1. పారసీకరాజగు కోరెషు పరిపాలన కాలములో మూడవ సంవత్సరమున బెల్తెషాజరు అను దానియేలునకు ఒక సంగతి బయలుపరచబడెను; గొప్ప యుద్ధము జరుగు నన్న ఆ సంగతి నిజమే; దానియేలు దాని గ్రహించెను; అది దర్శనమువలన అతనికి తెలిసిన దాయెను.

1. In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia, a thing is revealed to Daniel, whose name is called Belteshazzar, and the thing [is] true, and the warfare [is] great: and he hath understood the thing, and hath understanding about the appearance.

2. ఆ దినముల యందు దానియేలను నేను మూడు వారములు దుఃఖ ప్రాప్తుడనైతిని.

2. 'In those days, I, Daniel, have been mourning three weeks of days;

3. మూడు వారములు గడచువరకు నేను సంతోషముగా భోజనము చేయలేకయుంటిని; మాంసము గాని ద్రాక్షారసము గాని నా నోటిలోనికి రాలేదు, స్నానాభిషేకములను చేసికొనలేదు.

3. desirable bread I have not eaten, and flesh and wine hath not come in unto my mouth, and I have not anointed myself at all, till the completion of three weeks of days.

4. మొదటి నెల యిరువది నాలుగవతేది నేను హిద్దెకెలను గొప్ప నది తీరమున ఉంటిని.

4. 'And in the twenty and fourth day of the first month, I have been by the side of the great river, that [is] Hiddekel:

5. నేను కన్నులెత్తిచూడగా, నారబట్టలు ధరించుకొన్న యొకడు కనబడెను, అతడు నడుమున మేలిమి బంగారు నడికట్టు కట్టుకొనియుండెను.

5. and I lift up mine eyes, and look, and lo, a certain one clothed in linen, and his loins girt with pure gold of Uphaz,

6. and his body as a beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet as the aspect of bright brass, and the voice of his words as the voice of a multitude.

7. దానియేలను నాకు ఈ దర్శ నము కలుగగా నాతోకూడనున్న మనుష్యులు దాని చూడలేదు గాని మిగుల భయాక్రాంతులై దాగుకొన వలెనని పారిపోయిరి.

7. 'And I have seen -- I, Daniel, by myself -- the appearance: and the men who have been with me have not seen the appearance, but a great trembling hath fallen on them, and they flee to be hidden;

8. నేను ఒంటరినై యా గొప్ప దర్శ నమును చూచితిని; చూచినందున నాలో బలమేమియు లేకపోయెను, నా సొగసు వికారమాయెను, బలము నా యందు నిలువలేదు.

8. and I have been left by myself, and I see this great appearance, and there hath been no power left in me, and my honour hath been turned in me to corruption, yea, I have not retained power.

9. నేను అతని మాటలు వింటిని; అతని మాటలు విని నేను నేలను సాష్టాంగపడి గాఢనిద్ర పొందినవాడనైతిని.

9. 'And I hear the voice of his words, and when I hear the voice of his words, then I have been in a trance on my face, and my face [is] to the earth;

10. అప్పుడొకడు చేతితో నన్ను ముట్టి నా మోకాళ్లను అఱచేతులను నేలమోపి నన్ను నిలువ బెట్టి

10. and lo, a hand hath come against me, and shaketh me on my knees and the palms of my hands.

11. దానియేలూ, నీవు బహు ప్రియుడవు గనుక నేను నీ యొద్దకు పంపబడితిని; నీవు లేచి నిలువబడి నేను నీతో చెప్పుమాటలు తెలిసికొనుమనెను. అతడీమాటలు నాతో చెప్పగా నేను వణకుచు నిలువబడితిని.

11. 'And he saith unto me: Daniel, man greatly desired, attend to the words that I am speaking unto thee, and stand on thy station, for now I have been sent unto thee. 'And when he speaketh with me this word, I have stood trembling.

12. అప్పుడతడు దానియేలూ, భయపడకుము, నీవు తెలిసికొన వలెనని నీ మనస్సును అప్పగించి, దేవుని యెదుట నిన్ను తగ్గించుకొనిన ఆ మొదటి దినము మొదలుకొని నీవు చెప్పిన మాటలు వినబడినవి గనుక నీ మాటలనుబట్టి నేను వచ్చితిని

12. And he saith unto me: Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that thou didst give thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words have been heard, and I have come because of thy words.

13. పారసీకుల రాజ్యాధిపతి ఇరువది యొక్క దినములు నన్ను ఎదిరించెను. ఇంక పారసీకుల రాజుల సముఖమున నేను నిలుచుచుండగా ప్రధానాధిపతులలో మిఖాయేలను ఒకడు నాకు సహాయము చేయవచ్చెను,

13. 'And the head of the kingdom of Persia is standing over-against me twenty and one days, and lo, Michael, first of the chief heads, hath come in to help me, and I have remained there near the kings of Persia;

14. ఈ దర్శనపు సంగతి ఇంక అనేక దినములవరకు జరుగదు; అయితే దినముల అంతమందు నీ జనమునకు సంభవింప బోవు ఈ సంగతిని నీకు తెలియజేయ వచ్చితినని అతడు నాతో చెప్పెను.

14. and I have come to cause thee to understand that which doth happen to thy people in the latter end of the days, for yet the vision [is] after days.

15. అతడీ మాటలు నాతో చెప్పగా నేను నా ముఖము నేలకు వంచుకొని మౌనినైతిని.

15. 'And when he speaketh with me about these things, I have set my face toward the earth, and have been silent;

16. అప్పుడు నరస్వరూపియగు ఒకడు నా పెదవులను ముట్టగా నేను నోరు తెరచి నాయెదుట నిలిచియున్న వానితో ఇట్లంటిని నా యేలినవాడా, యీ దర్శనమువలన నాకు వేదన కలిగినందున నా బలము తొలగిపోయెను,

16. and lo, as the manner of the sons of men, he is striking against my lips, and I open my mouth, and I speak, and say unto him who is standing over-against me: My lord, by the appearance turned have been my pangs against me, and I have retained no power.

17. నా యేలిన వాని దాసుడనైన నేను నా యేలినవాని యెదుట ఏలాగున మాట లాడుదును? నా బలము తొలగిపోయెను, ఊపిరి విడువలేక యున్నానని చెప్పగా

17. And how is the servant of this my lord able to speak with this my lord? as for me, henceforth there remaineth in me no power, yea, breath hath not been left in me.

18. అతడు మరల నన్ను ముట్టి నన్ను బలపరచి నీవు బహు ప్రియుడవు, భయ పడకుము,

18. 'And he addeth, and striketh against me, as the appearance of a man, and strengtheneth me,

19. నీకు శుభమవును గాక, ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొమ్ము. ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొమ్మని నాతో చెప్పెను. అతడు నాతో ఇట్లనగా నేను ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొనినీవు నన్ను ధైర్యపరచితివి గనుక నా యేలినవాడవైన నీవు ఆజ్ఞ ఇమ్మని చెప్పితిని.

19. and he saith: Do not fear, O man greatly desired, peace to thee, be strong, yea, be strong; and when he speaketh with me, I have strengthened myself, and I say, Let my lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me.

20. అతడు నేనెందుకు నీయొద్దకు వచ్చితినో అది నీకు తెలిసినది గదా; నేను పారసీకుడగు అధిపతితో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు మరల పోయెదను. నేను బయలుదేరుచుండగానే గ్రేకేయుల దేశముయొక్క అధిపతి వచ్చును.

20. And he saith, Hast thou known why I have come unto thee? and now I turn back to fight with the head of Persia; yea, I am going forth, and lo, the head of Javan hath come;

21. అయితే సత్యగ్రంథమందు వ్రాసినది నీతో చెప్పెదను, మీ యధిపతియగు మిఖాయేలు గాక యీ సంగతులనుగూర్చి నా పక్షముగా నిలువ తెగించిన వాడొకడును లేడు.

21. but I declare to thee that which is noted down in the Writing of Truth, and there is not one strengthening himself with me, concerning these, except Michael your head.
