled proudly over them, and so thou didst make thee a name, as at this day.

11. మరియు నీ జనులయెదుట నీవు సముద్రమును విభాగించినందున వారు సముద్రముమధ్య పొడినేలను నడచిరి, ఒకడు లోతునీట రాయి వేసినట్లు వారిని తరిమినవారిని అగాధజలములలో నీవు పడవేసితివి.

11. And, the sea, didst thou cleave asunder before them, and they passed through the midst of the sea, on dry ground, whereas, their pursuers, thou didst cast into the depths like a stone, into the mighty waters,

12. ఇదియుగాక పగటికాలమందు మేఘస్తంభములో ఉండిన వాడవును రాత్రికాలమందు వారు వెళ్లవలసిన మార్గమున వెలుగిచ్చుటకై అగ్నిస్తంభములో ఉండినవాడవును అయి యుండి వారిని తోడుకొనిపోతివి.

12. And, in a pillar of cloud, didst thou lead them, by day, and in a pillar of fire, by night, to light up for them the way wherein they should go.

13. సీనాయి పర్వతము మీదికి దిగి వచ్చి ఆకాశమునుండి వారితో మాటలాడి, వారికి నీతియుక్తమైన విధులను సత్యమైన ఆజ్ఞలను మేలు కరములైన కట్టడలను ధర్మములను నీవు దయచేసితివి.

13. And, upon Mount Sinai, camest thou down, and spakest with them out of the heavens, and gavest them just regulations, and faithful laws, good statutes and commandments.

14. వారికి నీ పరిశుద్ధమైన విశ్రాంతి దినమును ఆచరింప నాజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి నీ దాసుడైన మోషేద్వారా ఆజ్ఞలను కట్టడలను ధర్మశాస్త్రమును వారికి నియమించితివి.

14. And, thy holy sabbath, didst thou make known to them, and, commandments and statutes and a law, didst thou command them, through Moses thy servant.

15. వారి ఆకలి తీర్చుటకు ఆకాశమునుండి ఆహారమును వారి దాహము తీర్చుటకు బండలోనుండి ఉదకమును తెప్పించితివి. వారికి ప్రమాణముచేసిన దేశమును స్వాధీనపరచుకొనవలెనని వారి కాజ్ఞాపించితివి.

15. And, bread out of the heavens, didst thou give them, for their hunger, and, waters out of the cliff, didst thou bring them, for their thirst, and badest them go in to take possession of the land, which thou hadst lifted thy hand to give them.

16. అయితే వారును మా పితరులును గర్వించి, లోబడనొల్లక నీ ఆజ్ఞలకు చెవియొగ్గక పోయిరి.

16. But, they and our fathers, dealt proudly, and hardened their neck, and hearkened not unto thy commandments;

17. వారు విధేయులగుటకు మనస్సు లేనివారై తమ మధ్య నీవు చేసిన అద్భుతములను జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనక తమ మనస్సును కఠినపరచు కొని, తాముండి వచ్చిన దాస్యపుదేశమునకు తిరిగి వెళ్లుటకు ఒక అధికారిని కోరుకొని నీ మీద తిరుగు బాటు చేసిరి. అయితే నీవు క్షమించుటకు సిద్ధమైన దేవుడవును, దయావాత్సల్యతలు గలవాడవును, దీర్ఘశాంత మును బహు కృపయు గలవాడవునై యుండి వారిని విసర్జింపలేదు.

17. but refused to hearken, neither kept in mind thy wonders which thou hadst done with them, but they hardened their neck, and appointed a head that they might return to their servitude, in their perverseness. But, thou, art a God of forgivenesses, gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness, and didst not forsake them.

18. వారు ఒక పోతదూడను చేసికొనిఐగుప్తులోనుండి మమ్మును రప్పించిన దేవుడు ఇదే అని చెప్పి, నీకు బహు విసుకు పుట్టించినను

18. Yea, although they made them a molten calf, and said, This, is thy God, that brought thee up out of Egypt, and wrought great insults,

19. వారు ఎడారిలో ఉండగా నీవు బహు విస్తారమైన కృప కలిగినవాడవై వారిని విసర్జింపలేదు; మార్గముగుండ వారిని తోడుకొని పోవుటకు పగలు మేఘస్తంభమును, దారిలో వారికి వెలు గిచ్చుటకు రాత్రి అగ్నిస్తంభమును వారిపైనుండి వెళ్లిపోక నిలిచెను.

19. yet, thou, in thine abounding compassions, didst not forsake them in the desert, the pillar of cloud, departed not from over them by day, to lead them in the way, nor the pillar of fire by night, to light up for them the way wherein they should go.

20. వారికి భోధించుటకు నీ యుపకారాత్మను దయ చేసితివి, నీ విచ్చిన మన్నాను ఇయ్యక మానలేదు; వారి దాహమునకు ఉదకమిచ్చితివి.

20. And, thy Good Spirit, thou gavest, to instruct them, and, thy manna, thou withheldest not from their mouth, and, water, thou gavest them, for their thirst.

21. నిజముగా అరణ్యములో ఏమియు తక్కువ కాకుండ నలువది సంవత్సరములు వారిని పోషించితివి. వారి వస్త్రములు పాతగిలిపోలేదు, వారి కాళ్లకువాపు రాలేదు.

21. Yea, forty years, didst thou sustain them in the desert, they lacked nothing, their mantles, waxed not old and, their feet, swelled not.

22. ఇదియుగాక రాజ్యములను జన ములను వారికప్పగించి, వారికి సరిహద్దులు ఏర్పరచితివి గనుక, వారు సీహోను అను హెష్బోను రాజుయొక్క దేశమును బాషానునకు రాజైన ఓగుయొక్క దేశమును స్వతంత్రించుకొనిరి.

22. And thou gavest them kingdoms, and peoples, and allotted to each of them a corner, and they took possession of the land of Sihon, and the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.

23. వారి సంతతిని ఆకాశపు నక్షత్రములంత విస్తారముగా చేసి, ప్రవేశించి స్వతంత్రించు కొనునట్లు వారి పితరులకు నీవు వాగ్దానముచేసిన దేశములోనికి వారిని రప్పింపగా

23. Their children also, didst thou multiply, like the stars of the heavens, and didst bring them into the land which thou hadst promised their fathers they should enter to possess;

24. ఆ సంతతివారు ప్రవేశించి ఆ దేశమును స్వతంత్రించుకొనిరి. నీవు కనానీయులను ఆ దేశవాసులను జయించి, తమకు మనస్సువచ్చినట్లు చేయుటకు వారి రాజులను ఆ దేశజనులను వారి చేతికి అప్పగించితివి.

24. so the children entered and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and deliveredst them into their hand, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, to do with them according to their pleasure;

25. అప్పుడు వారు ప్రాకారములుగల పట్టణ ములను ఫలవంతమైన భూమిని స్వాధీనపరచుకొని, సకలమైన పదార్థములతో నిండియున్న యిండ్లను త్రవ్విన బావులను ద్రాక్షతోటలను ఒలీవ తోటలను బహు విస్తారముగా ఫలించు చెట్లను వశపరచుకొనిరి. ఆలాగున వారు తిని తృప్తిపొంది మదించి నీ మహోపకారమునుబట్టి బహుగా సంతోషించిరి.

25. and they captured fortified cities and a fat soil, and took possession of houses full of every good thing, wells digged, vineyards and oliveyards and fruit-trees, in abundance, so they did eat and were filled and became fat, and luxuriated in thy great goodness.

26. అయినను వారు అవిధేయులై నీ మీద తిరుగుబాటుచేసి, నీ ధర్మశాస్త్రమును లక్ష్య పెట్టక త్రోసివేసి, నీతట్టు తిరుగవలెనని తమకు ప్రకటన చేసిన నీ ప్రవక్తలను చంపి నీకు బహుగా విసుకు పుట్టించిరి.

26. But they murmured and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their back, and, thy prophets, they slew, who testified against them that they might turn them back unto thee, and they wrought great insults.

27. అందుచేత నీవు వారిని వారి శత్రువులచేతికి అప్పగించితివి. ఆ శత్రువులు వారిని బాధింపగా శ్రమకాలమందు వారు నీకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టినప్పుడు ఆకాశమందుండు నీవు ఆలకించి, వారి శత్రువుల చేతిలోనుండి వారిని తప్పించుటకై నీ కృపాసంపత్తిని బట్టి వారికి రక్షకులను దయచేసితివి.

27. Therefore didst thou deliver them into the hand of their adversaries, who distressed them, and, in the time of their distress, they made outcry unto thee, and, thou, out of the heavens, didst hear, and, according to thine abounding compassions, gavest them saviors, that they might save them out of the hand of their adversaries.

28. వారు నెమ్మదిపొందిన తరువాత నీ యెదుట మరల ద్రోహులుకాగా నీవు వారిని వారి శత్రువులచేతికి అప్పగించితివి; వీరు వారిమీద అధికారము చేసిరి. వారు తిరిగి వచ్చి నీకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టినప్పుడు ఆకాశమందుండు నీవు ఆలంకించి నీ కృపచొప్పున అనేకమారులు వారిని విడిపించితివి.

28. But, as soon as they had rest, they again wrought wickedness before thee, and thou didst leave them in the hand of their enemies, who bare rule over them, yet, when they again made outcry unto thee, thou, from the heavens, didst hear and didst deliver them according to thy compassions, many times;

29. నీ ఆజ్ఞలను విధులను ఒకడు ఆచరించిన యెడల వాటివలన వాడు బ్రదుకునుగదా. వారు మరల నీ ధర్మశాస్త్రము ననుసరించి నడుచునట్లు నీవు వారిమీద సాక్ష్యము పలికినను, వారు గర్వించి నీ ఆజ్ఞలకు లోబడక నీ విధుల విషయములో పాపులై నిన్ను తిరస్కరించి తమ మనస్సును కఠినపరచుకొని నీ మాట వినకపోయిరి.

29. and didst testify against them, to bring them back unto thy law, yet, they, dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, and, against thy regulations, they sinned, the which if any son of earth shall do then shall he live by them, and yielded a rebellious shoulder, and, their neck, they stiffened, and hearkened not.

30. నీవు అనేక సంవత్సరములు వారిని ఓర్చి, నీ ప్రవక్తలద్వారా నీ ఆత్మచేత వారిమీద సాక్ష్యము పలికితివి గాని వారు వినక పోయిరి; కాగా నీవు ఆయా దేశములలోనున్న జనుల చేతికి వారిని అప్పగించితివి.

30. And thou didst suffer many years to pass over them, and didst testify against them by thy Spirit through thy prophets, yet did they not give ear, therefore didst thou deliver them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

31. అయితే నీవు మహోప కారివై యుండి, వారిని బొత్తిగా నాశనముచేయకయు విడిచిపెట్టకయు ఉంటివి. నిజముగా నీవు కృపాకనికర ములుగల దేవుడవై యున్నావు.

31. Yet, in thine abounding compassions, thou didst not make of them an end, neither didst thou forsake them, for, a GOD gracious and full of compassion, thou art.

32. చేసిన నిబంధనను నిలు పుచు కృప చూపునట్టి మహా పరాక్రమశాలివియు భయం కరుడవునగు మా దేవా, అష్షూరు రాజుల దినములు మొదలుకొని యీ దినములవరకు మా మీదికిని మా రాజుల మీదికిని ప్రధానులమీదికిని మా పితరులమీదికిని నీ జను లందరిమీదికిని వచ్చిన శ్రమయంతయు నీ దృష్టికి అల్ప ముగా ఉండకుండును గాక.

32. Now, therefore, O our God the GOD great, mighty, and fearful keeping the covenant and the lovingkindness, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, which hath come upon us on our kings, on our rulers, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, from the days of the kings of Assyria, until this day.

33. మా మీదికి వచ్చిన శ్రమ లన్నిటిని చూడగా నీవు న్యాయస్థుడవే; నీవు సత్యము గానే ప్రవర్తించితివి కాని మేము దుర్మార్గులమైతివిు.

33. But, thou, art righteous, as to all that hath fallen upon us, for, faithfulness, hast thou wrought, whereas, we, have been lawless;

34. మా రాజులు గాని మా ప్రధానులు గాని మా యాజకులు గాని మా పితరులు గాని నీ ధర్మశాస్త్రము ననుసరించి నడువలేదు. నీవు వారిమీద పలికిన సాక్ష్యములనైనను నీ ఆజ్ఞలనైనను వారు వినకపోయిరి.

34. and, our kings, our rulers, our priests, and our fathers, have not kept thy law, nor given heed unto thy commandments, or unto thy testimonies, wherewith thou hast testified against them.

35. వారు తమ రాజ్య పరిపాలనకాలమందు నీవు తమ యెడల చూపించిన గొప్ప ఉపకారములను తలంచక, నీవు వారికిచ్చిన విస్తారమగు ఫలవంతమైన భూమిని అనుభవించియుండియు నిన్ను సేవింపకపోయిరి, తమ చెడు నడతలువిడిచి మారుమనస్సు పొందరైరి.

35. But, they, in their kingdom, and in thine abundant goodness which thou gavest them, and in the broad and fat land which thou didst set before them, did not serve thee, neither turned they from their wicked doings.

36. చిత్తగించుము, నేడు మేము దాస్యములో ఉన్నాము, దాని ఫలమును దాని సమృధ్ధిని అనుభవించునట్లు నీవు మా పితరులకు దయచేసిన భూమియందు మేము దాసులమై యున్నాము.
యోహాను 8:33

36. Lo! we, to-day, are bondmen even upon the land which thou gavest our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, lo! we, are bondmen;

37. మా పాపములనుబట్టి నీవు మామీద నియమించిన రాజులకు అది అతివిస్తారముగా ఫల మిచ్చుచున్నది.

37. and, the increase thereof, aboundeth unto the kings whom thou hast set over us, for our sins, and, over our bodies, are they bearing rule, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and, in great distress, we are.

38. వారు తమకిష్టము వచ్చినట్లు మా శరీరములమీదను మా పశువులమీదను అధికారము చూపు చున్నారు గనుక మాకు చాల శ్రమలు కలుగుచున్నవి.

38. Seeing, therefore, all this, we, are plighting our faith, and putting it in writing, and, upon the sealed scroll, are our rulers, our Levites, our priests.
