1. ఇవియును సొలొమోను సామెతలే యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియా సేవకులు వీటిని ఎత్తి వ్రాసిరి.

1. He who being often reproved hardens his neck Will suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

2. సంగతి మరుగుచేయుట దేవునికి ఘనత సంగతి శోధించుట రాజులకు ఘనత.

2. When the righteous have increased, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man bears rule, the people sigh.

3. ఆకాశముల యెత్తును భూమి లోతును రాజుల అభిప్రాయమును అగోచరములు.

3. Whoever loves wisdom rejoices his father; But he who is a shepherd of prostitutes wastes [his] substance.

4. వెండిలోని మష్టు తీసివేసినయెడల పుటము వేయువాడు పాత్రయొకటి సిద్ధపరచును.

4. The king by justice establishes the land; But he who exacts gifts overthrows it.

5. రాజు ఎదుటనుండి దుష్టులను తొలగించినయెడల అతని సింహాసనము నీతివలన స్థిరపరచబడును.

5. A [noble] man who flatters his fellow man Spreads a net for his steps.

6. రాజు ఎదుట డంబము చూపకుము గొప్పవారున్న చోట నిలువకుము.

6. In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare; But the righteous sings and rejoices.

7. నీ కన్నులు చూచిన ప్రధానియెదుట ఒకడు నిన్ను తగ్గించుటకంటె ఇక్కడికి ఎక్కి రమ్మని అతడు నీతో చెప్పుట నీకు మేలు గదా.

7. The righteous takes knowledge of the cause of the poor; The wicked does not have understanding to know [it].

8. ఆలోచన లేక వ్యాజ్యెమాడుటకు పోకుము నీ పొరుగువాడు నిన్ను అవమానపరచిదాని అంత మున ఇక నీవేమి చేయుదువని నీతో అనునేమో.

8. Scoffers set a city in a flame; But wise men turn away wrath.

9. నీ పొరుగువానితో నీవు వ్యాజ్యెమాడవచ్చును గాని పరునిగుట్టు బయటపెట్టకుము.

9. If a wise man has a controversy with a foolish man, Whether he is angry or laughs, there will be no rest.

10. బయటపెట్టినయెడల వినువాడు నిన్ను అవమానపరచు నేమో అందువలన నీకు కలిగిన అపకీర్తి యెన్నటికిని పోకుండును.

10. The bloodthirsty hate him who is perfect; And as for the upright, they seek his life.

11. సమయోచితముగా పలుకబడిన మాట చిత్రమైన వెండి పళ్లెములలో నుంచబడిన బంగారు పండ్లవంటిది.

11. A fool utters all his anger; But a wise man keeps it back and stills it.

12. బంగారు కర్ణభూషణమెట్టిదో అపరంజి ఆభరణ మెట్టిదో వినువాని చెవికి జ్ఞానముగల ఉపదేశకుడు అట్టివాడు.

12. If a ruler harkens to falsehood, All his ministers are wicked.

13. నమ్మకమైన దూత తనను పంపువారికి కోతకాలపు మంచు చల్లదనమువంటివాడు వాడు తన యజమానుల హృదయమును తెప్పరిల్ల జేయును.

13. The poor man and the oppressor meet together; Yahweh lightens the eyes of them both.

14. కపటమనస్సుతో దానమిచ్చి డంబము చేయువాడు వర్షములేని మబ్బును గాలిని పోలియున్నాడు.

14. The king who faithfully judges the poor, His throne will be established forever.

15. దీర్ఘశాంతముచేత న్యాయాధిపతిని ఒప్పించ వచ్చును సాత్వికమైన నాలుక యెముకలను నలుగగొట్టును.

15. The rod and reproof give wisdom; But a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

16. తేనె కనుగొంటివా? తగినంతమట్టుకే త్రాగుము అధికముగా త్రాగినయెడల కక్కి వేయుదువేమో

16. When the wicked are increased, transgression increases; But the righteous will look at their fall.

17. మాటిమాటికి నీ పొరుగువాని యింటికి వెళ్లకుము అతడు నీవలన విసికి నిన్ను ద్వేషించునేమో.

17. Correct your son, and he will give you rest; Yes, he will give delight to your soul.

18. తన పొరుగువానిమీద కూటసాక్ష్యము పలుకువాడు సమ్మెటను ఖడ్గమును వాడిగల అంబును పోలినవాడు.

18. Where there is no vision, the people go wild; But he who keeps the law, he is happy.

19. శ్రమకాలములో విశ్వాసఘాతకుని ఆశ్రయించుట విరిగిన పళ్లతోను కీలు వసిలిన కాలుతోను సమానము.

19. A slave will not be corrected by words; For though he understands, he will not give heed.

20. దుఃఖచిత్తునికి పాటలు వినుపించువాడు చలిదినమున పైబట్ట తీసివేయువానితోను సురేకారముమీద చిరకపోయువానితోను సమానుడు.

20. Do you see a man who is in a hurry in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him.

21. నీ పగవాడు ఆకలిగొనినయెడల వానికి భోజనము పెట్టుము దప్పిగొనినయెడల వానికి దాహమిమ్ము

21. He who delicately brings up his slave from a child Will have him become a son at the last.

22. అట్లు చేయుటచేత వాని తలమీద నిప్పులు కుప్పగా పోయుదువు యెహోవా అందుకు నీకు ప్రతిఫలమిచ్చును.

22. An angry man stirs up strife, And a wrathful man abounds in transgression.

23. ఉత్తరపు గాలి వాన పుట్టించును కొండెగాని నాలుక కోపదృష్టి కలిగించును.

23. The pride of man will bring him low; But he who is of a lowly spirit will obtain honor.

24. గయ్యాళితో పెద్ద యింట నుండుటకంటె మిద్దెమీద నొక మూలను నివసించుట మేలు

24. Whoever shares with a thief hates his own soul; He hears the adjuration and utters nothing.

25. దప్పిగొనినవానికి చల్లని నీరు ఎట్లుండునో దూరదేశమునుండి వచ్చిన శుభసమాచారము అట్లుండును.

25. The fear of man brings a snare; But whoever puts his trust in Yahweh will be safe.

26. కలకలు చేయబడిన ఊటయు చెడిపోయిన బుగ్గయు నీతిమంతుడు దుష్టునికి లోబడుటయు సమానములు.

26. Many seek the ruler's favor; But a man's judgment [comes] from Yahweh.

27. తేనె నధికముగా త్రాగుట మంచిది కాదు. దుర్లభమైన సంగతి పరిశీలన చేయుట ఘనతకు కారణము.

27. An unjust man is disgusting to the righteous; And he who is upright in the way is disgusting to the wicked.
