1. అప్పుడు నయమాతీయుడైన జోఫరు ఈలాగున ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను

1. Then Zophar the Naamathite answered:

2. ఆలాగున నీవు చెప్పినందుకు నాయందలి ఆతురతతగిన ప్రత్యుత్తరము సిద్ధపరచియున్నది.

2. 'This is why my troubled thoughts bring me back because of my feelings within me.

3. నాకు అవమానము కలుగజేయు నిందను నేను విన్నందుకు నా మనోవివేకము తగిన ప్రత్యుత్తరము సిద్ధపరచియున్నది.

3. When I hear a reproof that dishonors me, then my understanding prompts me to answer.

4. దుష్టులకు విజయము కొద్దికాలముండును భక్తిహీనులకు సంతోషము ఒక నిమిష మాత్రముండును.

4. 'Surely you know that it has been from old, ever since humankind was placed on the earth,

5. ఆది నుండి నరులు భూమిమీద నుంచబడిన కాలము మొదలుకొని ఈలాగు జరుగుచున్నదని నీకు తెలియదా?

5. that the elation of the wicked is brief, the joy of the godless lasts but a moment.

6. వారి ఘనత ఆకాశమంత యెత్తుగా పెరిగినను మేఘములంత యెత్తుగా వారు తలలెత్తినను

6. Even though his stature reaches to the heavens and his head touches the clouds,

7. తమ మలము నశించురీతిగా వారెన్నటికిని నుండకుండ నశించుదురు. వారిని చూచినవారు వారేమైరని యడుగుదురు.

7. he will perish forever, like his own excrement; those who used to see him will say, 'Where is he?'

8. కల యెగసిపోవునట్లు వారు గతించి కనబడక పోవుదురు రాత్రి స్వప్నము దాటిపోవునట్లు వారు తరిమి వేయబడుదురు.

8. Like a dream he flies away, never again to be found, and like a vision of the night he is put to flight.

9. వారిని చూచిన కన్ను ఇకను వారిని చూడదు వారి స్థలమున వారు మరి ఎప్పుడును కనబడరు

9. People who had seen him will not see him again, and the place where he was will recognize him no longer.

10. వారి సంతతివారు దరిద్రుల దయను వెదకెదరు వారి చేతులు వారి ఆస్తిని తిరిగి అప్పగించును.

10. His sons must recompense the poor; his own hands must return his wealth.

11. వారి యెముకలలో ¸యౌవనబలము నిండియుండును గాని అదియు వారితో కూడ మంటిలో పండుకొనును.

11. His bones were full of his youthful vigor, but that vigor will lie down with him in the dust.

12. చెడుతనము వారి నోటికి తియ్యగా నుండెనువారు నాలుకక్రింద దాని దాచిపెట్టిరి.

12. 'If evil is sweet in his mouth and he hides it under his tongue,

13. దాని పోనియ్యక భద్రము చేసికొనిరి, నోట దానినుంచుకొనిరి.

13. if he retains it for himself and does not let it go, and holds it fast in his mouth,

14. అయినను వారి కడుపులో వారి ఆహారము పులిసిపోవును అది వారిలోపట నాగుపాముల విషమగును.

14. his food is turned sour in his stomach; it becomes the venom of serpents within him.

15. వారు ధనమును మింగివేసిరి గాని యిప్పుడు దానిని మరల కక్కివేయుదురు.

15. The wealth that he consumed he vomits up, God will make him throw it out of his stomach.

16. వారి కడుపులోనుండి దేవుడు దాని కక్కించును. వారు కట్లపాముల విషమును పీల్చుదురు నాగుపాము నాలుక వారిని చంపును.

16. He sucks the poison of serpents; the fangs of a viper kill him.

17. ఏరులై పారుచున్న తేనెను వెన్నపూసను చూచివారు సంతోషింపరు.

17. He will not look on the streams, the rivers, which are the torrents of honey and butter.

18. దేని కొరకు వారు ప్రయాసపడి సంపాదించియుండిరో దానిని వారు అనుభవింపక మరల అప్పగించెదరు వారు సంపాదించిన ఆస్తికొలది వారికి సంతోషముండదు

18. He gives back the ill-gotten gain without assimilating it; he will not enjoy the wealth from his commerce.

19. వారు బీదలను ముంచి విడిచిపెట్టినవారు వారు బలాత్కారముచేత ఒక యింటిని ఆక్రమించుకొనినను దానిని కట్టి పూర్తిచేయరు.

19. For he has oppressed the poor and abandoned them; he has seized a house which he did not build.

20. వారు ఎడతెగక ఆశించిన వారు తమ యిష్టవస్తువులలో ఒకదాని చేతనైనను తమ్మును తాము రక్షించుకొనజాలరు.

20. For he knows no satisfaction in his appetite; he does not let anything he desires escape.

21. వారు మింగివేయనిది ఒకటియు లేదు గనుక వారిక్షేమస్థితి నిలువదు.

21. 'Nothing is left for him to devour; that is why his prosperity does not last.

22. వారికి సంపాద్యము పూర్ణముగా కలిగిన సమయమున వారు ఇబ్బందిపడుదురు దురవస్థలోనుండు వారందరి చెయ్యి వారిమీదికివచ్చును.

22. In the fullness of his sufficiency, distress overtakes him. the full force of misery will come upon him.

23. వారు కడుపు నింపుకొననైయుండగా దేవుడు వారిమీద తన కోపాగ్ని కురిపించును వారు తినుచుండగా దాని కురిపించును.

23. 'While he is filling his belly, God sends his burning anger against him, and rains down his blows upon him.

24. ఇనుప ఆయుధము తప్పించుకొనుటకై వారు పారిపోగా ఇత్తడివిల్లు వారి దేహములగుండ బాణములను పోవిడు చును.

24. If he flees from an iron weapon, then an arrow from a bronze bow pierces him.

25. అది దేహమును చీల్చి వారి శరీరములోనుండి వచ్చును అది బయట తీయగా వారి శరీరములోనుండి పైత్యపు తిత్తి వచ్చును, మరణభయము వారి మీదికి వచ్చును.

25. When he pulls it out and it comes out of his back, the gleaming point out of his liver, terrors come over him.

26. వారి ధననిధులు అంధకారపూర్ణములగును ఊదనక్కరలేని అగ్ని వారిని మింగివేయును వారి గుడారములో మిగిలిన దానిని అది కాల్చివేయును.

26. Total darkness waits to receive his treasures; a fire which has not been kindled will consume him and devour what is left in his tent.

27. ఆకాశము వారి దోషమును బయలుపరచును భూమి వారిమీదికి లేచును.

27. The heavens reveal his iniquity; the earth rises up against him.

28. వారి యింటికి వచ్చిన ఆర్జన కనబడకపోవును దేవుని కోపదినమున వారి ఆస్తి నాశనమగును.

28. A flood will carry off his house, rushing waters on the day of God's wrath.

29. ఇది దేవుని వలన దుష్టులైన నరులకు ప్రాప్తించుభాగము దేవునివలన వారికి నియమింపబడిన స్వాస్థ్యము ఇదే.

29. Such is the lot God allots the wicked, and the heritage of his appointment from God.'
