1. రాజగు నెబుకద్నెజరు లోకమంతట నివసించు సకల జనులకును దేశస్థులకును ఆ యా భాషలు మాటలాడు వారికిని ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు మీకు క్షేమాభి వృద్ధి కలుగునుగాక.

1. I, King Nebuchadnezzar, am writing this letter. I am sending it to you people from every nation and language in the whole world. May you have great success!

2. మహోన్నతుడగు దేవుడు నా యెడల చేసిన అద్భుతములను సూచక క్రియలను మీకు తెలియజేయుటకు నాకు మనస్సు కలిగెను.

2. I am pleased to tell you what has happened. The Most High God has done miraculous signs and wonders for me.

3. ఆయన సూచక క్రియలు ఎంతో బ్రహ్మాండమైనవి; ఆయన అద్భుతములు ఎంతో ఘనమైనవి, ఆయన రాజ్యము శాశ్వత రాజ్యము; ఆయన ఆధిపత్యము తరతరములు నిలుచుచున్నది.

3. His miraculous signs are great. His wonders are mighty. His kingdom will last forever. His rule will never end.

4. I was at home in my palace. I was content and very successful.

5. నేను నా పడకమీద పరుండియుండగా నా మనస్సున పుట్టిన తలంపులు నన్ను కలతపెట్టెను.

5. But I had a dream that made me afraid. I was lying on my bed. Then dreams and visions passed through my mind. They terrified me.

6. కావున ఆ స్వప్నభావము నాకు తెలియజేయుటకై బబులోను జ్ఞానులనందరిని నా యెదుటికి పిలువనంపవలెనని ఆజ్ఞ నేనిచ్చితిని.

6. So I commanded that all of the wise men in Babylon be brought to me. I wanted them to tell me what my dream meant.

7. శకున గాండ్రును గారడీవిద్యగలవారును కల్దీయులును జ్యోతిష్యులును నా సన్నిధికి రాగా నేను కనిన కలను వారితో చెప్పితిని గాని వారు దాని భావమును నాకు తెలుపలేక పోయిరి.

7. Those who try to figure things out by using magic came. So did those who study the heavens. I told all of them what I had dreamed. But they couldn't tell me what it meant.

8. కడపట బెల్తెషాజరను నా దేవత పేరునుబట్టి బిరుదుపొందిన దానియేలను వాడు నా యెదుటికి వచ్చెను; పరిశుద్ధ దేవతల ఆత్మ అతనియందుండెను, కావున నేనతనికి నా కలను చెప్పితిని.

8. Finally, Daniel came to me. He is called Belteshazzar, after the name of my god. The spirit of the holy gods is in him. I told him my dream.

9. ఎట్లనగా శకునగాండ్ర అధిపతి యగు బెల్తెషాజరూ, పరిశుద్ధ దేవతల ఆత్మ నీయందున్న దనియు, ఏ మర్మము నిన్ను కలతపెట్టదనియు నేనెరుగుదును గనుక నేను కనిన కలయు దాని భావమును నాకు తెలియ జెప్పుము.

9. I said, 'Belteshazzar, you are chief of the magicians. I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you. No mystery is too hard for you to figure out. Here is my dream. Tell me what it means.

10. నేను నా పడకమీద పరుండియుండగా నాకు ఈ దర్శనములు కలిగెను; నేను చూడగా భూమిమధ్యను మిగుల ఎత్తుగల యొక చెట్టు కనబడెను.

10. 'Here are the visions I saw while I was lying on my bed. I looked up and saw a tree standing in the middle of the land. It was very tall.

11. ఆ చెట్టు వృద్ధి పొంది బ్రహ్మాండమైనదాయెను; దాని పైకొమ్మలు ఆకా శమునకంటునంత ఎత్తుగాను దాని ఆకారము భూతలమంత విశాలముగాను ఉండెను.

11. It had grown to be large and strong. Its top touched the sky. It could be seen anywhere on earth.

12. దాని ఆకులు సొగసుగాను దాని పండ్లు విస్తారముగాను కనబడెను. అందులో సమస్త జీవకోట్లకు చాలునంత ఆహారముండెను; దాని నీడను అడవిజంతువులు పండుకొనెను, దాని కొమ్మలలో ఆకాశ పక్షులు కూర్చుండెను; సకల మనుష్యులకు చాలునంత ఆహారము దానియందుండెను.

12. Its leaves were beautiful. It had a lot of fruit on it. It provided enough food for people and animals. Under the tree, the wild animals found shade. The birds of the air lived in its branches. Every creature was fed from that tree.

13. While I was still lying on my bed, I looked up. In my visions, I saw a holy messenger. He was coming down from heaven.

14. He called out in a loud voice. He said, 'Cut the tree down. Break off its branches. Strip its leaves off. Scatter its fruit. Let the animals that are under it run away. Let the birds that are in its branches fly off.

15. అయితే అది మంచునకు తడిసి పశువుల వలె పచ్చికలో నివసించునట్లు దాని మొద్దును ఇనుము ఇత్తడి కలిసిన కట్టుతో కట్టించి, పొలములోని గడ్డిపాలగు నట్లు దానిని భూమిలో విడువుడి.

15. But leave the stump with its roots in the ground. Let it stay in the field. Put a band of iron and bronze around it. ' 'Let King Nebuchadnezzar become wet with the dew of heaven. Let him live like the animals among the plants of the earth.

16. ఏడు కాలములు గడచువరకు వానికున్న మానవమనస్సునకు బదులుగా పశువు మనస్సు వానికి కలుగును.

16. Let him no longer have the mind of a man. Instead, let him be given the mind of an animal. Let him stay that way until seven periods of time pass by.

17. ' 'The decision is announced by holy messengers. So all who are alive will know that the Most High God is King. He rules over all of the kingdoms of men. He gives them to anyone he wants. Sometimes he puts the least important men in charge of them.'

18. బెల్తెషాజరూ, నెబుకద్నెజరను నాకు కలిగిన దర్శనము ఇదే; నీవు తప్ప నా రాజ్యములో మరి ఏ జ్ఞానియు దాని భావము నాకు చెప్ప నేరడు. నీయందు పరిశుద్ధ దేవతల ఆత్మయున్నది గనుక నీవేదానిని చెప్ప సమర్థుడ వంటిని.

18. 'That's the dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, had. Now tell me what it means, Belteshazzar. None of the wise men in my kingdom can explain it to me. But you can. After all, the spirit of the holy gods is in you.'

19. అందుకు బెల్తెషాజరను దానియేలు ఒక గంటసేపు అతి విస్మయమునొంది మనస్సునందు కలవరపడగా, రాజు - బెల్తెషాజరూ, యీ దర్శనమువలన గాని దాని భావము వలన గాని నీవు కలవరపడకుము అనెను. అంతట బెల్తెషాజరు నా యేలినవాడా, యీ దర్శనఫలము తమరిని ద్వేషించు వారికి కలుగునుగాక, దాని భావము తమరి శత్రువులకు చెందునుగాక,

19. Daniel, who was also called Belteshazzar, was very bewildered for a while. His thoughts terrified him. So the king said, 'Belteshazzar, don't let the dream or its meaning make you afraid.' Belteshazzar answered, 'My master, I wish the dream were about your enemies! I wish its meaning had to do with them!

20. తాము చూచిన చెట్టు వృద్ధి నొంది బ్రహ్మాండమైనదాయెను; దాని పైకొమ్మలు ఆకాశమునకంటునంత ఎత్తుగాను దాని ఆకారము భూతలమంత విశాలముగాను ఉండెను.

20. You saw a tree. It grew to be large and strong. Its top touched the sky. It could be seen from anywhere on earth.

21. దాని ఆకులు సొగసుగాను దాని పండ్లు విస్తారములుగాను కనబడెను, అందులో సమస్త జీవకోట్లకు చాలినంత ఆహారముండెను, దాని నీడను అడవిజంతువులు పండుకొనెను, దాని కొమ్మలలో ఆకాశపక్షులు కూర్చుండెనుగదా

21. Its leaves were beautiful. It had a lot of fruit on it. It provided enough food for people and animals. Under the tree, the wild animals found shade. The birds of the air lived in its branches.

22. రాజా, ఆ చెట్టు నిన్ను సూచించుచున్నది; నీవు వృద్ధిపొంది మహా బలముగలవాడ వైతివి; నీ ప్రభావము వృద్ధినొంది ఆకాశమంత ఎత్తాయెను; నీ ప్రభుత్వము లోకమంతట వ్యాపించియున్నది.

22. My king, you are that tree! You have become great and strong. Your greatness has grown until it reaches the sky. Your rule has spread to all parts of the earth.

23. చెట్టును నరుకుము, దాని నాశనము చేయుము గాని దాని మొద్దును భూమిలో ఉండనిమ్ము; ఇనుము ఇత్తిడి కలిసిన కట్టుతో ఏడు కాలములు గడచువరకు పొలములోని పచ్చికలో దాని కట్టించి, ఆకాశపుమంచుకు తడవనిచ్చి పశువులతో పాలుపొందనిమ్మని జాగరూకుడగు ఒక పరిశుద్ధుడు పరలోకమునుండి దిగివచ్చి ప్రకటించుట నీవు వింటివి గదా.

23. My king, you saw a holy messenger. He came down from heaven. He said, 'Cut the tree down. Destroy it. But leave the stump with its roots in the ground. Let it stay in the field. Put a band of iron and bronze around it. Let King Nebuchadnezzar become wet with the dew of heaven. Let him live like the wild animals. Let him stay that way until seven periods of time pass by.'

24. రాజా, యీ దర్శనభావమేదనగా, సర్వోన్నతుడగు దేవుడు రాజగు నా యేలినవానిగూర్చి చేసిన తీర్మానమేదనగా

24. My king and master, here is what your dream means. The Most High God has given an order against you.

25. తమయొద్ద నుండకుండ మనుష్యులు నిన్ను తరుముదురు, నీవు అడవి జంతువుల మధ్య నివాసము చేయుచు పశువులవలె గడ్డి తినెదవు; ఆకాశపు మంచు నీమీదపడి నిన్ను తడుపును; సర్వోన్నతుడగు దేవుడు మానవుల రాజ్యముపైన అధికారియై యున్నాడ నియు, తానెవనికి దాని ననుగ్రహింప నిచ్ఛయించునో వానికి అనుగ్రహించుననియు నీవు తెలిసికొనువరకు ఏడు కాల ములు నీకీలాగు జరుగును.

25. You will be driven away from people. You will live like the wild animals. You will eat grass just as cattle do. You will become wet with the dew of heaven. Seven periods of time will pass by for you. Then you will recognize that the Most High God rules over all of the kingdoms of men. He gives them to anyone he wants.

26. చెట్టుయొక్క మొద్దునుండ నియ్యుడని వారు చెప్పిరిగదా దానివలన సర్వోన్నతుడు అధికారియని నీవు తెలిసికొనిన మీదట నీ రాజ్యము నీకు మరల ఖాయముగ వచ్చునని తెలిసికొమ్ము.

26. But he gave a command to leave the stump of the tree along with its roots. That means your kingdom will be given back to you. It will happen when you recognize that the God of heaven rules.

27. రాజా, నా యోచన నీ దృష్టికి అంగీకారమగును గాక; ఒకవేళ నీవు నీ పాపములుమాని నీతి న్యాయముల ననుసరించి, నీవు బాధపెట్టిన వారియందు కరుణ చూపినయెడల నీకున్న క్షేమము నీకికమీదట నుండునని దానియేలు ప్రత్యుత్తర మిచ్చెను.

27. So, my king, I hope you will accept my advice. Stop being sinful. Do what is right. Give up your evil practices. Show kindness to those who are being treated badly. Then perhaps things will continue to go well with you.'

28. All of that happened to me.

29. It took place twelve months later. I was walking on the roof of my palace in Babylon.

30. I said, 'Isn't this the great Babylon I have built as a place for my royal palace? I used my mighty power to build it. It shows how glorious my majesty is.'

31. రాజు నోట ఈ మాట యుండగా ఆకాశమునుండి యొక శబ్దము వచ్చెను, ఏదనగా రాజగు నెబుకద్నెజరూ, యిదే నీకు ప్రకటన నీ రాజ్యము నీయొద్దనుండి తొలగిపోయెను.

31. I was still speaking when a voice was heard from heaven. It said, 'King Nebuchadnezzar, here is what has been ordered concerning you. Your royal authority has been taken from you.

32. తమయొద్ద నుండి మనుష్యులు నిన్ను తరిమెదరు; నీవు అడవిజంతువుల మధ్య నివాసము చేయుచు పశువులవలె గడ్డి మేసెదవు; సర్వోన్నతుడగు దేవుడు మానవుల రాజ్యముపైన అధికారి యైయుండి, తానెవనికి దాని అనుగ్రహింప నిశ్చయిం చునో వానికి అనుగ్రహించునని నీవు తెలిసికొనువరకు ఏడు కాలములు నీకీలాగు జరుగునని చెప్పెను.

32. You will be driven away from people. You will live like the wild animals. You will eat grass just as cattle do. Seven periods of time will pass by for you. Then you will recognize that the Most High God rules over all of the kingdoms of men. He gives them to anyone he wants.'

33. ఆ గడియలోనే ఆలాగున నెబుకద్నెజరునకు సంభ వించెను; మానవులలోనుండి అతని తరిమిరి, అతడు పశువులవలె గడ్డిమేసెను, ఆకాశపుమంచు అతని దేహమును తడపగా అతని తలవెండ్రుకలు పక్షిరాజు రెక్కల ఈకెలవంటివియు అతని గోళ్లు పక్షుల గోళ్లవంటివియు నాయెను.

33. What had been said about me came true at once. I was driven away from people. I ate grass just as cattle do. My body became wet with the dew of heaven. I stayed that way until my hair grew like the feathers of an eagle. My nails became like the claws of a bird.

34. ఆ కాలము గడచిన పిమ్మట నెబుకద్నె జరను నేను మరల మానవబుద్ధిగలవాడనై నా కండ్లు ఆకాశము తట్టు ఎత్తి, చిరంజీవియు సర్వోన్నతుడునగు దేవుని స్తోత్రముచేసి ఘనపరచి స్తుతించితిని; ఆయన ఆధిపత్యము చిరకాలమువరకు ఆయన రాజ్యము తరతరములకు నున్నవి.

34. At the end of that time I, Nebuchadnezzar, looked up toward heaven. My mind became clear again. Then I praised the Most High God. I gave honor and glory to the One who lives forever. His rule will last forever. His kingdom will never end.

35. He considers all of the nations on earth to be nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven. He does what he wants with the nations of the earth. No one can hold his hand back. No one can say to him, 'What have you done?'

36. ఆ సమయమందు నా బుద్ధి మరల నాకు వచ్చెను, రాజ్య సంబంధమగు ప్రభావమును నా ఘనతయు నా తేజస్సును నాకు కలిగెను; నా మంత్రులును నా క్రిందియధిపతులును నాయొద్ద ఆలోచన చేయ వచ్చిరి. నా రాజ్యము నాకు స్థిరపడగా నేను మరి ఎక్కువ ఘనత నొందితిని.

36. My honor and glory were returned to me when my mind became clear again. The glory of my kingdom was given back to me. My advisers and nobles came to me. And I was put back on my throne. I became even greater than I had been before.

37. ఈలాగు నెబుకద్నెజరను నేను పరలోకపు రాజుయొక్క కార్యములన్నియు సత్యములును, ఆయన మార్గములు న్యాయములునై యున్న వనియు, గర్వముతో నటించు వారిని ఆయన అణపశక్తు డనియు, ఆయనను స్తుతించుచు కొనియాడుచు ఘన పరచుచు నున్నాను.

37. Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, give praise and honor and glory to the King of heaven. Everything he does is right. All of his ways are fair. He is able to bring down those who live proudly.
