1. హిజ్కియా రాజుయొక్క పదునాలుగవ సంవత్సర మున అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు యూదా దేశములోని ప్రాకారముగల పట్టణములన్నిటిమీదికి వచ్చి వాటిని పట్టుకొనెను.

1. Nowe in the fourteenth yeere of King Hezekiah, Saneherib King of Asshur came vp against al the strong cities of Iudah, and tooke them.

2. అంతట అష్షూరు రాజు రబ్షాకేను లాకీషు పట్టణమునుండి యెరూషలేమునందున్న రాజైనహిజ్కియా మీదికి బహు గొప్ప సేనతో పంపెను. వారు చాకి రేవు మార్గమందున్న మెరకకొలను కాలువయొద్ద ప్రవేశింపగా

2. And the King of Asshur sent Rabshakeh from Lachish toward Ierusalem vnto King Hezekiah, with a great hoste, and he stood by ye conduite of the vpper poole in the path of the fullers fielde.

3. హిల్కీయా కూమారుడును రాజు గృహనిర్వాహ కుడును నైన ఎల్యాకీమును శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాయును, రాజ్యపు దస్తావేజులమీదనున్న ఆసాపు కుమారుడగు యోవాహును వారియొద్దకు పోయిరి.

3. Then came foorth vnto him Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah the steward of the house, and Shebna the chanceler, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder.

4. అప్పుడు రబ్షాకే వారితో ఇట్లనెనుఈ మాట హిజ్కియాతో తెలియ జెప్పుడిమహారాజైన అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగా నీవీలాగు చెప్పవలెను. నీవు నమ్ముకొను ఈ ఆశ్రయాస్పదుడు ఏపాటి ప్రయోజనకారి?

4. And Rabshakeh sayde vnto them, Tell you Hezekiah, I pray you, Thus sayth the great King, the King of Asshur, What confidence is this, wherein thou trustest?

5. యుద్ధవిషయములో నీ యోచనయు నీ బలమును వట్టిమాటలే. ఎవని నమ్ముకొని నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేయుచున్నావు?

5. I say, Surely I haue eloquence, but counsell and strength are for the warre: on whom then doest thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?

6. నలిగిన రెల్లువంటి యీ ఐగుప్తును నీవు నమ్ముకొనుచున్నావు గదా; ఒకడు దానిమీద ఆనుకొన్నయెడల అది వాని చేతికి గుచ్చుకొని దూసిపోవును. ఐగుప్తురాజైన ఫరో అతని నమ్ముకొనువారికందరికి అట్టివాడే.

6. Loe, thou trustest in this broken staffe of reede on Egypt, whereupon if a man leane, it will goe into his hand, and pearce it: so is Pharaoh King of Egypt, vnto all that trust in him.

7. మా దేవుడైన యెహోవాను మేము నమ్ముకొనుచున్నామని మీరు నాతో చెప్పెదరేమో సరే; యెరూషలేమందున్న యీ బలిపీఠము నొద్ద మాత్రమే మీరు నమస్కారము చేయవలెనని యూదావారికిని యెరూషలేమువారికిని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి, హిజ్కియా యెవని ఉన్నత స్థలములను బలిపీఠములను పడగొట్టెనో ఆయనేగదా యెహోవా.

7. But if thou say to me, We trust in the Lord our God. Is not that he, whose hie places and whose altars Hezekiah tooke downe, and said to Iudah and to Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?

8. కావున చిత్తగించి అష్షూరు రాజైన నా యేలినవానితో పందెము వేయుము; రెండు వేల గుఱ్ఱములమీద రౌతులను ఎక్కించుటకు నీకు శక్తి యున్నయెడల నేను వాటిని నీకిచ్చెదను.

8. Nowe therefore giue hostages to my lorde the King of Asshur, and I wil giue thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders vpon them.

9. లేనియెడల నా యజమానుని సేవకులలో అత్యల్పుడైన అధిపతియగు ఒకని నీవేలాగు ఎదిరింతువు? రథములను రౌతులను పంపునని ఐగుప్తురాజును నీవు ఆశ్రయించు కొంటివే.

9. For howe canst thou despise any captaine of the least of my lordes seruants? and put thy trust on Egypt for charets and for horsemen?

10. యెహోవా సెలవు నొందకయే యీ దేశమును పాడుచేయుటకు నేను వచ్చితినా? లేదు ఆ దేశముమీదికి పోయి దాని పాడుచేయుమని యెహోవా నాకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను అని చెప్పెను.

10. And am I now come vp without the Lord to this land to destroy it? The Lord sayd vnto me, Goe vp against this land and destroy it.

11. ఎల్యాకీము షెబ్నా యోవాహు అను వారుచిత్తగించుము నీ దాసులమైన మాకు సిరియా భాష తెలియును గనుక దానితో మాట లాడుము, ప్రాకారముమీదనున్న ప్రజల వినికిడిలో యూదుల భాషతో మాటలాడకుమని రబ్షాకేతో అనగా

11. Then sayd Eliakim and Shebna and Ioah vnto Rabshakeh, Speake, I pray thee, to thy seruants in the Aramites language, (for we vnderstand it) and talke not with vs in the Iewes tongue, in the audience of the people that are on the wall.

12. రబ్షాకేఈ మాటలు చెప్పుటకై నా యజమానుడు నీ యజమానునియొద్దకును నీయొద్దకును నన్ను పంపెనా? తమ మలమును తినునట్లును తమ మూత్రమును త్రాగునట్లును మీతోకూడ ప్రాకారముమీద ఉన్న వారియొద్దకును నన్ను పంపెను గదా అని చెప్పి

12. Then said Rabshakeh, Hath my master sent me to thy master, and to thee to speake these wordes, and not to the men that sit on the wall? that they may eate their owne doung, and drinke their owne pisse with you?

13. గొప్ప శబ్దముతో యూదాభాషతో ఇట్లనెనుమహారాజైన అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చిన మాటలు వినుడి. రాజు సెల విచ్చునదేమనగా

13. So Rabshakeh stood, and cryed with a loude voyce in the Iewes language, and sayd, Heare the wordes of the great King, of the King of Asshur.

14. హిజ్కియాచేత మోసపోకుడి; మిమ్మును విడిపింప శక్తి వానికి చాలదు.

14. Thus saith the King, Let not Hezekiah deceiue you: for he shall not be able to deliuer you.

15. యెహోవాను బట్టి మిమ్మును నమ్మించియెహోవా మనలను విడిపించును; ఈ పట్టణము అష్షూరు రాజు చేతిలో చిక్కక పోవునని హిజ్కియా చెప్పుచున్నాడే.

15. Neither let Hezekiah make you to trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliuer vs: this citie shall not be giuen ouer into the hand of the King of Asshur.

16. హిజ్కియా చెప్పిన మాట మీరంగీకరింపవలదు; అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగా నాతో సంధి చేసికొని నాయొద్దకు మీరు బయటికి వచ్చినయెడల మీలో ప్రతి మనిషి తన ద్రాక్ష చెట్టు ఫలమును తన అంజూరపు చెట్టు ఫలమును తినుచు తన బావి నీళ్లు త్రాగుచు నుండును.

16. Hearken not to Hezekiah: for thus sayth the King of Asshur, Make appointment with me, and come out to me, that euery man may eate of his owne vine, and euery man of his owne fig tree, and drinke euery man the water of his owne well,

17. అటుపిమ్మట మీరు చావక బ్రదుకునట్లుగా నేను వచ్చి మీ దేశమువంటి దేశమునకు, అనగా గోధుమలును ద్రాక్షారసమును గల దేశమునకును ఆహారమును ద్రాక్షచెట్లునుగల దేశమునకును మిమ్మును తీసికొని పోదును; యెహోవా మిమ్మును విడిపించునని చెప్పి హిజ్కియా మిమ్మును మోసపుచ్చు చున్నాడు.

17. Till I come and bring you to a land like your owne land, euen a land of wheate, and wine, a land of bread and vineyardes,

18. ఆయా జనముల దేవతలలో ఏదైనను తన దేశమును అష్షూరు రాజు చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించెనా? హమాతు దేవతలేమాయెను?

18. Least Hezekiah deceiue you, saying, The Lord wil deliuer vs. Hath any of the gods of the nations deliuered his land out of the hand of the King of Asshur?

19. అర్పాదు దేవతలేమాయెను? సెపర్వయీము దేవతలేమాయెను? షోమ్రోను దేశపు దేవత నా చేతిలోనుండి షోమ్రోనును విడిపించెనా?

19. Where is the god of Hamath, and of Arpad? where is the god of Sepharuaim? or howe haue they deliuered Samaria out of mine hand?

20. యెహోవా నా చేతిలో నుండి యెరూషలేమును విడిపించుననుటకు ఈ దేశముల దేవతలలో ఏదైనను తన దేశమును నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించినది కలదా? అని చెప్పెను.

20. Who is hee among all the gods of these lands, that hath deliuered their countrey out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliuer Ierusalem out of mine hand?

21. అయితే అతనికి ప్రత్యుత్తర మియ్యవద్దని రాజు సెలవిచ్చి యుండుటచేత వారెంతమాత్రమును ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యక ఊరకొనిరి.

21. Then they kept silence, and answered him not a worde: for the Kings commandement was, saying, Answere him not.

22. గృహనిర్వాహకుడును హిల్కీయా కుమారుడునైన ఎల్యాకీమును, శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాయును, రాజ్యపు దస్తావేజులమీదనున్న ఆసాపు కుమారుడగు యోవాహును బట్టలు చింపుకొని హిజ్కియాయొద్దకు వచ్చి రబ్షాకే పలికిన మాటలన్నియు తెలియజెప్పిరి.

22. Then came Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah the steward of the house, and Shebna the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder, vnto Hezekiah with rent clothes, and tolde him the wordes of Rabshakeh.
