1. తరువాత మోషే అహరోనులు వచ్చి ఫరోను చూచి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా అరణ్యములో నాకు ఉత్సవము చేయుటకు నా జనమును పోనిమ్మని ఆజ్ఞాపించుచున్నాడనిరి.

1. Moses and Aaron went to the king of Egypt and told him, 'The LORD God says, 'Let my people go into the desert, so they can honor me with a celebration there.' '

2. ఫరో నేను అతని మాట విని ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను పోనిచ్చుటకు యెహోవా ఎవడు? నేను యెహోవాను ఎరుగను, ఇశ్రాయేలీయులను పోనీయననెను.

2. Who is this LORD and why should I obey him?' the king replied. 'I refuse to let you and your people go!'

3. అప్పుడు వారు హెబ్రీయుల దేవుడు మమ్మును ఎదుర్కొనెను, సెలవైన యెడల మేము అరణ్యములోనికి మూడు దినముల ప్రయాణమంత దూరముపోయి మా దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు బలి అర్పించుదము; లేని యెడల ఆయన మా మీద తెగులుతోనునైనను ఖడ్గముతోనైనను పడునేమో అనిరి.

3. They answered, 'The LORD God of the Hebrews, has appeared to us. Please let us walk three days into the desert where we can offer sacrifices to him. If you don't, he may strike us down with terrible troubles or with war.'

4. అందుకు ఐగుప్తు రాజుమోషే అహరోనూ, ఈ జనులు తమ పనులను చేయకుండ మీరేల ఆపుచున్నారు? మీ బరువులు మోయుటకు పొండనెను.

4. The king said, 'Moses and Aaron, why are you keeping these people from working? Look how many you are keeping from doing their work. Now everyone get back to work!'

5. మరియు ఫరో ఇదిగో ఈ జనము ఇప్పుడు విస్తరించియున్నది; వారు తమ బరువులను విడిచి తీరికగా నుండునట్లు మీరు చేయుచున్నారని వారితో అనెను.

6. ఆ దినమున ఫరో ప్రజలపైనున్న కార్యనియామకులకును వారి నాయకులకును ఇట్లు ఆజ్ఞాపించెను

6. That same day the king gave orders to his slave bosses and to the men directly in charge of the Israelite slaves. He told them:

7. ఇటుకలు చేయుటకు మీరు ఇకమీదట ఈ జనులకు గడ్డి ఇయ్యకూడదు, వారు వెళ్లి తామే గడ్డి కూర్చుకొనవలెను.

7. Don't give the slaves any more straw to put in their bricks. Force them to find their own straw wherever they can,

8. అయినను వారు ఇదివరకు చేసిన యిటుకల లెక్కనే వారి మీద మోపవలెను, దానిలో ఏమాత్రమును తక్కువ చేయవద్దు; వారు సోమరులు గనుక మేము వెళ్లి మా దేవునికి బలి నర్పించుటకు సెలవిమ్మని మొఱ పెట్టుచున్నారు.

8. but they must make the same number of bricks as before. They are lazy, or else they would not beg me to let them go and sacrifice to their God.

9. ఆ మనుష్యులచేత ఎక్కువ పని చేయింపవలెను, దానిలో వారు కష్టపడవలెను, అబద్ధపు మాటలను వారు లక్ష్యపెట్టకూడదనెను.

9. Make them work so hard that they won't have time to listen to these lies.

10. కాబట్టి ప్రజలు కార్యనియామకులును వారి నాయకులును పోయి ప్రజలను చూచి నేను మీకు గడ్డి ఇయ్యను;

10. The slave bosses and the men in charge of the slaves went out and told them, 'The king says he will not give you any more straw.

11. మీరు వెళ్లి మీకు గడ్డి యెక్కడ దొరకునో అక్కడ మీరే సంపాదించుకొనుడి, అయితే మీ పనిలో నేమాత్రమును తక్కువ చేయబడదని ఫరో సెలవిచ్చెననిరి.

11. Go and find your own straw wherever you can, but you must still make as many bricks as before.'

12. అప్పుడు ప్రజలు గడ్డికి మారుగా కొయ్య కాలు కూర్చుటకు ఐగుప్తు దేశమందంతటను చెదిరిపోయిరి.

12. The slaves went all over Egypt, looking for straw.

13. మరియు కార్యనియామకులు వారిని త్వరపెట్టి గడ్డి ఉన్నప్పటివలెనే యేనాటిపని ఆనాడే ముగించుడనిరి.

13. But the slave bosses were hard on them and kept saying, 'Each day you have to make as many bricks as you did when you were given straw.'

14. ఫరో కార్యనియామకులు తాము ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో వారిమీద ఉంచిన నాయకులను కొట్టి ఎప్పటివలె మీ లెక్క చొప్పున ఇటుకలను నిన్న నేడు మీరు ఏల చేయించలేదని అడుగగా

14. The bosses beat the men in charge of the slaves and said, 'Why didn't you force the slaves to make as many bricks yesterday and today as they did before?'

15. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల నాయకులు ఫరో యొద్దకు వచ్చి తమ దాసుల యెడల తమరెందుకిట్లు జరిగించుచున్నారు?

15. Finally, the men in charge of the slaves went to the king and said, 'Why are you treating us like this?

16. తమ దాసులకు గడ్డినియ్యరు అయితే ఇటుకలు చేయుడని మాతో చెప్పుచున్నారు; చిత్తగించుము, వారు తమరి దాసులను కొట్టుచున్నారు; అయితే తప్పిదము తమరి ప్రజలయందే యున్నదని మొఱపెట్టిరి.

16. No one brings us any straw, but we are still ordered to make the same number of bricks. We are beaten with whips, and your own people are to blame.'

17. అందుకతడు - మీరు సోమరులు మీరు సోమరులు అందుచేత మేము వెళ్లి యెహోవాకు బలినర్పించుటకు సెలవిమ్మని మీరడుగుచున్నారు.

17. The king replied, 'You are lazy--nothing but lazy! That's why you keep asking me to let you go and sacrifice to your LORD.

18. మీరు పొండి, పనిచేయుడి, గడ్డి మీకియ్యబడదు, అయితే ఇటుకల లెక్క మీరప్పగింపక తప్పదని చెప్పెను.

18. Get back to work! You won't be given straw, but you must still make the same number of bricks.'

19. మీ ఇటుకల లెక్కలో నేమాత్రమును తక్కువ చేయవద్దు, ఏనాటి పని ఆనాడే చేయవలెనని రాజు సెలవియ్యగా, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల నాయకులు తాము దురవస్థలో పడియున్నట్లు తెలిసికొనిరి.

19. The men knew they were in deep trouble when they were ordered to make the same number of bricks each day.

20. వారు ఫరో యొద్దనుండి బయలుదేరి వచ్చుచు, తమ్మును ఎదుర్కొనుటకు దారిలో నిలిచియున్న మోషే అహరోనులను కలిసికొని

20. After they left the king, they went to see Moses and Aaron, who had been waiting for them.

21. యెహోవా మిమ్ము చూచి న్యాయము తీర్చును గాక; ఫరో యెదుటను అతని దాసుల యెదుటను మమ్మును అసహ్యులనుగా చేసి మమ్ము చంపుటకై వారిచేతికి ఖడ్గమిచ్చితిరని వారితో అనగా

21. Then the men said, 'We hope the LORD will punish both of you for making the king and his officials hate us. Now they even have an excuse to kill us.'

22. మోషే యెహోవా యొద్దకు తిరిగి వెళ్లి ప్రభువా, నీవేల ఈ ప్రజలకు కీడు చేసితివి? నన్నేల పంపితివి?

22. Moses left them and prayed, 'Our LORD, why have you brought so much trouble on your people? Is that why you sent me here?

23. నేను నీ పేరట మాటలాడుటకు ఫరో యొద్దకు వచ్చినప్పటి నుండి అతడు ఈ జనులకు కీడే చేయుచున్నాడు, నీ జనులను నీవు విడిపింపను లేదనెను.

23. Ever since you told me to speak to the king, he has caused nothing but trouble for these people. And you haven't done a thing to help.'
