1. ఇశ్రాయేలు విస్తారముగా వ్యాపించిన ద్రాక్ష చెట్టుతో సమానము. వారు ఫలము ఫలించిరి. ఫలము ఫలించినకొలది వారు బలిపీఠములను మరి విశేషముగా చేయుచువచ్చిరి; తమ భూమి ఫలవంతమైనకొలది వారు తమ దేవతాస్తంభములను మరి విశేషముగా చేసిరి.

1. Israell was a goodly vine, but he hath brought forth unprofitable fruit: yea the more fruit he had the more alters he made: the more good I did to their land, the more friendship shewed they to their Images.

2. వారి మనస్సు కపటమైనది గనుక వారు త్వరలోనే తమ అపరాధమునకు శిక్ష నొందుదురు; యెహోవా వారి బలిపీఠ ములను తుత్తునియలుగా చేయును, వారు ప్రతిష్టించిన దేవతాస్తంభములను పాడుచేయును.

2. Their heart is divided, therefore will they be destroyed. The LORD shall break down their Images, he shall destroy their altars.

3. రాజు మనకు లేడు, మనము యెహోవాకు భయపడము, రాజు మనకేమి చేయును అని వారిప్పుడు చెప్పుదురు.

3. Then shall they say: we have no king, for why? we have not feared the LORD. And what shall then the king do to us?

4. అబద్ధప్రమాణములు చేయుదురు, సంధులు చేయుదురు, వట్టిమాటలు పలుకుదురు, అందువలన భూమి చాళ్లలో విషపుకూర మొలచునట్టుగా దేశములో వారి తీర్పులు బయలు దేరు చున్నవి.

4. They commune(comon) together, and swear vain oaths: they be confederate together, therefore groweth their punishment, as the weeds in the furrows of the land.

5. బేతావెనులోనున్న దూడవిషయమై షోమ్రోను నివాసులు భయపడుదురు, దాని ప్రభావము పోయెనని ప్రజలును, సంతోషించుచుండిన దాని అర్చకులును దుఃఖింతురు.

5. They that dwell in Samaria have worshiped the calf of Bethaven: therefore shall the people mourn over them, yea and the priests also, that in their wealthiness rejoiced with them: and why? it shall pass away from them.

6. ఎఫ్రాయిము అవమానము నొందుటకు, ఇశ్రాయేలు వారు తాము చేసిన ఆలోచనవలన సిగ్గు తెచ్చుకొనుటకు, అది అష్షూరు దేశములోనికి కొనిపోబడి రాజైన యారేబునకు కానుకగా ఇయ్యబడును.

6. It shall be brought to the Assyrian for a present unto king Jareb. Ephraim shall receive full punishment: Israel shall be confounded for his own imaginations,

7. షోమ్రోను నాశమగును, దాని రాజు నీళ్లలో కొట్టుకొనిపోవు నురుగుతో సమానమగును.

7. Samaria with his king shall vanish away, as the scum in(scomme upon) the water.

8. ఇశ్రాయేలువారి పాప స్వరూపమైన ఆవెనులోని ఉన్నత స్థలములు లయమగును, ముండ్ల చెట్లును కంపయు వారి బలిపీఠములమీద పెరు గును, పర్వతములను చూచిమమ్మును మరుగుచేయు డనియు, కొండలను చూచిమామీద పడుడనియు వారు చెప్పుదురు.

8. The high places of Aven, where Israel do sin, shall be cast down: thistles and thorns shall grow upon their alters. Then shall they say to the mountains: cover us, and to the hills: fall upon us.

9. ఇశ్రాయేలూ, గిబియా దినములనుండి నీవు పాపము చేయుచు వచ్చితివి, అచ్చట వారు నిలిచియుండిరి. దుర్మార్గులమీద జరిగిన యుద్ధము గిబియాలో వారిమీదకి రాగా

9. O Israel, thou hast sinned as Gabaa did afore time, where they remained: should not the battle then come upon the wicked children, as well as upon the Gabaonites?

10. నా యిష్టప్రకారము నేను వారిని శిక్షింతును; వారు చేసిన రెండు దోషక్రియలకు నేను వారిని బంధింపగా అన్యజనులు కూడి వారిమీదికి వత్తురు.

10. I will chasten them, even after mine own desire, the people shall be gathered together over them, when I punish them for their great wickedness.

11. ఎఫ్రాయిము నూర్పునందు అభ్యాసముగలదై కంకులను త్రొక్కగోరు పెయ్యవలె ఉన్నది; అయితే దాని నున్నని మెడకు నేను కాడి కట్టుదును; ఎఫ్రాయిముచేత దున్నిం చుటకు నేనొకని నియమింతును, యూదా భూమిని దున్నును, యాకోబు దానిని చదును చేసికొనును.

11. Ephraim was unto me, as a cow that is used to go to plow, therefore I loved him, and fell upon his fair neck. I drove Ephraim, Juda plowed, and Jacob played the husbandman:

12. నీతి ఫలించునట్లు మీరు విత్తనము వేయుడి ప్రేమయను కోత మీరు కోయుడి, యెహోవాను వెదకుటకు ఇదే సమ యము గనుక ఆయన ప్రత్యక్షమై మీమీద నీతివర్షము కురిపించునట్లు ఇదివరకెన్నడును దున్నని బీడుభూమి దున్నుడి.

12. that they might sow unto righteousness, and reap the fruits of well doing: that they might plow up their fresh land and seek the LORD, till he came, and learned them righteousness.

13. నీ ప్రవర్తననాధారము చేసికొని నీ బలాఢ్యులను నమ్ముకొని నీవు చెడుతనపు పంటకై దున్నితివి గనుక మీరు పాపమను కోతకోసియున్నారు. అబద్ధము నకు ఫలము పొందియున్నారు.

13. But now they have plowed them wickedness, therefore shall they reap sin, and eat the fruit of lies. Seeing thou puttest thy confidence in thine own ways, and leanest to the multitude of thy worthies:

14. నీ జనుల మీదికి అల్లరి వచ్చును; షల్మాను యుద్ధముచేసి బేతర్బేలును పాడుచేసి నట్లు ప్రాకారములుగల నీ పట్టణములన్నియు పాడగును; పిల్లలమీద తల్లులు నేలను పడవేయబడుదురు.

14. there shall grow a sedition among thy people. All thy strong cities shall be laid waste, even as Salmana was destroyed with his familiars, thorow him that was avenged of Arbel,(Baal) in the day of battle where the mother perished with her children.

15. ఈలాగున మీరు చేసిన ఘోరమైన దుష్టక్రియలనుబట్టి బేతేలు మీకు నాశన కారణమగును; ఉదయకాలమున ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజు కొట్టబడి నిర్మూలమగును.

15. Even so shall it go with you (O Bethel) because of your malicious wickedness. Like as the morning goeth away, so shall the king of Israel pass.
