1. అన్యజనులనుగూర్చి ప్రవక్తయైన యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యెహోవా వాక్కు

1. THE WORD of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning and against the [Gentile] nations.

2. ఐగుప్తునుగూర్చిన మాట, అనగా యోషీయా కుమారుడును యూదారాజునైన యెహోయాకీము ఏలుబడియందు నాలుగవ సంవత్సరమున నెబుకద్రెజరు కర్కెమీషులో యూఫ్రటీసునదిదగ్గర ఓడించిన ఫరోనెకో దండును గూర్చిన మాట.

2. Concerning and against Egypt: against the army of Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates at Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote and defeated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah: [Isa. 19-20; Ezek. 29-32;Zech. 14:18, 19.]

3. డాలును కేడెమును స్థిరపరచుకొనుడి యుద్ధమునకు రండి

3. Put in order the buckler and shield, and advance for battle!

4. గుఱ్ఱములను కట్టుడి, రౌతులారా, కవచము తొడిగి ఎక్కుడి శిరస్త్రాణములను ధరించుకొనుడి ఈటెలకు పదును పెట్టుడి కవచములు వేసికొనుడి.

4. Harness the horses, and mount, you horsemen! Stand forth with your helmets! Polish the spears, put on the coats of mail!

5. నాకేమి కనబడుచున్నది? వారు ఓడిపోవుచున్నారు వెనుకతీయుచున్నారు వారి బలాఢ్యులు అపజయము నొందుచున్నారు తిరిగిచూడక వేగిరముగా పారిపోవుచున్నారు ఎటుచూచిన భయమే; యెహోవా మాట యిదే.

5. Why have I seen it? They are dismayed and have turned backward, and their mighty warriors are beaten down. They flee in haste and look not back; terror is on every side! says the Lord. [Ps. 31:13; Jer. 6:25; 20:3, 10; 49:29.]

6. త్వరగ పరుగెత్తువారు పారిపోజాలకున్నారు బలాఢ్యులు తప్పించుకొనజాలకున్నారు ఉత్తరదిక్కున యూఫ్రటీసు నదీతీరమందు వారు తొట్రిల్లిపడుచున్నారు.

6. Let not the swift flee nor the mighty man escape; in the north by the river Euphrates they stumble and fall.

7. నైలునదీప్రవాహమువలె వచ్చు నితడెవడు? ఇతని జలములు నదులవలె ప్రవహించుచున్నవి

7. Who is this that rises up like the Nile [River], like the branches [of the Nile in the delta of Egypt] whose waters surge and toss?

8. ఐగుప్తీయుల దండు నైలునదివలె ప్రవహించుచున్నది. దాని జలములు తొణకునట్లుగా అది వచ్చుచున్నది. నేనెక్కి భూమిని కప్పెదనుపట్టణమును దాని నివాసులను నాశనము చేసెదను.

8. Egypt rises like the Nile, like the rivers whose waters surge and toss. She says, I will rise, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and their inhabitants.

9. గుఱ్ఱములారా, యెగురుడి; రథములారా, రేగుడి బలాఢ్యులారా, బయలుదేరుడి డాళ్లు పట్టుకొను కూషీయులును పూతీయులును విలుకాండ్రైన లూదీయులును బయలుదేరవలెను.

9. Go up, you horses, and drive furiously, you chariots! Let the warriors go forth--men of Ethiopia and Put who handle the shield, men of Lud who are skilled in handling and stringing the bow.

10. ఇది ప్రభువును సైన్యములకధిపతియునగు యెహోవాకు పగతీర్చు దినము. ఆయన తన శత్రువులకు ప్రతిదండనచేయును ఖడ్గము కడుపార తినును, అది తనివితీర రక్తము త్రాగును. ఉత్తర దేశములో యూఫ్రటీసునదియొద్ద ప్రభువును సైన్యముల కధిపతియునగు యెహోవా బలి జరి గింప బోవుచున్నాడు.

10. But that day is a day of the Lord, the Lord of hosts--a day of vengeance, that He may avenge Himself on His adversaries. And the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiated and shall drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, the Lord of hosts has a sacrifice [like that of a great sin offering] in the north country by the river Euphrates.

11. ఐగుప్తుకుమారీ, కన్యకా, గిలాదునకు వెళ్లి గుగ్గిలము తెచ్చుకొనుము విస్తారమైన ఔషధములు తెచ్చుకొనుట వ్యర్థమే నీకు చికిత్స కలుగదు

11. Go up into Gilead and take [healing] balm, O Virgin Daughter of Egypt! In vain do you use many medicines; for you there is no healing or remedy.

12. నీకు సిగ్గుకలిగిన సంగతి జనములకు వినబడెను నీ రోదనధ్వని దేశమందంతట వినబడుచున్నది బలాఢ్యులు బలాఢ్యులను తగిలి కూలుచున్నారు ఒకనిమీద ఒకడు పడి అందరు కూలుదురు.

12. The nations have heard of your disgrace and shame, and your cry has filled the earth. For warrior has stumbled against and thrown down warrior, and they have fallen both of them together.

13. బబులోనురాజైన నెబుకద్రెజరు బయలుదేరి వచ్చి ఐగుప్తీయులను హతముచేయుటను గూర్చి యిర్మీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యెహోవా వాక్కు.

13. The word that the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the coming of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon and his smiting of the land of Egypt:

14. ఐగుప్తులో తెలియజేయుడి మిగ్దోలులో ప్రకటింపుడి నొపులోను తహపనేసులోను ప్రకటనచేయుడి ఏమనగాఖడ్గము నీ చుట్టునున్న ప్రదేశములను మింగివేయుచున్నది మీరు లేచి ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొనుడి.

14. Declare in Egypt and proclaim in Migdol; and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes; say, Stand forth and get yourself ready, for the sword devours round about you.

15. నీలో బలవంతులైన వారేల తుడుపు పెట్టబడు చున్నారు? యెహోవా వారిని తోలివేయుచున్నాడు గనుకనే వారు నిలువకున్నారు.

15. Why is your strong one [the sacred bull-god Apis] swept and dragged away? He stood not, because the Lord drove him and thrust him down.

16. ఆయన అనేకులను తొట్రిల్ల జేయుచున్నాడు వారొకనిమీద ఒకడు కూలుచు లెండి, క్రూరమైన ఖడ్గమును తప్పించుకొందము రండి మన స్వజనులయొద్దకు మన జన్మభూమికి వెళ్లుదము రండి అని వారు చెప్పుకొందురు.

16. [The Lord] made many to stumble and fall; yes, they fell one upon another. And they said, Arise, and let us go back to our own people and to the land of our birth, away from the sword of the oppressor.

17. ఐగుప్తురాజగు ఫరో యుక్తసమయము పోగొట్టుకొను వాడనియు వట్టిధ్వని మాత్రమేయని వారచ్చట చాటించిరి.

17. They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is destroyed and is only a noise; he has let the appointed time [in which God had him on probation] pass by!

18. పర్వతములలో తాబోరు ఎట్టిదో సముద్రప్రాంతములలో కర్మెలు ఎట్టిదో నా జీవముతోడు అతడు అట్టివాడై వచ్చును రాజును సైన్యములకధిపతియునగు యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదే.

18. As I live, says the King, Whose name is the Lord of hosts, surely like Tabor among the mountains and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he [the king of Babylon, standing out above other rulers] come.

19. ఐగుప్తు నివాసులారా, నొపు పాడైపోవును అది నిర్జనమై కాల్చబడును ప్రయాణమునకు కావలసినవాటిని సిద్ధపరచుకొనుడి.

19. O you daughter who dwells in Egypt and you who dwell with her, furnish yourselves [with all you will need] to go into exile, for Memphis will be waste, desolate, and burned up, without inhabitant.

20. ఐగుప్తు అందమైన పెయ్య ఉత్తరదిక్కుననుండి జోరీగ వచ్చుచున్నది వచ్చే యున్నది.

20. Egypt is a very fair heifer [like Apis the bull-god, to which the country is, so to speak, espoused], but destruction [a gadfly] is coming--out of the north it is coming [against her]!

21. పరదేశులైన ఆమె కూలి సిఫాయిలు పెంపుడు దూడల వలె ఉన్నారు వారేగదా వెనుకతట్టు తిరిగిరి యొకడును నిలువకుండ పారిపోయిరి వారికి ఆపద్దినము వచ్చియున్నది శిక్షాదినము వారికాసన్నమాయెను.

21. Also her hired troops in the midst of her are like fatted calves [in the stall], for they also are turned back and are fleeing together; they do not stand, because the day of their calamity is coming upon them, the time of their visitation (their inspection and punishment).

22. శత్రువులు దండెత్తి వచ్చుచున్నారు మ్రానులు నరుకువారివలె గొడ్డండ్లు పట్టుకొని దాని మీదికి వచ్చుచున్నారు ఆలకించుడి ఆమె ధ్వని ప్రాకిపోవు పాము చప్పుడు వలె వినబడుచున్నది యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదే

22. The sound [of Egypt fleeing from the enemy] is like the rustling of an escaping serpent, for her foes advance with a mighty army and come against her with axes, like those who fell trees and cut wood.

23. లెక్కలేనివారై మిడతలకన్న విస్తరింతురు చొర శక్యముకాని ఆమె అరణ్యమును నరికివేయు దురు.

23. They shall cut down her forest, says the Lord, though it is impenetrable, because they [the invading army] are more numerous than locusts and cannot be counted.

24. ఐగుప్తు కూమారి అవమానపరచబడును ఉత్తరదేశస్థులకు ఆమె అప్పగింపబడును

24. The Daughter of Egypt shall be disgraced; she shall be delivered into the hands of the people of the north [the Chaldeans].

25. ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడును సైన్యములకధిపతియునగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నోలోనుండు ఆమోను దేవతను ఫరోను ఐగుప్తును దాని దేవతలను దాని రాజులను ఫరోను అతని నాశ్రయించువారిని నేను దండించు చున్నాను.

25. The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, says: Behold, I will visit punishment upon Amon [the chief god of the sacred city, the capital of Upper Egypt] of No or Thebes, and upon Pharaoh and Egypt, with her gods and her kings--even Pharaoh and all those [Jews and others] who put their trust in [Pharaoh as a support against Babylon].

26. వారి ప్రాణము తీయజూచు బబులోనురాజైన నెబుకద్రెజరు చేతికిని అతని సేవకులచేతికిని వారిని అప్పగించుచున్నాను ఆ తరువాత అది మునుపటివలెనే నివాసస్థలమగును ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

26. And I will deliver them into the hands of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and into the hands of his servants. Afterward [Egypt] will be inhabited as in the days of old, says the Lord.

27. నా సేవకుడవైన యాకోబూ, భయపడకుము ఇశ్రాయేలూ, జడియకుము దూరములోనుండి నిన్ను రక్షించుచున్నాను వారున్న చెరలోనుండి నీ సంతతివారిని రక్షించుచున్నాను ఎవరి భయమును లేకుండ యాకోబు తిరిగివచ్చును అతడు నిమ్మళించి నెమ్మదినొందును.

27. But fear not, O My servant Jacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel. For behold, I will save you from afar, and your offspring from the land of their exile; and Jacob will return and be quiet and at ease, and none will make him afraid.

28. నా సేవకుడవైన యాకోబు, నేను నీకు తోడై యున్నాను భయపడకుము నేనెక్కడికి నిన్ను చెదరగొట్టితినో ఆ సమస్త దేశప్రజలను సమూల నాశనము చేసెదను అయితే నిన్ను సమూల నాశనము చేయను నిన్ను శిక్షింపక విడువను గాని న్యాయమునుబట్టి నిన్ను శిక్షించెదను ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

28. Fear not, O Jacob My servant, says the Lord, for I am with you. For I will make a full and complete end of all the nations to which I have driven you; yet I will not make a full end of you. But I will chasten and correct you in just measure, and I will not hold you guiltless by any means or leave you unpunished.
