1. హిజ్కియా విని తన బట్టలు చింపుకొని గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని యెహోవా మందిరమునకుపోయి

1. When King Hezekiah heard what the field commander had said, he tore his clothes. He put on black clothes. Then he went into the Lord's temple.

2. గృహ నిర్వాహకుడగు ఎల్యాకీమును, శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాను, యాజకులలో పెద్దలను, ఆమోజు కుమారుడును ప్రవక్తయు నైన యెషయాయొద్దకు పంపెను.

2. Hezekiah sent Eliakim, who was in charge of the palace, to me. He also sent the leading priests and the secretary Shebna to me. All of them were wearing black clothes.

3. వీరు గోనెపట్ట కట్టు కొనినవారై అతనియొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితో ఇట్లనిరిహిజ్కియా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాఈ దినము శ్రమయు శిక్షయు దూషణయు గల దినము, పిల్లలు పుట్టవచ్చిరి గాని కనుటకు శక్తి చాలదు.

3. They told me, 'Hezekiah says, 'Today we're in great trouble. The Lord is warning us. He's bringing shame on us. Sometimes babies come to the moment when they should be born. But their mothers aren't strong enough to allow them to be born. Today we are like those mothers. We aren't strong enough to save ourselves.

4. జీవముగల దేవుని దూషించు టకై అష్షూరురాజైన తన యజమానునిచేత పంపబడిన రబ్షాకే పలికిన మాటలు నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవా ఒకవేళ ఆలకించి, నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు వినబడియున్న ఆ మాటలనుబట్టి ఆయన అష్షూరురాజును గద్దించునేమో. కాబట్టి నిలిచిన శేషముకొరకు నీవు హెచ్చుగా ప్రార్థన చేయుము.

4. 'Perhaps the Lord your God will hear everything the field commander has said. His master, the king of Assyria, has sent him to make fun of the living God. Maybe the Lord your God will punish him for what he has heard him say. So pray for the remaining people who are still alive here.' '

5. రాజైన హిజ్కియా సేవకులు యెషయా యొద్దకు రాగా

5. King Hezekiah's officials came to me.

6. యెషయా వారితో ఇట్లనెనుమీ యజమానునికి ఈ మాట తెలియజేయుడి; యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా అష్షూరురాజు సేవకులు నన్ను దూషింపగా నీవు వినిన మాటలకు భయపడవద్దు.

6. Then I said to them, 'Tell your master, 'The Lord says, 'Do not be afraid of what you have heard. The officers who are under the king of Assyria have spoken evil things against me.

7. అతనిలో ఒక ఆత్మను నేను పుట్టింతును; వదంతి విని తన దేశమునకు వెళ్లిపోవును. అతని దేశమందు ఖడ్గముచేత అతనిని కూలజేయుదును.

7. Listen! I will send him news from his own country. It will upset him so much that he will return home. There I will have him cut down with a sword.' ' '

8. అష్షూరురాజు లాకీషు పట్టణమును విడిచి వెళ్లి లిబ్నా మీద యుద్ధము చేయుచుండగా రబ్షాకే పోయి అతని కలిసికొనెను.

8. The field commander heard that the king of Assyria had left Lachish. So the commander pulled his troops back from Jerusalem. He went to join the king. He found out that the king was fighting against Libnah.

9. అంతట కూషురాజైన తిర్హాకా తన మీద యుద్ధము చేయుటకు వచ్చెనని అష్షూరు రాజునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు హిజ్కియాయొద్దకు దూతలను పంపి యీలాగు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

9. During that time Sennacherib received a report. He was told that Tirhakah was marching out to fight against him. Tirhakah was king of Egypt. He was from the land of Cush. When Sennacherib heard the report, he sent messengers again to Hezekiah with a letter. It said,

10. యూదా రాజగు హిజ్కి యాతో ఈలాగు చెప్పుడియెరూషలేము అష్షూరురాజు చేతికి అప్పగింపబడదని చెప్పి నీవు నమ్ముకొనియున్న నీ దేవునిచేత మోసపోకుము.

10. Tell Hezekiah, the king of Judah, 'Don't let the god you depend on trick you. He says, 'Jerusalem will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.' But don't believe him.

11. అష్షూరురాజులు సకలదేశము లను బొత్తిగా నశింపజేసిన సంగతి నీకు వినబడినది గదా; నీవుమాత్రము తప్పించుకొందువా?

11. I'm sure you have heard about what the kings of Assyria have done to all of the other countries. They have destroyed them completely. So do you think you will be saved?

12. నా పితరులు నిర్మూ లముచేసిన గోజానువారు గాని హారానువారు గాని రెజెపులు గాని తెలశ్శారులోనుండిన ఏదెనీయులు గాని తమ దేవతల సహాయమువలన తప్పించుకొనిరా?

12. ' 'The kings who ruled before me destroyed many nations. Did the gods of those nations save them? Did the gods of Gozan, Haran or Rezeph save them? What about the gods of the people of Eden who were in Tel Assar?

13. హమాతు రాజు ఏమాయెను? అర్పాదురాజును సెపర్వయీము హేన ఇవ్వా అను పట్టణముల రాజులును ఏమైరి? అని వ్రాసిరి

13. Where is the king of Hamath? Where is the king of Arpad? Where is the king of the city of Sepharvaim? Where are the kings of Hena or Ivvah?' '

14. హిజ్కియా దూతలచేతిలోనుండి ఆ ఉత్తరము తీసికొని చదివి యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి పోయి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని దాని విప్పి పరచి

14. When Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers, he read it. Then he went up to the Lord's temple. There he spread the letter out in front of the Lord.

15. యెహోవా సన్నిధిని ఇట్లని ప్రార్థనచేసెను

15. Hezekiah prayed to the Lord. He said,

16. యెహోవా, కెరూ బుల మధ్యను నివసించుచున్న ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవా, భూమ్యాకాశములను కలుగజేసిన అద్వితీయ దేవా, నీవు లోకమందున్న సకల రాజ్యములకు దేవుడవై యున్నావు.

16. Lord who rules over all, you are the God of Israel. You sit on your throne between the cherubim. You alone are God over all of the kingdoms on earth. You have made heaven and earth.

17. సైన్యముల కధిపతివగు యెహోవా, చెవి యొగ్గి ఆలకిం చుము; యెహోవా, కన్నులు తెరచి దృష్టించుము; జీవము గల దేవుడవైన నిన్ను దూషించుటకై సన్హెరీబు పంపిన వాని మాటలను చెవినిబెట్టుము.

17. Listen, Lord. Hear us. Open your eyes, Lord. Look at the trouble we're in. Listen to what Sennacherib is saying. You are the living God. And he dares to make fun of you!

18. యెహోవా, అష్షూరు రాజులు ఆ జనములను వారి దేశములను పాడు చేసి

18. 'Lord, it's true that the kings of Assyria have completely destroyed many nations and their lands.

19. వారి దేవతలను అగ్నిలో వేసినది నిజమే. ఆ రాజ్యముల దేవతలు నిజమైన దేవుడు కాక మనుష్యులచేత చేయబడిన కఱ్ఱలు రాళ్లు గాని దేవతలు కావు గనుక వారు వారిని నిర్మూలముచేసిరి.

19. They have thrown the statues of the gods of those nations into the fire. And they have destroyed them. That's because they weren't really gods at all. They were nothing but statues that were made out of wood and stone. They were made by human hands.

20. యెహోవా, లోకమందున్న నీవే నిజముగా నీవే అద్వితీయ దేవుడవైన యెహోవా వని సమస్త జనులు తెలిసికొనునట్లు అతని చేతిలోనుండి మమ్మును రక్షించుము.

20. 'Lord our God, save us from the powerful hand of Sennacherib. Then all of the kingdoms on earth will know that you alone are God.'

21. అంతట ఆమోజు కుమారుడైన యెషయా హిజ్కియా యొద్దకు ఈ వర్తమానము పంపెనుఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవు డగు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా అష్షూరు రాజైన సన్హెరీబు విషయమందు నీవు నా యెదుట ప్రార్థన చేసితివే.

21. I sent a message to Hezekiah. I said, 'The Lord is the God of Israel. He says, 'You have prayed to me about Sennacherib, the king of Assyria.

22. అతనిగూర్చి యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుమాట ఏదనగా సీయోను కుమారియైన కన్యక నిన్ను దూషణ చేయు చున్నది ఆమె నిన్ను అపహాస్యము చేయుచున్నది యెరూషలేము కుమారి నిన్ను చూచి తల ఊచు చున్నది.

22. So here is the message I have spoken against him. I am telling him, ' ' 'You will not win the battle over Zion. Its people hate you and make fun of you. The people of Jerusalem lift up their heads proudly as you run away.

23. నీవు ఎవరిని తిరస్కరించితివి? ఎవరిని దూషించితివి? నీవు గర్వించి యెవరిని భయపెట్టితివి? ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల పరిశుద్ధదేవునినే గదా?

23. Who have you laughed at? Who have you spoken evil things against? Who have you raised your voice against? Who have you looked at so proudly? You have done it against me. I am the Holy One of Israel!

24. నీ దూతలచేత యెహోవాను తిరస్కరించి నీ వీలాగు పలికితివి నా రథముల సముదాయముతో నేను పర్వత శిఖర ముల మీదికిని లెబానోను పార్శ్వములకును ఎక్కియున్నాను ఎత్తుగల దాని దేవదారు వృక్షములను శ్రేష్ఠమైన సరళవృక్షములను నరికివేసియున్నాను వాని దూరపు సరిహద్దులలోనున్న సత్రములలోనికిని కర్మెలు ఫలవంతములగు క్షేత్రమైన అడవి లోనికిని ప్రవేశించియున్నాను.

24. Through your messengers you have laughed at me again and again. And you have said, 'I have many chariots. With them I have climbed to the tops of the mountains. I've climbed the highest mountains in Lebanon. I've cut down its tallest cedar trees. I've cut down the best of its pine trees. I've reached its farthest mountains. I've reached its finest forests.

25. నేను త్రవ్వి నీళ్లు పానముచేసియున్నాను నా అరకాలిచేత నేను దిట్టమైన స్థలముల నదుల నన్నిటిని ఎండిపోచేసియున్నాను

25. I've dug wells in strange lands. I've drunk the water from them. I've walked through all of Egypt's streams. I've dried up every one of them.'

26. నేనే పూర్వమందే దీని కలుగజేసితిననియు పురాతన కాలమందే దీని నిర్ణయించితిననియు నీకు వినబడలేదా? ప్రాకారములుగల పట్టణములను నీవు పాడు దిబ్బలుగా చేయుట నా వలననే సంభవించినది.

26. ' ' 'But I, the Lord, say, 'Haven't you heard what I have done? Long ago I arranged for you to do all of that. In days of old I planned it. Now I have made it happen. You have turned cities with high walls into piles of stone.

27. కాబట్టి వాటి కాపురస్థులు బలహీనులై జడిసిరి. విభ్రాంతినొంది పొలములోని గడ్డివలెను కాడవేయని చేలవలెను అయిరి.

27. Their people do not have any power left. They are troubled and put to shame. They are like plants in the field. They are like new green plants. They are like grass that grows on a roof. It dries up before it is completely grown.

28. నీవు కూర్చుండుటయు బయలువెళ్లుటయు లోపలికి వచ్చుటయు నామీదవేయు రంకెలును నాకు తెలిసేయున్నవి.

28. ' ' ' 'But I know where you live. I know when you come and go. I know how very angry you are with me.

29. నామీద నీవు వేయు రంకెలును నీవు చేసిన కలహమును నా చెవులలో జొచ్చెను నా గాలము నీ ముక్కునకు తగిలించెదను నా కళ్లెము నీ నోటిలో పెట్టి నిన్ను మళ్లించెదను నీవు వచ్చిన మార్గముననే నిన్ను మళ్లించెదను.

29. You roar against me and brag. And I have heard your bragging. So I will put my hook in your nose. I will put my bit in your mouth. And I will make you go home by the same way you came.' ' ' '

30. మరియు యెషయా చెప్పినదేమనగాహిజ్కియా, నీకిదే సూచనయగును. ఈ సంవత్సరమందు దాని అంతట అదే పండు ధాన్యమును, రెండవ సంవత్సరమందు దానినుండి కలుగు ధాన్యమును మీరు భుజింతురు. మూడవ సంవత్సరమున మీరు విత్తనము విత్తి చేలు కోయుదురు; ద్రాక్షతోటలు నాటి వాటిఫలము ననుభవించుదురు.

30. The Lord said, 'Hezekiah, here is a miraculous sign for you. 'This year you will eat what grows by itself. Next year you will eat what grows from that. But in the third year you will plant your crops and gather them in. You will plant your grapevines and eat their fruit.

31. యూదా వంశములో తప్పించు కొనిన శేషము ఇంకను క్రిందికి వేరు తన్ని మీదికి ఎదిగి ఫలించును.

31. The people of Judah who are still alive will be like plants. Once more they will put down roots and produce fruit.

32. శేషించు వారు యెరూషలేములో నుండి బయలుదేరుదురు, తప్పించు కొనినవారు సీయోను కొండలోనుండి బయలుదేరుదురు; సైన్య ములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఆసక్తి దీని నెర వేర్చును.

32. Out of Jerusalem will come those who remain. Out of Mount Zion will come those who are still left alive. My great love will make sure that happens. I rule over all.

33. కాబట్టి అష్షూరురాజునుగూర్చి యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగా అతడు ఈ పట్టణములోనికి రాడు; దానిమీద ఒక బాణమైన ప్రయోగింపడు; ఒక కేడెము నైన దానికి కనుపరచడు; దానియెదుట ముట్టడి దిబ్బ కట్టడు.

33. 'Here is a message from me about the king of Assyria. It says, ' 'He will not enter this city. He will not even shoot an arrow at it. He will not come near it with a shield. He will not build a ramp in order to climb over its walls.

34. ఈ పట్టణము లోపలికి రాక తాను వచ్చిన మార్గముననే అతడు తిరిగి పోవును; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

34. By the way that he came he will go home. He will not enter this city,' announces the Lord.

35. నా నిమిత్తమును నా సేవకుడైన దావీదు నిమిత్తమును నేను ఈ పట్టణమును కాపాడి రక్షించుదును.

35. 'I will guard this city and save it. I will do it for myself. And I will do it for my servant David.'

36. అంతట యెహోవా దూత బయలుదేరి అష్షూరువారి దండు పేటలో లక్ష యెనుబదియైదువేలమందిని మొత్తెను; ఉదయమున జనులు లేవగా వారందరును మృతకళేబరములుగా ఉండిరి.

36. Then the angel of the Lord went into the camp of the Assyrians. He put to death 185,000 soldiers there. The people of Jerusalem got up the next morning. They looked out and saw all of the dead bodies.

37. అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు తిరిగిపోయి నీనెవె పట్టణమునకు వచ్చి నివసించిన తరువాత

37. So Sennacherib, the king of Assyria, took the army tents down. Then he left. He returned to Nineveh and stayed there.

38. అతడు నిస్రోకు అను తన దేవత మందిరమందు మ్రొక్కు చుండగా అతని కుమారులైన అద్రమ్మెలెకును షెరెజెరును ఖడ్గముతో అతని చంపి ఆరారాతుదేశములోనికి తప్పించు కొనిపోయిరి. అప్పుడు అతని కుమారుడైన ఎసర్హద్దోను అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

38. One day Sennacherib was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisroch. His sons Adrammelech and Sharezer cut him down with their swords. Then they escaped to the land of Ararat. Esarhaddon became the next king after his father Sennacherib.
