1. నా బ్రదుకునందు నాకు విసుకు పుట్టినది నేను అడ్డులేకుండ అంగలార్చెదను నా మనోవ్యాకులము కొలది నేను పలికెదను

1. My soul is weary of my life, I will let go my speech against myself, I will speak in the bitterness of my soul.

2. నా మీద నేరము మోపకుండుము నీవేల నాతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడుచున్నావో నాకు తెలియ జేయుమని నేను దేవునితో చెప్పెదను.

2. I will say to God: Do not condemn me: tell me why thou judgest me so.

3. దౌర్జన్యము చేయుట నీకు సంతోషమా? దుష్టుల ఆలోచనమీద దయా దృష్టియుంచుటసంతోషమా? నీ హస్తకృత్యములను తృణీకరించుట నీకు సంతోషమా?

3. Doth it seem good to thee that thou shouldst calumniate me, and oppress me, the work of thy own hands, and help the counsel of the wicked?

4. నీ నేత్రములు నరుల నేత్రములవంటివా? నరులు ఆలోచించునట్లు నీవు ఆలోచించువాడవా?

4. Hast thou eyes of flesh: or, shalt thou see as man seeth?

5. నీ జీవితకాలము నరుల జీవిత కాలమువంటిదా? నీ ఆయుష్కాల సంవత్సరములు నరుల దినములవంటివా?

5. Are thy days as the days of man, and are thy years as the times of men:

6. నేను దోషిని కాననియునీ చేతిలోనుండి విడిపింపగలవాడెవడును లేడనియు నీవు ఎరిగియుండియు

6. That thou shouldst inquire after my iniquity, and search after my sin?

7. నీవేల నా దోషమునుగూర్చి విచారణ చేయుచున్నావు? నా పాపమును ఏల వెదకుచున్నావు?

7. And shouldst know that I have done no wicked thing, whereas there is no man that can deliver out of thy hand.

8. నీ హస్తములు నాకు అవయవ నిర్మాణముచేసి నన్ను రూపించి యున్ననునీవు నన్ను మింగివేయుచున్నావు.

8. Thy hands have made me, and fashioned me wholly round about, and dost thou thus cast me down headlong on a sudden?

9. జిగటమన్నుగానున్న నన్ను నీవు నిర్మించితివి, ఆ సంగతి జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుమునీవు నన్ను మరల మన్నుగా చేయుదువా?

9. Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay, and thou wilt bring me into dust again.

10. ఒకడు పాలుపోసినట్లు నీవు నన్ను పోసితివిగదా జున్నుగడ్డ ఒకడు పేరబెట్టునట్లు నీవు నన్ను పేరబెట్టితివి గదా.

10. Hast thou not milked me as milk, and curdled me like cheese?

11. చర్మముతోను మాంసముతోను నీవు నన్ను కప్పితివి ఎముకలతోను నరములతోను నన్ను సంధించితివి.

11. Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh: thou hast put me together with bones and sinews:

12. జీవము ననుగ్రహించి నాయెడల కృప చూపితివి నీ సంరక్షణచేత నా ఆత్మను కాపాడితివి.

12. Thou hast granted me life and mercy, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

13. అయినను నా లోపములనుగూర్చి నీవు నీ హృదయములో ఆలోచించితివిఈ అభిప్రాయము నీకుండెనని నేనెరుగుదును.

13. Although thou conceal these things in thy heart, yet I know that thou rememberest all things.

14. నేను పాపము చేసినయెడల నీవు దాని కనిపెట్టుదువునా దోషమునకు పరిహారము చేయకుందువు.

14. If I have sinned and thou hast spared me for an hour: why dost thou not suffer me to be clean from my iniquity?

15. నేను దోషకృత్యములు చేసినయెడల నాకు బాధకలుగును నేను నిర్దోషినై యుండినను అతిశయపడను అవమానముతో నిండుకొని నాకు కలిగిన బాధను తలంచుకొనుచుండెదను.

15. And if I be wicked, woe unto me: and if just, I shall not lift up my head, being filled with affliction and misery.

16. ­నేను సంతోషించినయెడల ఎడతెగక నీ ఆశ్చర్యమైన బలమును నీవు నామీద చూపుదువు.

16. And for pride thou wilt take me as a lioness, and returning thou tormentest me wonderfully.

17. సింహము వేటాడునట్లు నీవు నన్ను వేటాడుచుందువుఎడతెగక నామీదికి క్రొత్త సాక్షులను పిలిచెదవు ఎడతెగక నామీద నీ ఉగ్రతను పెంచెదవు ఎడతెగక సమూహము వెనుక సమూహమును నా మీదికి రాజేసెదవు.

17. Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and multipliest thy wrath upon me, and pains war against me.

18. గర్భములోనుండి నీవు నన్నేల వెలికి రప్పించితివి? అప్పుడే యెవరును నన్ను చూడకుండ నేను ప్రాణము విడిచి యుండినయెడల మేలు;

18. Why didst thou bring me forth out of the womb: O that I had been consumed that eye might not see me!

19. అప్పుడు నేను లేనట్లే యుండియుందును గర్భములోనుండి సమాధికి కొనిపోబడియుందును.

19. I should have been as if I had not been, carried from the womb to the grave.

20. నా దినములు కొంచెమే గదాతిరిగి వెలుపలికి రాజాలని దేశమునకు

20. Shall not the fewness of my days be ended shortly? suffer me, therefore, that I may lament my sorrow a little:

21. అంధకారము మరణాంధకారముగల దేశమునకు

21. Before I go, and return no more, to a land that is dark and covered with the mist of death:

22. కటికచీకటియై గాఢాంధకారమయమైన దేశమునకుభ్రమ పుట్టించు మరణాంధకార దేశమునకు వెలుగే చీకటిగాగల దేశమునకు నేను వెళ్లక ముందుకొంతసేపు నేను తెప్పరిల్లునట్లు నన్ను విడిచి నా జోలికి రాకుండుము.

22. A land of misery and darkness, where the shadow of death, and no order, but everlasting horror dwelleth.
