1. రాజు చేసిన తీర్మానమును చట్టమును నెరవేరు కాలము వచ్చినప్పుడు అదారు అను పండ్రెండవ నెల పదమూడవ దినమున యూదులను జయింపగలుగుదుమని వారి పగవారు నిశ్చయించుకొనిన దినము ననే యూదులు తమ పగవారిమీద అధికారము నొందినట్లు అగుపడెను.

1. On the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, the month of Adar, the king's order came into effect. This was the very day that the enemies of the Jews had planned to overpower them, but the tables were now turned: the Jews overpowered those who hated them!

2. యూదులు రాజైన అహష్వేరోషు యొక్క సంస్థానములన్నిటిలో నుండు పట్టణములయందు తమకు కీడు చేయవలెనని చూచినవారిని హతముచేయుటకు కూడుకొనిరి. వారిని గూర్చి సకల జనులకు భయము కలిగినందున ఎవరును వారి ముందర నిలువలేకపోయిరి.

2. The Jews had gathered in the cities throughout King Xerxes' provinces to lay hands on those who were seeking their ruin. Not one man was able to stand up against them--fear made cowards of them all.

3. మొర్దెకైని గూర్చిన భయముతమకు కలిగినందున సంస్థానములయొక్క అధిపతులును అధి కారులును ప్రభువులును రాజు పని నడిపించువారును యూదులకు సహాయముచేసిరి.

3. What's more, all the government officials, satraps, governors--everyone who worked for the king--actually helped the Jews because of Mordecai; they were afraid of him.

4. మొర్దెకై రాజుయొక్క నగరులో గొప్పవాడాయెను. ఈ మొర్దెకై అనువాడు అంతకంతకు గొప్పవాడగుటచేత అతని కీర్తి సంస్థానము లన్నిటియందు వ్యాపించెను.

4. Mordecai by now was a power in the palace. As Mordecai became more and more powerful, his reputation had grown in all the provinces.

5. యూదులు తమ శత్రువుల నందరిని కత్తివాత హతముచేసి వారిని నాశనముచేసి మనస్సు తీర తమ విరోధులకు చేసిరి.

5. So the Jews finished off all their enemies with the sword, slaughtering them right and left, and did as they pleased to those who hated them.

6. షూషను కోటయందు యూదులు ఐదువందలమందిని చంపి నాశనముచేసిరి.

6. In the palace complex of Susa the Jews massacred five hundred men.

7. హమ్మెదాతా కుమారుడై యూదులకు శత్రువగు హామాను యొక్క పదిమంది కుమారులైన పర్షందాతా

7. They also killed the ten sons of Haman son of Hammedatha, the archenemy of the Jews: Parshandatha, Dalphon, Aspatha

8. దల్పోను అస్పాతా పోరాతా

8. Poratha, Adalia, Aridatha

9. అదల్యా అరీదాతా పర్మష్తా

9. Parmashta, Arisai, Aridai, Vaizatha

10. అరీసై అరీదై వైజాతా అను వారిని చంపిరి; అయితే కొల్ల సొమ్ము వారు పట్టుకొనలేదు.

10. But they took no plunder.

11. ఆ దినమున షూషను కోటయందు చంపబడినవారి లెక్క రాజునకు తెలియ జెప్పగా

11. That day, when it was all over, the number of those killed in the palace complex was given to the king.

12. రాజు రాణియైన ఎస్తేరుతోయూదులు షూషను కోటయందు ఐదువందలమందిని హామానుయొక్క పదిమంది కుమారులను బొత్తిగా నాశనము చేసియున్నారు; రాజుయొక్క కొదువ సంస్థానములలో వారు ఏమిచేసి యుందురో; ఇప్పుడు నీ మనవి ఏమిటి? అది నీకనుగ్ర హింపబడును,నీవు ఇంకను అడుగునదేమి? అది దయచేయ బడునని సెలవియ్యగా

12. The king told Queen Esther, "In the palace complex alone here in Susa the Jews have killed five hundred men, plus Haman's ten sons. Think of the killing that must have been done in the rest of the provinces! What else do you want? Name it and it's yours. Your wish is my command."

13. ఎస్తేరు రాజవైన తమకు సమ్మతమైనయెడల ఈ దినము జరిగిన చొప్పున షూషను నందున్న యూదులు రేపును చేయునట్లుగాను, హామానుయొక్క పదిమంది కుమారులు ఉరికొయ్యమీద ఉరితీయింపబడు నట్లుగాను సెలవియ్యుడనెను.

13. "If it please the king," Queen Esther responded, "give the Jews of Susa permission to extend the terms of the order another day. And have the bodies of Haman's ten sons hanged in public display on the gallows."

14. ఆలాగు చేయవచ్చునని రాజు సెలవిచ్చెను. షూషనులో ఆజ్ఞ ప్రకటింపబడెను; హామాను యొక్క పదిమంది కుమారులు ఉరి తీయింపబడిరి.

14. The king commanded it: The order was extended; the bodies of Haman's ten sons were publicly hanged.

15. షూషనునందున్న యూదులు అదారు మాసమున పదు నాలుగవ దినమందు కూడుకొని, షూషనునందు మూడు వందలమందిని చంపివేసిరి; అయితే వారు కొల్లసొమ్ము పట్టుకొనలేదు.

15. The Jews in Susa went at it again. On the fourteenth day of Adar they killed another three hundred men in Susa. But again they took no plunder.

16. రాజు సంస్థానములయందుండు తక్కిన యూదులు కూడుకొని, తమ ప్రాణములను రక్షించుకొనుటకై పూనుకొని అదారు మాసము పదమూడవ దిన మందు తమ విరోధులలో డెబ్బది యయిదువేల మందిని చంపివేసి, తమ పగవారివలన బాధలేకుండ నెమ్మదిపొందిరి; అయితేవారును కొల్లసొమ్ముపట్టుకొనలేదు.

16. Meanwhile in the rest of the king's provinces, the Jews had organized and defended themselves, freeing themselves from oppression. On the thirteenth day of the month of Adar, they killed 75,000 of those who hated them but did not take any plunder.

17. పదునాలుగవ దినమందును వారు నెమ్మదిపొంది విందుచేసికొనుచు సంతోషముగా నుండిరి.

17. The next day, the fourteenth, they took it easy and celebrated with much food and laughter.

18. షూషనునందున్న యూదులు ఆ మాసమందు పదమూడవ దినమందును పదునాలుగవ దిన మందును కూడుకొని పదునైదవ దినమందు నెమ్మదిపొంది విందుచేసికొనుచు సంతోషముగా నుండిరి.

18. But in Susa, since the Jews had banded together on both the thirteenth and fourteenth days, they made the fifteenth their holiday for laughing and feasting.

19. కాబట్టి ప్రాకారములులేని ఊళ్లలో కాపురమున్న గ్రామవాసులైన యూదులు అదారు మాసము పదునాలుగవ దినమందు సంతోషముగానుండి అది విందుచేయదగిన శుభదినమనుకొని ఒకరికొకరు బహుమానములను పంపించుకొనుచు వచ్చిరి.

19. (This accounts for why Jews living out in the country in the rural villages remember the fourteenth day of Adar for celebration, their day for parties and the exchange of gifts.)

20. మొర్దెకై యీ సంగతులను గూర్చి రాజైన అహష్వే రోషుయొక్క సంస్థానములన్నిటికి సమీపముననేమి దూర ముననేమి నివసించియున్న యూదులకందరికి పత్రికలను పంపి

20. Mordecai wrote all this down and sent copies to all the Jews in all King Xerxes' provinces, regardless of distance,

21. యూదులు తమ పగవారిచేత బాధపడక నెమ్మది పొందిన దినములనియు, వారి దుఃఖము పోయి సంతోషము వచ్చిన నెల అనియు, వారు మూల్గుట మానిన శుభదిన మనియు, ప్రతి సంవత్సరము అదారు నెలయొక్క పదు నాలుగవదినమును పదునైదవ దినమును వారు ఆచరించు కొనుచు

21. calling for an annual celebration on the fourteenth and fifteenth days of Adar

22. విందుచేసికొనుచు సంతోషముగా నుండి ఒకరి కొకరు బహుమానములను, దరిద్రులకు కానుకలను, పంప తగిన దినములనియు వారికి స్థిరపరచెను.

22. as the occasion when Jews got relief from their enemies, the month in which their sorrow turned to joy, mourning somersaulted into a holiday for parties and fun and laughter, the sending and receiving of presents and of giving gifts to the poor.

23. అప్పుడు యూదులు తాము ఆరంభించినదానిని మొర్దెకై తమకు వ్రాసిన ప్రకారముగా నెరవేర్చుదు మని యొప్పుకొనిరి.

23. And they did it. What started then became a tradition, continuing the practice of what Mordecai had written to them.

24. యూదులకు శత్రువగు హమ్మెదాతా కుమారుడైన అగా గీయుడగు హామాను యూదులను సంహరింప దలచి వారిని నాశనపరచి నిర్మూలము చేయవలెనని,పూరు, అనగా చీటి వేయించియుండగా

24. Haman son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, the archenemy of all Jews, had schemed to destroy all Jews. He had cast the pur (the lot) to throw them into a panic and destroy them.

25. ఎస్తేరు, విాజు ఎదుటికి వచ్చిన తరువాత రాజు అతడు యూదులకు విరోధముగా తలపెట్టిన చెడుయోచన తన తలమీదికే వచ్చునట్లుగా చేసి, వాడును వాని కుమారులును ఉరికొయ్యమీద ఉరితీయ బడునట్లుగా ఆజ్ఞ వ్రాయించి ఇచ్చెను.

25. But when Queen Esther intervened with the king, he gave written orders that the evil scheme that Haman had worked out should boomerang back on his own head. He and his sons were hanged on the gallows.

26. కావున ఆ దినములు పూరు అను పేరును బట్టి పూరీము అనబడెను. ఈ ఆజ్ఞలో వ్రాయబడిన మాటలన్నిటినిబట్టియు, ఈ సంగతినిబట్టియు, తాము చూచినదానినంతటినిబట్టియు తమమీదికి వచ్చిన దానిని బట్టియు

26. That's why these days are called "Purim," from the word pur or "lot." Therefore, because of everything written in this letter and because of all that they had been through,

27. యూదులు ఈ రెండు దినములనుగూర్చి వ్రాయబడిన ప్రకారముగా ప్రతి సంవత్సరము వాటి నియామక కాలమునుబట్టి వాటిని ఆచరించెదమనియు, ఈ దినములు తరతరముగా ప్రతి కుటుంబములోను ప్రతి సంస్థానములోను ప్రతి పట్టణములోను జ్ఞాపకము చేయబడునట్లుగా ఆచరించెదమనియు,

27. the Jews agreed to continue. It became a tradition for them, their children, and all future converts to remember these two days every year on the specified dates set down in the letter.

28. పూరీము అను ఈ దినములను యూదులు ఆచరింపకయు, తమ సంతతి వారు వాటిని జ్ఞాపకముంచుకొనకయు మానకుండునట్లు నిర్ణయించుకొని, ఆ సంగతిని మరచి పోకుండునట్లు, తమమీదను, తమ సంతతివారిమీదను, తమతో కలిసికొనిన వారిమీదను ఇది యొక బాధ్యతగా ఉండునని ఒప్పుకొనిరి.

28. These days are to be remembered and kept by every single generation, every last family, every province and city. These days of Purim must never be neglected among the Jews; the memory of them must never die out among their descendants.

29. అప్పుడు పూరీమునుగూర్చి వ్రాయబడిన యీ రెండవ ఆజ్ఞను దృఢపరచుటకు అబీ హాయిలు కుమార్తెయును రాణియునైన ఎస్తేరును యూదుడైన మొర్దెకైయును ఖండితముగా వ్రాయించిరి.

29. Queen Esther, the daughter of Abihail, backed Mordecai the Jew, using her full queenly authority in this second Purim letter

30. మరియు యూదుడైన మొర్దెకైయును రాణియైన ఎస్తేరును యూదు లకు నిర్ణయించిన దానినిబట్టి వారు ఉపవాస విలాపకాలములు ఏర్పరచుకొని, అది తమమీదను తమ వంశపు వారిమీదను ఒక బాధ్యత యని యెంచుకొని వాటిని జరిగించెదమని యొప్పుకొనిన ప్రకారముగా

30. to endorse and ratify what he wrote. Calming and reassuring letters went out to all the Jews throughout the 127 provinces of Xerxes' kingdom

31. ఈ పూరీము అను పండుగదినములను స్థిరపరచుటకు అతడు అహష్వే రోషుయొక్క రాజ్యమందుండు నూట ఇరువదియేడు సంస్థానములలోనున్న యూదులకందరికి వారి క్షేమము కోరునట్టియు, విశ్వాసార్థ్వములగునట్టియు మాటలుగల పత్రికలు పంపెను.

31. to fix these days of Purim their assigned place on the calendar, dates set by Mordecai the Jew--what they had agreed to for themselves and their descendants regarding their fasting and mourning.

32. ఈలాగున ఎస్తేరుయొక్క ఆజ్ఞచేత ఈ పూరీము యొక్క సంగతులు స్థిరమై గ్రంథములో వ్రాయబడెను.

32. Esther's word confirmed the tradition of Purim and was written in the book.
