1. జనభరితమైన పట్టణము ఎట్లు ఏకాకియై దుఃఖా క్రాంతమాయెను? అది విధవరాలివంటిదాయెను. అన్యజనులలో ఘనతకెక్కినది సంస్థానములలో రాచకుమార్తెయైనది ఎట్లు పన్ను చెల్లించునదైపోయెను?

1. Alas! The city once full of people now sits all alone! The prominent lady among the nations has become a widow! The princess who once ruled the provinces has become a forced laborer!&u05D1; (Bet)

2. రాత్రియందు అది బహుగా ఏడ్చుచున్నది కన్నీరు దాని చెంపలమీద కారుచున్నది దాని విటకాండ్రందరిలో దాని నోదార్చువాడొకడును లేడు దాని చెలికాండ్రందరు దాని మోసపుచ్చిరి వారు దానికి శత్రువులైరి.

2. She weeps bitterly at night; tears stream down her cheeks. She has no one to comfort her among all her lovers. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies.&u05D2; (Gimel)

3. Judah has departed into exile under affliction and harsh oppression. She lives among the nations; she has found no resting place. All who pursued her overtook her in narrow straits.&u05D3; (Dalet)

4. సీయోను మార్గములు ప్రలాపించుచున్నవి పట్టణపు గుమ్మములన్నియు పాడైపోయెను యాజకులు నిట్టూర్పు విడుచుచున్నారు దాని కన్యకలు దుఃఖాక్రాంతులైరి అదియు వ్యాకులభరితురాలాయెను.

4. The roads to Zion mourn because no one travels to the festivals. All her city gates are deserted; her priests groan. Her virgins grieve; she is in bitter anguish!&u05D4; (He)

6. సీయోను కుమారి సౌందర్యమంతయు తొలగిపోయెను దాని యధిపతులు మేతలేని దుప్పులవలె ఉన్నారు వారు బలహీనులై తరుమువారియెదుట నిలువలేక పారి పోయిరి.

6. All of Daughter Zion's splendor has departed. Her leaders became like deer; they found no pasture, so they were too exhausted to escape from the hunter.&u05D6; (Zayin)

7. యెరూషలేము పూర్వకాలమున తనకు కలిగిన శ్రేయస్సు నంతటిని జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుచున్నది దానికి కలిగిన శ్రమానుభవ కాలమునందు సంచార దినములయందు సహాయము చేయువారెవరును లేక దాని జనము శత్రువుచేతిలో పడినప్పుడు విరోధులు దాని చూచి విశ్రాంతిదినములనుబట్టి దాని నపహాస్యము చేసిరి.

7. Jerusalem remembers, when she became a poor homeless person, all her treasures that she owned in days of old. When her people fell into an enemy's grip, none of her allies came to her rescue. Her enemies gloated over her; they sneered at her downfall.&u05D7; (Khet)

8. యెరూషలేము ఘోరమైన పాపముచేసెను అందుచేతను అది అపవిత్రురాలాయెను దాని ఘనపరచిన వారందరు దాని మానమును చూచి దాని తృణీకరించుదురు. అది నిట్టూర్పు విడుచుచు వెనుకకు తిరుగుచున్నది

8. Jerusalem committed terrible sin; therefore she became an object of scorn. All who admired her have despised her because they have seen her nakedness. She groans aloud and turns away in shame.&u05D8; (Tet)

9. Her menstrual flow has soiled her clothing; she did not consider the consequences of her sin. Her demise was astonishing, and there was no one to comfort her. She cried, 'Look, O LORD, on my affliction because my enemy boasts!'&u05D9; (Yod)

10. An enemy grabbed all her valuables. Indeed she watched in horror as Gentiles invaded her holy temple those whom you had commanded: 'They must not enter your assembly place.'&u05DB; (Kaf)

11. దాని కాపురస్థులందరు నిట్టూర్పు విడుచుచు ఆహా రము వెదకుదురు తమ ప్రాణసంరక్షణకొరకు తమ మనోహరమైన వస్తువుల నిచ్చి ఆహారము కొందురు. యెహోవా, నేను నీచుడనైతిని దృష్టించి చూడుము.

11. All her people groaned as they searched for a morsel of bread. They exchanged their valuables for just enough food to stay alive. 'Look, O LORD! Consider that I have become worthless!'&u05DC; (Lamed)

12. త్రోవను నడుచువారలారా, ఈలాగు జరుగుట చూడగా మీకు చింతలేదా? యెహోవా తన ప్రచండకోప దినమున నాకు కలుగజేసిన శ్రమవంటి శ్రమ మరి ఎవరికైనను కలిగినదో లేదో మీరు నిదానించి చూడుడి.

12. Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by on the road? Look and see! Is there any pain like mine? The Lord has afflicted me, he has inflicted it on me when he burned with anger.&u05DE; (Mem)

14. కాడి కట్టినట్లుగా తానే నా యపరాధములను నాకు కట్టియున్నాడు అవి పైన వేయబడినవై నా మెడమీదికెక్కెను నా బలమును ఆయన బలహీనతగా చేసియున్నాడు ప్రభువు శత్రువులచేతికి నన్ను అప్పగించియున్నాడు నేను వారియెదుట లేవలేకపోతిని.

14. My sins are bound around my neck like a yoke; they are fastened together by his hand. He has placed his yoke on my neck; he has sapped my strength. The Lord has handed me over to those whom I cannot resist.&u05E1; (Samek)

15. He rounded up all my mighty ones; The Lord did this in my midst. He summoned an assembly against me to shatter my young men. The Lord has stomped like grapes the virgin daughter, Judah.&u05E2; (Ayin)

17. ఆదరించువాడులేక సీయోను చేతులు చాపుచున్నది యెహోవా యాకోబునకు చుట్టునున్నవారిని విరోధులైయుండ నియమించియున్నాడు యెరూషలేము వారికి హేయమైనదాయెను.

17. Zion spread out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has issued a decree against Jacob; his neighbors have become his enemies. Jerusalem has become like filthy garbage in their midst.&u05E6; (Tsade)

18. యెహోవా న్యాయస్థుడు నేను ఆయన ఆజ్ఞకు తిరుగుబాటు చేసితిని సకల జనములారా, చిత్తగించి ఆలకించుడి నా శ్రమ చూడుడి నా కన్యకలును నా ¸యౌవనులును చెరలోనికిపోయి యున్నారు

18. The LORD is right to judge me! Yes, I rebelled against his commands. Please listen, all you nations, and look at my suffering! My young women and men have gone into exile.&u05E7; (Qof)

19. నా విటకాండ్రను నేను పిలువనంపగా వారు నన్ను మోసపుచ్చిరి నా యాజకులును నా పెద్దలును ప్రాణసంరక్షణకై ఆహారము వెదకపోయి పట్టణములో ప్రాణము విడిచినవారైరి.

19. I called for my lovers, but they had deceived me. My priests and my elders perished in the city. Truly they had searched for food to keep themselves alive.&u05E8; (Resh)

20. యెహోవా, దృష్టించుము నాకు ఇబ్బంది కలిగెను నా అంతరంగము క్షోభిల్లుచున్నది నేను చేసిన గొప్ప ద్రోహమునుబట్టి నా గుండె నాలోపల కొట్టుకొనుచున్నది వీధులలో ఖడ్గము జననష్టము చేయుచున్నది ఇండ్లలో నానా మరణకర వ్యాధులున్నవి.

20. Look, O LORD! I am distressed; my stomach is in knots! My heart is pounding inside me. Yes, I was terribly rebellious! Out in the street the sword bereaves a mother of her children; Inside the house death is present.&u05E9; (Sin/Shin)

21. నేను నిట్టూర్పు విడుచుట విని నన్నాదరించువాడొకడును లేడాయెను నీవు నాకు ఆపద కలుగజేసితివన్న వార్త నా విరోధులందరు విని సంతోషించుచున్నారు. నీవు చాటించిన దినమును నీవు రప్పించుదువు అప్పుడు వారు నన్ను పోలియుండెదరు.

21. They have heard that I groan, yet there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have brought it about. Bring about the day of judgment that you promised so that they may end up like me!&u05EA; (Tav)

22. వారు చేసిన దుష్కార్యములన్నియు నీ సన్నిధినుండును నేను బహుగా నిట్టూర్పులు విడుచుచున్నాను నా మనస్సు క్రుంగిపోయెను నేను చేసిన అపరాధములన్నిటినిబట్టి నీవు నాకు చేసినట్లు వారికి చేయుము.

22. Let all their wickedness come before you; afflict them just as you have afflicted me because of all my acts of rebellion. For my groans are many, and my heart is sick with sorrow.&u05D0; (Alef)
