1. ఏడవ మాసమున ఎలీషామా మనుమడును నెతన్యా కుమారుడును రాజవంశస్థుడును రాజుయొక్క ప్రధానులలో నొకడునగు ఇష్మాయేలనువాడును, అతనితో పది మంది మనుష్యులును, మిస్పాలోనున్న అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాయొద్దకు వచ్చి అక్కడ అతనితోకూడ మిస్పాలో భోజనముచేసిరి.

1. And it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael son of Nethaniah son of Elishama of the seed royal and chiefs of the king, and ten men with him, came in, unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, at Mizpah, and they did there eat bread together in Mizpah.

2. అప్పుడు నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు అతనితో కూడనున్న ఆ పదిమంది మనుష్యులును లేచి షాఫాను మనుమడును అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాను ఖడ్గముచేత హతముచేసిరి; బబులోనురాజు ఆ దేశముమీద అతని అధికారినిగా నియ మించినందున అతని చంపిరి.

2. Then arose Ishmael son of Nethaniah and the ten men who were with him and they smote Gedaliah son of Ahikam son of Shaphan with the sword and slew him whom the king of Babylon had set in charge, over the land.

3. మరియు మిస్పాలో గెదల్యా యొద్ద ఉండిన యూదుల నందరిని, అక్కడ దొరికిన యోధులగు కల్దీయులను ఇష్మాయేలు చంపెను.

3. And Ishmael smote, all the Jews who were with him even with Gedaliah in Mizpah, and the Chaldeans who were found there the men of war.

4. అతడు గెదల్యాను చంపిన రెండవనాడు అది ఎవరికిని తెలియబడక మునుపు

4. And it came to pass, on the second day, after he had slain Gedaliah, not, a man, knowing it,

5. గడ్డములు క్షౌరము చేయించుకొని వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని దేహములు గాయపరచుకొనిన యెనుబదిమంది పురుషులు యెహోవా మందిరమునకు తీసికొని పోవుటకై నైవేద్యములను ధూపద్రవ్యములను చేతపట్టుకొని షెకెము నుండియు షిలోహు నుండియు షోమ్రోనునుండియు రాగా

5. that men came in from Shechem, from Shiloh, and from Samaria, eighty men, with beards shaven and clothes rent who also had cut themselves, with a meal-offering and frankincense in their hand, to bring them into the house of Yahweh.

6. నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు దారి పొడుగున ఏడ్చుచు, వారిని ఎదుర్కొనుటకు మిస్పాలోనుండి బయలు వెళ్లి వారిని కలిసికొని వారితో అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యా యొద్దకు రండనెను.

6. Then went forth Ishmael son of Nethaniah to meet them out of Mizpah, weeping all along as he went, and it came to pass when he fell in with them, that he said unto them, Come ye in unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam.

7. అయితే వారు ఆ పట్టణము మధ్యను ప్రవేశించినప్పుడు నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును అతనితోకూడ ఉన్నవారును వారిని చంపి గోతిలో పడవేసిరి.

7. And so it was when they had come into the midst of the city, that Ishmael son of Nethaniah slew them and east them into the midst of a pit, he and the men who were with him.

8. అయితే వారిలో పదిమంది మనుష్యులు ఇష్మాయేలుతో పొలములలో దాచబడిన గోధుమలు యవలు తైలము తేనె మొదలైన ద్రవ్యములు మాకు కలవు, మమ్మును చంపకుమని చెప్పుకొనగా అతడు వారి సహోదరులతో కూడ వారిని చంపక మానెను.

8. But, ten men, were found among them, who said unto Ishmael Do not put us to death, for we have secret treasures in the field, wheat and barley and oil and honey, So he forbare and put them not to death in the midst of their brethren.

9. ఇష్మాయేలు గెదల్యాతోకూడ చంపిన మనుష్యుల శవములన్నిటిని పడవేసిన గోయి రాజైన ఆసా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన బయషాకు భయపడి త్రవ్వించిన గొయ్యియే; నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు చంపబడినవారి శవములతో దాని నింపెను.

9. Now the pit whereinto Ishmael cast all the dead bodies of the men whom he had smitten, was a large pit which King Asa had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel, the same, did Ishmael son of Nethaniah fill with the slain,

10. అప్పుడు ఇష్మాయేలు మిస్పాలోనున్న జనశేష మంతటిని రాజ కుమార్తెలనందరిని అనగా రాజదేహసంరక్షకుల కధిపతియైన నెబూజరదాను అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాకు అప్పగించిన జనులందరిని, చెరతీసికొనిపోయెను. నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు వారిని చెరతీసికొనిపోయి అమ్మోనీయులయొద్దకు చేరవలెనని ప్రయత్నపడుచుండగా

10. Then did Ishmael take captive all the remnant of the people that was in Mizpah, the daughters of the king, and all the people that were left remaining in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan chief of the royal executioners had committed unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, yea Ishmael son of Nethaniah took them captive, and departed to pass over unto the sons of Ammon.

11. కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానును అతనితోకూడనున్న సేనాధిపతులందరును నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు చేసిన సమస్త దుష్కార్యములను గూర్చిన వార్త విని

11. But when Johanan son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him heard of all the wickedness which Ishmael son of Nethaniah had done,

12. పురుషులనందరిని పిలుచుకొని, నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలుతో యుద్ధము చేయబోయి, గిబియోనులోనున్న మహా జలముల దగ్గర అతని కలిసికొనిరి.

12. then took they all the men, and went their way to fight with Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and found him near the many waters which were in Gibeon.

13. ఇష్మాయేలుతో కూడనున్న ప్రజలందరు కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానును, అతనితో కూడనున్న సేనాధిపతులనందరిని చూచినప్పుడు వారు సంతోషించి

13. And it came to pass, when all the people who were with Ishmael saw Johanan son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces who were with him, then were they glad.

14. ఇష్మాయేలు మిస్పాలో నుండి చెరగొనిపోయిన ప్రజలందరు అతని విడిచి కారేహ కుమారుడైన యెహానానుతో కలిసిరి.

14. So all the people whom Ishmael had carried away captive out of Mizpah, compassed about, and returned and went their way unto Johanan son of Kareah.

15. అయినను, నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలును ఎనమండుగురు మనుష్యులును యోహానాను చేతిలోనుండి తప్పించుకొని అమ్మోనీయుల యొద్దకు పారి పోయిరి.

15. But, Ishmael son of Nethaniah, escaped with eight men, from the face of Johanan, and departed unto the sons of Ammon.

16. అప్పుడు నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాను చంపిన తరువాత,

16. Then did Johanan son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces who were with him take all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael son of Nethaniah out of Mizpah, after he had smitten Gedaliah son of Ahikam, mighty men, men of war, and women and children and eunuchs, whom he had recovered out of Gibeon;

17. కారేహ కుమారుడైన యోహానానును అతనితో కూడనున్న సేనల యధిపతులందరును మిస్పా దగ్గరనుండి ఇష్మాయేలు నొద్దనుండి జనశేషమంతటిని, అనగా గిబియోను దగ్గరనుండి ఇష్మాయేలు కొనిపోయిన యోధులను స్త్రీలను పిల్లలను, రాజపరివారమును మరల రప్పించిరి;

17. and they departed, and dwelt in the khan of Chimham, which is near Bethlehem, that they might go to enter Egypt;

18. అయితే వారు బబులోనురాజు దేశముమీద అధికారినిగా నియమించిన అహీకాము కుమారుడైన గెదల్యాను నెతన్యా కుమారుడైన ఇష్మాయేలు చంపినందున వారు కల్దీయులకు భయపడి ఐగుప్తునకు వెళ్లుదమనుకొని బేత్లెహేముదగ్గరనున్న గెరూతు కింహాములో దిగిరి.

18. because of the Chaldeans, for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael son of Nethaniah had smitten Gedaliah son of Ahikam, whom the king of Babylon had set in charge over the land.
