1. నా జనులలో హతమైనవారినిగూర్చి నేను దివారాత్రము కన్నీరు విడుచునట్లు నా తల జలమయము గాను నా కన్ను కన్నీళ్ల ఊటగాను ఉండును గాక.

1. If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the Lord, return to me: if thou wilt take away thy stumblingblocks out of my sight, thou shalt not be moved.

2. నా జనులందరు వ్యభిచారులును ద్రోహుల సమూహమునై యున్నారు. అహహా, అరణ్యములో బాటసారుల బస నాకు దొరికిన ఎంత మేలు? నేను నా జనులను విడిచి వారియొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోవుదును.

2. And thou shalt swear: As the Lord liveth, in truth, and in judgement, and in justice: and the Gentiles shall bless him, and shall praise him.

3. విండ్లను త్రొక్కి వంచునట్లు అబద్ధమాడుటకై వారు తమ నాలుకను వంచుదురు; దేశములో తమకున్న బలమును నమ్మకముగా ఉపయోగపరచరు. నన్ను ఎరుగక కీడువెంట కీడు చేయుచు ప్రవర్తించుచున్నారు; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

3. For thus saith the Lord to the men of Juda and Jerusalem: Break up anew your fallow ground, and sow not upon thorns:

4. మీలో ప్రతివాడును తన పొరుగు వాని విషయమై జాగ్రత్తగా నుండవలెను; ఏ సహోదరునినైనను నమ్మకుడి, నిజముగా ప్రతి సహోదరుడును తంత్రగొట్టయి తన సహోదరుని కొంపముంచును; ప్రతి పొరుగువాడును కొండెములు చెప్పుటకై తిరుగులాడుచున్నాడు.

4. Be circumcised to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your hearts, ye men of Juda, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my indignation come forth like fire, and burn, and there be none that can quench it: because of the wickedness of your thoughts.

5. సత్యము పలుకక ప్రతివాడును తన పొరుగువానిని వంచించును, అబద్ధములాడుట తమ నాలుకలకు అభ్యాసముచేసియున్నారు, ఎదుటివాని తప్పులు పట్టవలెనని ప్రయాసపడుదురు.

5. Declare ye in Juda, and make it heard in Jerusalem: speak, and sound with the trumpet in the land: cry aloud, and say: Assemble yourselves, and let us go into strong cities.

6. నీ నివాసస్థలము కాపట్యము మధ్యనే యున్నది, వారు కపటులై నన్ను తెలిసికొననొల్లకున్నారు; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

6. Set up the standard in Sion. Strengthen yourselves, stay not: for I bring evil from the north, and great destruction.

7. కావున సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడుఆలకింపుము, వారిని చొక్కము చేయునట్లుగా నేను వారిని కరగించుచున్నాను, నా జనులనుబట్టి నేను మరేమి చేయుదును?

7. The lion is come up out of his den, and the robber of nations hath roused himself: he is come forth out of his place, to make thy land desolate: thy cities shall be laid waste, remaining without an inhabitant.

8. వారి నాలుక ఘాతుక బాణము, అది కాపట్యము పలుకుచున్నది; ఒకడు మనస్సులో వంచనాభిప్రాయముంచుకొని, నోట తన పొరుగువానితో సమాధానముగా మాటలాడును.

8. For this gird yourselves with haircloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the Lord is not turned away from us.

9. నేను ఈ సంగతులను తెలిసికొని వారిని శిక్షింపకపోదునా? ఇట్టి జనులకు నేను ప్రతిదండన చేయకుందునా? ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు.

9. And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord: That the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes: and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall be amazed.

10. పర్వతముల విషయమై రోదనమును అంగలార్పును చేయుదును; అరణ్యములోని మేతస్థలములనుబట్టి విలాపము చేయుదును; అవి పాడాయెను. సంచారము చేయువాడెవడును లేడు, పశువుల అరుపులు వినబడవు, ఆకాశ పక్షులును జంతువులును పారిపోయి యున్నవి, అవి తొలగిపోయి యున్నవి.

10. And I said: Alas, alas, alas, O Lord God, hast thou then deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying: You shall have peace: and behold the sword reacheth even to the soul?

11. యెరూషలేమును పాడు దిబ్బలుగాను నక్కలకు చోటుగాను నేను చేయున్నాను, యూదా పట్టణములను నివాసిలేని పాడు స్థలముగా చేయుచున్నాను.

11. At that time it shall be said to this people, and to Jerusalem: A burning wind is in the ways that are in the desert of the way of the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse.

12. ఈ సంగతిని గ్రహింపగల జ్ఞాని యెవడు? దానిని వాడు తెలియజేయునట్లు యెహోవా నోటి మాట ఎవనికి వచ్చెను?ఎవడును సంచరింపకుండ ఆ దేశము ఎడారివలె ఏల కాలిపోయి పాడాయెను?

12. A full wind from these places shall come to me: and now I will speak my judgments with them.

13. అందుకు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడువారు నా మాట వినకయు దాని ననుసరింపకయు, నేను వారికి నియమించిన నా ధర్మశాస్త్రమును విసర్జించి

13. Behold he shall come up as a cloud, and his chariots as a tempest: his horses are swifter than eagles: woe unto us, for we are laid waste.

14. తమ హృదయమూర్ఖతచొప్పున జరిగించుటకై తమ పితరులు తమకు నేర్పినట్లు బయలు దేవతలను అనుసరించుచున్నారు గనుకనే వారి దేశము పాడైపోయెను.

14. Wash thy heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, that thou mayst be saved: how long shall hurtful thoughts abide in thee?

15. సైన్యములకధిపతియు ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడునగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు నేను ఈ ప్రజలకు చేదుకూరలు తినిపింతును, విషజలము త్రాగింతును.

15. For a voice of one declaring from Dan, and giving notice of the idol from mount Ephraim.

16. తామైనను తమ పితరులైనను ఎరుగని జనములలోనికి వారిని చెదరగొట్టు దును, వారిని నిర్మూలముచేయువరకు వారి వెంబడి ఖడ్గ మును పంపుదును.

16. Say ye to the nations: Behold it is heard in Jerusalem, that guards are coming from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Juda.

17. సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఆలోచింపుడి, రోదనము చేయు స్త్రీలను కనుగొనుడి వారిని పిలువనంపుడి, తెలివిగల స్త్రీలను కనుగొనుడి వారిని పిలువనంపుడి.

17. They are set round about her, as keepers of fields: because she hath provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord.

18. మన కన్నులు కన్నీళ్లు విడుచునట్లుగాను మన కనురెప్పలనుండి నీళ్లు ఒలుకునట్లుగాను వారు త్వరపడి మనకు రోదనధ్వని చేయవలెను.

18. They ways, and thy devices have brought these things upon thee: this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it hath touched thy heart.

19. మనము వలసబోతిమే సిగ్గునొందితిమే, వారు మన నివాసములను పడగొట్టగా మనము దేశము విడువవలసివచ్చెనే అని సీయోనులో రోదనధ్వని వినబడు చున్నది.

19. My bowels, my bowels are in pain, the senses of my heart are troubled within me, I will not hold my peace, for my soul hath heard the sound of the trumpet, the cry of battle.

20. స్త్రీలారా, యెహోవా మాట వినుడి మీరు చెవియొగ్గి ఆయన నోటిమాట ఆలకించుడి, మీ కుమార్తెలకు రోదనము చేయనేర్పుడి, ఒకరికొకరు అంగలార్పు విద్య నేర్పుడి.

20. Destruction upon destruction is called for, and all the earth is laid waste: my tents are destroyed on a sudden, and my pavilions in a moment.

21. వీధులలో పసిపిల్లలు లేకుండను, రాజ మార్గములలో ¸యౌవనులు లేకుండను, వారిని నాశనము చేయుటకై మరణము మన కిటికీలను ఎక్కుచున్నది, మన నగరులలో ప్రవేశించుచున్నది.

21. How long shall I see men fleeing away, how long shall I hear the sound of the trumpet?

22. యెహోవా వాక్కు ఇదేనీవీమాట చెప్పుముచేలమీద పెంటపడునట్లు పంట కోయు వాని వెనుక పిడికిళ్లు పడునట్లు ఎవడును సమకూర్చ కుండ మనుష్యుల శవములు పడును, వాటిని కూర్చువాడెవడును లేకపోవును.

22. For my foolish people have not known me: they are foolish and senseless children: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

23. యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు జ్ఞాని తన జ్ఞానమునుబట్టియు శూరుడు తన శౌర్యమునుబట్టియు అతిశయింపకూడదు, ఐశ్వర్యవంతుడు తన ఐశ్వర్యమునుబట్టి అతిశయింపకూడదు.

23. I beheld the earth, and lo it was void, and nothing: and the heavens, and there was no light in them.

24. అతిశయించువాడు దేనినిబట్టి అతిశయింపవలెననగా, భూమిమీద కృపచూపుచు నీతి న్యాయములు జరిగించుచునున్న యెహోవాను నేనేయని గ్రహించి నన్ను పరిశీలనగా తెలిసికొనుటనుబట్టియే అతి శయింపవలెను; అట్టి వాటిలో నేనానందించువాడనని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు.

24. I looked upon the mountains, and behold they trembled: and all the hills were troubled.

25. I beheld, and lo there was no man: and all the birds of the air were gone.

26. I looked, and behold Carmel was a wilderness: and all its cities were destroyed at the presence of the Lord, and at the presence of the wrath of his indignation.
