1. అప్పుడు తేమానీయుడైన ఎలీఫజు ఈలాగున ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను

1. Then responded Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:

2. నరులు దేవునికి ప్రయోజనకారులగుదురా? కారు;బుద్ధిమంతులు తమమట్టుకు తామే ప్రయోజనకారులై యున్నారు

2. Unto GOD, can a man act as friend? Surely a discreet man befriendeth himself!

3. నీవు నీతిమంతుడవై యుండుట సర్వశక్తుడగు దేవునికి సంతోషమా?నీవు యథార్థవంతుడవై ప్రవర్తించుట ఆయనకు లాభకరమా?

3. Is it a pleasure to the Almighty, that thou shouldst be righteous? or any profit, that thou shouldst be blameless in thy ways?

4. ఆయనయందు భయభక్తులు కలిగియున్నందున ఆయన నిన్ను గద్దించునా? నీ భయభక్తులనుబట్టి ఆయన నీతో వ్యాజ్యెమాడునా?

4. Is it, for thy reverence, that he will accuse thee? will enter with thee into judgment?

5. నీ చెడుతనము గొప్పది కాదా?నీ దోషములు మితిలేనివి కావా?

5. Is not, thy wickedness, great? and, without end, are not thine iniquities?

6. ఏమియు ఇయ్యకయే నీ సోదరులయొద్ద నీవు తాకట్టు పుచ్చుకొంటివి వస్త్రహీనుల బట్టలను తీసికొంటివి

6. Surely then hast been wont to put thy brother in pledge, for nothing, and, the garments of the ill-clad, hast thou stripped off:

7. దప్పిచేత ఆయాసపడినవారికి నీళ్లియ్యవైతివి ఆకలిగొనినవానికి అన్నము పెట్టకపోతివి.

7. No water to the weary, hast thou given to drink, and, from the hungry, thou hast withheld broad:

8. బాహుబలముగల మనుష్యునికే భూమి ప్రాప్తించును ఘనుడని యెంచబడినవాడు దానిలో నివసించును.

8. A man of might, to him, pertaineth the land, and, the favorite, dwelleth therein:

9. విధవరాండ్రను వట్టిచేతులతో పంపివేసితివి తండ్రిలేనివారి చేతులు విరుగగొట్టితివి.

9. Widows, thou hast sent away empty, and, the arms of the fatherless, thou dost crush.

10. కావుననే బోనులు నిన్ను చుట్టుకొనుచున్నవి ఆకస్మిక భయము నిన్ను బెదరించుచున్నది.

10. For this cause, round about thee, are snares, and a dread startleth thee suddenly;

11. నిన్ను చిక్కించుకొన్న అంధకారమును నీవు చూచుట లేదా?నిన్ను ముంచబోవు ప్రళయజలములను నీవు చూచుట లేదా?

11. Or darkness thou canst not see, and, a flood of waters, covereth thee.

12. దేవుడు ఆకాశమంత మహోన్నతుడు కాడా?నక్షత్రముల ఔన్నత్యమును చూడుము అవి ఎంతపైగా నున్నవి?

12. Is not, GOD, in the height of the heavens? Behold, then, the head of the stars, that they are high.

13. దేవునికి ఏమి తెలియును?గాఢాంధకారములోనుండి ఆయన న్యాయము కనుగొనునా?

13. Wilt thou say then, What doth GOD know? Out through a thick cloud, can he judge?

14. గాఢమైన మేఘములు ఆయనకు చాటుగా నున్నవి, ఆయన చూడలేదుఆకాశములో ఆయన తిరుగుచున్నాడు అని నీవనుకొనుచున్నావు.

14. Dark clouds, are a veil to him, and he cannot see, or, the vault of the heavens, doth he walk?

15. పూర్వమునుండి దుష్టులు అనుసరించిన మార్గమును నీవు అనుసరించెదవా?

15. The path of the ancient time, wilt thou mark, which the men of iniquity trod?

16. వారు అకాలముగా ఒక నిమిషములో నిర్మూలమైరివారి పునాదులు జలప్రవాహమువలె కొట్టుకొని పోయెను.

16. Who were snatched away before the time, and, a stream, washed away their foundation?

17. ఆయన మంచి పదార్థములతో వారి యిండ్లను నింపినను

17. Who had been saying unto GOD, Depart from us! and What can the Almighty do for himself?

18. మాయొద్ద నుండి తొలగిపొమ్మనియు సర్వశక్తుడగు దేవుడు మాకు ఏమి చేయుననియు వారు దేవునితో అందురు. భక్తిహీనుల ఆలోచన నాకు దూరమై యుండునుగాక.

18. Yet, he, had filled their houses with good! The counsel of the lawless, then, is far from me:

19. మన విరోధులు నిశ్చయముగా నిర్మూలమైరనియు వారి సంపదను అగ్ని కాల్చివేసెననియు పలుకుచు

19. The righteous shall see and rejoice, and, the innocent, shall laugh them to scorn:

20. నీతిమంతులు దాని చూచి సంతోషించుదురు నిర్దోషులు వారిని హేళన చేయుదురు.

20. If our assailants do not vanish, then, their abundance, a fire consumeth!

21. ఆయనతో సహవాసము చేసినయెడల నీకు సమాధానము కలుగునుఆలాగున నీకు మేలు కలుగును.

21. Shew thyself to be one with him I pray thee and prosper, thereby, shall there come on thee blessing.

22. ఆయన నోటి ఉపదేశమును అవలంబించుము ఆయన మాటలను నీ హృదయములో ఉంచుకొనుము.

22. Accept, I beseech thee, from his mouth instruction, and lay up his sayings in thy heart.

23. సర్వశక్తునివైపు నీవు తిరిగినయెడలనీ గుడారములలో నుండి దుర్మార్గమును దూరముగా తొలగించినయెడల నీవు అభివృద్ధి పొందెదవు.

23. If thou return unto the Almighty and submit thyself, if thou far remove perversity from thy tent,

24. మంటిలో నీ బంగారమును ఏటిరాళ్లలో ఓఫీరు సువర్ణమును పారవేయుము

24. Then lay up, in the dust, precious ore, and, among the stones of the torrent-beds, fine gold:

25. అప్పుడు సర్వశక్తుడు నీకు అపరంజిగాను ప్రశస్తమైన వెండిగాను ఉండును.

25. So shall, the Almighty, become, thy precious ores, yea glittering silver unto thee!

26. అప్పుడు సర్వశక్తునియందు నీవు ఆనందించెదవుదేవునితట్టు నీ ముఖము ఎత్తెదవు.

26. For, then, in the Almighty, shalt thou take exquisite delight, and shalt lift up unto GOD thy face;

27. నీవు ఆయనకు ప్రార్థనచేయగాఆయన నీ మనవి నాలకించునునీ మ్రొక్కుబళ్లు నీవు చెల్లించెదవు.

27. Thou shalt make entreaty unto him, and he will hear thee, and, thy vows, shalt thou pay;

28. మరియు నీవు దేనినైన యోచనచేయగా అది నీకుస్థిరపరచబడునునీ మార్గములమీద వెలుగు ప్రకాశించును.

28. And thou shalt decree a purpose, and it shall be fulfilled unto thee, and, upon thy ways, shall have shone a light;

29. నీవు పడద్రోయబడినప్పుడుమీదు చూచెదనందువువినయముగలవానిని ఆయన రక్షించును.
మత్తయి 23:12, 1 పేతురు 5:6

29. When men cast themselves down, then thou shalt say: Up! And, him that is of downcast eyes, shall he save;

30. నిర్దోషికానివానినైనను ఆయన విడిపించును. అతడు నీ చేతుల శుద్ధివలన విడిపింపబడును.

30. He shall deliver the innocent, and thou shalt escape by the pureness of thy hands.
