1. కన్యకయైన బబులోనూ, క్రిందికి దిగి మంటిలో కూర్చుండుము కల్దీయుల కుమారీ, సింహాసనము లేకయే నేలమీద కూర్చుండుము నీవు మృదువువనియైనను సుకుమారివనియైనను జనులు ఇకమీదట చెప్పరు.

1. Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon; sit on the ground, without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no longer be called tender and delicate.

2. తిరుగటిదిమ్మలు తీసికొని పిండి విసరుము నీ ముసుకు పారవేయుము కాలిమీద జీరాడు వస్త్రము తీసివేయుము కాలిమీది బట్ట తీసి నదులు దాటుము.

2. Take the millstones and grind meal; uncover thy locks, remove the shoes from thy feet, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

3. నీ కోకయు తీసివేయబడును నీకు కలిగిన యవమానము వెల్లడియగును నేను ప్రతిదండన చేయుచు నరులను మన్నింపను.

3. Thy nakedness shall be uncovered and thy shame shall be seen; I will take vengeance, and I will not help [any] man.

4. సైన్యములకధిపతియు ఇశ్రాయేలుయొక్క పరిశుద్ధ దేవుడునగు యెహోవా అని మా విమోచకునికి పేరు.

4. As [for] our redeemer, the LORD of the hosts [is] his name, the Holy One of Israel.

5. కల్దీయుల కుమారీ, మౌనముగా నుండి చీకటిలోనికి పొమ్ము రాజ్యములకు దొరసానియని యికమీదట జనులు నిన్నుగూర్చి చెప్పరు.

5. Sit, be silent, and go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no longer be called, The lady of kingdoms.

6. నా జనులమీద కోపపడి నా స్వాస్థ్యము నపవిత్ర పరచి వారిని నీ చేతికి అప్పగించితిని నీవు వారియందు కనికరపడక వృద్దులమీద నీ కాడి మ్రానును మిక్కిలి బరువుగా మోపితివి.

6. I was wroth with my people; I have profaned my inheritance and given them into thine hand; thou didst show them no mercy; upon the ancient thou hast very heavily laid thy yoke.

7. నేను సర్వదా దొరసానినై యుందునని నీవనుకొని వీటిని ఆలోచింపకపోతివి వాటి ఫలమేమవునో మనస్సునకు తెచ్చుకొనకపోతివి.

7. And thou didst say, I shall be a lady for ever. Until now thou hast not laid these [things] to heart, neither didst thou remember thy latter end.

8. కాబట్టి సుఖాసక్తురాలవై నిర్భయముగా నివసించుచు నేనే ఉన్నాను నేను తప్ప మరి ఎవరును లేరు నేను విధవరాలనై కూర్చుండను పుత్రశోకము నేను చూడనని అనుకొనుచున్నదానా, ఈ మాటను వినుము

8. Therefore now hear this, [thou] delicate one, that dost sit in confidence and say in thine heart, I [am], and no one else beside me; I shall not sit [as] a widow, neither shall I be fatherless.

9. ఒక్క దినములోగా ఒక్క నిమిషముననే పుత్ర శోకమును వైధవ్యమును ఈ రెండును నీకు సంభ వించును. నీవు అధికముగా శకునము చూచినను అత్యధికమైన కర్ణపిశాచ తంత్రములను నీవు ఆధారముగా చేసికొనినను ఆ యపాయములు నీమీదికి సంపూర్తిగా వచ్చును.

9. But these two [things] shall come to thee in a moment in one day; the loss of thy fathers and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries [and] for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

10. నీ చెడుతనమును నీవు ఆధారము చేసికొని యెవడును నన్ను చూడడని అనుకొంటివి నేనున్నాను నేను తప్ప మరి ఎవరును లేరని నీవను కొనునట్లుగా నీ విద్యయు నీ జ్ఞానమును నిన్ను చెరిపివేసెను.

10. For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, No one sees me. Thy wisdom and thine [own] knowledge; it has deceived thee; for thou hast said in thine heart, I [am], and no one else beside me.

11. కీడు నీమీదికివచ్చును నీవు మంత్రించి దాని పోగొట్ట జాలవు ఆ కీడు నీమీద పడును దానిని నీవు నివారించలేవు నీకు తెలియని నాశనము నీమీదికి ఆకస్మికముగా వచ్చును.

11. Therefore shall evil come upon thee; thou shalt not know from where it rises; and mischief shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it off: and destruction shall come upon thee suddenly, [which] thou shalt not know.

12. నీ బాల్యమునుండి నీవు ప్రయాసపడి అభ్యసించిన నీ కర్ణపిశాచ తంత్రములను నీ విస్తారమైన శకునములను చూపుటకు నిలువుము ఒకవేళ అవి నీకు ప్రయోజనములగునేమో ఒకవేళ నీవు మనుష్యులను బెదరింతువేమో

12. Stand now with thine enchantments and with the multitude of thy sorceries in which thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to better thyself, if so be thou may prevail.

13. నీ విస్తారమైన యోచనలవలన నీవు అలసియున్నావు జ్యోతిష్కులు నక్షత్రసూచకులు మాసచర్య చెప్పు వారు నిలువబడి నీమీదికి వచ్చునవి రాకుండ నిన్ను తప్పించి రక్షించుదురేమో ఆలోచించుము.

13. Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now those that contemplate the heavens, those that speculate regarding the stars, those that teach the courses of the moon, stand up and defend thee from [these things] that shall come upon thee.

14. వారు కొయ్యకాలువలెనైరి అగ్ని వారిని కాల్చివేయుచున్నది జ్వాలయొక్క బలమునుండి తమ్ముతాము తప్పించుకొన లేక యున్నారు అది కాచుకొనుటకు నిప్పుకాదు ఎదుట కూర్చుండి కాచుకొనదగినది కాదు.

14. Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver their lives from the hand of the flame; [there shall] not be a coal left to warm at, [nor] light to sit before it.

15. నీవు ఎవరికొరకు ప్రయాసపడి అలసితివో వారికి ఆలాగే జరుగుచున్నది నీ బాల్యము మొదలుకొని నీతో వ్యాపారము చేయు వారు తమ తమ చోట్లకు వెళ్లిపోవుచున్నారు నిన్ను రక్షించువాడొకడైన నుండడు.

15. Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured, [even] thy merchants, from thy youth: they shall wander each one to his own way; there [shall be] no one to save thee.:
