1. యిర్మీయా ఆ ప్రవచనములను పలుకగా యెహోవా మందిరములో పెద్ద నాయకుడును ఇమ్మేరు కుమారుడునగు పషూరను యాజకుడు విని

1. Pashhur son of Immer was a priest. He was the highest officer in the Temple of the Lord. When he heard Jeremiah say those things in the Temple yard,

2. ప్రవక్తయైన యిర్మీయాను కొట్టి, యెహోవా మందిరమందున్న బెన్యామీనుమీది గుమ్మమునొద్దనుండు బొండలో అతనిని వేయించెను.

2. he had Jeremiah the prophet beaten. And he had Jeremiah's hands and feet locked between large blocks of wood. This was at the Upper Gate of Benjamin of the Temple.

3. మరునాడు పషూరు యిర్మీయాను బొండలోనుండి విడి పింపగా యిర్మీయా అతనితో ఇట్లనెనుయెహోవా నీకు పషూరను పేరు పెట్టడు గాని మాగోర్మిస్సాబీబ్‌ అని నీకు పేరు పెట్టును.

3. The next day Pashhur took Jeremiah out from between the blocks of wood. Then Jeremiah said to him, 'The Lord's name for you is not Pashhur. Now his name for you is, 'Surrounded by Terror.'

4. యెహోవా ఈ మాట సెలవిచ్చు చున్నాడు నీకును నీ స్నేహితులకందరికిని నీవే భయకారణముగా నుండునట్లు చేయుచున్నాను; నీవు చూచు చుండగా వారు తమ శత్రువుల ఖడ్గముచేత కూలెదరు, మరియు యూదావారినందరిని బబులోను రాజుచేతికి అప్పగింతును, అతడు వారిని చెరపట్టి బబులోనునకు తీసి కొనిపోవును, ఖడ్గముచేత వారిని హతముచేయును.

4. That is your name because of what the Lord says: 'I will soon make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. You will watch enemies killing your friends with swords. I will give all the people of Judah to the king of Babylon. He will take them away to the country of Babylon, and his army will kill the people of Judah with their swords.

5. ఈ పట్టణములోని ఐశ్వర్యమంతయు దానికి వచ్చిన లాభ మంతయు దాని అమూల్యవస్తువులన్నియు యూదా రాజుల నిధులన్నియు నేనప్పగింతును, వారి శత్రువుల చేతికే వాటి నప్పగింతును, శత్రువులు వాటిని దోచుకొని పట్టుకొని బబులోనునకు తీసికొనిపోవుదురు.

5. The people of Jerusalem worked hard to build things and become wealthy, but I will give all these things to their enemies. The king in Jerusalem has many treasures, but I will give all the treasures to the enemy. The enemy will take them and carry them away to the country of Babylon.

6. పషూరూ, నీవును నీ యింట నివసించువారందరును చెరలోనికి పోవుదురు, నీవును నీవు ప్రవచనములచేత మోసపుచ్చిన నీ స్నేహితులందరును బబులోనునకు వచ్చెదరు, అక్కడనే చనిపోయెదరు అక్కడనే పాతిపెట్టబడెదరు.

6. And Pashhur, you and all the people living in your house will be taken away. You will be forced to go and live in the country of Babylon. You will die in Babylon, and you will be buried in that foreign country. You told lies to your friends. {You said these things would not happen.} But all your friends will also die and be buried in Babylon.''

7. యెహోవా, నీవు నన్ను ప్రేరేపింపగా నీ ప్రేరే పణకు లోబడితిని; నీవు బలవంతముచేసి నన్ను గెలిచితివి, నేను దినమెల్ల నవ్వులపాలైతిని, అందరు నన్ను ఎగతాళి చేయుదురు.

7. Lord, you tricked me, and I certainly was fooled. You are stronger than I am, so you won. I have become a joke. People laugh at me and make fun of me all day long.

8. ఏలయనగా నేను పలుకునప్పుడెల్ల బలాత్కారము జరుగుచున్నది, దోపుడు జరుగుచున్నది అని యెలుగెత్తి చాటింపవలసి వచ్చెను; దినమెల్ల యెహోవా మాట నాకు అవమానమునకును అపహాస్యమునకును హేతు వాయెను.

8. Every time I speak, I shout. I am always shouting about violence and destruction. I tell the people about the message that I received from the Lord. But they only insult me and make fun of me.

9. ఆయన పేరు నేనెత్తను, ఆయన నామమును బట్టి ప్రకటింపను, అని నేనను కొంటినా? అది నా హృదయములో అగ్నివలె మండుచు నా యెముకలలోనే మూయబడియున్నట్లున్నది; నేను ఓర్చి యోర్చి విసికి యున్నాను, చెప్పక మానలేదు.

9. Sometimes I say to myself, 'I will forget about the Lord. I will not speak anymore in his name.' But when I say that, then the Lord's message is like a fire burning inside of me! It feels like it is burning deep in my bones! I get tired of trying to hold his message inside of me. And finally, I am not able to hold it in.

10. నలుదిక్కుల భయము అని అనేకులు గుసగుసలాడగా వింటిని. వారుదుర్మార్గు డని మీరు చాటించినయెడల మేమును చాటింతుమందురు; అతడొకవేళ చిక్కుపడును, అప్పుడు మనమతని పట్టుకొని అతనిమీద పగతీర్చుకొందమని చెప్పుకొనుచు, నాకు స్నేహితులైన వారందరు నేను పడిపోగా చూడవలెనని కనిపెట్టు కొనియున్నారు.

10. I hear people whispering against me. Everywhere, I hear things that frighten me. Even my friends are speaking against me. People are just waiting for me to make a mistake. They are saying, 'Let us lie and say that he did something bad. Maybe we can trick Jeremiah. Then we will have him. We will finally be rid of him. Then we will grab him and take our revenge on him.'

11. అయితే పరాక్రమముగల శూరునివలె యెహోవా నాకు తోడైయున్నాడు; నన్ను హింసించు వారు నన్ను గెలువక తొట్రిల్లుదురు; వారు యుక్తిగా జరుపుకొనరు గనుక బహుగా సిగ్గుపడుదురు, వారెన్న డును మరువబడని నిత్యావమానము పొందుదురు.

11. But the Lord is with me. He is like a strong soldier. So those who are chasing me will fall. They will not defeat me. They will fail. They will be disappointed. They will be ashamed, and they will never forget that shame.

12. సైన్యములకధిపతివగు యెహోవా, నీతిమంతులను పరిశోధించువాడవు నీవే; అంతరింద్రియములను హృదయమును చూచువాడవు నీవే; నా వ్యాజ్యెమును నీకే అప్పగించు చున్నాను. నీవు వారికి చేయు ప్రతిదండన నేను చూతును గాక

12. Lord All-Powerful, you test good people. You look deeply into a person's mind. I told you my arguments against these people. So let me see you give them the punishment they deserve.

13. యెహోవాను కీర్తించుడి, యెహోవాను స్తుతించుడి, దుష్టుల చేతిలోనుండి దరిద్రుని ప్రాణమును ఆయనే విడిపించుచున్నాడు.

13. Sing to the Lord! Praise the Lord! He saves the lives of the poor! He saves them from the wicked!

14. నేను పుట్టినదినము శపింపబడును గాక; నా తల్లి నన్ను కనిన దినము శుభదినమని అనబడకుండును గాక;

14. Curse the day that I was born! Don't bless the day my mother had me.

15. నీకు మగపిల్ల పుట్టెనని నా తండ్రికి వర్తమానము తెచ్చి అతనికి అధిక సంతోషము పుట్టించినవాడు శాపగ్రస్తుడగును గాక;

15. Curse the man who told my father the news that I was born. 'It's a boy!' he said. 'You have a son.' He made my father very happy when he told him the news.

16. నా తల్లి నాకు సమాధిగానుండి ఆమె ఎల్లప్పుడు గర్భవతిగానుండునట్లు అతడు గర్భములోనే నన్ను చంపలేదు గనుక

16. Let that man be like the cities the Lord destroyed. He had no pity on them. Let that man hear shouts of war in the morning; let him hear battle cries at noontime,

17. యెహోవా యేమాత్రమును సంతాపములేక నశింపజేసిన పట్టణములవలె ఆ మనుష్యుడు ఉండును గాక; ఉదయమున ఆర్త ధ్వనిని మధ్యాహ్న కాలమందు యుద్ధధ్వనిని అతడు వినును గాక

17. because he did not kill me while I was in my mother's womb. If he had killed me then, my mother would have been my grave, and I would not have been born.

18. కష్టమును దుఃఖమును చూచుటకై నా దినములు అవమానముతో గతించిపోవునట్లు నేనేల గర్భములోనుండి వెడలితిని?

18. Why did I have to come out of her body? All I have seen is trouble and sorrow, and my life will end in shame.
