1. [[ADONAI]] says: 'If a man divorces his wife, and she leaves him and marries another man, then if the first one marries her again, that land will be completely defiled. But you prostituted yourself to many lovers, yet you want to return to me?' says ADONAI.

2. చెట్లులేని కొండప్రదేశమువైపు నీ కన్నులెత్తి చూడుము; నీతో ఒకడు శయనింపని స్థలమెక్కడ ఉన్నది? ఎడారి మార్గమున అరబిదేశస్థుడు కాచియుండునట్లుగా నీవు వారికొరకు త్రోవలలో కూర్చుండియున్నావు; నీ వ్యభిచారములచేతను నీ దుష్కార్యములచేతను నీవు దేశమును అపవిత్రపరచుచున్నావు.

2. 'Raise your eyes to the bare hills, take a look: where have you not had sex? You sat by the roadsides waiting for them like a nomad in the desert. You have defiled the land with your prostitution and wickedness.

3. కావున వానలు కురియక మానెను, కడవరి వర్షము లేకపోయి యున్నది, అయినను నీకు వ్యభిచార స్త్రీ ధైర్యమువంటి ధైర్యము గలదు, సిగ్గు పడనొల్ల కున్నావు.

3. For this reason the showers have been withheld, there has been no rain in the spring; still you maintain a whore's brazen look and refuse to be ashamed.

4. అయినను ఇప్పుడు నీవునా తండ్రీ, చిన్నప్పటినుండి నాకు చెలికాడవు నీవే యని నాకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టుచుండవా?

4. Didn't you just now cry to me, 'My father, you are my friend from my youth'?-

5. ఆయన నిత్యము కోపించునా? నిరంతరము కోపము చూపునా? అని నీవనుకొనినను నీవు చేయదలచిన దుష్కార్యములు చేయుచునే యున్నావు.

5. [[thinking,]] 'He won't bear a grudge forever, will he? He wouldn't maintain it right to the end.' You say this, but you keep doing evil things, you just do whatever you want.'

6. మరియు రాజైన యోషీయా దినములలో యెహోవా నాకీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనుద్రోహినియగు ఇశ్రాయేలు చేయుకార్యము నీవు చూచితివా? ఆమె ఉన్నతమైన ప్రతి కొండమీదికిని పచ్చని ప్రతి చెట్టు క్రిందికిని పోవుచు అక్కడ వ్యభిచారము చేయుచున్నది.

6. In the days of Yoshiyahu the king, ADONAI asked me, 'Have you seen the things that backsliding Isra'el has been doing? She goes up on every bare hill and under every green tree and prostitutes herself there.

7. I said that after she had done all these things, she would return to me; but she hasn't returned. Meanwhile, her unfaithful sister Y'hudah has been watching.

8. I saw that even though backsliding Isra'el had committed adultery, so that I had sent her away and given her a divorce document, unfaithful Y'hudah her sister was not moved to fear- instead she too went and prostituted herself.

9. రాళ్లతోను మొద్దులతోను వ్యభిచారము చేసెను; ఆమె నిర్భయముగా వ్యభిచారము చేసి దేశమును అపవిత్రపరచెను.

9. The ease with which Isra'el prostituted herself defiled the land, as she committed adultery with stones and with logs.

10. ఇంతగా జరిగినను విశ్వాసఘాతకు రాలగు ఆమె సహోదరియైన యూదా పైవేషమునకే గాని తన పూర్ణహృదయముతో నాయొద్దకు తిరుగుట లేదని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు.

10. Yet in spite of all this, her unfaithful sister Y'hudah has not returned to me wholeheartedly; she only makes a pretense of it,' said ADONAI.

11. కాగా విశ్వాసఘాతకురాలగు యూదాకంటె ద్రోహినియగు ఇశ్రాయేలు తాను నిర్దోషినియని ఋజువుపరచుకొని యున్నది.

11. Then ADONAI said to me, 'Backsliding Isra'el has proved herself more righteous than unfaithful Y'hudah.

12. నీవు వెళ్లి ఉత్తరదిక్కున ఈ మాటలు ప్రక టింపుముద్రోహినివగు ఇశ్రాయేలూ, తిరిగిరమ్ము; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు. మీమీద నా కోపము పడనీయను, నేను కృపగలవాడను గనుక నేనెల్లప్పుడు కోపించువాడను కాను; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

12. Go and proclaim these words toward the north: ''Return, backsliding Isra'el,' says ADONAI. 'I will not frown on you, for I am merciful,' says ADONAI. 'I will not bear a grudge forever.

13. నీ దేవుడైన యెహోవామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేయుచు, నా మాటను అంగీకరింపక ప్రతి పచ్చని చెట్టు క్రింద అన్యులతో కలిసి కొనుటకు నీవు ఇటు అటు పోయిన నీ దోషము ఒప్పుకొనుము; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

13. Only acknowledge your guilt, that you have committed crimes against ADONAI your God, that you were promiscuous with strangers under every green tree, and that you have not paid attention to my voice,' says ADONAI.

14. భ్రష్టులగు పిల్లలారా, తిరిగిరండి, నేను మీ యజమానుడను; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు ఒకానొక పట్టణములోనుండి ఒకనిగాను, ఒకానొక కుటుంబములోనుండి ఇద్దరినిగాను మిమ్మును తీసికొని సీయోనునకు రప్పించెదను.

14. 'Return, backsliding children,' says ADONAI; 'for I am your master. I will take you, one from a city, two from a family, and bring you to Tziyon.

15. నాకిష్టమైన కాపరులను మీకు నియమింతును, వారు జ్ఞానముతోను వివేకముతోను మిమ్ము నేలుదురు.

15. I will give you shepherds after my own heart, and they will feed you with knowledge and understanding.

16. మీరు ఆ దేశములో అభివృద్ధి పొంది విస్తరించు దినములలో జనులుయెహోవా నిబంధన మందసమని ఇకను చెప్పరు, అది వారి మనస్సు లోనికి రాదు, దానిని జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనరు, అది పోయి నందుకు చింతపడరు, ఇకమీదట దాని చేయరాదు; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

16. '''And,' says ADONAI, 'in those days, when your numbers have increased in the land, people will no longer talk about the ark for the covenant of ADONAI- they won't think about it, they won't miss it, and they won't make another one.

17. ఆ కాలమునయెహోవాయొక్క సింహాసనమని యెరూషలేమునకు పేరు పెట్టెదరు; జనము లన్నియు తమ దుష్టమనస్సులో పుట్టు మూర్ఖత్వము చొప్పున నడుచుకొనక యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి యెరూషలేమునకు గుంపులుగా కూడి వచ్చెదరు.

17. When that time comes, they will call Yerushalayim the throne of ADONAI. All the nations will be gathered there to the name of ADONAI, to Yerushalayim. No longer will they live according to their stubbornly evil hearts.

18. ఆ దినములలో యూదావంశస్థులును ఇశ్రాయేలు వంశస్థులును కలిసి ఉత్తరదేశములోనుండి ప్రయాణమై, మీ పితరులకు నేను స్వాస్థ్యముగా ఇచ్చిన దేశమునకు వచ్చెదరు.

18. In those days, the house of Y'hudah will live together with the house of Isra'el; they will come together from the lands in the north to the land I gave your ancestors as their heritage.

19. నేను బిడ్డలలో నిన్నెట్లు ఉంచుకొని, రమ్య దేశమును జనముల స్వాస్థ్యములలో రాజకీయ స్వాస్థ్యమును నేనెట్లు నీకిచ్చెదననుకొని యుంటిని. నీవునా తండ్రీ అని నాకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టి నన్ను మానవనుకొంటిని గదా?

19. '''I thought that I would like to put you among the sons [[with inheritance rights]] and give you a pleasant land, the best heritage of all the nations. I thought that you would call me 'My father' and never stop following me.

20. అయినను స్త్రీ తన పురుషునికి విశ్వాసఘాతకురాలగునట్లుగా ఇశ్రాయేలు వంశస్థులారా, నిశ్చయముగా మీరును నాకు విశ్వాస ఘాతకులైతిరి; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

20. But like a faithless woman who betrays her husband, you, house of Isra'el, have betrayed me,' says ADONAI.''

21. ఆలకించుడి, చెట్లులేని మెట్టలమీద ఒక స్వరము వినబడుచున్నది; ఆలకించుడి, తాము దుర్మార్గులై తమ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను మరచినదానిని బట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు చేయు రోదన విజ్ఞాపనములు వినబడుచున్నవి.

21. A sound is heard on the heights, the house of Isra'el crying, pleading for mercy, because they have perverted their way and forgotten ADONAI their God.

22. భ్రష్టులైన బిడ్డలారా, తిరిగి రండి;మీ అవిశ్వాసమును నేను బాగుచేసెదను; నీవే మాదేవుడవైనయెహోవావు, నీయొద్దకే మేము వచ్చు చున్నాము,

22. Return, backsliding children, and I will heal your backsliding.' 'Here we are, we are coming to you, for you are ADONAI our God.

23. నిశ్చయముగా కొండలమీద జరిగినది మోసకరము, పర్వతములమీద చేసిన ఘోష నిష్‌ప్రయోజనము, నిశ్చయముగా మా దేవుడైన యెహోవావలన ఇశ్రాయేలునకు రక్షణ కలుగును.

23. Indeed the hills have proved a delusion, likewise the orgies on the mountains. Truly the salvation of Isra'el is in ADONAI our God.

24. అయినను మా బాల్యమునుండి లజ్జాకరమైన దేవత మా పితరుల కష్టార్జితమును, వారి గొఱ్ఱెలను వారి పశువులను వారి కుమారులను వారి కుమార్తెలను మింగివేయుచున్నది.

24. But from our youth the shameful thing [[idolatry]] has devoured the fruit of our ancestors' work, their flocks and herds, their sons and daughters.

25. సిగ్గునొందినవారమై సాగిలపడుదము రండి, మనము కనబడకుండ అవమానము మనలను మరుగుచేయును గాక; మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా మాట వినక మనమును మన పితరులును మన బాల్యమునుండి నేటివరకు మన దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు విరోధముగా పాపము చేసినవారము.

25. Let us lie down in our shame, let our disgrace cover us, for we have sinned against ADONAI our God, both we and our ancestors, from our youth until today; we have not paid attention to the voice of ADONAI our God.'
