1. రాజదేహసంరక్షకులకధిపతియైన నెబూజరదాను యెరూషలేములోనుండియు యూదాలోనుండియు బబులోనునకు చెరగా కొనిపోబడిన బందీ జనులందరిలోనుండి, సంకెళ్లచేత కట్టబడియున్న యిర్మీయాను తీసికొని రామాలో నుండి పంపివేయగా, యెహోవా యొద్దనుండి అతనికి ప్రత్యక్షమైన వాక్కు.

1. The thing that happened unto Jeremiah, from Yahweh, after Nebuzaradan chief of the royal executioners had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him, he having been bound in fetters in the midst of all the captive-host of Jerusalem, and Judah, who were being carried away captive to Babylon.

2. రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతి యిర్మీయాను అవతలికి తీసికొపోయి అతనితో ఈలాగు మాటలాడెను ఈ స్థలమునకు నేను ఈ కీడు చేసెదనని నీ దేవుడగు యెహోవా ప్రకటించెను గదా.

2. So then the, chief of the royal executioners took Jeremiah, and said unto him, Yahweh thy God had threatened this calamity against this place;

3. తాను చెప్పిన ప్రకారము యెహోవా దాని రప్పించి చేయించెను, మీరు యెహోవాకు విరోధముగా పాపముచేసి ఆయన మాటలు వినక పోతిరి గనుక మీకీగతి పట్టినది.

3. and so Yahweh hath brought it about and done it just as he threatened, for ye have sinned against Yahweh, and have not hearkened unto his voice, and so this thing hath befallen you.

4. ఆలకించుము, ఈ దినమున నేను నీ చేతుల సంకెళ్లను తీసి నిన్ను విడిపించుచున్నాను, నాతోకూడ బబులోనునకు వచ్చుట మంచిదని నీకు తోచినయెడల రమ్ము, నేను నిన్ను భద్రముగా కాపాడెదను; అయితే బబులోనునకు నాతోకూడ వచ్చుట మంచిదికాదని నీకు తోచినయెడల రావద్దు, దేశమంతట నీకేమియు అడ్డములేదు, ఎక్కడికి వెళ్లుట నీ దృష్టికి అను కూలమో, యెక్కడికి వెళ్లుట మంచిదని నీకు తోచునో అక్కడికి వెళ్లుము.

4. Now, therefore, lo! I have loosed thee today, from the fetters which were upon thy hand: If it be good in thine eyes to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will set urine eyes upon thee, but if evil in thine eyes to come with me into Babylon, forbear, see! all the land, is before thee, whither it may be good and right in thine eyes to go, thither, go!

5. ఇంకను అతడు తిరిగి వెళ్లక తడవు చేయగా రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతి అతనితో ఈలాగు చెప్పెను బబులోను రాజు షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యాను యూదాపట్టణములమీద నియమించి యున్నాడు, అతని యొద్దకు వెళ్లుము; అతని యొద్ద నివసించి ప్రజలమధ్యను కాపురముండుము, లేదా యెక్కడికి వెళ్లుట నీ దృష్టికి అనుకూలమో అక్కడికే వెళ్లుము. మరియు రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతి అతనికి బత్తెమును బహుమానము ఇచ్చి అతని సాగనంపగా

5. And ere yet he could make reply Go thou back then unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath set in charge over the cities of Judah, and dwell thou with him in the midst of the people, or whithersoever it may be right in thine eyes to go, go! So the chief of the royal executioners gave him an allowance and a present and let him go.

6. యిర్మీయా మిస్పాలోనుండు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వెళ్లి అతనితో కూడ దేశములో మిగిలిన ప్రజలమధ్య కాపురముండెను.

6. Then came Jeremiah unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam to Mizpah, and dwelt with him in the midst of the people who were left in the land.

7. అయితే అచ్చటచ్చటనుండు సేనల యధిపతులందరును వారి పటాలపువారును, బబులోనురాజు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాను దేశముమీద అధికారిగా నియమించి, బబులోనునకు చెరగొని పోబడక నిలిచినవారిలో స్త్రీలను పురుషులను పిల్లలను, దేశములోని అతినీరసులైన దరిద్రులను అతనికి అప్పగించెనని వినిరి.

7. Now, when all the captains of the forces which were in the field they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had set Gedaliah son of Ahikam in charge over the land, and that he had committed to him men and women and children, and the poor of the land of those who had not been carried away captive to Babylon,

8. కాగా నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును కారేహ కుమారులైన యోహానాను యోనాతానులును తన్హుమెతు కుమారుడైన శెరాయాయును నెటోపాతీయుడైన ఏపయి కుమారులును మాయ కాతీయుడైనవాని కుమారుడగు యెజన్యాయును వారి పటాలపువారును మిస్పాలో నుండిన గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చిరి.

8. then came they in unto Gedaliah in Mizpah, both Ishmael son of Nethaniah and Johanan and Jonathan sons of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite and Jezaniah son of the Maachathite, they and their men.

9. అప్పుడు షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యా ప్రమాణముచేసి వారితోను వారి పటాలపువారితోను ఈలాగు చెప్పెను - మీరు కల్దీయులను సేవించుటకు భయపడకుడి, దేశములో కాపురముండి బబులోనురాజును సేవించినయెడల మీకు మేలు కలుగును.

9. Then Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan swats unto them, and to their men saying, Do not be afraid of serving the Chaldeans, dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon that it may be well with you.

10. నేనైతేనో నాయొద్దకు వచ్చు కల్దీయుల యెదుట నిలుచుటకై మిస్పాలో కాపురముందును గాని మీరు ద్రాక్షారసమును వేసవికాల ఫలములను తైలమును సమకూర్చుకొని, మీ పాత్రలలో వాటిని పోసికొని మీరు స్వాధీనపరచుకొనిన పట్టణములలో కాపురముండుడి.

10. But as for me, behold me! remaining in Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who may come unto us, Ye, however, gather ye wine and summer fruits and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your reties which ye have seized.

11. మోయాబులో నేమి అమ్మోనీయుల మధ్యనేమి ఎదోములో నేమి యేయే ప్రదేశములలోనేమి యున్న యూదులందరు బబులోనురాజు యూదాలో జనశేషమును విడిచెననియు, షాఫాను కుమారుడైన అహీకాము కుమారుడగు గెదల్యాను వారిమీద నియమించెననియు వినినప్పుడు

11. Likewise also, all the Jews, who were in Moab and among the sons of Ammon and in Edom and who were in any of the lands, when they heard that the king of Babylon had granted a remnant to Judah, and that he had set in charge over them Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan,

12. అందరును తాము తోలివేయబడిన స్థలములన్నిటిని విడిచి మిస్పాకు గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చి బహు విస్తారము ద్రాక్షారసమును వేసవికాలపు పండ్లను సమకూర్చుకొనిరి.

12. yea, then returned all the Jews out of all the places whither they had been driven, and came into the land of Judah unto Gedaliah, in Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits in great abundance.

13. మరియు కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానును, అచ్చటచ్చటనున్న సేనల యధిపతులందరును మిస్పా లోనున్న గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చి

13. But, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the princes of the forces which were in the field, came unto Gedaliah in Mizpah,

14. నిన్ను చంపుటకు అమ్మోనీయుల రాజైన బయలీను నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును పంపెనని నీకు తెలియదా అని చెప్పిరి. అయితే అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యా వారి మాట నమ్మలేదు.

14. and said unto him Dost thou at all know, that, Baalis, king of the sons of Ammon, hath sent Ishmael son of Nethaniah, to smite thee to death? But Gedaliah son of Ahikam, believed them not.

15. కారేహ కుమారుడగు యోహానాను మిస్పాలో గెదల్యాతో రహస్యముగా ఇట్లనెను నీ యొద్దకు కూడివచ్చిన యూదులందరు చెదరిపోవునట్లును, యూదా జనశేషము నశించు నట్లును నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు నిన్ను చంపనేల?దయచేసి నన్ను వెళ్లనిమ్ము, ఎవనికి తెలియకుండ నేను వానిని చంపెదను.

15. Then, Johanan son of Kareah, spake unto Gedaliah secretly, in Mizpah, saying, Let me go I pray thee, and smite Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and not, a man, shall know it, wherefore should he smite thee to death, and all Judah who have gathered themselves unto thee, be dispersed, and the remnant of Judah perish?

16. అందుకు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యా కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానుతో ఇష్మాయేలునుగూర్చి నీవు అబద్ధమాడుచున్నావు, నీవాకార్యము చేయకూడదనెను.

16. Then said Gedaliah son of Ahikam unto Johanan son of Kareah, Thou mayest not do this thing, for, falsely, art thou speaking against Ishmael.
